CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: In northeastern Iran, rescue workers are picking through the rubble, looking for more victims. More than 300 died when a runaway train smashed through five villages and exploded.
Kasra Naji is at the crash site.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

KASRA NAJI, CNN CORRESPONDENT: I'm standing on the edge of this village, which (UNINTELLIGIBLE) surrounds the railway station that was the scene of the explosion yesterday. The village is completely flattened.

And what you see behind me is bulldozers basically working their way through the rubble to try and bring out bodies of people who are under the rubble. In the last few hours that we've been here, many bodies, maybe 12 or 15, have been brought out, many of them women, which tells us that at the time of the day many of the people who were (UNINTELLIGIBLE) were women inside.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

COSTELLO: And if you're wondering why that report ended so abruptly, Iranian military personnel at the scene ordered Kasra Naji to stop taping, but he was telling us earlier that those five villages are merely rubble. Many of the dead, the 309 who died, were firefighters trying to control the flames.
