HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: We saw this week that no place in Baghdad is safe from attacks, even the tightly guarded headquarters for the U.S.-led coalition. We heard there were several raids last night in the Sunni Triangle.
Our Matthew Chance is standing by to tell us more about what happened -- good morning to you, Matthew.

MATTHEW CHANCE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Heidi.

And the U.S.-coalition forces on the ground are desperate to try and find out who it is who's behind this mounting insurgency against their forces. And because of that, we've been seeing a number of raids in the Sunni Triangle area.

We'll start around Falluja, where we understand in the, last night here local time, two generals, former generals of the army of Saddam Hussein were taken into custody. They have not been identified. It's not clear what role they may have played. But coalition officials saying they're suspected of involvement in this insurgency in some way. Also, in that Sunni Triangle area, the focus of attention an insurgency against U.S. forces, three people arrested in three separate raids in the area of Baquba. U.S. forces moving in to arrest what they say is a suspected bomb maker, a suspected rebel commander and another individual suspected of involvement of carrying out attacks against U.S. personnel on the ground.

All this, of course, as a memorial service is planned for the 15 U.S. soldiers who were killed when their helicopter was shot out of the skies by what eyewitnesses said was a surface to air missile. That commemoration is going to go on in the western desert later this evening here -- Heidi.

COLLINS: All right, Matthew Chance.

We do know that that is coming up today and we will be watching, of course.

We appreciate it.

Matthew Chance from Baghdad.
