(MUSIC PLAYING)

Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

And tonight, a dramatic, mysterious Jon and Kate announcement. Will they separate?

But first, Sarah Jessica`s surrogate shocker. Tonight, brand-new reports of a truly unbelievable plot to break into the home of the woman who`s having twins for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. And I`ve got to tell you, this case has my blood boiling.

Two police officer chiefs - yes, police chiefs - are reportedly under investigation for allegedly planning this break-in to sell information about the woman to the tabloids. Just when you thought you had heard it all. Tonight, we have the stunning reaction from Parker and Broderick themselves and the explosive case that`s making big news right now.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

SARAH JESSICA PARKER, ACTRESS: I am greatly concerned for her health and safety and for the safety and safe delivery of our children.

HAMMER (voice-over): A terrified Sarah Jessica Parker told "Access Hollywood" that the surrogate mom carrying her twins is being targeted by tabloids and fame-hungry stalkers.

PARKER: I didn`t think - I thought pretty much all the lines had been crossed.

HAMMER: Now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you, Parker, may have even more reason to be afraid. An explosive investigation is reportedly under way into an outlandish alleged plot to dig up dirt on Parker`s surrogate to sell to the tabloids.

More shocking than that, the people reportedly under investigation in the case are cops. An even more shocking, they`re both chiefs of police.

MIKE WALTERS, TMZ: Tabloid reporters trying to get into stuff to get information is one thing. I can`t believe that this is actually happening.

HAMMER: The surrogate is carrying twin girls for Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband, Matthew Broderick. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is not identifying the woman, but some tabloids are. And the thirst for gossip about her is at the center of this alleged plot, which was first reported by a local Ohio TV station.

WALTERS: The allegation here is that two police chiefs in a small town in the area where the surrogate mother for Sarah Jessica Parker who`s holding her babies lives, actually conspired and broke into this woman`s house.

HAMMER: TMZ`s Mike Walters tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT someone may have been trying to cash in on the interest in the "Sex and the City" star`s unborn children.

WALTERS: The motive here was, allegedly, they were going in to try to get items, information and even pictures including audio from a phone message bank to sell to tabloids.

HAMMER: Neither police chief has been charged, and both reportedly are still on the job. At least one of them, Martins Ferry, Ohio police chief Barry Carpenter says he`s innocent.

Still, TMZ`s Walters tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT investigators like their evidence so far.

WALTERS: A law enforcement source did tell us, though, that they have meat in this case. In other words, they have hard evidence against the people that are allegedly involved in the crime.

HAMMER: This is exactly the kind of nightmare scenario Sarah Jessica Parker was talking about last month when she told "Access Hollywood" about the harassment her surrogate faces.

PARKER: The most unsavory things have been done. I mean, she`s had her phone hacked, her personal computer information hacked. She`s had threats against her and true harassment.

HAMMER: Parker also said she fears all the attention could affect the health of the surrogate and the unborn girls.

PARKER: Obviously, there are those that don`t care about her or her health or safety. Or my children`s health and safety and that they should go to term and not go into an early labor and, god forbid, suffer all the things that can happen. And that is a real possibility.

HAMMER: In a statement, Matthew Broderick`s representative tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, quote, "Matthew and Sarah Jessica have complete faith in the legal system. But because it`s a criminal investigation, we will not be making any more comment. What I can say is the entire family looks forward to the healthy delivery of their daughters later on this summer."

PARKER: It keeps me up every night. It`s really incredibly upsetting.

HAMMER: And this investigation is one more thing to weigh on the mind of this famous expectant mother.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

I`ve got to tell you, this story is weighing on the minds of a lot of people just outraged over the idea that Sarah Jessica`s kids may have been put at risk in such a brazen way.

Joining me tonight in Hollywood is Arthel Neville, who`s a TV journalist. In New York tonight, Vinnie Politan, who is a Sirius XM Satellite Radio host.

When I first heard about this alleged plot to break into the home of Sarah Jessica Parker`s surrogate, I had to read the story twice to make sure I was getting it right. Vinnie, are you with me that if these allegations prove to be true, it`s just plain sick?

