A.J. HAMMER, HOST: The controversy continues. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has totally had it with stars who are famous for nothing. Tonight, your overwhelming response about the Parises and the K-Feds. And a Michael Jackson shocker. Nearly his entire family flat-out broke. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. TV`s most provocative entertainment news show starts right now.
On SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, when stars attack. Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with brand new video of stars fighting back against the paparazzi.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODYGUARD OF CHER: You guys, I called the police on you guys.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

Cher`s posse loses it and even calls in the cops. Seal becomes unglued. Renee Zellweger, Danny Bonaduce - furious and speaking out like never before. Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with the celebrity who is are taking dramatic new steps against the paparazzi. When stars attack.

They were friends. But now, well, they`re enemies. Frenemies. Paris versus Nicole. Denise versus Heather. Even Simon versus Ryan. The nasty fights between former friends.

And fed up with K-Fed. Why did Kevin Federline get booed at his own birthday?

(MUSIC)

Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City. And, man, if you think you`ve heard it all about Paris Hilton, I want you to get a load of this. Paris is going to be a judge in a beauty pageant - the Miss Turkey beauty pageant. Yes, I said judging not competing to be the best Turkey. This is just too good. We`re going to be ruffling some feathers. Coming up.

But first, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is bringing you dramatic new video that proves a point we just keep hammering home. Talent means nothing anymore when it comes to fame. So, tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT would like to invite you to a party - Kevin Federline`s birthday party which took place over the weekend in Las Vegas. And we want you to watch what happens to Britney Spears` ex-husband. In a nutshell, let`s just say the crowd got a little fed up with K-Fed.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice over): Across this great land of ours, Americans are uniting against an annoying and growing trend. The rise of talent-less celebrities whom SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has dubbed "famous-for-nothing stars."

JULIA ALLISON, EDITOR-AT-LARGE, "STAR" MAGAZINE: You have people out there who have literally not done anything and, yet, paparazzi follow their every move.

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is getting all kinds of buzz for calling out the new class of famous-for-nothing stars. These stars court headlines and big bucks while displaying zero talent. And now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you, we, the people, are starting to rebel.

Exhibit A, Kevin Federline celebrated turning the big 3-0 with a big 3-oh no he didn`t.

KEVIN FEDERLINE, RAPPER: I`m trying to (EXPLETIVE DELETED) get words out of my mouth, but I lost them on the rap table when I lost my money!"

(BOOING)

HAMMER: This TMZ video shows Britney Spears` ex getting booed at his own birthday party, his own party in Vegas as he tried once again to pass himself off as a rapper.

FEDERLINE: (EXPLETIVE DELETED)

(BOOING)

MICHAEL HUNDGEN, TMZ: These are people that he invited to the party - are booing him at his own party.

HAMMER: Guess K-Fed forgot to invite the two, maybe three people who bought his last album. And even though his buddy led him off stage, the humiliation remains center stage.

HUNDGEN: Poor guy - 30 years old and nobody likes his music.

HAMMER: But the joke`s on us. The "New York Daily News" reports K- Fed got paid somewhere between $100,000 and $300,000 to throw his party.

HUNDGEN: They get paid in the millions. We are talking big, serious money. Huge appearance fees. I mean the Hilton sisters - they were there for New Year`s Eve and it`s bigger than some of the paychecks they`re getting for their SAG jobs.

HAMMER: In other words, these famous-for-nothing stars are also paid- for-nothing stars, too. No wonder that when we asked in our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day, if talent matters anymore in Hollywood, a whopping 91 percent of you said no.

ALLISON: If you completely confuse people into thinking you`re a star, I have to give you some credit there.

HAMMER: But it seems that as long as they keep getting attention and money, these famous-for-nothing stars will continue to treat the world as their own private party. No matter how loudly we may boo about it.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: I just find that so amusing. Now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT did call Kevin Federline`s people for a response to his disaster in the desert, but, of course in keeping with the spirit of what-happens-in-Vegas-stays-in- Vegas, they said no comment.

Well, tonight, there are startling revelations about Michael Jackson, his family and how much of the former king of pop`s family has hit rock bottom. With me tonight in New York, investigative journalist, Diane Dimond who knows the Jackson family inside and out. She`s also the author of "Be Careful Who You Love: Inside the Michael Jackson Case." Diane, always good to see you.

Now, these revelations coming from a "New York Post" investigation; really unbelievable stuff in here. And of course, the big headline coming off of this, the once fabulously wealthy Jackson family for the most part is now, broke.

You have Marlon, stocking shelves in the supermarket. You have Randy doing odd jobs. Jermaine still owes more than $6 million in back taxes. Diane, you`ve got to help me out with how this is all possible.

DIANE DIMOND, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: Well, you know, if you don`t work and don`t have any money coming in and you didn`t save the money you once made, you find yourself in this position, A.J. It`s really - it`s a sad downfall of a dynasty. They had it all. They lost it all.

Nobody thought that the future would ever come. And remember, these are not people highly educated. And so they can`t now go and be a teacher or a dental hygienist or an accountant. This is their lot in life. They`re stuck broke.

