DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Well, of course the Golden Globes not just about awards, also a night of glitz and glamour. We want to take a look now at some of the fashion winners and losers, OK, at last night's awards. Joining me here in Los Angeles, celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch, who helped pull me together and clean me up. Thank you.
PHILLIP BLOCH, CELEBRITY STYLIST: Good morning.

KAGAN: Much appreciated.

BLOCH: We match today, actually.

KAGAN: We kind of do. We've got that red tone going. It's good when you match your stylist. That's a good sign, especially since I got dressed at 3:00 this morning.

Let's talk about the women making the biggest statement, Nicole Kidman. Love it or hate it?

BLOCH: Don't try this at home. Do not try this at home. But I thought it was amazing. She's a vision. Just really for fashionistas.

KAGAN: Now for people who didn't see it in person, how would you explain it? It was kind of a flapper look.

BLOCH: Very flapper, very revealing. It looks like something Cher might have worn, but definitely more of a period piece.

KAGAN: And for you it worked?

BLOCH: I loved it. I think the fashion people are just going to go crazy.

KAGAN: Now, I told you I thought my favorite was Sarah Jessica Parker. I loved her dress.

BLOCH: Gorgeous Chanel couture from the spring/summer collections, and the dark hair with a little bit of highlights, because she was in Paris recently shooting the last episodes of the show. She went to some of the couture shows, and she was just like, I'll take that one.

KAGAN: And when you're Sarah Jessica Parker, you can do that.

BLOCH: Yes, exactly. KAGAN: It was not a long dress.

BLOCH: No, party dress. Which again, several of the women were in party dresses. Uma's was short in the front and long in the back. Hers was short, then long, Nicole's.

KAGAN: Cate Blanchett, we both zoomed in on this one. This woman has redefined maternity.

BLOCH: It's so interesting, because if you looked at Debra Messing, and then you looked at Cate Blanchett, you said you can look gorgeous and be pregnant. Debra kind of did the cover it up and, you know, the hair all back, whereas Cate, look at this, just a vision of regal, royalty. That was so -- the color, everything.

KAGAN: And I think that goes into you giving us the heads up last week about what to look for. That is kind of that goddess look.

BLOCH: Oh, yes, definitely goddess dressing, and I think we saw a lot of that on the runway, even -- the runway. The red carpet.

KAGAN: It is a runway, isn't it?

BLOCH: The red carpet, exactly.

KAGAN: OK, any misses, people who you didn't think really did great?

BLOCH: You know, Diane Keaton just does that same thing year after year. It's kind of an homage to "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," as we all kind of joked about. I think we used another word.

KAGAN: Yes, but we are on television. So you don't like the gloves, you don't like the white?

BLOCH: It was just too much. And you could see her down on the red carpet looking like that. It was just like this light bulb bipping around. The whole thing, she was just -- it was wrong. And you know who else? Barbara Streisand. You know, she showed up, she had the coat on. She was warm.

KAGAN: Right, and it was a little bit chilly.

BLOCH: But you know, she just looked funny with the coat and everything. It's just sort of the old school, they didn't care. But if you think about old school, then you had Jane Fonda, who looked amazing.

KAGAN: She did. And she was there with her son, Troy Garrity (ph).

And there's Charlize Theron, of course.

BLOCH: The winner. And who looked so elegant in Dior.

KAGAN: Yes, we're looking forward to Oscars. You'll have to come back for Oscars, not only to give us a fashion preview, but you've taught me a few little fashion tricks behind the scenes.e The tricks this man knows, you have no idea.

BLOCH: And you're going to share that with our viewers closer to Oscars, right?

KAGAN: Exactly.

BLOCH: Own little fashion kit. Ladies, we have some things to learn, trust me.

Phillip Bloch, thank you so much, Phillip.

KAGAN: Thank you.
