CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Now for some tech talk. This week in Las Vegas, all the new tech gadgets are on display at the annual Comdex Computer Show. Among the new products being rolled out is the latest in video game interaction. You can actually crawl into your TV.
Daniel Sieberg gives it a whirl.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

DANIEL SIEBERG, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, if you want to get in on the action with your favorite video game, there is something here at the Comdex Tech Show that lets you literally do just that. It's called the Action Stick from a company called BestSoft.

I'm joined right now by Brian Pyon to talk about this.

Brian, it uses infrared sensors so you can interact with the game?

BRIAN PYON, BESTSOFT: Yes. It has 18 sensors that are built into the stick, OK? Each sensor corresponds to each sensor to the characters. So whatever, whichever sensor you hit it, the character actually corresponded.

SIEBERG: All right, well, it's meant to replace your typical controller so I'm going to drop this and we're going to do a demonstration here. Brian, we've got a game loaded up here on the PlayStation 2. Does it work with every game?

PYON: It works with every game. This is a replacement of a joy stick, OK?

SIEBERG: And it also works with PCs, as well?

PYON: It also works with the PC with the USB port. Also available for Xbox's interfaces, too.

SIEBERG: All right, now, it's going to be coming out in December, is that right, for about $100?

PYON: That's correct.

SIEBERG: $100. Now, I'm actually feeling like I'm getting a bit of a workout here. I think I'm breaking out in a sweat. This is actually a physical interaction you're doing. PYON: You know, actually, we, Daniel, we did a statistical test. If you play this for a half an hour, it's better than swimming or jogging. Can you believe that?

SIEBERG: Well, I'm beginning to believe that with the amount of sweat that's breaking out on my forehead right now.

Well, Brian Pyon from BestSoft, thanks so much for joining us to talk about the Action Stick.

And I think that's a K.O.

PYON: I think, alas.

SIEBERG: Well, next time, Brian. A rematch.

That's going to do it for me here at the Comdex Tech Show.

Daniel Sieberg, CNN, Las Vegas.