HAMMER: And we`re talking coming off of gobs and gobs of money which is really what makes it all the more shocking. Now, the family is blaming Michael for not only doing nothing to help them, but for breaking big promises. We remember Michael was acquitted back in 2005 on those child molestation charges.

DIMOND: Right.

HAMMER: But his family right there by his side during the trial and Michael even swore that he would regroup with the family, do a big celebration tour. Nothing has happened, Diane. How likely is it that Michael really did sell his family down the river?

DIMOND: Well, that`s what we heard that he promised that he`d do a big tour with them. That`s brother Jermaine`s favorite line, "Oh, yes, we`re going to have a concert anytime soon." But it just never happened.

I guess, A.J., I missed the law where it said that one brother had to always and forever support the rest of the brothers. You know, Michael Jackson`s talent was the cash register for this family for many, many years. And now it just isn`t anymore because he`s got some real financial trouble of his own. He is about, I think, to lose Neverland Ranch or sell Neverland Ranch. I don`t think he`s in a position to really help them out now.

HAMMER: But even if it wasn`t his responsibility, I mean when you look at the relationship between Michael and his family, no love lost there, correct?

DIMOND: Oh, no love lost at all. Mom and dad don`t speak to each other. Janet, Latoya and Michael don`t speak to dad either. Let`s see, Jermaine and Randy don`t speak because they were married to the same woman and had children with the same woman. It is a completely dysfunctional family.

HAMMER: Now, Joe Jackson, of course, is the patriarch of the family. He this whole thing can be turned around and here`s the guy who basically guided their big success.

Look at what he told the "New York Post, "We can get back out there and set the world on fire. If the Rolling Stones can still rake in the money, so, too, can my boys."

I mean, Diane, come on. Is Joe being a little delusional here? The Jacksons setting the world on fire again?

DIMOND: Well, you see they`re very hopeful or completely delusional. Look, these brothers, I suppose, could get together and do some sort of concert tour. Tito still plays in little bands here and there at little casinos and whatnot. They might be able to make a little money, get their checkbooks out of the red and back into the black. But I don`t think they`re ever going to set the world on fire, unless and until Michael Jackson rejoined them. And I just don`t see that happening.

HAMMER: Or maybe they`ll start leaning on the sisters because the Jackson sisters through all this, doing better than the boys. You got Janet Jackson, said to be worth $150 million. Latoya`s a millionaire. Michael, as you mentioned, in serious financial trouble. So what do you think, Diane? Janet and Latoya, perhaps the family`s last hope?

DIMOND: Well, yes. Now, Janet has been the cash register lately. But you know what? She learned from her big brother, A.J. She`s really careful about who she helps and when she helps. She bought her mom a house in Las Vegas. But the brothers? "Hey you know what? You guys didn`t save like I did so you guys can stock shelves or work in an auto body shop."

HAMMER: It is just unbelievable that it has come to this after all these years.

DIMOND: Yes, sad.

HAMMER: Diane Dimond, I thank you so much.

DIMOND: Sure.

HAMMER: And I should point out, we did reach out to the Jackson family for comment. As of show time, we have not heard back from them.

Well, Michael Jackson has certainly tried to keep the paparazzi away for years. We`ve all seen that happen. Tonight, I`ve got other stars on the attack like never before in a dramatic new video.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODYGUARD OF CHER: You guys, I called the police on you guys.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We haven`t done anything.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: That is Cher`s bodyguard going nuts on a paparazzi who got right up in her face. Even Seal flipping out. Danny Bonaduce speaking out like never before. Coming up, when stars attack.

Frenemies. They were friends. Now, well, they`re enemies. Paris versus Nicole. Denise versus Heather. Even Simon versus Ryan. Yes, they used to be tight. Now they fight. But what the heck happened? Coming up, we`ve got a SHOWBIZ TONIGHT special report, "Frenemies."

I know Lenny Kravitz supposedly is hooked up with some of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. Tonight, he`s opening up like never before about why he`s now celibate. This will shock you. You will not want to miss it. Coming up.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, TV`s most provocative entertainment news show. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. And we have two stories that are new right now. I`ve just got to tell you about them.

First up, is some Istanbul-oni. Yes, Paris Hilton is set to be a judge this week in the Miss Turkey beauty pageant. Judging a Miss Turkey? Shouldn`t she be competing as a Turkey?

And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT told you about this first last week. Fifty-year- old Jamie Lee Curtis going topless on the cover of AARP magazine. Wait until you hear the back slapping she is getting for doing this.

Joining me tonight from Los Angeles, executive news editor for "E!", Ken Baker. And in Hollywood tonight, Daphne Brogdon, TV host and standup comic. Daphne, Ken, I want to start off with Paris Hilton`s latest gig.

Man, she is judging the Miss Turkey 2008 pageant. Daphne, is Paris Hilton simply a masochist? Does she not realize attaching her name to anything with the word "turkey" is just a punch line waiting to happen?

DAPHNE BROGDON, TV HOST AND STANDUP COMIC: Exactly. It`s like a gimme in comedy, as we would say. Well, you know, I don`t think she cares. As long as there`s a price tag attached, she will go to it. And I think in the eyes of many of us, she`s already won the Miss Turkey award.

