A.J. HAMMER, CO-HOST: Big news breaking right now on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - brand-new Mel Gibson outrage. Mel Gibson`s unbelievable new outburst caught on tape.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DEAN RICHARDS, WGN REPORTER: Thanks a lot for joining us, Mel. Take care.

MEL GIBSON, ACTOR: Bye-bye, (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: This just days after Mel`s other disgusting attack, also caught on tape.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GIBSON: I gather you have a dog in this fight?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Pardon me?

GIBSON: You have a dog in this fight or you`re being impartial?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has got to ask, is Mel totally blowing his comeback from his drunk-driving arrest and anti-Semitic rant?

Heidi`s emotional face-off with her mom. For first time since 10 plastic surgeries, Heidi Montag sees her mother. The disturbing details today of their meeting. Why Heidi says she felt like a freak.

And Jennifer Aniston`s brand-new bachelorette pad. Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT takes you inside Aniston`s just renovated home. Why her dramatic new digs may actually reveal Jen is totally OK with being single.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show starts right now.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer, broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

BROOKE ANDERSON, CO-HOST: Hi there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson, coming to you tonight from Hollywood. Tonight, Mel Gibson`s brand-new outburst.

HAMMER: Brooke, this is unbelievable. Gibson gave TV viewers an earful after an interview promoting his new movie. Gibson appeared to lash out and swear at a reporter for asking a question related to his 2006 drunk- driving arrest and anti-Semitic rant that sent shockwaves through Hollywood.

Well, today, Mel`s rep told us that this latest outburst was just a big misunderstanding. The question is, do we buy it? Either way, I can tell you this explosive new Mel Gibson drama made for big news breaking today.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice over): Mad Mel is back. And we`re not talking about his new revenge action flick.

RICHARDS: Do you think the public will perceive you differently after all that`s been in the news about you?

GIBSON: What are you referring to, specifically?

HAMMER: Everyone is talking about Mel Gibson`s tense TV interview with WGN reporter Dean Richards who dared bring up Mel`s 2006 DUI arrest and ugly anti-Semitic rant.

GIBSON: That`s almost four years ago, dude. I mean, I`ve moved on. I guess you haven`t. I`ve done all the necessary mea culpa, so let`s move on, dude.

HAMMER: And when they wrapped up the interview, Mel, apparently thinking he was off camera, got in an explosive last word.

RICHARDS: Thanks a lot for joining us, Mel. Take care.

GIBSON: Bye-bye, (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

HAMMER: This Mel versus reporter smackdown comes after Mel mixed it up last week with KTLA`s Sam Rubin. Rubin, who is Jewish, also asked Mel about his past troubles.

SAM RUBIN, KTLA REPORTER: Some people like - are people going to welcome you back. And other people are going to be like he should never come back.

GIBSON: Why?

RUBIN: Because of what happened before.

GIBSON: What happened before?

RUBIN: The remarks that were attributed to you.

GIBSON: I gather you have a dog in this fight.

RUBIN: Pardon me.

GIBSON: Do you have a dog in this fight or are you being impartial?

KIM SERAFIN, SENIOR EDITOR, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": It`s bizarre someone like Mel who really understands this business would have this very defensive answer, knowing that that would be the part of the interview that would get played.

Now, maybe he`s of the camp that any publicity is good publicity, but he certainly can`t think that after what happened to him in the summer of 2006.

HAMMER: That would be his 2006 drunk-driving arrest and the anti-Semitic remarks he made to the arresting officer.

DIANE SAWYER, ABC ANCHOR: The Jews are responsible for all of the wars in the world. Are those anti-Semitic words?

HAMMER: Months later, an apologetic Mel Gibson talked to ABC`s Diane Sawyer about the controversy and called his offensive words the ramblings of a drunk.

GIBSON: Absolutely. It sounds horrible, and I`m ashamed that came out of my mouth. I`m not that - that`s not who I am, you know.

HAMMER: But with his two combative recent interviews, Mel might be sending out a different message.

SERAFIN: People obviously might perceive these reactions he`s having as that he`s not as sorry as he said he was.

HAMMER: Now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you, Gibson is once again doing damage control. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT learned Gibson has reached out to Rubin to apologize for his behavior during that interview.

GIBSON: (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

HAMMER: As for yesterday`s Chicago interview with Dean Richards - well, that`s where things get odd. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT learned today that immediately after his on-air A-bomb, Gibson tried to explain himself by firing off a text message to the last reporter he insulted, Sam Rubin.

SERAFIN: He says to Sam in a text message that he wasn`t saying that comment about the reporter. He was saying it to his publicist who was making faces off camera and he didn`t realize he was still being filmed at that time.

HAMMER: But Mel`s explanation isn`t holding water. Rubin tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, quote, "In my own personal opinion, I am not sure I believe that story.

"In Touch Weekly`s" Kim Serafin says if Mel is going to get out of this mess, he should take a cue from President Obama.

