FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: Out of Washington now, U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is commenting about his thoughts on that investigation.
RUMSFELD: ... Israel, Spain, many other countries. It is clearly a priority to capture him, and we will, if he's alive. But...

QUESTION: The families of service people in Iraq are demonstrating today in Dover, Delaware. I wonder if there is anything you wanted to say to them about that.

RUMSFELD: The families of who?

QUESTION: The families of service people in Iraq are protesting about the war itself and the handling of the service people...

RUMSFELD: Well, as you know, throughout the history of our country, any time there has been a conflict, there have been some numbers of people who don't agree.

And that's the wonderful thing about our country. People can have any view they want, and they can express it. And they can express it through letters to the editor, or speeches, or free speech, or free assembly.

And what we do know is that the men and women in uniform are all volunteers. Every single on of them is a volunteer. And they're doing something because they want to do it. They're doing something because they believe in it. The cause is a good cause. Fifty million people have been liberated, and freedom has been advanced.

And everywhere I go, the morale of the young men and women in uniform is high. They are well-trained, well-equipped, they're well- led, and they're proud of what they're doing, and goodness knows, the American people are proud of what they're doing.

Thank you very much.

WHITFIELD: All right. You're seeing U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld making some live comments out of Washington, really responding to a number of questions about the various uprisings taking place in different parts of the world, from Iraq to Afghanistan and even Spain, and now Israel.