VINNIE POLITAN, SIRIUS AND XM SATELLITE RADIO HOST: This is so wrong on so many levels, A.J. And it starts with law enforcement. You know, you hear Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick say, you know, "We trust the system."

But the system starts with the police. That`s where it starts. And apparently, according to the allegations here, you can`t trust the police. And we`re not talking about cops on the street. We`re talking about the highest level of local police, the chiefs violating the public trust here.

And if these allegations are true, this is absolutely outrageous, A.J. And on top of it all, you look at the motivation. The motivation is sick.

HAMMER: Yes. It`s for money and for the tabloids. And I`m also thinking, who really wants to read this, anyway? Anybody who`s buying that story, I don`t want to know that person. That may just be me, but that`s how I`m feeling.

POLITAN: No, I`m with you on that, A.J. I don`t know where this fascination is with the woman who is helping this couple out bringing life into this world. There`s nothing crazy about it. There`s nothing scandalous about it. It`s merely a couple trying to have children. There`s thousands of Americans that do this all the time.

HAMMER: Yes.

POLITAN: I don`t know why it`s such a sensation. I don`t want to read about it.

HAMMER: No bounds to tabloid journalism. And again, this is not the first time Sarah Jessica Parker and her hubby had to worry about the safety of their unborn twins. I want you to listen to what Sarah Jessica Parker recently told my colleague, "Access Hollywood`s" Billy Bush, about the harassment her surrogate is dealing with. Take a look at this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PARKER: There are those that don`t care about her, or her health, or safety. Or my children`s health and safety and that they should go to term and not go into an early labor and, God forbid, suffer all the things that can happen. And that is a real possibility.

It keeps me up every night. It`s really incredibly upsetting to think of her so far away and me not being able to do something.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. She says she feels powerless in the situation. Now, one of the accused cops reportedly says he`s innocent, so does his department. And so far the other one is not talking. This investigation is just getting under way.

But Arthel, to a point that Vinnie was just making, the mere fact that police officers, two chiefs of police, no less, would even raise suspicion, this has to make stars like Sarah Jessica think, "Hey, who the heck can I trust anymore?"

ARTHEL NEVILLE, TV JOURNALIST: Absolutely. I think it`s despicable. And if these guys are involved in any way, in any iota of involvement here, they need to be thrown into the jail cell, the key tossed out of the window. Because, really, what`s at issue here is - first of all, I don`t subscribe to the fact that every facet of a celebrity`s life is up for public consumption.

What`s really at issue here is the health of these babies. Because premature babies could suffer a lifelong, really bad and complicated issues.

HAMMER: Yes. And just to think what it`s putting Sarah Jessica through right now and Matthew - it`s reprehensible. They are two of the nicest people in showbiz as you well know, Arthel.

Let`s move on to another big story making big news right now, Chris Brown and Rihanna facing off in court on Monday. Now, Rihanna is scheduled to take the stand. She says she`s ready to show up in this hearing.

And the whole reason for this hearing is to determine if Chris Brown`s assault case actually is going to go to trial. Vinnie, if Rihanna`s testimony is anything like that, very explicit statement she made to police detailing a pretty horrific beating, I`d have to imagine Chris Brown is sweating a little bit here.

POLITAN: Oh, he`s sweating a little bit. But you know, part of what`s happening here - this is the preliminary hearing. And part of this is posturing. The defense is going to get the witnesses up on the stand, get them to tell their story, lock them into a story, look for places where they could perhaps do some damage if it goes to trial.

I think really the motivation here for Geragos and for Chris Brown is to see, "Can we put a few holes into the prosecution`s case, raise a little bit of doubt?" Not enough to keep it from going to trial, perhaps enough to get a better deal down the road.

HAMMER: Arthel, let me ask you this. Rihanna has said she just wants to move on, put this all behind her. But is that really even possible in any major way? I mean, this was life-changing for both of them here.

NEVILLE: I think it is possible for Rihanna to put this behind her. I think once she gets up there and tells the judge her story, it is going to be over. I`m not saying it`s going to be over tomorrow, but it will be over for her soon.

But what`s going to be the question here really, A.J., is, will it be over for Chris Brown? Because if it goes to trial and these details are really explicit, then he`s going to have problems. His fans will turn on him.

HAMMER: Yes.

