Good morning.
CARRIE LEE, CNN FINANCIAL NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Carol.
A lot happening for electronics in general this week. Hewlett- Packard and Apple Computer are teaming up to offer a digital music service. Both of these companies trying to get into the lucrative consumer electronics market.
Now H-P is going to sell an H-P branded portable music player that's based on Apple's popular iPod. The H-P version is going to be blue as opposed to Apple's original white model, which you can see here.
H-P is also going to start installing Apple's iTune's music services, the online version of music downloading and things like that, onto its computers. So H-P, Apple really in a different type of departure here teaming up to offer this service. H-P had originally planned on offering its own music services, but Carly Fiorina, CEO of H-P, said that iPod is the best around. So they are teaming up instead.
Hewlett-Packard also says it's going to develop its first digital hub. And this is a device that would act as a central server for entertainment devices. Also, H-P plans to make a broad commitment to adopt technology to prevent music piracy.
So a lot happening in the electronics space this week, Carol. This news coming out of the consumer electronics show in Las Vegas. Getting closer and closer to that mainstream one-stop shopping entertainment device for people and a lot of developments this week.
COSTELLO: That'll be great.
Carrie Lee live from the Nasdaq market site.
