CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Security concerns have again prompted airlines to ground flights from Europe to the United States. British Airways, Continental and Air France all canceled flights this weekend and today.
Our Jim Boulden has details for you.

JIM BOULDEN, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): It's the second time since Christmas that London Heathrow and Paris' Charles DeGaulle have seen the grounding of a number of flights to the United States. Now, tiny Glasgow Airport in Scotland is also the scene of an international terror scare.

Continental Airlines canceled its Sunday afternoon flight to Los Angeles via Newark. It's the first time since the wave of canceled flights began late last year that a U.S. owned carrier decided it was too risky to take off from Europe.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: For security reasons the flight was canceled, so we're going to be going to Heathrow and from Heathrow we go to Newark. So we'll get in just a couple of hours later than what we expected.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We found out about the flight being canceled on the telly as we were packing up to come out here. So we thought we'd better come out here and see what's going on. They might reroute us.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Security is really so tight that probably the plane is the safest place to be at the moment, because there are so many checkpoints.

BOULDEN: British Airways Flight 223 to Washington-Dulles and Air France Flight 26, also to Dulles, won't fly on Monday either. The return flights Monday night are also canceled. U.S. officials tell CNN it's not clear if the intelligence chatter meant the planes themselves would be attacked, but say some of the specific flight numbers, dates and airlines have been mentioned in intelligence reports. B.A. 223 was grounded or severely delayed in early January, when similar warnings were given.
