DARYN KAGAN, ANHCHOR: A little reminder here, tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Love is not just in the air. It's also online.
AOL's online advisor Regina Lewis is in Washington with this week's hot love topics.

Regina, good morning.

REGINA LEWIS, AOL ONLINE ADVISOR: Hey, Daryn.

KAGAN: We've got to start with a bitter, bitter break up. Tell me it is not true. It's over between Barbie and Ken?

LEWIS: Absolutely unbelievable, after 43 years, although apparently they're still friends.

This, of course, was Mattel marketing and very savvy, I must say. They revealed this news to make way for two new characters: Cali for Ken and someone that's going to go by the name of Blaine, a surfer dude from Australia that everybody thinks would be a good mate for Barbie.

But what I couldn't believe, looking into this, is that they were never married in the first place, despite all those wedding guess dresses and despite the millions of times kids, myself and my sister and I included, married them off, they were never really together.

So the online buzz is all about this today, and collecting online Barbies is an enormous phenomenon. I was looking into it today. The collector's show for Barbie is sold out for 2004.

People who have been collecting the stuff over 40 years, they're selling it on eBay for thousands of dollars. And they're getting tons and tons of bids. I saw one Barbie on there for 9 grand, 32 bids, about 12 hours left in that auction. Unbelievable.

KAGAN: So Ken wouldn't commit, so Barbie walked. And now she's got a new guy basically?

LEWIS: Yes. That's the plan because people are coming...

KAGAN: Good for her.

LEWIS: Yes, that's what some people are saying. And the message boards on this are an absolute riot. Some people are saying, you know, Ken, you've been dead weight for a long time. Barbie, you go girl. Everybody has got an opinion on news. KAGAN: All right. Now to a pair that are not afraid to put on a tuxedo. Penguins in love.

LEWIS: Yes, this was interesting. It was "New York Times" photo of two penguins kissing. Everybody was clamoring for it. It then linked you to a very interesting story. Both are male. There's the picture.

And also, the story was loaded with facts about the fact this is not at all unusual. In fact, documented homosexual behavior in 450 different species.

And you can imagine, this prompted discussion on everything from this particular situation to gay marriage.

Along those lines and I know that you've been covering this all morning, big spikes in traffic and even travel packages to Massachusetts and San Francisco. I can't even imagine how many weddings we're going to see this weekend.

KAGAN: Interesting. We have just a minute left. So you also have Nick and Jessica, Tori, Tori, Tori and finding love online. You pick which one you want to talk about of those three.

LEWIS: Well, Nic and Jessica is cute. Of course, the famous newlyweds online. Jessica, more popular than Nic in part, I think, because nobody can spell his name. That's Nic Lachey, and people looking for him are going via Jessica Simpson.

Tori Spelling got engaged. Her registry is online. Very compelling to look at that. She's got lovely taste at Tiffany's and Williams-Sonoma.

And then finding love for people who are single. Right now, eight million personals. So if you're looking for a date for Valentine's Day, you can start today and maybe have one by tomorrow.

KAGAN: Thank you so much. Regina Lewis from AOL, happy Valentine's Day to you.

LEWIS: Thank you. You too.