The flip side of this is of course Turkey, while, nominally a secular government, the country is largely Muslim. And I`m thinking that she might get into some trouble, some of the little outfits and ensembles and sort of the shenanigans she gets in, I don`t know if the country`s really going to welcome her.

HAMMER: Oh, good. More headlines from her. Now Ken, as you know, I love to point out the fact you too were once a beauty pageant judge. So Ken, I think you could be of some help here.

KEN BAKER, EXECUTIVE NEWS EDITOR, "E!": Why do you have to bring this up all the time?

HAMMER: It`s just important. I think you can be of assistance to Paris. What are some of the challenges that Miss Hilton faces in deciding the next Miss Turkey?

BAKER: All right. Fair enough. But just for the record, I didn`t judge a beauty pageant in Turkey, OK, or anywhere near Turkey. However, here`s what it is. I looked it up. The Miss Turkey pageant, they base their qualifications on who should win - is based on beauty and intelligence. OK?

So I would be very impressed if Paris maybe learns Turkish for the occasion and is able to inquire and ask questions of the pageant contestants in Turkish. And I did a little more research and I found out that the word "hot," her favorite word, is "kizgin," K-I-Z-G-I-N. If she`s able to throw that out there, I`m going to be really impressed.

HAMMER: Ken, everything you just said is so wrong for so many reasons, but I don`t have time to dwell. So I`m going to move on to the next story new right now.

BROGDON: It`s good, Ken.

HAMMER: Women all over are saying, right on, and rightfully so, to nearly 50-year-old Jamie Lee Curtis who just posed topless and gray haired for AARP magazine. Look how fantastic she looks. Daphne, this hit home for a lot of women, hasn`t it?

BROGDON: Absolutely. I mean so many of us at any age, wouldn`t have the nerve to do that. I feel like Jamie Lee is really striking a blow for the real gal.

And it`s really interesting with her because back like 20 years ago, "Fish Called Wanda," she was like iconic. I mean so many guys she was like their ideal of beauty. And sexy and that she hasn`t seemed stuck in that. She didn`t get her face all chopped up like a lot of Hollywood women have.

And so I think it`s great that she`s laying it out there. And you know what? Her body is still real nice.

HAMMER: Well, you know, a lot of women see these beautiful stars and making it look so easy to be perfect, which we know the reality of that. Listen to what the ladies of "The View" had to say about it today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ELIZABETH HASSELBECK, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": Celebrities, when asked like how they stay fit or what they do, it just kind of blow it up like, oh, I have good genes or I just run around with the kids. Or you know, I walk everywhere. And we know that`s bull and we just want the truth. We want to know, you`re doing 5,000 crunches a day. You have a training. You know, I think giving people the truth is so much better.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Ken Baker, I`ve got ten seconds. But that is the problem. Women don`t really get the truth from the women of Hollywood, do they?

BAKER: You know, yes. Bravo to Jamie Lee Curtis for doing this. And she did it a few years ago. She posed on the cover of "More" magazine practically in her underwear, just showing, "Look, this is how I really look." It`s really refreshing. She`s been able to age gracefully.

HAMMER: Ken Baker, Daphne Brogdon, I thank you both.

All right. So Lenny Kravitz us reportedly dated some of the hottest women in Hollywood. You`ve heard the stories over the years. But for the past couple of years, he`s sworn off of sex. (UNINTELLIGIBLE) he`s doing that. Tonight, Lenny opens up like never before about his vow of celibacy. That is coming up.

Who needs friends when you`ve got frenemies? They were friends - well now, they are enemies. Paris versus Nicole. Denise versus Heather. Hey, even Simon versus Ryan. They used to be tight. Now they fight. What happened? Coming up, a showbiz special report, "Frenemies."

Also this -

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SEAL, POP STAR: I`m not shaking your hand? Why would I shake your hand? Why would I shake hands with scum?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Seal flips out at the paparazzi. He is not the only one. Tonight, a revealing look at stars who are so fed up with the paparazzi taking drastic action like Cher. Danny Bonaduce is speaking out like never before. When stars attack. That is coming up.

But first, it`s our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day. So many of you writing in already. Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, Kevin Federline - why are they so popular? "Famous for what?! Does talent matter anymore in Hollywood?"

You can vote at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. If you have more to say, our E-mail address is showbiztonight@cnn.com. We are coming straight back.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer. Tonight, a surprising revelation from rocker Lenny Kravitz who claims he has not had sex for three years and counting.

Joining me once again from Los Angeles, executive news editor for "E!", Ken Baker. In Hollywood tonight, it`s Daphne Brogdon, TV host and standup comic.

So Lenny once again insisting he`s celibate. Nothing has changed. I want you to listen to what he told the show CBS "Sunday Morning."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LENNY KRAVITZ, ROCKER: I believe in the end that`s going to help me to find the right person so I`m not going to waiver on that. That`s a promise I made to God three years ago.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: All right. Let`s be real now. We`re talking about a guy who`s been linked to everyone from Nicole Kidman to Penelope Cruz, even Madonna. Ken Baker, let me start off with you. I`m thinking this is so not rock and roll. It`s almost hard to believe.

