CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Now to Michael Jackson. No, we don't have any more startling revelations to tell you about. Those will come out later at a news conference in California.
In case you didn't hear, though, police officers swarmed all over the pop star's Neverland Ranch. Why?

CNN's Frank Buckley has some of that.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

FRANK BUCKLEY, CNN NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: A source with knowledge of the investigation tells CNN that investigators are looking into allegations of child molestation here at Neverland Ranch. The investigators arrived at about 8:30 in the morning on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the sheriff's department will only say the execution of the search warrant is part of an ongoing criminal investigation, and that 60 to 70 personnel from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department and the district attorney's office were on hand.

Michael Jackson was not here, according to his spokesman, and hasn't been here for two and a half weeks. Stuart Backerman said Jackson was not informed of the search warrant by law enforcement officials. He wasn't told the nature of the allegations and would have no comment on them.

But he did issue a statement addressing all of the news coverage, saying: "Michael himself said 'I've seen lawyers who do not represent me and spokespeople who do not know me speaking for me. These characters always seem to surface with a dreadful allegation just as another project, an album, a video is being released.'"

And, in fact, Jackson had an album that came out on the very day that this search warrant was executed here at the Neverland Ranch. We expect to hear more details on all of this during a news conference on Wednesday with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff and the district attorney.

Frank Buckley, CNN, Los Olivos, California.
