(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Life' a paradise. It ain't easy to find trouble. She's practically undressing me with her eyes. There I was, like a moth to the flame.

Who is she?

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: She's one of the unfortunate girls who is turned on by the criminal types.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: OK, that was the movie big bounce. So will it do big box at the office this weekend? Russ Leatherman, also known as Mr. Moviefone, is her to throw in his two cents.

So you loved this one, didn't you?

RUSS LEATHERMAN, "MR. MOVIEFONE": I love "The Big Bounce" -- nope, maybe not. The odds of finding a good movie in January are sort of the same as maybe catching the chicken flu -- it can happen, but it's highly unlikely.

Let's go through the new movies real quick. This is "The Big Bounce," stars Owen Wilson, good actors, Morgan Freeman, Gary Sinise. It's sort of a who's conning who movie, set in Hawaii. I thought it was really flat. By the end of the movie, I didn't care who was conning who. I just wanted to be out of the theater. So it's got some great actors with really a sort of a lame story line. So I didn't like the movie much.

COLLINS: What did you think of Owen and Morgan Freeman? Seems like kind of an odd couple, doesn't it?

LEATHERMAN: And I think that's what they were going for the odd couple thing.

But you have to ask yourself, when Morgan Freeman and Gary Sinise are reading this script, and then you find out that you're going to be in the movie with Charlie Sheen and a bunch of these other people, how do you go ahead with it? Like halfway through the script, I think I would have thrown it out, and fired my agent and moved on.

But whatever, didn't like it much. That's it.

COLLINS: All right, what about "The Perfect Score?" LEATHERMAN: "The Perfect Score," it's an SAT, I got to steal the answers to the SAT test, because I'm an athlete and I'm too stupid to pass it, I'm the stoned guy, and I'm too high to pass it. It's really this group of kids, sort of a "Breakfast Club" style group of kids, who are out to steal the answers to the SAT scores. I thought this movie suffered from the same thing "The Big Bounce" suffered from, which was just, it's sort of a snooze the whole way through -- no highs, no lows, just really flat.

COLLINS: So it's not so much the perfect score.

LEATHERMAN: Not so much the perfect score, right.

COLLINS: All right, what about "You Got Served."

LEATHERMAN: "You Got Served," well, the hits just keep on coming. This is B2K and others, and it's really a story about these two hip-hop groups that get together and have the ultimate danceoff. I thought some of the dancing was cool, some of the music is OK, but as far as a movie goes, it really isn't much.

So you know, the new movies this week, like I said, they're a little bit lame, but thank God, we have the Oscars to look forward to, because some of those movies are back in theaters.

COLLINS: Yes, let's talk about those. There's a few here that I haven't seen yet that I bet are certainly still work seeing, "Master and Commander" being one.

LEATHERMAN: "Master and Commander" nominated for best picture. It's a beautifully done movie, interesting Russell Crowe didn't get a nomination. But this is one of the big, epic well done, really just sort of flawless movies that's back in theaters. So if you get a chance, go take a look.

COLLINS: And you've got two more here quickly to mention, "Whale Rider" and "In America."

LEATHERMAN: Two of my favorite movies of the year, Keisha Castle-Hughes (ph) from "Whale Rider" got nominated in the best actress category. I thought that was fantastic. Both of these movies are really smaller movies that a lot of people probably didn't see. Go into theaters now and see them, or you're going to miss them. These are two fantastic movies.

COLLINS: All right, very good. We'll look forward to getting back in the theaters to see the ones that have already been nominated. I like that.

LEATHERMAN: That's the thing to do this weekend. That's the thing to do.

COLLINS: All right, Russ Leatherman, Mr. Moviefone, thanks so much for your input. Appreciate it.

LEATHERMAN: Have a great weekend. COLLINS: All right, you, too.