BAKER: Well, I have to say if it`s true that he is celibate and I say "if" because I don`t really believe him. But honestly and of course I have no way to verify whether it`s true or not; but if it is true, I have to say, you know, it`s easy to say I`m going to be celibate after you slept with every woman in Hollywood I mean for the last 20 years. So it`s not like it`s some major feat, you know. I mean it`s sort of like he`s been there and he`s done that. Now, he`s just kind of chilling up. Maybe he needs a break.

HAMMER: Well, you know, he`s looking for the right person. And maybe it`s even going to be a star this time around. Daphne, you hang out there with all the Hollywood types and even go to stores with normal people who aren`t Hollywood types. Who do you think would be the right person for Lenny Kravitz?

BROGDON: Well, you know what I`m thinking is a girl, very famous girl who people have been saying she might be a little lonely, might need a little loving. What about Jennifer Aniston? You know, they`re age appropriate. And you know, I think also would be good for him to connect himself with an A-lister. He needs to kind of - his career could become a little bit more relevant. I like that combo.

HAMMER: I actually think that`s not a bad idea. Jennifer Aniston and Lenny Kravitz. She could be Jenny Kravitz. What are you think, Ken Baker? You probably have a good suggestion here?

BAKER: Well, I think that more appropriately, Lenny should find someone who also is celibate so that they can hook up. They would be a little bit more, you-know-what, for their buck.

However, I have to say that in order to find that, he`s going to have to leave the confines of Hollywood or the celebrity circle. No offense of respectable celebrities out there, but I think to find a celibate celebrity, it`s not going to happen.

HAMMER: So what you`re saying is celibacy an anomaly in Hollywood.

BAKER: I have the feeling that, yes, it is.

HAMMER: OK. Let me make a note of that.

BAKER: It`s shocking, shocking news.

HAMMER: Ken Baker, Daphne Brogdon, thanks for being with us tonight, guys.

All right. Lenny Kravitz may have sworn off sex. Tonight, stars are - well, they`re pretty much swearing off the paparazzi like never before in dramatic new video.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODYGUARD OF CHER: You guys, I called the police on you, guys.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We haven`t done anything.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODY GUARD OF CHER: You know what? You came in the front of her while she was driving.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: You`re looking at Cher`s bodyguard there, not too happy, going nuts on a paparazzo got all up in her face. Even Seal flipping out. Danny Bonaduce is speaking out ferociously. Don`t miss this. When stars attack.

Frenemies. Yes, they were friends but now, well, they`re enemies. Paris versus Nicole. Denise versus Heather. Even Simon versus Ryan. They used to be tight. Now they fight. What happened? Coming up, a showbiz special report, "Frenemies."

Also, a startling development surrounding the horrific car crash with Hulk Hogan`s son, Nick. It is such a sad, sad story. Why it could now cost Hulk millions of dollars. That is coming up.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Here are some more stories that are new right now. A startling development in the car crash involving Hulk Hogan`s son that nearly killed a close friend.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can now tell you that John Graziano is suing Hulk, his soon to be ex-wife Linda and son Nick for negligence and millions of dollars. Graziano`s injuries were massive. His attorneys say he`s in a semi conscious state.

Oy. The Pam Anderson-Rick Salomon on-again, off-again, marriage is now officially over. TMZ reports that a judge has annulled their two-month marriage. Pam had filed papers last month asking for an annulment citing fraud. Now, Rick did the same on Friday and now it`s done so. TMZ says the mysterious fraud was that Pam promised Rick they would have kids together.

And a shocking admission from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. She had thoughts of suicide when she was a single mother in her 20s. Rowling tells Edinburgh University student newspaper she suffered from depression before her book became a huge hit.

Well, we all know that a lot of stars are totally furious with the paparazzi. Tonight, though, I can tell you they`re fighting back like never before.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SEAL: I`m not shaking your hand. Why would I shake your hand? Why would I shake hands with scum?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Seal flips out. You know, he is not the only one. Tonight, we are giving you a revealing look at stars who are so fed up, like Cher`s people who even called the police. Plus, Danny Bonaduce speaking out like never before. When stars attack. That`s coming up.

Also, frenemies. They were friends but now, well, they`re enemies. Paris versus Nicole. Denise versus Heather. Even Simon versus Ryan. They used to be tight. Now they fight. Coming up, a showbiz special report.

And a very frightening time for Tyra Banks. An alleged stalker arrested. I`m going to let you know why she`s not out of danger yet. That is coming up.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We haven`t done anything.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODY GUARD OF CHER: You know what? You came in the front of her while she was driving.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: That was Cher`s bodyguard going off on the paparazzi. And Cher isn`t the only big star who has absolutely had it. They`re telling the paparazzi enough is enough. Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with the big stars who are fighting back.

But which set of former friends have had the biggest, nastiest knock down, drag out frenemy battle of them all? Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT counts down the most outrageous frenemies in Hollywood.

(MUSIC)

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City. You are watching TV`s most provocative entertainment news show.

