CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: President Bush will be talking Iraq today on this Veteran's Day, but that will happen later, after he lays the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns. But in Iraq, they are remembering, too.
Let's head live to Baghdad now and CNN's Matthew Chance.

What are they doing there today -- Matthew?

MATTHEW CHANCE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Carol, obviously Veteran's Day means a great deal to the 130,000 or so U.S. troops that have been deployed on the ground now for several months, of course. There have been various short ceremonies carried out by individual units commemorating the veterans of past wars. This one that we have video of is from the 1st Armored Division.

November particularly has been a very difficult month for U.S. forces on the ground; 38 of their soldiers have been killed this month so far. And it is, remember, only the 11th of the month. But nevertheless, some of the soldiers we spoke to say they're determined to press on even if there is some apprehension amongst some of them about the possibility of this insurgency getting worse -- Carol.

COSTELLO: Matthew Chance reporting live from Baghdad this morning.
