CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Time now, though, to check in with our 'Eye on the Sky.' Air Traffic Expert Rally Caparas from Travelocity has recovered from his Thanksgiving Day meal, and he joins us now to tell us if there are any flight delays.
RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Carol, I'll tell you what, the last -- well last night, we saw more airplanes land between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time than any other three-hour block that we will see, well, for the remainder of the year, or for the last, you know, 300 and some days.

COSTELLO: Went pretty smooth, too, wasn't it?

CAPARAS: It was amazingly smooth. We did see some volume- related delays last night, but nothing compared to what we could have seen had conditions been similar to today. The wind took a break, let everything happen. Now the wind is back today.

Here's how delays are going to work for you today, folks, as a result.

Newark, LaGuardia and Philadelphia, you will be delay free to start the morning. But later on this afternoon and evening, you will see some 45 to 60-minute arrival delays because of the winds forcing less-than-optimal runway configurations. Expect somewhere between 25 and 35-knot winds later on. It's going to be very bumpy. Keep your seat belts fastened.

D.C. to -- D.C. Metros down to Miami, and all the major airports in between, excellent flight conditions, on-time schedules once again. Enjoy another day of it.

Detroit, Cleveland and Cincinnati-Covington, the Great Lakes region, you, too, will see some wind-related gusts, but mostly just a very bumpy ride at the lower altitudes, folks. It's going to be a real shaker for you, so keep your seat belt fastened. Take some Dramamine, if you are susceptible to motion sickness. It's going to be one of those days. But you could see some sporadic 30 to 45-minute arrival delays as a result of those winds.

Chicago O'Hare, the Windy City, well, they are not the only ones, but today they will, too, see 45 to 60-minute arrival delays as their runway configuration is forced to, well, the airport capacity is reduced because of the extra wind. They have a land and hold short situation that they can't operate with when the winds blow, so take that into consideration going to Chicago. You'll be about an hour late. And then San Francisco, same as yesterday, low clouds, rain, poor visibility, wind, fog, the whole bit, it's going to be an all-day affair. Expect an hour delay if you are headed into San Fran.

The rest of the country operating very smoothly and should stay that way.

I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest 'Eye on the Sky' report.

COSTELLO: All right, we look forward to it.

CAPARAS: Me too.

COSTELLO: Thank you -- Rally.

CAPARAS: Sure.