Well, tonight, it`s when stars attack. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT bringing you more dramatic video of what happens when stars have had it with being harassed by the paparazzi.

Look at this. Over the weekend, superstar Cher could not escape the paparazzi. She was just doing some shopping, out and about in Los Angeles. Cher`s bodyguard blew her stack. The cops were called and as you see, it was all caught on tape.

Joining us tonight in New York, Marc Lamont Hill assistant professor of urban education in American studies at Temple University. Also tonight, in Miami, Michael Cohen, Miami editor for "In Touch Weekly." And in Hollywood tonight, entertainment reporter, Shira Lazar.

Gang, it got really ugly over the weekend. I want you to take a look at the vicious exchange of words that happened between the paparazzi and Cher`s bodyguard. And I want you to watch what happens when the photographer tries to get a shot off of Cher. Watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODYGUARD OF CHER: You guys, I called the police on you, guys.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We haven`t done anything.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODY GUARD OF CHER: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) You know what? You came in the front of her while she was driving.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: No, I didn`t.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODY GUARD OF CHER: Yes, you did.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODY GUARD OF CHER: This guy -

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: No, I got it on tape. I wasn`t even there. That`s not even true.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODY GUARD OF CHER: You`re here and -putting us on tape. What for?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Go inside. That`s my job. Why are you attacking us? Why are you trying to run down cars?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BODY GUARD OF CHER: (UNINTELLIGIBLE)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Clearly, the bodyguard not a happy camper there. Marc Lamont Hill, let me start off with you. Now, let`s keep in mind here Cher was with walking in a public street. Did Cher`s bodyguard have a right to be so steamed?

MARC LAMONT HILL, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, TEMPLE UNIVERSITY: I think so. I mean we live in a world between 24-hour news and the Internet and the gossip sites. I mean we live in a world where people feel like that they deserve access to innermost parts of celebrity lives.

If a celebrity wants to be left alone, if they just want to go shopping or wake up in the morning with crust in their eye, or looking crazy with their hair, I mean that should be OK. And if they say back off, they should understand that. If not, I understand the bodyguard`s going off.

HAMMER: Now, Michael Cohen -

MICHAEL COHEN, MIAMI EDITOR, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": I think -

HAMMER: Michael Cohen, let me ask you because right there, you know, the paparazzi said, "Hey, I`m just doing my job," when the bodyguard said, "Why are you here?"

COHEN: It is true. It is true. First of all, Cher`s bodyguard made a very big mistake there. Now, she caused such a stir and it`s going to backfire, because now Cher is in the news. And now, more paparazzi will go after her. If she would have just left them alone, then nothing - wouldn`t be so sensationalized.

SHIRA LAZAR, ENTERTAINMENT REPORTER: But that`s her job.

COHEN: And you know what?

LAZAR: That`s her job as the bodyguard. She is hired to protect Cher.

LAMONT-HILL: Exactly.

LAZAR: It`s not about - it`s their taking the pictures that are off but how they`re going about doing it and they`re putting other people at risk.

COHEN: Protect her from what? A camera? Protect her from what? A camera? And lately, honestly, Cher hasn`t had a picture in too many glossies, so she should be happy.

HAMMER: Well, you know, this is something that obviously has been going on for sometime. And more immediately, it`s coming right on the heels of Seal, the singer, and his wife, supermodel Heidi Klum, having their own little confrontation with the paparazzi. And of course, this was also caught on tape. Let`s look at this. It`s what happened when a paparazzo asked to shake Seal`s hand. You`ve got to see Seal`s reaction.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SEAL: I`m not shaking your hand. Why would I shake your hand? Why would I shake hands with scum?

PAPARAZZO: I like your music though. Why does it got to be all that?

PAPARAZZO: He`s just giving you props.

SEAL: I don`t need any props.

PAPARAZZO: He`s the guy that spends money and supports you. You want to treat him like that? And he`s a brother. You want to treat him like that? He`s a man just like you are.

SEAL: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) cockroach, just like you. You ruin people`s lives.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Now, this was actually kind of an unusual scene for a lot of people to see because Seal and Heidi are known as two of the nicest people around in the business. As you saw, Seal not at all happy there, but they`re celebrities. People want to see them. They`re out in public.

Shira, let me go to you on this. Are they sort of biting the hand that feeds them? Because they need the press.

LAZAR: Oh, yes, definitely. But when you see people like celebrities - like Seal and perhaps even George Clooney fighting back at the press and the paparazzi, you know that something`s wrong because they`re typically pretty easy with it.

In this case, I see the paparazzi and I see their - you know, they want their hands to be shaken. They`re trying to be nice. But they`re also instigating these celebrities and they`re trying to get that reaction, too. I think it`s pretty obvious from this footage.

COHEN: Yes, but celebrities supposed to rise above it all. You know, celebrities are supposed to be class acts -

LAMONT-HILL: No.

COHEN: They`re not supposed to - yes, they are.

LAMONT-HILL: They`re people.

LAZAR: Sometimes, they cash in on a bad day.

LAMONT-HILL: They`re people. We all -

LAZAR: That was not a bad day, I mean, come on.

