U.S. Naval Helicopter Crashes Near Banda Aceh Airport

CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: Good evening. I'm Carol Lin at CNN center in Atlanta. We have this breaking news and a picture to show you of a U.S. military helicopter which crashed about 500 feet from the Banda Aceh Airport. 10 people were on board. We have confirmed that they are alive, but with significant injuries.
They crashed while on approach to try to do a landing. They crashed in a rice patti. We're keeping a tab on those survivors. Once again, with significant injuries.
Our White House correspondent John King who is in the region travelling with the Bush administration is now helping us with disaster coverage. He is in Banda Aceh and we expect a full, live report in our primetime show CNN SUNDAY NIGHT at 10:00 Eastern. Please join us then.
