CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Iraq is the focus at the United Nations Security Council today. The American timetable for a hand over of power to a provisional government will be discussed. The suggested timetable includes an agreement to restore authority to Iraqis next June. It also calls for general elections in 2005, for a constitutional convention and later for a government.
Iraqi insurgents still busy despite the capture of Saddam Hussein.

Our Baghdad bureau chief Jane Arraf has the latest for you.

JANE ARRAF, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, there's been scattered unrest in towns around Baghdad and in some Baghdad neighborhoods following Saddam's arrest. In the town of Fallujah, north of Baghdad, a scene of frequent attacks against U.S. forces, demonstrators came out on the street last night looting shops, trying to attack the governor's office, dragging objects out of shops they had burned and looted.

Similar scenes in other places, as well. In the town of Ramadi, west of Baghdad, pro-Saddam demonstrators came out to try to confront U.S. forces. And in the town of Samarra, another scene where a major ambush left dozens dead, according to the U.S. not long ago. U.S. forces say they foiled another attack. This one, they say, resulted in the deaths of 11 Iraqis after ambushers tried to attack a U.S. patrol by using pigeons to signal where they were going and schoolchildren leaving school as a cover.

Jane Arraf, CNN, Baghdad.