SERAFIN: Maybe they just all need to have a big beer summit together with nonalcoholic beer, please.

HAMMER: Ironically, in his Rubin interview, Gibson did say how he hopes to be received now that he`s back in movies.

GIBSON: I`m back. And I hope it works out and I hope people will graciously accept me back.

HAMMER: But with controversies like this, Mel is making it awfully hard for moviegoers to welcome him back.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: I mean, look at this - Mel really seems to be his own worst enemy. But maybe his bratty behavior just shows that Mel doesn`t even care what anybody thinks about him anymore.

Joining me tonight from Atlanta is Vinnie Politan who is an "In Session" host. Also in New York with me is Megan Alexander who is a correspondent for "Inside Edition."

OK. So here obviously is the guy who went on this anti-Semitic tirade four years ago and really turned people against him. And now, in a brand- new interview, this is what he says on WGN TV in Chicago when he was asked a perfectly legitimate question if he thinks the public has moved on from his controversy.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GIBSON: It is a while back. And you know, I`ve done all of the necessary mea culpa, so let`s move on, dude.

RICHARDS: "Edge of Darkness" opens today. It`s good to see you back in the saddle doing what you do best. Thanks a lot for joining us, Mel. Take care.

GIBSON: Bye-bye, (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: All right. Great, Mel, top off a bad answer by swearing at the guy. Well, today, Mel says he didn`t mean to swear at the reporter. It was actually directed at his publicist who, Mel claims, was making faces at him off camera.

Yes, right. Now, even if we were to buy that, Megan, I am so surprised at how Mel is handling of this. This was just a dumb, dumb move, wasn`t it?

MEGAN ALEXANDER, CORRESPONDENT, "INSIDE EDITION": There`s a couple of different ways to look at this. The first lesson, A.J., any time you`re anywhere remotely near a microphone, assume it is always on.

HAMMER: Exactly right.

ALEXANDER: Secondly - you know, my dad has the expression that finals in life are never over. And he told me that when I graduated college.

HAMMER: Yes.

ALEXANDER: You know, yes, it was several years ago, but you may continue to always be asked that question. Look at it as an opportunity to continue to give a good answer and explain yourself. So you know, this may continue for 10 more years. He should be prepared.

HAMMER: Exactly. Well, no, he`s just perpetuating it and that`s the nature of the beast here, doing press. It`s the first major starring role in longer than since this incident took place.

You know, I think he should have just answered the question by saying, "You know, look. I`ve apologized several times. I`m still sorry. Now, I want to focus on my movie and I hope everybody enjoys it." I mean, that`s PR 101. You do something controversial. You know people are going to ask you about it.

Vinnie, are you with me that Mel really just showed his true colors and he`s not doing himself any favors here?

VINNIE POLITAN, HOST, "IN SESSION": There`s a big unanswered question that you`re missing here, A.J. What was in that cup that he was holding?

HAMMER: OK.

POLITAN: You answer that question, we might be able to answer all of these questions as to what`s going on. It`s absurd. No one`s going to believe that excuse.

HAMMER: Well, let`s move on now to Mackenzie Phillips new incest shocker. This is amazing. In a brand-new interview on HLN`s "JOY BEHAR SHOW," the "One Day at a Time" star is now retracting the world "consensual" after making claims in her own tell-all book that she had a consensual incestuous relationship with her father who, of course, was John Phillips of the Mamas and Papas.

I want you take a look at what Mackenzie told Oprah back in September and then watch what she just told Joy.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MACKENZIE PHILLIPS, ACTRESS: It became a consensual relationship over time. Someone needs to put a face on not only nonconsensual incest, but consensual, because I know it exists.

I would like to reframe my word "consensual." As I was writing the book, I thought this word - it kept sitting wrong with me, but I used it for lack of a better word. And since then, I`ve been schooled by thousands of incest survivors all across the world that there really is no such thing as consensual incest due to the inherent power a parent has over a child.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: That makes perfect sense to me. Megan, a lot of people have been very tough on her since her tell-all. Do you think that people will understand, "Hey, she`s just still working through all this stuff?"

ALEXANDER: It was such an incredible and horrific situation that she had to go through, a couple of different things involved - drugs, it was her father, she was young. I have no problem with her continuing to process this, because I think that`s exactly what she`s doing.

HAMMER: Yes.

ALEXANDER: And she said in talking to people, "You`ve got to work through those issues of what was my role in this. Was I a part of it? Was I not?" I think she`ll be continuing to work through that for many years to come. So I see no problem with her maybe changing her story a little bit.

HAMMER: Yes. She opened herself up to a whole education that I believe that she`s gotten as she claims. There are some people, however, who are suggesting that, you know, maybe she`s come forward to, as she put it, reframe her words just to get some new attention for her book.

Vinnie, I, for one, think that`s a bit harsh. But is there something there?