LAMONT-HILL: We all have - we all have nice -

LAZAR: We also crack sometimes -

LAMONT-HILL: Exactly.

LAZAR: And unfortunately for celebrities, it is caught and it`s put in front of millions of people. And it happens.

LAMONT-HILL: And it shouldn`t be.

COHEN: Sorry.

LAMONT-HILL: And it` shouldn`t be. It`s despicable.

LAZAR: I don`t know about that. I think that`s a bit idealistic and I used to think it won`t be put in front millions of people.

LAMONT-HILL: I`m not saying it won`t be. I`m saying it shouldn`t be. I`m saying that, of course, if you`re a celebrity, you make a concession that your life is going to be public. But if I`m stumbling drunk out of a nightclub - not me, but someone else, at 2:00 in the morning, you know, they should respect my privacy and give some (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

COHEN: Why should they?

(CROSS TALK)

COHEN: No way.

HAMMER: Hold on a second. Hold on a second. Because of course this keeps going back to the age-old question, you know, as a celebrity, are you selling your right to privacy and there are certainly a lot of celebrities -

COHEN: You are.

HAMMER: There are certainly a lot of celebrities that say, "You know what? It goes with the territory." Danny Bonaduce is one who`s very outspoken about this. I want you to watch what Danny told me.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DANNY BONADUCE, FORMER CHILD STAR: If you think that the fact that I see these mad dashes to see Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and the paparazzi will barely let them in the door of a very expensive restaurant that I can`t even afford to get into, if you think Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are going to get my sympathy, you`re sadly mistaken. They have sold their privacy. They have gone out of their way to do so. They have made a very comfortable living at it and they knew what they were getting into.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Marc Lamont Hill, what do you think about that?

COHEN: I agree with that.

LAMONT-HILL: With all due respect to Danny Bonaduce and the rest of the "Partridge Family," people like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, have a level of media scrutiny that he could never even imagine. They watch these people go to the bathroom. They watch them go shopping. You can`t have a momentary slip up. And that is beyond the boundaries of what`s reasonable and respectable.

HAMMER: But what he says to me beyond that is he said, "Well, if that were to happen, bring it on because that`s what`s what I`m asking for." Michael Cohen?

COHEN: Right. You know, I agree like - The thing about Paris and the thing about Britney is they`re smart because they know - they made friends with the paparazzi. You know, they`re smart. They sold themselves. They know it`s part of the gig. And the more they`re friendly with them and the more, you know, they`re like, saying, "Shoot me now," the less the paparazzi are really interested.

You know, the more you put up this wall and the more you`re a diva, you`re so fierce, the more they`re going to go after you. And when you`re in public streets and you`re a celebrity, you give up that right.

Now, if it`s in your home, you know what? That`s a whole different story. I don`t condone any of that. But in your four walls that you live in, that`s your space. Step on the sidewalk, honey, you`re fair game.

HAMMER: Got to end it there. Michael Cohen, Marc Lamont-Hill, Shira Lazar, I appreciate you all being with us tonight.

All right. So what do you get when someone who used to be your friend becomes your enemy? That`s pretty simple. You get a frenemy. I got to tell you, Hollywood is lousy with them. But I ask you, which set of former friends have had the biggest, the nastiest, knock down drag out frenemy battle of them all? Well, we`re counting them down as a countdown you don`t want to miss. Coming up.

Also a very scary time for Tyra Banks. Listen to this. An alleged stalker has been arrested outside the building where Tyra tapes her talk show. I`ve got to tell you, I think this is pretty scary stuff. And even though he was arrested, Tyra may not be out of danger yet. I`ll tell you why.

Also, Jennifer Aniston teaming up with Oprah. What the heck could these two possibly have planned? I`ll give you a hint. It looks pretty big. That`s coming up.

We`ve been asking you to vote on the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day - "Famous for What?! Does talent matter in Hollywood anymore?" Keep voting at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. Or you can E-mail us showbiztonight@cnn.com if you`ve got more to say.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. This is TV`s most provocative entertainment news show.

All right. You know that old saying, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer?" Well, tonight, a showbiz special report, best frenemies ever. The Hollywood stars who were once friends but became enemies. The stars we love to hate and, well, who love to hate each other. We are now counting down the top four best frenemies of all time.

Joining me tonight from Hollywood, senior editor for "In Touch Weekly," Kim Serafin. Here in New York, red carpet correspondent for VH1 News, Janelle Snowden.

All right, guys. Let`s kick off our countdown at number four on the frenemies list. Two ladies who really seem to start out in a loving relationship, that, as we now know, quickly sank into full-on frenemy status, and right there on live television. Of course, I`m talking about Rosie O`Donnell and Elizabeth Hasselbeck on "The View," who went at it last year about the war in Iraq. Watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ROSIE O`DONNELL, FORMER CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": I want to know what people like you - but you are my friend since September. Do you believe that I think our troops are terrorists?

ELIZABETH HASSELBECK, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": I didn`t -

O`DONNELL: And you would not even look me in the face, Elizabeth, and say -

HASSELBECK: What are you talking about? I asked you -

O`DONNELL: "No, Rosie. I can understand why people might have thought that." Why don`t you take this opportunity like I`m six?

