CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: Let's check in with our 'Eye on the Sky.' Air Traffic Expert Rally Caparas from Travelocity Business is on the telephone with the early word on flight delays, just in case all of you are trying to get out of town to relax or go shopping or go skiing.
Rally, what does it look like out there?

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning -- Carol.

LIN: Good morning.

CAPARAS: Well, it looks like it's going to be a good opportunity for a lot of folks to just kind of sit and relax at some of the nation's airports today, especially if you are headed into the northeast once again. We saw two and three-hour delays at the major metro areas in the megalopolis. And today, we'll see similar conditions and delays.

Forty-five to 60-minute arrival delays can be expected into Boston's Logan Airport today. Very strong gusting winds are still a problem, up to 35 knots or so. They will reduce the airport's flight handling capacity and that means delays. So beware.

Newark and LaGuardia, they saw two and three-hour delays yesterday. Well, today it's going to be one to two-hour arrival delays. Strong gusting winds are already forcing a less-than- favorable runway configuration at LaGuardia. And Newark will follow very soon. These delays should last at least through the half of -- I'm sorry -- the first half of today.

Philadelphia to Miami, and all of the major airports in between, good news, good conditions, on-time schedules all day and evening long.

Over in Chicago, the Windy City, O'Hare will see some wind once again, but not nearly as bad as yesterday. About 30 to 45-minute arrival delays as their runway configurations don't handle that wind very well either.

And then down in Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston, they will both operate delay free for most of the day. And then later this afternoon and evening, there is a chance of some low clouds, rain and isolated thunderstorm activity, especially around Houston. As a result, you can expect 45 to 60-minute arrival and departure delays once these storms get going and limit flight routes into and out of those major airports.

But the rest of the country to the west, despite some inclement conditions, should have on-time schedules throughout the day.

I'll be back Monday morning with the latest from your 'Eye on the Sky.'

Carol, folks, have a fantastic weekend.

LIN: You too, Rally, thanks so much.