NEVILLE: However, if Rihanna speaks in a pretrial situation, I think it could go away for him, too. I think they both want it to go away, quite frankly.

HAMMER: We`ll watch and see what happens on Monday. Arthel Neville, Vinnie Politan, I thank you both.

Well, tonight, there are breaking developments in the Jon and Kate Gosselin marriage meltdown. The reality TV stars making a dramatic announcement that affects their lives forever. Are they separating?

Also, the backlash after Kate is caught on tape spanking one of her eight kids.

Billy Joel`s big breakup. Tonight, inside his split from wife number three. What happened here? And with his marriage kaput, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is asking, should Billy get back together with his ex, Christie Brinkley?

Also this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ANGELINA JOLIE, ACTRESS: I hate crying in this program. I think of him and I can`t complain about anything. I can`t do anything but be grateful for what I have.

HAMMER: Tonight, Angelina Jolie breaking down in tears in a brand-new interview. What made her cry? Plus, her revelations about adding to her brood. Is baby number seven already in the works? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

Now, it`s time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news right now.

SACHA BARON-COHEN, ACTOR (as Bruno): What`s up, CNN? Right, looking great. I don`t want any attention.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: A big, big shout out from Bruno to our sister network CNN at the London premiere of "Bruno" which, of course, stars Sacha Baron Cohen. Bruno and friends made their entrance in skimpy versions of the uniforms worn by Buckingham Palace guards. I`m quite sure those adjustments were not approved by the queen. "Bruno" opens this side of the pond on July 10th.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

Tonight, did you see this? It is the most famous fly in the world. Now, I don`t know about you, but I remember the good old days when somebody swatting a fly did not make the national news. That, of course, was before President Obama did it on camera, no less. And now the buzz has reached epic proportions.

Here`s CNN`s Jeanne Moos for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

JEANNE MOOS, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): President Obama wouldn`t hurt a fly.

BARACK OBAMA, UNITED STATES PRESIDENT: Get out of here.

MOOS: He wouldn`t hurt it, he`d kill it.

JOHN HARWOOD, CNBC CORRESPONDENT: Nice.

MOOS: The buzz in the press is full of admiration.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Don`t mess with him.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And he`s one for one.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The guts.

MOOS: Everyone kept comparing it to the chopstick scene.

PAT MORITA, ACTOR: I will catch fly with chopstick. Accomplish anything.

MOOS: From "The Karate Kid."

RALPH MACCHIO, ACTOR: Hey, hey. Look - Mr. Miyagi, look!

MOOS: Look at what they`re calling the president - a human fly swatter having a Dirty Harry moment.

CLINT EASTWOOD, ACTOR (as Harry Callahan): Go ahead. Make my day.

OBAMA: So I got the sucker.

MOSS: That sucker has become the most famous fly, dead or alive, on planet earth.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: After the interview, the president bent over and picked up that fly with a napkin. Unexpectedly, it turned out to be Jeff Goldblum.

MOOS: Jeff Goldblum - star of "The Fly."

JEFF GOLDBLUM, ACTOR (as Seth Brundle): I`d like to become the first insect politician.

MOOS: The macho fly swat bugged PETA. The animal rights group`s reaction sounded like a fortune cookie proverb, "He isn`t the Buddha. He`s a human being. And human beings have a long way to go before they think before they act."

Obama supporters do occasionally portray him as Buddha. During one of the presidential debates, a fly perched on then-Senator Obama`s head and lived to buzz about it.

OBAMA: In the hills between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

MOOS: Now, it`s the Web that`s fly-infested with parody videos. Ninja parodies. The last seconds of the Obama fly as seen through the fly`s eyes. Another features a talking fly.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Mom, did you see where Dad flew off to?

MOOS: And a touching sendoff. From taps to "Flight of the Bumblebee" captioned in Hungarian.

(on camera): But at least, when the president of the United States kills a fly, he doesn`t eat it. Unlike Chase the flying-eating dog, maybe the human fly swatter could teach this first dog, Bo.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: If the president ate the fly, that would have been something, huh? That`s CNN`s Jeanne Moos for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

Well, tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook fans are just fired up about Lindsay Lohan`s topless photos. Now, Lindsay sent this photo out through Twitter herself. Her reason? She was bored.