HASSELBECK: Because you are an adult -

O`DONNELL: And so are you.

HASSELBECK: And I am certainly not going to be the person for you to explain your thoughts. They are your thoughts. Defend your own insinuations.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, we all know it even got uglier. Rosie left the show. We are taking sides tonight. Kim Serafin, which frenemy has your support?

KIM SERAFIN, SENIOR EDITOR, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": Oh my gosh. If you think I`m taking sides in this one, you are so wrong. You know, certainly Rosie O`Donnell who was able to hold her own against someone like Donald Trump and Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

Look, I used to work in politics. It is hard to be one person who believes something on a panel of four people who disagree with you. So the two of them are both very tough. Of course, Elizabeth is the one that stayed on "The View." And it`s still there, still going up - her, you know, against three people often. But, yes, this one - this one I want to stay out of. The two of them scare me. They`re both very good at what they do.

HAMMER: All right. Kim, with a little political correctness there, I mean we have to weigh on you, Janelle.

JANELLE SNOWDEN, RED CARPET CORRESPONDENT, "VH1 NEWS": Oh, wow. The pressure, the pressure. You know, it is a tough one, I have to agree because, in a sense, I think both ladies were wrong. I think that Rosie was wrong for bringing what was obviously a personal feud to the air. I mean talk about a daytime drama.

But I also think that given that they were so-called friends, Elizabeth maybe could have stepped in and defended her because as her friend, she had to know that Rosie didn`t really mean to call the U.S. troops terrorists. So I think that they were both wrong.

I mean some people would say Elizabeth got the last laugh because she`s still on the show. But they have to remember that Rosie actually chose to end her contract early. She wasn`t booted off.

HAMMER: Yes, I don`t think Rosie is suffering at all. We need to move on as our countdown continues towards number one on our top frenemies list.

In the number three spot, we have Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell. Now, on "American Idol," these guys were one-time best buds who really go on teasing each other about everything from their hair to their clothes. Now, the buzz is while it may have at one time been for ratings, not the case anymore. Janelle, you`ve got to pick a side here. Simon or Ryan?

SNOWDEN: You know, I think as a fellow host, I`m going to pick Ryan`s side. But I know that`s really, really like risky going against Simon. But, I mean, come on. I think in the beginning like any self-respecting person said, "Gosh, this guy is coming at me pretty harshly, so I`ve got to defend myself." So at first, Ryan started off kind of on the defensive. And maybe now it`s turned to offensive but, I mean, do you blame the guy? Come on. Like Simon really pushes his buttons.

HAMMER: I`m going to chime in on this one. I`m right there with you. Kim, whose camp you in?

SERAFIN: I mean I`m going to have to say Ryan, too. But I think a lot of this is for TV, as well. You know, Ryan was just the cover boy on "Details" magazine`s maverick issue. I was at the "Details" party on Thursday that they had for Ryan and Simon was there. So these are people that do this on camera. It`s part of their schtick -

HAMMER: Sure.

SERAFIN: And even Ryan said, "Yes, we say things on camera. But then, we can go out and have a piece of pizza afterwards."

HAMMER: All right. Got to move it on as we continue the countdown. We`re at number two on frenemies list, probably just plain old enemies at this point. Denise Richards, former best friend of Heather Locklear. Because when Denise broke up with Charlie Sheen, she started dating Heather`s ex, Richie Sambora.

Now, Richie and Heather were over, but still it`s like breaking some kind of a friend`s code, isn`t it, Kim? Kim, can we really pick sides on this one?

SERAFIN: This is another one. You`re picking all the ones that are hard to pick sides on, because you feel bad for both sides. And then, also, you say, well both sides made mistakes.

You know, Denise has come out and said that it was portrayed in the media her and Heather were best friends. Well, apparently, they weren`t best friends. I mean they were close friends.

And she also says, you know, the marriage between Richie and Heather was over before things started with Denise and Richie.

So, you know - and of course, Denise now, she is certainly had her own problems. But now she`s going on doing a reality show.

(CROSS TALK)

HAMMER: All right. I got to jump in here because, ladies, I need you to stay where you are. We`re not done yet. After the break, we`re getting to the moment everybody`s been waiting for - our number one frenemies. And we`ll tell you why they could actually become BFFs once again. Don`t go away.

Also a very scary time for Tyra. An alleged stalker arrested outside the building where Tyra tapes her talk show. Very scary. Even though he was arrested, Tyra may not be out of danger yet. I`ll tell you why.

Plus, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, they`re kind of the poster celebrities for doing good, always talking about one charity or another. But I want to know, do they put their money where their mouth is? Well, we`ve got our hands on some tax documents that tell the story. Coming up.

Also Brad`s ex, Jennifer Aniston, teaming up with Oprah. What could these two have planned? I will give you a hint. It looks pretty big. That`s ahead on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer. We`re picking sides as we count down our top four frenemies. They start out as best friends and then in an instant, something or perhaps someone makes the relationship go south. It is tonight`s showbiz special report.

And joining me once again from Hollywood, senior editor for "In Touch Weekly," Kim Serafin. And here in New York, red carpet correspondent for "VH1 News," Janelle Snowden.

