CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Time for a little 'Business Buzz' now. A new government regulation could mean better business for the trucking industry. But some say it will make the roads more dangerous.
Sasha Salama live from the Nasdaq market site to explain -- Sasha.

SASHA SALAMA, CNN FINANCIAL NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Hi there, Carol.

You know when truckers are on the road now, by law they cannot be driving for more than 10 hours. Well all of that is going to change on Sunday when they will be allowed to stay on the road for 11 consecutive hours. They'll also be required to take a break of at least 10 hours before they get on the road again.

And some people are saying that this will be a good thing because it will give drivers more rest in between their drives. But the union, the Teamsters Union that represents the truckers and some safety groups, are saying that that extra hour of driving will actually cause more accidents because the drivers will be more tired.

So these rules take effect Sunday. Definitely something to keep in mind as you are driving over the New Year's weekend.

Happy New Year, Carol, back to you.

COSTELLO: Happy New Year to you, Sasha, many thanks, live from the Nasdaq market site.