Well, that is just not good enough for Melissa M. She writes this on the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook wall, "I think that this picture is very inappropriate and should not be posted for public view. Think of all the children that like her. What if they saw this? What a shame that would be. She should be very ashamed of this."

Zach C. is totally fed up and disgusted with Lindsay. This is what Zach is writing on the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook wall, "This is too explicit for the world to see. Is she trying to get attention or trying to just prove something. Either way, it`s sad that since she wants attention, she must draw it to herself this way. Sad."

And it`s not just Lindsay`s overexposure that`s firing up SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook fans. Jada Pinkett-Smith`s TMI moment on "The View" about her sex life with her husband, Will Smith, also causing a raging debate.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JADA PINKETT-SMITH, ACTRESS: Will and I are very adventurous - I`ll put it that way. So we -

BARBARA WALTERS, CO-HOST AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, "THE VIEW": 18 years, you`ve got to be adventurous.

PINKETT-SMITH: That`s right. I`m telling you, you have to be.

WALTERS: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) . the kitchen table? What are you talking about?

PINKETT-SMITH: It might not necessarily be our kitchen table.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Andreina C. is totally annoyed, writing this on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook wall, "I think that celebs should know what to share and what not. If they over-share, people would want to know more and more, and they will complain about people not respecting their privacy when they were the ones that started sharing all those details.

Well, I would love to hear from you on Facebook. If you`d like to become a fan, all you have to do is head on over to CNN.com/ShowbizTonight and click on that Facebook logo.

Jennifer Aniston`s love life has certainly been one big open book. But is her rocky off screen love life following her on the big screen? Tonight, her brand-new movie, and the script just sounds like a page out of her own dating drama. So what`s the deal? Is life imitating art, or is it the other way around?

Plus, Levi Johnston, the superstar, the father of Sarah Palin`s grandson on a mission to make it big in Hollywood.

Also this.

HAMMER: Did you see this? A young woman in Belgium says she fell asleep and woke up with these 56 stars tattooed on her face. She says she asked for three little points and went to sleep so she couldn`t feel the pain.

And then, bam, she`s seeing stars. And now, she`s suing. The artist says it didn`t go down that way and she only freaked out when her dad saw the tat.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer. So this tattoo story is just totally unreal. I mean, take a look at this again. It`s got everybody buzzing. But there is at least one person who is not buying the whole "I fell asleep" deal. And that would be Whoopi Goldberg. This morning on "The View," Whoopi went off.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

WHOOPI GOLDBERG, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": I have a tattoo. I have several of these on my body. Let me tell you something. If there`s a guy with a little needle that`s going in and out of your face for 56 stars and you don`t feel it, you`re high. OK. You didn`t fall asleep; you were high.

And when your mom and dad come in and go, "What the hell?" And you go, "I don`t know. I fell asleep. He did it." No, little girl. You asked for it and you don`t like the way it looks now. And I know you all the way in Belgium, but this will get to you.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Now, for the record, we don`t know if the girl was on drugs. But the tattoo artist does say that he is willing to pay for half of the cost to remove those stars.

All right. Moving on, tonight, the Jonas Brothers unplugged. CNN`s "LARRY KING LIVE" got an unprecedented all access pass to hit the road with the Jo Bros on their world tour for a look at the pandemonium, the hectic schedule and what really happens backstage.

But things got kind of serious when Larry asked Nick Jonas about his relationship with "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus. Of course, their romance ended last year. But since she`s now back on the market after a recent breakup, are Nick and Miley patching things up? Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LARRY KING, HOST, LARRY KING LIVE: People want to know, what`s going on with you and Miley Cyrus? I asked her father last night.

NICK JONAS, THE JONAS BROTHERS: I watched it.

KING: And he was very nice about you.

N. JONAS: He did say some very nice things about me.

KING: How is that going?

N. JONAS: It`s good. I think it`s nice to reconnect with her. For a little while there, we had not been as reconnected as we are now. And it`s good to have a friend back.

KING: You`re young. You`re not thinking seriously? I don`t want to put words in your mouth.