POLITAN: No, I don`t think so. And I think it is a little bit harsh. I mean, if, in fact, what she is saying is true, she is the victim of the sexual assault here. Of course, it`s not consensual. It`s a difficult thing to deal with and she`s been through a lot.

I`m going to cut her a break on this one. You know, I`m usually pretty tough on celebrities, but not in this case. Not at all.

HAMMER: Yes. I`m right there with you. All right. I have to move on to another big breaking story today. Remember cheating South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford? Oh, of course, you do.

And I - his estranged wife, Jenny, is making shocking new revelations that the so-called love gov wanted to take all that stuff about being faithful from their wedding vows. So, should Jenny have seen the cheating coming? Vinnie Politan, Megan Alexander, stay right where you are. We`re getting into it, coming up.

ANDERSON: Hey, so you know how a lot of people have been like "Poor Jennifer Aniston. She can never keep a man"? You know how people say that.

Well, I`m going to share with you the brand-new evidence today that Jen may not want a guy any more. I`m taking you inside Aniston`s home. You`ve got to see what she`s done with the place. And how it may reveal why Aniston may be totally OK with being single.

Also, tonight, Heidi`s emotional face-off with her mom. For the first time since her 10 plastic surgeries in one day, Heidi Montag sees her mother. Why Heidi says she felt like a freak. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

HAMMER: Here comes the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker." These are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news right now.

TEXT: "Avatar" tops "Titanic`s" all-time domestic tix sales record: $601.1 million versus $600.8 million. News Corp.`s Rupert Murdoch says there have been "talks" about an "Avatar" sequel.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: It was a story that rocked Hollywood, the unbelievable so-called bling ring. The group of teens accused of breaking into the homes of Audrina Patridge Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Orlando Bloom and stealing millions of dollars worth of stuff.

And tonight, one of the guys who admitted to being part of the ring says he did it for the thrill.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer. Now, the bling ring shocker. Nick Prugo was one of the teens in this alleged Hollywood Hills burglar bunch. And on "Good Morning America" this morning, Nick, who has confessed to what he did but has pleaded not guilty, dropped this bombshell. He got involved because he didn`t want to disappoint his friends.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

NICK PRUGO, MEMBER, HOLLYWOOD BLING RING: I mean, it was - definitely, there was a thrill to it. But also these people, you know, I trusted - they were my best friends. And I was - you know, the peer pressure and just trying to like, please them and you know, just trying to keep my friends.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: All right. Well, Prugo says that unlike some of the other accused bling ring members, he`s not planning to cash in on his crime.

ANDERSON: Now, "SHOWBIZ Caught on Tape," overexposed on TV. All right. There`s goofing off at work and then there`s this. One guy got caught looking at pretty steamy photos, and unfortunately for him, the cameras were rolling right behind him. Someone call human resources, will you?

Here`s CNN`s Jeanne Moos for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

JEANNE MOOS, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice over): If you`re going to look at half-naked pictures, better make sure you`re not exposed.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE ANCHOR: They`re expecting -

MOOS: Channel 7 News in Australia got more of a rise than they bargained for. Note the guy in the background bringing up racy photos on his computer.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE MCCRORY FINANCIAL EXPERT: It was very common and -

MOOS: The McCrory financial expert was talking about interest rates. That`s not what interested the guy in the background. Even when a colleague walked over, he kept right on looking.

Folks quickly recognized Miranda Kerr, a famous Victoria`s Secret model.

MIRANDA KERR, VICTORIA`S SECRET MODEL: Which is what I have one now.

MOOS: Yes. Well, actually, she had on less than she usually does when cavorting on a beach or on a bed. In the words of one admirer, "I would totally drink her bath water." Fans put her image to songs like supermodel. That`s what he was supposed to be doing.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Which is where they were at the (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

MOOS (on camera): In the guy`s defense, it wasn`t really porn he was looking at. It`s more as if he was opening photos that someone had E- mailed him, photos from "GQ."

(voice over): The current issue featured a three-photo spread. As he looked at the final photo -

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Six to nine months before you actually see that effect.

MOOS: He knew he was nabbed or so and so - someone commiserated, "busted doing something most people do at every day." As in this French commercial, a guy watching porn accidentally unplugs his headset. Or the wife surprises hubby at home.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Hi.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And his computer freezes before he can hide the evidence.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: What are you doing?

MOOS: Get a laptop or maybe a lap dance. Online speculation about this guy`s fate was rampant. In the words of Donald Trump.

DONALD TRUMP, BILLIONAIRE BUSINESSMAN: You`re fired.

MOOS: But the McCrory Group would say only that it takes matters such as the unacceptable use of technology extremely seriously and that the situation is being dealt with internally.

If this is what banker types are looking at, then we wonder why they didn`t see the crash coming.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Six to nine months before you actually that effect.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: That was CNN`s Jeanne Moos for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. The banker who was nabbed looking at those racy photos is reportedly meeting with his bosses this week to find out if he`ll be fired.

