CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Time for a little "Business Buzz" right now. Clear Channel isn't kidding about its zero tolerance policy, just ask Howard Stern.
Carrie Lee live from the Nasdaq market site.

What does this mean for Howard Stern?

CARRIE LEE, CNN FINANCIAL NEWS CORRESPONDENT: You know it's a very good question, Carol. Clear Channel Communications pulling the plug on shock jock Howard Stern's radio show in six cities, citing its giant -- citing the radio giant's new zero tolerance policy against indecency on the airwaves. Clear Channel cited Stern's interview with a man who was filmed having sex with Paris Hilton.

Clear Channel also issued its new indecency rules on Tuesday, the same day it fired a popular Tampa radio talk show host whose sexually explicit morning antics prompted a proposed $755,000 fine from the FCC in January.

Now today, Clear Channel's CEO John Hogan is set to appear before a House subcommittee hearing on broadcast decency. Top execs at ABC, NBC and Fox are also scheduled to testify. Clear Channel's CEO says we will not air Howard Stern on Clear Channel stations until we are assured his show will conform to acceptable standards of radio broadcasting, responsible broadcasting.

So if he follows those rules, Carol, Howard Stern, the show just wouldn't be the same, would it?

COSTELLO: No, there wouldn't be any woman stripping in front of him and him describing it in detail for his audience.

LEE: No. No.

COSTELLO: Yes.

LEE: Now this -- but this doesn't mean Howard Stern is off the air all together. Viacom's Infinity Broadcasting also syndicates his show, and they say they do plan to continue airing him in 75 markets. So fans will still be able to hear him in some places.

COSTELLO: I'm sure they will be happy about that.

Carrie Lee live from the Nasdaq market site.