N. JONAS: Yes, I think - I agree. I`m still very young - 16. And I`ve got a lot of life left to live. I`m just enjoying.

TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

And tonight, two brand-new stories making big news right now. First up, heartbreak. The piano man, Billy Joel, announces he is splitting up with wife number three. That is just one story people cannot stop buzzing about.

First up, hey, Billy Joel`s in the divorce state of mind. He`s moving out. Marriage number three - kaput. But could there be love on the horizon? Should Billy possibly reunite with his Uptown Girl, wife number two, Christie Brinkley?

Also new tonight, a first look at Jennifer Aniston`s brand-new movie. It`s another love story, this right after Aniston`s very public joke about her real and rocky love life. Is this life imitating art or is it the other way around?

Joining me tonight in New York is Steven Smith, who is a music and pop culture expert. Also in New York, Lisa Bernhard. She`s a special correspondent for "TV Guide" magazine.

Let us begin with the big news that 60-year-old Billy Joel and his third wife, 27-year-old Katie Lee Joel, have announced they are, in fact, separating.

Now, Katie Lee and Billy tied the knot back in 2004. A lot of people, when they first got together, said this thing just doomed from the start because of their 30-plus year age difference.

Steven, let me start with you. Were you at all surprised to hear they called it quits?

STEVEN SMITH, MUSIC AND POP CULTURE EXPERT: Sadly, no. I wasn`t surprised. I mean, how often can you say, "No, I`m not Alexa Ray, I`m Katie Lee." Seriously.

It`s just that. They always thought she was his daughter. And that`s got to grate on you after a while.

HAMMER: I would imagine it would. Billy Joel`s daughter with ex-wife Christie Brinkley, Alexa, that you referred to there, Steven, is talking about this. She`s telling "People.com" she actually had a feeling about her dad and wife number three calling it quits.

Here`s what she says, "I have a pretty good woman`s intuition, so I could tell. I know my dad very well. He was the first person to talk to me. Of course, being who he is, you can`t trust everybody. I like knowing that my father can come to me. He`s a strong man. He`ll get through this, and I`m going to help him."

Now, let us remember, Alexa is only four years younger than her soon- to-be ex-step mom. Lisa, is it fair to say that the age difference had everything to do with this split?

LISA BERNHARD, SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT, "TV GUIDE": Well, you know, it`s funny. Everybody talks about how old Billy Joel is at 60. But this is a rock star marriage. Maybe she`s the one who had the expiration date at 27. How many rock star wives make it to age 30?

But seriously, look. They both got what they wanted out of it. She`s on the map in terms of a personality with this cooking and the chef things that she does as well, but really as being Mrs. Billy Joel.

And he, at 60 years old or a few years younger, knew he could score a young hot babe for whatever mid-life crisis stuff that he was going through. So I think that the countdown clock did start on this one the day of that marriage.

HAMMER: Yes. And I think he won`t have any trouble finding another woman. And I think, for her part, she`s just lovely. I`ve always liked her a great deal.

The SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page, by the way, on fire with the news of Billy Joel`s sudden single status. We got an interesting suggestion from Nichelle H. who`s writing in, "At this rate, he and Christie should get back together."

Steven, what do you think about that? Christie Brinkley was Billy Joel`s one and only Uptown Girl. They have their daughter, Alexa, together. Christie has also been unlucky in love. It has been well documented. What do you think? Should they get back together?

SMITH: On behalf of everyone who grew up in the `80s and knew what`s going on, she`s too tall for him. Done.

HAMMER: All right. We`re going to (UNINTELLIGIBLE) it there. And no, you don`t agree, Lisa?

BERNHARD: Well, no. I do agree. I just think that if she inspires him to write more songs like Uptown Girl, forget about it. We don`t want that. "Just The Way You Are," "Piano Man" - sure. That we`ll take.

HAMMER: Huge Billy Joel fan - "Uptown Girl," one of my least favorite songs. Let`s move on to Jennifer Aniston`s brand-new movie called "Love Happens."