Ladies, I hope you`re ready and I want to recap right here where we`re at, at this point. At number four, Rosie O`Donnell and Elizabeth Hasselbeck. In at number three, Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest. And nearing the top, at the number two spot, Denise Richards and Heather Locklear.

Paul on audio, I`d like a drum roll, please. (DRUM ROLL) Thank you very much. The number one spot on the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT frenemies countdown goes to these ladies, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. Childhood friends, TV buds in "The Simple Life." They had a big falling out after all of that, and now supposedly they`re buds again. Janelle, let me start with you - Paris or Nicole? Whose "Simple Life" camp are you residing in?

SNOWDEN: You know what? You really can`t ask me to pick sides about this. This is crazy.

HAMMER: You want to be with them both?

SNOWDEN: You know, I`ll say this. You don`t know who to pick sides because it just seems like these girls are like the masters at one up- manship or one up-womanship, you know, whatever you want to say. Like Paris was - Nicole had a baby by one of the Madden brothers. And now, Paris is dating one of them and there are the pregnancy rumors.

It`s just like, you know, their lives are pretty parallel so you would think they have reason to be friends. But I`m not going to even begin to choose one on this one because I don`t want to look stupid next week. You know, I`ll say Paris today and next week I`ll say Nicole.

HAMMER: All right. Over to you, Kim.

SERAFIN: Yes. You know, Janelle is right. The two of them are so similar in the fact that, yes, Nicole just had a baby with Joel Madden. Paris is now dating Benji Madden. Brothers so they could be sister-in-laws soon. They`d been best friends since childhood. I mean - and the two of them are very good at keeping the names in the news, keeping the publicity up.

I mean would anyone who have really watched that - I don`t know, third or fourth season of, you know, of their show if they hadn`t been in a fight? I mean that sort of kept it in the news.

To this day, I wonder, was it a real fight? I don`t know. The two of them are very good at that. They will be friends, then maybe they won`t be friends. They`ll be friends again. These two totally are the exact word to describe as frenemies. I mean I think it`s perfect.

HAMMER: It is exactly - It is exactly right. Janelle, though, what do you think? I have 20 seconds. Is there hope for humanity if these two can become BFFs once again and put the frenemy label behind them?

SNOWDEN: I think it says a lot about the state of humanity if we`re using them as our scale. OK?

HAMMER: Yes. Maybe that`s a pretty good place to end things tonight. What do you think? Kim Serafin, Janelle Snowden - no frenemies there. I appreciate you being here with us tonight.

And we want you now to know that you can watch video reports from SHOWBIZ TONIGHT any time you`d like. Just go to our Web site because new ones are posted all the time. You`ll find our Web site at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight.

HAMMER: Well, it was a very scary time for Tyra Banks and it continues to be so. An alleged stalker has been arrested outside the building where Tyra tapes her talk show. It is such a scary situation.

And I`ve got to tell you, even though this guy was arrested, Tyra may not be out of danger yet. I`m going to fill you in on exactly why. Coming up next on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: And welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer. Here are some more stories that are new right now. A man accused of stalking Tyra Banks was arrested outside the building where her talk show is taped in New York.

But here`s the thing. He`s already been released without bail. Now, this guy allegedly has followed Tyra around the country and a producer of the show reportedly says a protection order probably won`t be enough to keep him away. He is being charged with stalking, criminal trespass and harassment violation. He`s due back in court in May.

Well, when it comes to charity, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie really put their money where their mouth is. The couple gave more than $8 million to charity in 2006 according to newly-released tax documents. Now, that doesn`t include all the work that they did in 2007 when Brad Pitt`s Make It Right Foundation raised $5 million for rebuilding New Orleans.

And Brad`s ex, Jennifer Aniston may have something big up her sleeve. Aniston will make an appearance on the April 20th episode of Oprah`s Big Give. She is supposed to be announcing big news. There`s no word yet on what that big news will be.

So it seems we really touched a cord on Friday when we did a story asking what are these people famous for between Paris Hilton and Kevin Federline, not to mention the likes of Lauren Conrad. We just wanted to know, why are these people famous?

Well, we got an overwhelming response when we asked you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day, which was - "Famous for what!?!? Does talent matter anymore in Hollywood?" I was pretty lopsided here. Only nine percent of you said yes; 91 percent of you said no.

A lot of E-mail came in too, including one form Ann in Florida. Ann writes, "It is truly disgusting how much attention we give to the nobodies with absolutely no talent!"

Now, this one from Wendy in North Carolina particularly caught my eye, Wendy writing, "I think instead of talent being the basis for success, it all depends on what kind of body you have, how big your breasts are, how pretty you are, and how much skin you are willing to show."

You can keep voting by going to CNN.com/ShowbizTonight and you can continue to send us your E-mail, as well.

And that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thank you so much for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Don`t forget, you can always catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on the 11:00s - at 11:00 p.m. Eastern, 11:00 p.m. Pacific, and in the morning, at 11:00 a.m. Eastern. The very latest from "CNN HEADLINE NEWS" is coming up next. Have a great night.