HAMMER: Well, Brooke, speaking of all things topless, how about that "Jersey Shore?"

ANDERSON: How about it? I know you`re a big fan, A.J., and our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT viewers really split on whether the cast deserved a reported $10,000 per episode each for the new season.

In fact, we`re getting our "Showbiz on Call" operators spray tans as a thank you for taking all these calls. Paige from West Virginia hates the show.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

CALLER: I personally think it`s disgusting that they`re wanting to pay these people for partying and doing all of these kinds of things. If that`s the case, everybody needs to go to every college town and pay every student tens of thousands of dollars.

And I also think it`s really embarrassing that future generations, my children and such, are going to see that this is the kind of thing we enjoyed watching on television. It`s really embarrassing.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Thank you, Paige.

HAMMER: We also heard from Crystal calling into "Showbiz on Call" from Virginia who says, come on, lighten up.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

CALLER: I think this show is awesome. I think it`s just kids having fun, and it`s nothing more. It shouldn`t be any different than the real world with MTV. It`s the same (INAUDIBLE). But I love Snooki. I love The Situation and I just hope that they are having another season come around. So I hope it lasts for a while.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

HAMMER: Thank you very much, Crystal.

ANDERSON: We keep the "Showbiz on Call" phone lines open for you 24/7. The number is 1-888-SBT-BUZZ; that`s 1-888-728-2899.

HAMMER: And that`s the situation. All right, those "Jersey Shore" may get those spray tans. They may use too much hair gel. But let me tell you they are a zillions times more natural than Heidi Montag.

Heidi sees her mom for the very first time since getting those 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day. Why Heidi says she felt like a freak.

The brand-new pictures of Tiger Woods wife without sunglasses. This is huge now because she`s been hiding her eyes, hiding her emotions. So now that she`s gone public this way, is it also time for her to tell her side of the cheating scandal?

And supermodel Gisele Bundchen says giving birth - it was completely painless. All right. Is she some kind of superwoman? I mean, what`s going on there. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

Now, it`s time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker." It`s more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news right now.

TEXT: John Mayer gives free concert for fans in South Carolina. "Twilight`s" Kellan Lutz strips down to his "Calvins" for underwear ad.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Tonight, Gisele Bundchen says giving birth, no biggie. Piece of cake. In a brand-new interview on a Brazilian TV show called "Fantastico," Gisele says giving birth to her son Benjamin wasn`t painful at all.

Bundchen, who gave birth in a bathtub in December at the Boston apartment she shares with hubby, New England Patriot`s quarterback, Tom Brady, also says she didn`t use any pain medication.

Hey, listen Gisele, as someone who just gave birth naturally myself, no pain medication? No epidural? Come on, really? No pain?

HAMMER: It`s not what you told me, Brooke. You said it was fine. I can tell you a lot of people were in pain when there were reports that MTV may pick a new cast for "Jersey Shore." But it`s all good now. They all got a big raise.

Tonight, the new controversy is about where the show is going to be set next season. Yes, "Jersey Shore" may not actually be on the Jersey Shore. What is that music?

Check out he new interview today with cast member, Pauly D. on "Radar Online."

PAULY D., CAST MEMBER, "JERSEY SHORE": The show is definitely not going to be on the Jersey Shore. We`re going to film it someplace warm. It`s going to be "Jersey Shore Meets Somewhere Else." We just don`t know where yet.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE REPORTER: There`s whispers you might have been told to get your passport ready.

PAULY D.: I always have my passport. I`m ready for every situation. But I don`t know where it`s going to be filmed. I know it`s going to be someplace warm.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE REPORTER: Where would you like it to be?

PAULY D.: I would like it to be in Acapulco or something, you know what I mean?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE REPORTER: Why?

PAULY D.: I don`t know. It`s warm. And it`s just not here - out of the country, even Mexico, somewhere where it`s spring break or something.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: OK. Well, you know what they say. I believe they say this, you can take the kids out of the Jersey Shore, but you definitely can`t take the Jersey Shore out of the kids. But you can fist pump anywhere, right, Brooke?

ANDERSON: Yes, you can, A.J. All right. As soon as we asked you on Facebook, "Have Beyonce and Jay-Z replaced Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as the biggest couple in Hollywood," all heck broke loose. I just checked our wall and the posts are still coming fast and furious.

Kathleen C. is on team Brangelina, "Oh, please, no comparison. Brad Pitt and Angelina are far bigger stars without question and will still be maintaining this position 20 years from now."

But Nicol P. says, "Move over Brad and Angie, Jay-Z and Beyonce are the most popular power couple. They both started at the bottom and rose to the top and are very good entrepreneurs."

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

Plus, more stories breaking from the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker."

