BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Jim Lux is all layered up. He's in Kennebunkport, Maine, this morning -- one of the coldest spots that we can find. That arctic blast, though, is not keeping him from his appointed rounds.
How are you, Jim? Conditions are what there?

JIM LUX, U.S. POSTAL CARRIER: Cold, very cold.

HEMMER: Do you have a temperature reading for us?

LUX: I have several layers of clothes on. The thermometer is not working today. It's pretty cold, though. It's way below zero.

HEMMER: So true. You say you have layers on. How many? What are you wearing?

LUX: Oh, I've got six layers of t-shirts right up through sweaters and everything, just to stay warm.

HEMMER: Jim, do you ever get used to this?

LUX: We live in Maine. You've got to know how to dress if you want to live right.

HEMMER: With a little bit of...

LUX: Maine is the best place to be.

HEMMER: With a little bit of physical movement and time, do you warm up?

LUX: If you keep moving, you're warm. There is no problem at all.

HEMMER: Yes, what do...

LUX: Yesterday -- go ahead.

HEMMER: Yes. So, listen, the heat and the snow and the rain, is this the worst you feel or not?

LUX: Well, I'd rather have cold weather than the cold rain in the wintertime. Cold is no problem at all.

HEMMER: Well, listen, good luck to you out there. What's the coldest day you remember, by the way? You've been doing this for a while.

LUX: With wind chills, something around 30 below.

HEMMER: Hang in there, Jim.

LUX: But -- OK, thank you.

HEMMER: Thanks for talking with us. Jim Lux there in Kennebunkport, Maine. His appointed rounds will not stop today. Thanks.