Now, this movie is about a widower, played by Aaron Eckhart. That character falls in love with Jen Aniston`s character. But of course, it`s not such a simple love. Now, before we first show you a first look at Aniston`s new movie, I`ve got to show you what Aniston said about how her movies imitate her life. Take a look at this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JENNIFER ANISTON, ACTRESS: There seems to be this strange parallel between movies I was doing and my life off screen. It started with - well, I mean, you know, "The Good Girl." And then that evolved into "Rumor Has It." Then that was followed by "Derailed," you know. Then there was "The Breakup." If any of you have a project titled "Everlasting Love with an Adult Stable Male," just go to my table.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Big blast from the audience. Lisa, she`s not really joking here, though, is she?

BERNHARD: Not so much. You know, I`m actually always amazed. People come up to me covering entertainment after she broke up with Brad Pitt, "Is she going to be OK?" I think, like, you know, she`s rich. She`s talented. She`s beautiful. She`ll be just fine.

But what`s amazing is that she does have us in her back pocket, because women project themselves on to her. Everybody knows love and pain and heartache. And, yes, this goes hand in hand with the movies that she`s done.

But don`t forget, it`s not like she played serial killers before she did these films. She was on "Friends," a light romantic comedy.

HAMMER: Yes.

BERNHARD: And she was very successful in it. And it`s, you know, still one of "TV Guide" magazine`s top 100 episodes. Even this week, people still talk about "Friends." And that`s very much who she is and very much why she`s also gone on to play these types of roles, because she is that type.

HAMMER: Well, speaking of which, her new movie called "Love Happens," could actually be the sequel to that acceptance speech we just showed you. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with your first look at "Love Happens." Roll it, Charles.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

AARON ECKHART, ACTOR: I`m feeling OK, how are you?

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: This is your moment - TV, radio, publishing - and Lear Jets?

ECKHART: No, that`s not why I wrote it.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: You do know that you`re helping people?

JENNIFER ANISTON, ACTRESS: So tell me, what motivated the book?

ECKHART: My wife died three years ago. Never intended for anyone to actually read it. The only thing separating you and me is in your head.

Would you like to have a cup of coffee?

ANISTON: I have never been on a date with someone who has a cardboard cutout of themselves.

ECKHART: It`s a really different carpool, eh? How long you been at this?

ANISTON: Oh, I finally got up the guts a couple years ago to open my own shop.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTRESS: May I just point out now you`re dating some guy who`s not going to be in town for 72 hours?

ANISTON: I like him. I`m still trying to wrap my head around what your thing is.

ECKHART: It`s a long story.

ANISTON: Yes, but isn`t that your whole thing? Talking about it?

ECKHART: Thank you for the drinks.

ANISTON: Yes, thanks.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: You tend to fall for these guys with expiration dates right on their foreheads. Am I being too harsh?

ANISTON: Yes.

MARTIN SHEEN, ACTOR: When are you going to stop lying, son?

ECKHART: You have to give yourself permission to start living your life again. You`re right. I didn`t go to her funeral.

ANISTON: I saw everything in your book.

ECKHART: I couldn`t do any of it at all.

ANISTON: Can I say something with the acknowledgment that my life is an experiment in really bad decisions? You`re really messed up.

ECKHART: Give me a chance. Will you do that for me?

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Yes, she would. Sorry. Sorry.

ECKHART: Where are we going?

ANISTON: (UNINTELLIGIBLE), isn`t it?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, love happens, all right, to Jen Aniston. People love to dissect her love life for better or worse. Steven, do you agree she`s just given people what they want on and off screen?

SMITH: I think so. And to go back to her talking about her movie, she could have, you know, chosen "He`s Just Not that Into Marley and Me." And along came Polly with the picture-perfect office space rock star ...

HAMMER: Yes.

SMITH: ... which generally follow the whole metaphor.

HAMMER: Yes.

SMITH: So follow her, love her. She is what she is.

HAMMER: Steven Smith, Lisa Bernhard, I thank you both. I appreciate it.

A brand-new announcement late today raises big questions about the fate of Jon and Kate`s marriage. Will they separate? And if so, how would this affect the show?

Plus, Kate is caught spanking one of her children. And this is caught by paparazzi. It has sparked an explosive debate. Is it OK for a reality show mom to spank her children? Our Facebook page is all blowing up over this.

Also, Levi Johnston, the superstar? The father of Sarah Palin`s grandson announces he is trying to make it big in Hollywood. Is this kid`s 15 minutes of fame over or does he actually have a shot in Hollywood?

