CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: We've been telling you about this abyss this morning, and we want to get some new information about the cancellation of two British Airways flights out of London, one to Washington Dulles, the other to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia -- actions taken because of security concerns.
What they are? Well, we don't exactly know, but let's head live to London and Walter Rodgers to find out more.

Hello -- Walter.

WALTER RODGERS, CNN SENIOR INTERNATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Carol.

What we do know is that the British government had sufficient security concerns that it notified British Airways that there were credible threats against two of the B.A. flights.

The one most targeted recently by security threats, B.A. 223, London Heathrow to Washington Dulles Airport, that particular flight, which they were concerned about, is this coming Sunday afternoon. So, British Airways, rather than taking a chance, cancelled it.

The second B.A. flight which was cancelled was B.A. 263, London Heathrow to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Now, you know Saudi Arabia has been a bit of a hot bed for al Qaeda terrorism in recent years. That being the case, B.A., having shut down or suspended all flights to Saudi Arabia last August, now decided that this flight -- the threat against this particular B.A. flight this coming Monday was credible enough to just cancel the flight.

B.A. apologized to its passengers, but they said they had no choice in the matter. That's probably the case -- Carol.

COSTELLO: All right, Walter Rodgers live from London brining us up-to-date. We appreciate it.
