CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Now let's check in with our 'Eye on the Sky' Air Traffic Expert Rally Caparas from Travelocity's Business site is here with the early word on possible delays.
RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Possible delays. Probable delays is probably a better way of looking at it. We won't see what we saw last week, folks. On Monday last week, we saw hundreds of cancellations and hours and hours of delays into and out of southern California. It won't be that way today, but we will still have some major delays across the country.

In the east, Philadelphia and the D.C. Metros this morning are seeing, well, aren't seeing a whole lot of runway right now, about a quarter to a half a mile visibility at Philly. The fog, the low clouds will create 30 to 45-minute arrival delays. But clearing by the late a.m. means on-time schedules at the mid-Atlantic airports later on, so good news for most of you there.

Tampa, Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports will face low clouds, rain, an isolated thunderstorm or two throughout the day and that means 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays as they wait out one of those thunderstorms and the visibility to improve.

Chicago O'Hare and Midway, the Windy Cities, well the Windy City, it's not so windy today, but it's plenty of rain and lots of wet runways. That L-A-H-S-O, LAHSO term down there means land and hold short operations. They won't be able to do that with wet runways, hence, they'll have to decrease the amount of operations per hour. You will see 60 to 90-minute arrival delays throughout the day, so be prepared for major delays in Chicago.

Minneapolis-St. Paul delay free right now. Stays that way until mid-afternoon and then we'll see low clouds, some snow, possible de- icing and 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays as a result.

Denver's airport, poor visibility to start the day. They'll see some low clouds, freezing drizzle, possibly some light snow, de-icing, 30 to 45-minute arrival delays and departure delays as a result.

SoCal fires not a factor today, no delays out west.

I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest 'Eye on the Sky' -- Carol.

COSTELLO: Thanks, Rally, we appreciate it.

CAPARAS: You are very welcome. TO ORDER A VIDEO OF THIS TRANSCRIPT, PLEASE CALL 800-CNN-NEWS OR USE OUR SECURE ONLINE ORDER FORM LOCATED AT www.fdch.com
