CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Let's talk more about the Super Bowl. In Houston, the Homeland Security Department has told authorities to remain on high alert through this weekend. That means fences, concrete barriers, bomb sweeps, metal detectors and surveillance cameras will be everywhere. NFL officials and police have not decided yet whether Reliant Stadium's retractable roof will be open for the game. A no fly zone over the stadium will be in effect, however.
"The Brady Bunch?" No, not those frizzy haired folks from the '70s. No, you will find this Brady Bunch in the New England Patriots locker room.

Josie Burke live in Houston warming up for the big game.

People love Tom Brady. He's so humble.

JOSIE BURKE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: He is very humble. And, you know, he was like that two years ago, Carol, when the Patriots were in the Super Bowl. He was 24 years old then and he was so calm and cool before the big game that he was actually able to go in the locker room just hours before and take a nap.

Well, this time around, Brady appears just as calm and, if possible, even cooler.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

BURKE (voice-over): From the Super Bowl to the gossip columns to the capital, these days you just can't miss New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

TY LAW, PATRIOTS CORNERBACK: Tom is everywhere, man. So, I mean, he plays the role of the quarterback very well, not just on the field.

BURKE: Quarterback is the glamour position in the NFL and currently Brady is it when it comes to quarterbacks. He is young, handsome, single and enjoying every minute.

TOM BRADY, PATRIOTS QUARTERBACK: I mean I have an awful lot of fun.

TED JOHNSON, PATRIOTS LINEBACKER: And he's got it, you know? He's got the charisma and the, you know, he's got the, you know, the fatal charm.

BURKE: In Boston, the newspapers keep tabs on the comings and goings of the QBQT.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I go home and I go home to my wife and kids and that's what I do. Whatever he does, I'll look at it the next day in the paper, that's all.

BRADY: I know what I do so I don't really need to read about it too much. So whether it's true or not, you know, whatever is going to be said is going to be said.

BURKE: Brady's appeal extends beyond New England. Yes, that's him earlier this month at the president's State of the Union address.

TEDY BRUSCHI, PATRIOTS LINEBACKER: I was looking on TV and I saw Tom sitting there. It was like what in the world is going on? But, you know, obviously he's a Republican.

BRADY: Willie calls me little Bush now.

BURKE: Little Arnold might be even better -- athletic, from California, a non-traditional route to politics. Don't rule it out.

BRADY: Political aspirations? I don't know. I enjoyed it in college. You know, I enjoyed the politics in college.

TRY BROWN, PATRIOTS WIDE RECEIVER: Never. I would never vote for Brady.

BRADY: We'll see.

BURKE: The 26-year-old is already preparing for the relentlessness questions politicians must face regarding their personal lives.

BRADY: Who am I dating? No one this week. I'm dating the training room. That's where all my time is being spent.

BURKE: For now, the only date Brady is concerned about is one with destiny.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

BURKE: As one of Tom Brady's teammates put it, they have to tease him, keep him in check, because he is so high up there on the evolution ladder. The things that they really like to get him on about, Carol, are the fact that he highlights his hair and he carries this bag that looks suspiciously like a purse. But he says it's a European handbag. And what they aren't teasing him about anymore is the fact that he used to drive a yellow jeep but he got rid of that when he was named MVP of the last Super Bowl. He moved up. I think he's driving something like an Escalade. And that passes muster in the locker room.

COSTELLO: Well, he's the kind of man that could carry off carrying a purse.

BURKE: If there is any kind of man, he is probably that one. COSTELLO: Thank you, Josie.

We appreciate it.

Of course, the Super Bowl coming your way Sunday.
