CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Well, hopefully you're dry as a bug, because it's raining in many parts of the country and that usually means air traffic delays.
Live on the phone with us right now, our air travel expert, Travelocity's Rally Caparas.

Good morning -- Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol, and you're right, poor weather conditions. Everybody east of the Mississippi, beware, delays are widespread today. This weather is more typical of April and not November. But here is how it's going to shake down for you, folks.

On the immediate East Coast, Philadelphia and the D.C. Metros, you can expect 30 to 45-minute arrival delays today. Low clouds, fog, poor visibility, but those conditions at those locations will improve by the late morning hours for on-time schedules this evening.

Bear with us, it looks like the graphics may be a little slow this morning.

Atlanta Hartsfield and Memphis airports down in the south, expect 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays this morning, first because of low clouds, fog and poor visibility. Then later on this afternoon and evening, we'll start to see some thunderstorm activity move into the southeast, blocking routes into and out of those airports. Hence, those delays could double to about an hour and an hour and a half at Atlanta and Memphis later. So beware.

Detroit, Cleveland and Cincinnati-Covington, you'll see the weather move in on you gradually throughout the day. This is a very slow moving front. Forty-five-minute arrival and departure delays are likely in the morning. Low clouds, fog and rain and then in the afternoon and evening, wind, strong gusting winds out of the south and thunderstorm activity en route blocking routes.

Chicago O'Hare and Midway, the worst of it today, 60 to 90-minute arrival delays; and that could double later on during the evening hours, folks. Low clouds, fog and rain. Wet runways does not bode well with their land and hold short procedures. Strong winds will force less-than-favorable runway configurations. So they have got bunches of problems in Chicago.

St. Louis and Memphis airports, expect 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Low clouds, rain and fog there also. And then thunderstorms and wind will be factors this afternoon.

And then on the West Coast, only Seattle-Tacoma will see 30 to 45-minute arrival delays. Low clouds, fog, rain and they are seeing some 25 to 30 knot winds and that will last throughout the day.

The rest of the country, what's left of it, looks pretty decent.

I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest 'Eye on the Sky.' Carol, back to you.

COSTELLO: All right, many thanks. Rally Caparas live on the phone with us this morning.
