FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN CENTER: Hello, I'm Fredricka Whitfield in Atlanta. The rest of the "DEATH SQUAD" coming up in a moment. But first, this breaking news out of the UN Security Council: a unanimous decision to impose new sanctions against Iran.
Our Richard Roth is covering the United Nations. He joins us now. Richard?

RICHARD ROTH, CNN UNITED NATIONS REPORTER: Fredricka, France currently at the microphone. But the Security Council, a couple of minutes ago, unanimously slapped Iran with more sanctions. This is what they've been doing now, it seems, every 60 days. But Iran refuses to freeze its uranium enrichment program. It says it just wants peaceful nuclear power, the Security Council, worried Iran is developing a nuclear bomb.

Britain asked Iran to come back into goodwill negotiations to find a solution, but so far Iran is not willing to. Its foreign minister is waiting in the wings, ready to address the Security Council. He's a last-minute replacement for Tehran's president, who canceled the trip over a visa flap at the last minute.

Fredricka.

WHITFIELD: Richard Roth, thanks so much. We'll be hearing much more from you at the top of the hour in the NEWSROOM. Please join us for that.

Meantime, we want to take you back to the SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS UNIT special, which is "DEATH SQUAD."