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It`s 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer broadcasting tonight and every night from New York City.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson coming to you tonight from Hollywood. Tonight, scorned wives shockers. Brand-new revelations tonight about three women who have been in the spotlight as the direct result of their husband`s philandering ways.

Tonight, brand-new details about Elizabeth Edwards` marriage to her husband, John. Their former aide Andrew Young claimed today on "The View" that Elizabeth knew her husband was a two-timing cheat.

Also, breaking tonight, bombshell revelations from Gov. Mark Sanford`s wife. In a brand-new interview today, Jenny Sanford is revealing her husband, who famously went off the grid to be with his lover in Argentina, had a big problem with the idea of being faithful to her from the very beginning of their marriage.

And take a look at this brand-new picture of Tiger Woods` scorned wife, Elin, without her sunglasses on. Now, that she is revealing herself to the public, should she also reveal her side of the story?

Joining me tonight from Atlanta, Vinnie Politan who is a host with "In Session." And from New York, Dr. Judy Kuriansky, who is a clinical psychologist.

Vinnie, Dr. Judy, I`ve got to begin with the brand-new claims today about Elizabeth Edwards. Andrew Young, who was promoting his new book, "The Politician," about John Edwards, was on "The View" today and revealed a bombshell about Elizabeth. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ANDREW YOUNG, FORMER AIDE OF JOHN EDWARDS: She knew about this relationship, about October before he announced he was running for president. But she also knew about previous relationships.

BARBARA WALTERS, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER AND CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": She knew he had the relationship with Rielle. Did she know about the baby?

YOUNG: No.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Vinnie, Andrew Young there claiming Elizabeth new about other women, not just Rielle. Are you buying this?

POLITAN: Yes, I am. Come on. From what we`ve seen from John Edwards, this guy could lie to our face. Why would he not be a liar and a cheater? And on believing everything this guy is saying, why should we question? Well, maybe he wants to make a few bucks, but my goodness, Edwards is a politician. We`re not going to believe anything he says.

ANDERSON: I don`t question whether Edwards did it, but I question his claims about Elizabeth because she seemed like such a strong woman who wouldn`t put up with such nonsense for so long.

(CROSS TALK)

DR. JUDY KURIANSKY, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST: Actually, you know what, Brooke? There are strong women that do put up with it. In fact, sometimes, it takes the strength to put up with it. She wrote by resilience and that takes a lot of that inner strength to know it and do it for her own reasons, for (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

ANDERSON: Yes, that`s a good point, Dr. Judy. Do you think it will change people`s perceptions of Elizabeth, though, if she indeed did put up with the cheating before?

KURIANSKY: Well, there are a lot of women who do it and so there are people out there that say, "I may know I`m turning a different eye because I`ve got to stick with my man." But there`s a breaking point.

When you hear the kind of thing that his lover is talking about her vagina, for example, then you say, "OK. That`s it. I can`t talk about this any more. I can`t take this any more. It`s got to be over."

POLITAN: Brooke, you know what`s important here -

ANDERSON: Yes, she obviously had hit her breaking point. Go ahead, Vinnie.

POLITAN: It`s the motivation. Why is she staying with him? Is she staying with him for the family, to try to the save the family? If that`s the case, then I think she gets a break here.

ANDERSON: Yes.

POLITAN: But if she`s staying because they were eyeing the White House, that`s going to turn the public off big time.

ANDERSON: Well, listen to this, Andrew Young also claimed today that there is a dark side to Elizabeth that the world hasn`t seen. He described some threatening phone calls he claims she made to his wife, Cheri. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

A. YOUNG: Elizabeth, even after she knew the truth and when John had concocted this web of deceit, Elizabeth left threatening voicemails for Cheri. She said that she was going to spend every last living day making Cheri`s life hell.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: OK, Vinnie. I`m sorry, but it seems that the anger that the Youngs are expressing is a little bit misdirected here. Do you think the attacks on Elizabeth are unwarranted?

POLITAN: Well, are they warranted? I mean, you`ve got to look from their perspective. If what they are saying is true, they may perceive themselves to be somewhat victims of John Edwards and Elizabeth Edwards.

ANDERSON: Yes.

POLITAN: And this is their opportunity to tell their side of the story. Who`s telling the truth? You know, it`s going to for the public to decide. But you know, so much has been uncovered about the Edwards. We can believe anything about them.

ANDERSON: Yes. No doubt. I was still stunned to hear them taking shots at Elizabeth Edwards. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT did reach out to Elizabeth to get her response on Andrew Young`s claims today. But as of show time, we did not hear back.

I want to move now to the love gov`s wife, Jenny Sanford and her explosive claims today. In a brand-new interview with Barbara Walters to promote her new memoir, the soon-to-be ex-wife of South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford said that her husband wanted to strike the promise to be faithful part out of their wedding vows, completely omit that part.

And she`s now acknowledging she took a leap of faith by marrying him in the first place. Dr. Judy, my head is spinning here. He told her basically what she could expect from him and she agreed to marry him anyway. Did something get lost in translation?