Joining me tonight in New York, Vinnie Politan who`s a radio host on Sirius XM Satellite Radio. And tonight, in Hollywood, Arthel Neville who is a TV journalist.

Let us start with this dramatic announcement late today about the fate of Jon and Kate Gosselin - TLC telling SHOWBIZ TONIGHT there`s going to be an unexpected hour-long special next week and it will apparently tell us whether or not Jon and Kate will stay together. Let`s take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

K. GOSSELIN: Recently, we`ve made some life-changing decisions - decisions that will affect every member of our family, ones that we hope will bring each of us some peace.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, I don`t think they`re talking about getting a new car here. Arthel, let me start with you. The burning question that`s obviously on everybody`s mind - do you think Jon and Kate are going to separate?

NEVILLE: I think it`s over for them. Hopefully, they can maintain some sort of amicable relationship for the sake of the children. But also for the sake of the children - if there`s no real love in the household, then that`s not good for the children either.

HAMMER: Yes, absolutely right. Vinnie Politan, what do you think? Is that the announcement we`re going to see here? Is it a foregone conclusion?

POLITAN: I think it is. I think it`s actually good for the show to demonstrate this. I mean, we want some reality in our reality television. And you know what? Maybe it shows there`s not always a positive side to having so many kids. It puts a stress on a family, stress on a relationship.

Half the marriages in this country end up in divorce anyway. So let`s see some reality and let`s see it on the show, because without that reality it`s really a snooze fest. I`m not saying this just to make it better entertainment for us. But maybe people will learn a little bit and we`ll take something from this that, you know what, the problems they`re having, we have at home also.

HAMMER: And I agree with you on that point, Vinnie. And the fact, as Kate even pointed out in the show, so many marriages that involve lots and lots of kids end up in divorce. They were hoping they weren`t going down that same path.

But let`s remember, this is not what the show was always about. When they first burst into the season premiere, they were talking about their marriage woes. That was a departure from what this show used to be about. And that brought these record-breaking unprecedented ratings - 10 million viewers tuned in.

Well, you know, they got back to business as usual and the ratings have dropped considerably since then. And now, it looks like they`re ready to put the marriage woes front and center once again. Maybe not necessarily with such, you know, wonderful reasoning.

Arthel, are you with me that it`s kind of hard to not see this as a grab for big ratings again?

NEVILLE: Yes. But you know what? I think that if, in fact, these guys never had shown up on television - had they not shown up in television, they may have stayed together as a family.

You know, A.J., there`s a lot of scrutiny that`s involved with being in front of the camera, and especially if you`re just your average American family. There`s pressure involved, and most people cannot handle it. So maybe they would have been together had there not been a television snow.

HAMMER: Yes. Nobody else not on TV would have been dealing with this. Kate caught up in a firestorm of controversy now after "In Touch Weekly" magazine plastered these photos on their cover, Kate spanking her daughter, Leah. Now, this was just a pat on the behind.

But Vinnie, this raises the question, if Kate is in the spotlight, does she need to be more careful about this kind of stuff?

POLITAN: No. She needs to be real. And people have to understand - there are parents all over this country that know what it`s like dealing one or two children. She`s dealing with eight. It`s a stressful situation. It shows us what really happens.

This happens in household across the country every night. It`s not child abuse. It`s how you raise children. And some people choose that way. Some people do timeouts. There`s all different methods. Some work, some don`t work. That`s the method that she chose. Let`s see how it`s really done.

HAMMER: Well, the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page blowing up over this. So many comments are coming in from fans who are defending Kate Gosselin`s right to spank her children.

POLITAN: There you go.

HAMMER: Let me read what we`re hearing here. Now, Faith G. writing, "Leave them alone already. Sometimes, kids have to be spanked. It`s part of educating them and raising them right. A little spanking has never hurt anyone."

We got the other side, too. Wendy C. writing in that Kate needs to watch it saying, "I think that taking the time to talk to kids rather than hit them makes more of a long-term impact. It`s not always convenient, but having well-behaved kids is worth the price. With eight kids, Kate should know this by now."

