CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Time for a little 'Business Buzz' now. Over a year since its release, "Grand Theft Auto" goes to the edit room.
Carrie Lee will tell us why live from the Nasdaq market site.

Why?

CARRIE LEE, CNN FINANCIAL NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Well, it is offensive, Carol, how about that. A lot of people have had problems with this. And lately, it is the Haitians. Now video game publisher Take-Two Interactive Software has decided to edit its smash game hit "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" to remove a controversial line of dialog in which a character is ordered to -- quote -- "kill the Haitians." Now Take-Two apologized for any offense it may have caused, in a statement released this week.

The game came out in October of 2002. But just recently, people in the Haitian community have been complaining about this. They have objected to that statement in the game. Interesting, because the voice is actually actor Ray Liotta. He does the voice-over for this character that says this.

A lot of people have gotten involved with this, including New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. He had threatened to launch an investigation of the company by the city's Human Rights Commission.

Some might call this game an equal opportunity offender. Women, parents, educational and religious groups have all protested. It has sold pretty well, though. But, Carol, the latest here, they are taking out that line. And some might say rightfully so.

COSTELLO: Absolutely. Carrie Lee reporting live from the Nasdaq market site.