KURIANSKY: Yes, I would think so. My God, if she was sitting in my office and said that, I would say, "Do you hear those words? This is what you`re in for," and she bought it. That`s why you can`t have that much sympathy for her.

You know it`s going to happen if that`s what he actually said. So this is an investment banker woman, supposedly. Well, if somebody said, "Buy this stock and it`s going to go down," would you do it? Of course not. So where was her judgment at that point?

ANDERSON: Yes, she`s a very successful, intelligent person in her own right ...

KURIANSKY: Exactly. She should have seen that.

ANDERSON: She fell for the wrong guy, obviously. And we posted the story on the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page. Bonnie G. wrote on our wall, "Hello. If he couldn`t even say it, what made her think he would actually do it?"

So suddenly, the sympathy factor, gone. Vinnie, can you understand why some people just aren`t feeling so sorry for her anymore?

POLITAN: I understand. And she was the one - she was the one that we`re looking to. This is the way, you know, the scorned wife, the wife who stands by her man, is not supposed to stand by him. She was strong. She left him.

But you know what? She had - love does funny things. Love does funny things to people. I think that`s the only explanation we could have. It was more than a leap of faith. It was like a jump off a bridge.

KURIANSKY: Love makes you blind.

(CROSSTALK)

ANDERSON: Yes, love is blind. And you guys do have to listen to this. Jenny Sanford also says in this brand-new interview that the love gov bought her cheap gifts. For example, for one birthday, she says he drew her a picture of half a bicycle. And for her next birthday, he drew her the other half and gave her a used bicycle that he bought for $25. How romantic.

POLITAN: It`s the thought that counts.

(CROSSTALK)

ANDERSON: Well, well, well. Very true, and maybe he was being financially responsible. But Dr. Judy, what does this say about their relationship? They were married for more than 20 years.

KURIANSKY: After a while, you turn a blind eye. I`ve seen it happen so many times. But the point is that there is that breaking point when a man says another woman is a soul mate. When he`s talking about another woman`s breasts and when the sex is over, then the relationship is over. And there`s no way but going out.

ANDERSON: Yes. And that`s what she did. I`ve got to move now to the brand-new picture of Tiger Woods` wife, Elin. It`s the first photograph of her without her sunglasses on. Today`s "New York Post" headline blaring, "Elin`s pain is etched all over her beautiful face."

All right. Personally, I think she looks great considering what she`s been through. People are just dying to find out what`s going through her mind. A picture is worth a thousand words. Vinnie, is this picture saying anything to you? She`s gorgeous.

POLITANO: Oh, it`s saying a lot to me. Just that look on her face. But I don`t think she`s going to speak publicly. She never did before. I don`t even know what her voice sounds like. I don`t think we ever will, Brooke.

KURIANSKY: And she would be wise if she did keep her mouth shut. Then you have Jenny Sanford who was concerned about the sons knowing about their father`s sexual behavior and having a lover in Argentina and then writing about it and having it all blown up in their face again.

If Elin keeps her mouth shut, she would be wise. But there is a difference here. When a man says like Gov. Sanford did that he has a soul mate that he was in love with, that`s a lot different than going out with bimbos and just having wild sex.

ANDERSON: There is a difference.

POLITAN: Bimbos?

ANDERSON: Both big trouble though. Vinnie, oh my goodness. But the picture of Elin to me says, "I`m fine. I`m surviving." And good for her. All right. Vinnie Politan, Dr. Judy Kuriansky, thank you both.

HAMMER: Jennifer Aniston - she could have any man she wants. She`s a gorgeous movie star. I mean, come on. So is Jen really now man-proofing her house? Astonishing new revelations tonight about what Jen did when she remodeled her house that may show how she`s settling into her single lady status.

Heidi Montag just did something, well, scarier than 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day. She faced her mom with her new face. So did Heidi`s mom really think the reality star looked like a circus freak?

We`ll also have this.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Have you thought about having a family?

DEGENERES: We have a family. She has a mom and I have a mother and brother.

HAMMER: Tonight, Ellen DeGeneres and her most intimate revelations yet about having kids. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news right now.

HEIDI MONTAG, REALITY TV STAR: My body - I need to feel comfortable as a woman, as a person. And you know, it`s interview - you`re always there.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: That was Heidi Montag right before she went under the knife and had 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day. Tonight, the reality show star speaks out about her emotional reunion with her mom after the extreme makeover.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with A.J. Hammer in New York. Tonight, Heidi Montag`s heartache.

HAMMER: Yes, Brooke, we are getting shocking new details today about Heidi`s first encounter with her mother nine weeks after Heidi`s controversial nips and tucks seen around the world.

Wait until you hear Momma Montag`s reaction to her daughter`s dramatic transformation. I can tell you this was no joyful mother-daughter moment.

