CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Well, there are doubts this morning about al Qaeda linked claims of responsibility for a terrorist attack on two synagogues.
Let's head live to Istanbul, Turkey and journalist Andrew Finkel -- good morning, Andrew.

ANDREW FINKEL: Good morning.

Well, it seems that it's a London, the source of the news is coming from London, a London-based Arabic newspaper, "Al-Quds," has reported that it has been contacted by an al Qaeda group, which has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Now, here in Istanbul, there appears to be some movement in the investigation. They police say they have caught on the synagogues video cameras, the security cameras, pictures of the driver and the police have made some progress in tracing the identities of the people who bought the cars.

Now, the cars have been registered in some people's names. These people deny responsibility for having bought the cars. But they appear to have relatives who have gone missing. And the two cars have been bought in two separate parts of the country and it may be a coincidence but one Turkish newspaper is reporting that both of these people were reported to have gone over to Dubai -- Carol.
