DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Thirteen-year-old Hillary Hindi of Las Vegas is just back from New Zealand. That's where she attended the world premier of "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King." But get this, Hillary didn't just attend, she interviewed the stars and joined them for an exclusive screening.
Hillary won the job of red carpet interviewer in a contest sponsored by America Online, one of CNN's corporate cousins.

Hillary Hindi, joining us now from Las Vegas.

Hillary, good morning.

HILLARY HINDI, AOL CONTEST WINNER: Good morning.

KAGAN: You didn't just -- you're not like some kid who said you wanted to go. You beat out a whole bunch of AOL contestants. This was a nationwide contestant. What did you do to win?

HINDI: Well, the rules said that you had to interview an inanimate object and pretend I was one of the "Lord of the Ring" stars. And so I interviewed a Gandalf's cardboard cut-out, and I just dressed up, and I took it from there.

KAGAN: And in costume, some might say that you have some resemblance to one of the characters, Pippin.

HINDI: Yes, some say that.

KAGAN: Well, it works, because it got you there. And people online voted, and they picked you to go. Just how big of a fan would you say you are of "Lord of the Rings," of the movies?

HINDI: I just love the movies. They are so good, because you know, I can't find any good movies for me that are like good because they all have like sexual stuff and cussing, and when I saw this movie, there's nothing wrong with it. And I was like, whoa, you know. And I just fell in love with it.

KAGAN: So you win, you get to go on a big old airplane down to New Zealand of all places, and there you are on the red carpet. We have a little clip of you on the red carpet, so we're going to listen in for just a second.

HINDI: OK.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) HINDI: How does it feel to see all these people out here?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Isn't it wonderful. You haven't seen them all, because you're stuck in one place, but we've come about three miles and there have been people on either side of the road waving and looking very, very happy. It just feels like a party. That's what I like about it.

HINDI: If J.R.R. Tolkien were standing next to me, what would you say to him?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Well, I'd ask him if he had a ticket to the film tonight, and if he didn't, I'd try to get him one.

But, no, I, seriously, I would hope he was proud. I'd asked him if he had seen the movies and what did he think of them. I'd be a little bit frightened by what he thought. He was supposed to be a little bit grumpy.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

KAGAN: That is some pretty good company, Hillary, the star of the movie and the director.

HINDI: Yes.

KAGAN: What did you think about that experience?

HINDI: It was such a great opportunity. Like I never knew I would be able to interview them one day, and God just totally helped me through all this. You know, he's the one that made me win. It wasn't me, it was God, and I just -- it was so fun. I was having the time of my life down there.

KAGAN: I can only imagine. Now in your total unbiased opinion, all right, suspend your total love of this movie for a second. How does the number three movie stack up against the first two.

HINDI: Wipes them out. Oh my gosh, it's the best movie in the world. I absolutely love it. It is just so cool.

KAGAN: And then how many times have you seen it stateside since you've been home?

HINDI: Twice.

KAGAN: Twice, all right. Well, you enjoy. Big things ahead for you, young lady. I can tell this is just the beginning of some very big things.

HINDI: Thank you so much.

KAGAN: Thanks for making time in your busy schedule to talk with us.

Hillary Hindi, red carpet interview, "Lord of the Rings," appreciate your time.

HINDI: Thank you.