With me tonight in New York is Megan Alexander who is a correspondent for "Inside Edition." Joining me tonight from Hollywood, Laura Saltman who is a correspondent for "AccessHollywood.com."

So we know ever since Heidi`s incredible 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, she has had to get used to people everywhere calling her out for sending such a bad message by having all that work done when, you know, she was beautiful to begin with.

But I don`t think anything could have prepared her for how her own mother reacted when Heidi went home to see her in Colorado. Heidi tells the brand-new "People" magazine, "She was looking at me almost like a zoo animal. It wasn`t like I was her daughter any more. She was looking at me like I was a circus freak. My heart has never been so broken before."

Circus freak. Zoo animal. Heartbroken. Really strong words, Megan. You know, I think maybe for just a moment, Heidi`s mom`s words snapped her back into reality.

ALEXANDER: Oh, it`s a mother and daughter classic situation. This is a real life moment. And you know, her parents, she reported, were not supportive of this surgery going into it, and she stayed away from them when she did it and she didn`t talk to them for so, so long.

So now to now come back and have your mom, who knows you - who`s known you since birth, who`s seen you grow up, who complimented you - I`m sure her mother did - on her unique characteristics, to then see her reaction, that must have been very painful.

HAMMER: Yes. I think it was only temporary, though. Despite mom`s reaction, Heidi also tells the brand-new "People" magazine she is still thrilled with her new look and has no regrets. So Laura, let me go to you on this. As heartbroken as Heidi may have been by her mom`s harsh reaction, clearly it wasn`t enough to keep her in realty.

LAURA SALTMAN, CORRESPONDENT, "ACCESSHOLLYWOOD.COM": I don`t think Heidi lives in reality at all, actually. But you know, her parents didn`t know she had this done. We had an interview with her she did with Billy Bush.

And she told Billy that she kept this from her parents while she went in, while she was thinking about it after the recovery. But he asked her what her mom thought about her getting plastic surgery. And she said that she obviously didn`t need it, but she would support whatever she did.

So I`m just wondering if maybe this is a little bit more of a publicity angle on Heidi`s part to get people to continue to talk about her, to say that her mom said all of these things. I really do not know what to believe.

(CROSSTALK)

HAMMER: Yes, when Heidi is concerned, publicity is very much a factor, it seems, of everything she does.

SALTMAN: Absolutely.

HAMMER: But back to Megan`s point, it is one thing when strangers and TV hosts are lashing out at Heidi for her plastic surgery decisions. But again, this is her mom. And we learned today that when Heidi`s visit was over, her relationship with her mom had apparently been shaken.

Brooke, I wanted to hear her say, "You know what? Mom is disappointed. Maybe I made a mistake." But it really sounds like her priorities remain out of whack here.

ANDERSON: Oh, totally. She`s not admitting to herself or anyone else for that matter that she took it too far. And A.J., she said she did this all to have a greater shot at becoming a pop star.

Well, what if that doesn`t pan out. How crushed will she be then? How devastated - how low will herself worth be if she doesn`t achieve what she set her sights on? And then, what`s next? More plastic surgery, something more extreme? When and where does it end? It`s very troubling.

HAMMER: Yes. I`ve said it before and I`ll say it again, it`s all so, so sad. All right. Also making big news tonight, the brand-new Angelina Jolie-Jennifer Aniston salary showdown. Yes, the numbers are out today.

And according to "Vanity Fair" magazine, Angelina made $1 million more than Jen back in 2009. Let`s take a quick look at how that all shakes out. Angelina made $20 million for the movie "Salt," $1 million in royalties for a total of $21 million.

Jen made $8 million each for her roles in "The Bounty Hunter" and "The Baster," $3 million for "Marley and Me," and $1 million for "He`s Just Not That Into You."

Now, people are already looking at that and saying, "Hey, Angelina won this battle. I mean, they`re pitting them against each other and I don`t use the word "pit" lightly.

Megan, are people always going to pit them against each other just the way it is?

ALEXANDER: It`s two beautiful women, one good looking man. The classic rivalry. I think we`ve said this before. It is one of highest grossing magazine covers that there ever will be to have Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston. You know, do people care? I don`t know. Do those two women care? I`m not so sure. But it will continue to sell magazines definitely.

HAMMER: Absolutely. Well, people do buzz about it. Well, one place Jen is spending her hard-earned millions is on her Hollywood Hills bachelorette pad. Aniston shows off her new and improved house in a brand-new March issue of "Architectural Digest."

And among the many changes she made, the magazine points out that the house originally had his area hers baths. But Aniston turned the his into a spa bath with a soaking tub. Laura, should we take this as a sign that Jen is fully immersed in her single life now?

SALTMAN: I think Jen is enjoying her single life. And what better than hopping in a bubble bath by yourself and having a glass of champagne. So yes, get rid of Brad and it put in your tub. I`m all for it.

