FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: Hello. I'm Fredricka Whitfield in Atlanta. This afternoon, another violent attack in Gaza City. This one threatening some potentially dangerous ramifications. It is believed the car of Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi exploded. It's unclear how. But CNN has confirmed that Rantisi has been taken to a hospital. We're still awaiting some of the circumstances...

WHITFIELD: ...as well as waiting to go see if some details will be revealed about how his car exploded. But all we know right now is that Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi, you're seeing there in file videotape, was in a vehicle that exploded. We're still trying to ascertain how it exploded, why it happened.

All we know is that it happened in Gaza City and that he has since been taken to a hospital in Gaza City. We'll have more news on this at the top of the hour. Stay with CNN.
