CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: We want to check in with our 'Eye on the Sky' now, Air Traffic Expert Rally Caparas from Travelocity.
Good morning, Rally, any flight delays to speak of? I bet there are out west, actually.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol. Well there are some delays out west, but they are not where you would expect them to be, I don't think.

Down in the L.A. basin, all of those airports, LAX, San Diego, Long Beach, Orange County, they are seeing westerly winds and pretty strong westerly winds and that is equating to good visibility. They have got about 10 miles of visibility at Los Angeles International right now, so not any smoke or haze or anything messing with their visibility. Don't expect any delays into and out of Southern California today.

But if you go over the top of the mountains there, the ridge between California and Las Vegas, you will see some delays into and out of Las Vegas McCarran Airport today. Thirty to 45-minute arrival delays are very likely. Poor visibility, there is smoke all around the region and at the airport from those SoCal brush fires. We saw delays reach almost 60 minutes yesterday or last night at Las Vegas. So expect similar conditions and delays into and out of Las Vegas.

Now to the East Coast, from Boston all the way down to Miami, a whole different story, excellent conditions, on-time flight schedules all day and evening long.

And then in the central part of the United States, Chicago, St. Louis and Dallas-Fort Worth, we'll see 30 to 45-minute arrival delays. Very strong gusting winds, reduced airport arrival rates. They cut down on how many airplanes can land at each one of those airports per hour when the winds get like this, hence, they'll distribute delays to the rest of the airplanes.

And then Denver, you'll see 30 to 45-minute arrival delays early because of low clouds, fog and mist. That will improve by the p.m. hours for on-time schedules thereafter.

But over all, not a bad day to fly, Carol. I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest 'Eye on the Sky.'

COSTELLO: All right, we appreciate it. Rally Caparas live on the phone.