HAMMER: All right. And she`s really proud of this new home and it sounds like she did a terrific job on it. Megan Alexander, Laura Saltman, thanks.

And to see more of Laura, make sure you tune into "Access Hollywood."

ANDERSON: Tonight, Ellen`s brand-new baby revelations. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi have been married just over a year. And what a remarkable year it has been for Ellen. She`s got her own talk show, of course.

She was named the new face of Cover Girl. And oh, yes, Ellen`s got a new gig on the highest-rated show in the land, "American Idol." So is Ellen ready to add a baby to the mix?

In an interview out just today, Ellen reveals to CBS` Katie Couric why baby won`t make three for Ellen and Portia.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DEGENERES: It seems like the natural progression when you`re in love, and you - then you go, "What next?" And that seems like a great thing and to learn to love something else.

I think we`re both really happy being fully in love with each other. And we really are lucky enough to be so in love with one another. I like having all of her, and she likes having all of me. And we have freedom, and we have time. And we have - we have a niece, and so that`s good because we play with her, and then she cries and we hand her back.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: All jokes aside, Ellen says although she`s not going to be a mom, she just loves being an aunt.

HAMMER: Well, tonight Michelle Obama fighting back, defending her husband on the "Today" show, not about health care or the economy. It`s a battle over his looks.

MICHELLE OBAMA, UNITED STATES FIRST LADY: He`s cute.

MATT LAUER, CO-HOST, THE "TODAY" SHOW: I`m not bad-mouthing your husband here.

M. OBAMA: Hey.

HAMMER: You have got to hear what Matt Lauer said that made the first lady more than a little uncomfortable. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news right now.

LAUER: You made it to "Forbes" magazine`s most powerful women`s list, "People" magazine`s most beautiful list, "Time" magazine`s most influential list. And you made "Maxim" magazine`s list of hottest women.

M. OBAMA: No, I didn`t hear that.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Hey, Michelle, if you had watched SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, you would have known. That was "Today" show`s Matt Lauer running down the first lady`s accolades in an exclusive new interview this morning.

But tonight, Michelle Obama is dishing about her husband`s new look. Tonight, Michelle Obama on her husband becoming a silver fox. It has been a remarkably tough first year in office for the president. And even though he`s known as no drama Obama, there may be one clue as to his stress level - his graying hair.

On the "Today" show this morning, Matt Lauer dared to ask the first lady about her husband`s snowy dome. Check out her reaction.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LAUER: If I were to hold a picture of your husband up from 16 months ago, say - and I were to hold a picture next it of today, the obvious truth is the job has aged him.

M. OBAMA: Yes.

LAUER: You look at his hair.

M. OBAMA: Yes.

LAUER: It`s grayer.

M. OBAMA: Yes.

LAUER: There`s a little more wear and tear on his face. He still looks cute, mind you.

M. OBAMA: He`s cute.

LAUER: No, I`m not bad-mouthing your husband here.

M. OBAMA: Hey.

LAUER: When you look, do you notice the toll it`s taken physically on him?

M. OBAMA: You know, no, because I see him every day. I tease Barack all the time because, you know, the gray issue is interesting because his mother, his grandfather - they were all completely gray. So he was going that direction anyway.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: It`s pretty sweet to hear the first lady call the president "cute."

HAMMER: Tonight, Sandra and Meryl`s Oscar war. Now, all this started at the Critics Choice Awards when Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep tied for best actress. They kind of hugged it out - actually, they kissed it out.

But now, they`re up against each other once again for the same category at the Oscars. But tonight, they`re not swapping spits, they`re swapping pranks.

Listen to this. Sandra started the fake smackdown by leaving Streep a voicemail that warned, "You`ve got to watch your back. I`m going to cut you. I`m going to take you down."

Then Meryl got back at Sandra by sending her dead orchids. Finally, Sandra sent Meryl a case of liquor and told her to "toast the white trash."

And I have to raise the glass to both of you, ladies, for making the awards season so much fun this year.

ANDERSON: Yes, all in good fun. OK. On Tuesday, we asked you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT question of the day. Just moments ago, we did get those final results. "Jay-Z and Beyonce: Are they bigger than Brangelina?" Only 35 percent of you say yes; 65 percent of you say no.

Some of the E-mails we receive. Shamika writes, "Beyonce and Jay-Z have to put in the time and kids to be as big as Brangelina. Bey needs to take a load off and have some babies."

And Thembisa from South Africa writes with a suggested name for the couple, "It`s not Jayonce, but the other way around, Beyonjay. Not many women cared what Jay-Z did, but as soon as Beyonce became his woman, he became one of the hottest things around."

Thanks for your E-mail.

HAMMER: How about Beyon-Z? We haven`t brought that one up yet.

ANDERSON: It`s pretty good.

HAMMER: More on that later. That is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. Don`t forget, you can catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT every night on the 11:00s - 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific, and in the morning, 11:00 a.m. Eastern on HLN.