All right. Let`s move on to another big story making news right now. Levi Johnston wants to be a superstar. He and his agents are in Hollywood. They`re looking for gigs - you know, modeling, a reality show, sitcom appearances.

Arthel, are you with me? This guy`s 15 minutes are up, right? Or do you think he has a shot at making it?

NEVILLE: A.J., I am so you. And I don`t know the young man, but I`m going to say that in this case, the "L" is for "loser," not Levi. This guy has been an opportunist from day one. I even wonder why he dated the governor`s daughter in the first place.

HAMMER: Yes, let me say this in closing, I hope he`s not going to try to host a television show. Because you see him on TV, he can`t put two words together.

POLITAN: There`s another side, A.J. He`s trying to make money so he can support his family.

(CROSSTALK)

HAMMER: Vinnie Politan, Arthel Neville, thank you both.

NEVILLE: A.J., I need a favor, please, please, before you go, make sure this guy, Levi, does not fill in for Larry King, please.

HAMMER: Deal. Done. All right. Now, over to you. Here`s our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s question on the day on the Kate Gosselin spanking controversy - "Is she being criticized unfairly?" You can go to CNN.com/ShowbizTonight or E-mail showbiztonight@cnn.com.

New right now, take a look at this. Will this be Michael Jackson?

(VIDEO CLIP FROM "THE INCREDIBLE HULK")

That`s "The Incredible Hulk," of course. You see, "People" magazine is reporting that Lou Ferrigno, the guy who played The Hulk in the 70s show is training Michael Jackson. Lou`s getting Michael ready for his upcoming London shows. No word on what Lou`s making Michael do. But I bet it`s much more than a moon walk.

Well, tonight, an Angelina Jolie exclusive. What made her cry on camera today?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JOLIE: I hate crying in this program. I think of him and I can`t complain about anything. I can`t do anything but be grateful for what I have.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: You have to hear what made Angelina so emotional. Plus, she dropped a big-time bombshell. Will she and Brad Pitt have more kids? This SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news right now.

TEXT: Co-creator of "The Office," Ricky Gervais, to headline N.Y. Comedy Festival. Former Wendy`s employee Eva Longoria serves Frosty`s for Dave Thomas Foundation.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer. Tonight, Angelina Jolie reveals if she and Brad Pitt want more kids.

Angelina was in Washington, D.C. today just ahead of World Refugee Day this Saturday. CNN`s Anderson Cooper got exclusive access to Angie there. And she got very emotional when Anderson asked her if there are any specific refugees that have really impacted her. Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JOLIE: I spoke of some of them today. There was maybe - I hate crying in this program. There was a young boy I met who was about 15 who had been shot in the back and paralyzed and his whole family was killed. And he was completely on his own.

And he just had the sweetest face and the most beautiful - he was so kind and so - but he was by himself. They were unable to give him any assistance and yet he had this remarkable unbreakable spirit beyond anything I could imagine having the things we complain about on a daily basis.

He had lost everything and was just so full of laughter and kindness, and he passed away a few months after I was there. And so I`ve always wondered, these young people you meet, and you just think, God, in any other situation, if this person had been given a chance, what an extraordinary adult he would have been.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: The refugee cause is very near and dear to Angelina. She does terrific as a United Nations goodwill ambassador.

Now, on a lighter note, Anderson did get Angie to reveal if she and Brad Pitt want to add to their six kids.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON COOPER, HOST, "AC 360": Just one final question which I`ve got to ask. I know you have a bunch of birthdays coming up for your kids. I think you have like - I think Zahara has a birthday on July 6, and then the twins the following week. How do you deal with multiple birthdays?

JOLIE: Actually, Zahara`s not July 6. But I do have the twins and had Shie(ph) in May. And we have so many kids that we have year-round birthdays. We just have a rotating - it`s just fun. You know, it`s a lot of fun now because the older kids are old enough to help plan the birthdays for the younger kids. It`s one of the great pleasures of life - the birthdays.

COOPER: Everyone asked me to ask, any more plans for more kids?

JOLIE: Always.

COOPER: Always? Always plan?

JOLIE: We love children. There`s nothing happening at this moment. But we do love children. We want a big family, we never, you know - never say no.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Watch out, Octomom. That`s it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.
