(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: It`s the heartbreaking interview you`ll see only on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show starts right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City with big news breaking today - Chris Brown`s on-stage breakdown.

And I can tell you the blogosphere went absolutely wild over what appears to Chris Brown`s emotional breakdown. That was last night`s BET Awards during a tribute to Michael Jackson.

So were Chris` tears crocodile tears and a big old publicity stunt? Or was his breakdown genuine? Now, it`s no secret Chris Brown has fighting this uphill and losing battle for sympathy ever since he admitted he brutally beat Rihanna.

And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you the fact that so many people today are still questioning anything he does, that`s not a good thing for Chris.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(MUSIC)

(voice-over): An incredible moment on live TV last night - Chris Brown breaking down on the stage during a tribute to Michael Jackson at the BET Awards. Brown had started last night`s performance by channeling M.J.`s thrilling dance moves.

(SINGING)

HAMMER: But when it came time to sing "Man in the Mirror," Brown got so choked up he couldn`t finish.

(SINGING)

APRIL WOODARD, HOST/CORRESPONDENT, BET: People were in tears. There was not a dry eye around.

HAMMER: BET`s April Woodard was there during Brown`s breakdown. She tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT no one at the BET Awards could believe what they were seeing.

WOODARD: When he began to sing "Man in the Mirror," that`s a very emotional song for anybody. It had dual meaning for Chris because he loves his idol Michael Jackson. But also he`s had to look at himself in the mirror and maybe not so happy with the image that he had seen.

HAMMER: It was Brown`s first big TV performance since he pleaded guilty for brutally beating up his ex-girlfriend Rihanna last year. And today, the morning shows weren`t shy about bringing it up.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Let`s not forget how Rihanna must have felt when she looked in the mirror post beat-down and saw the fat lip, bloodied mouth and swollen eye compliments of Chris Brown.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: A lot of people questioning whether or not it`s more of a ploy, getting back in the spotlight.

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you all of America is asking the same question today. Was Chris Brown`s breakdown a genuine display of emotion from a regretful guy who has had a rough year? Or was this a carefully crafted publicity stunt from an abuser in need of a career boost?

KEN BAKER, EXECUTIVE NEWS EDITOR, "E!": I think a lot of people don`t trust Chris Brown. They thought they knew him before. They thought he was a good guy and he was very calm and respectful.

And then, we find out what he did to Rihanna and that change everyone`s perception. That`s why people don`t trust him when they see him out there in an emotional way because they sort of feel as though he`s broken their trust before.

HAMMER: Chris Brown is serving five years probation in addition to the six months community service he also got for beating Rihanna. He`s apologized repeatedly.

DEBRA LEE, CEO, BET: He`s paid his dues.

HAMMER: Debra Lee, the CEO of BET, tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT the organizers of the BET Awards felt Brown has done enough to earn a place on stage.

LEE: People have to make a living and I think he`s answered his critics. And you know, hopefully, it will work out.

HAMMER: But the public isn`t exactly telling Chris Brown that all is forgiven. His last album, "Graffiti," was released last December and it was a huge flop. And earlier this month, the U.K. wouldn`t let him in the country for his tour because of his criminal conviction.

(MUSIC)

And even if Brown`s breakdown was real and not a publicity stunt, today, some people are saying, so what? "EntertainmentWeekly.com`s" Simon Vozick- Levinson writes, quote, "Intimate partner violence is not something you can make up for with a few well-executed dance moves or on-stage sobs."

BAKER: There`s going to be people who will never forgive Chris Brown. I think that Chris Brown has a long road ahead of him. This appearance and him maybe winning over some people with his emotions here is just one step. I think he`s still got a long way to go.

HAMMER: So for now, we`ll see if Chris Brown`s tears are worth more than a thousand "I`m sorry."

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: And all that leads to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint today - was Chris Brown`s breakdown sincere or was it publicity ploy?

Right now in Hollywood is Tanika Ray. She is an entertainment journalist. Also in Hollywood, Carlos Diaz, he is a syndicated radio host.

Now, here`s how I see it, guys. I watched Chris` performance over and over today trying to figure this out. I don`t think it was a publicity stunt. What I saw was this young man overwhelmed by an intense situation on many levels.

He`s up on that stage. He`s getting a taste of what it used to be - what his life used to be like knowing now that he threw it all away. To me, it`s as if he was really mourning the loss of his career, not Michael Jackson. Now, Tanika, I know you were right there in the audience.

TANIKA RAY, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST: Yes.

HAMMER: Did you get the sense that Chris` breakdown was sincere? Or was it a publicity ploy in your mind?

RAY: No. I know you`re expecting me to be a cynic but I was right there with him. His mea culpa - it was sort of the perfect storm for his mea culpa. And it made me very happy for him.

I`ve been saying on this show for over a year now that he has to hit rock bottom in order for him to revitalize his life, evolve as a person and as a man and to grow into the man we always thought that he was.

I think, last night, as he was on the floor crying in crocodile tears, he finally hit rock bottom. But it wasn`t fake. What it was, was he was conjuring the spirit of Michael Jackson, his hero, the icon that he always worshipped and all that brought up all this emotion.

By the time it came to sing the song, that was dual. It was a song about looking at himself in the mirror. It all hit him in a very emotional way. And I thought it was incredibly sincere.

HAMMER: All right. I appreciate your perspective as somebody who was right there. And everybody was talking about this today on blog after blog, Web site after Web site. I mean, I was everywhere online and everybody is taking sides on Chris`s breakdown.

RAY: Yes.

HAMMER: Here are just a couple of posts from our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page. This is Aisha A. writing, "Publicity stunt, an excuse for BET to welcome him back into the entertainment industry."

On to Teri E. who disagrees, writing, "Of course it was sincere."

But no dice for Christal R. Christal writes, "One word - pathetic."

HAMMER: Carlos, how do you see it? Sincere or publicity ploy?

CARLOS DIAZ, SYNDICATED RADIO HOST: Well, let`s not forget - and I talked to several radio executives - radio executives this morning. And let`s not forget that Chris was supposed to do this last year. He was in line to do this tribute to Michael Jackson last year and Jay-Z was, like, "No way. My girl Rihanna - he`s not doing it."

So he was kind of kicked out last year. So he had a lot of time to think about this. So that kind of, you know, goes to the fact that maybe he was emotional. But - and I`ve talked to a few people about this who agree.

Maybe he was just tired because, in all honesty, he did all those dance moves. And then, it came time to sing and he`s out of breath.

RAY: No -

DIAZ: And it`s like, "Oh, man. I can`t sing right now. Let me just bust out some tears." But here`s the thing though -

HAMMER: Yes.

DIAZ: Here`s the thing. Because if you listen to him at the beginning, he really could not sing. I mean, he -

RAY: No.

DIAZ: So was it emotions or was it him being exhausted from the amazing four minutes of dance moves we saw before that.

RAY: Emotions.

HAMMER: Now, Tanika -

RAY: We`ve seen him perform - well, we`ve seen him perform like 12 minutes long and still be able to carry a note. This was not outside of the boundaries of what he`s done on stage over and over again. I look at the audience at the women. They went from, "Chris Brown is performing" to, "Chris Brown, he`s back."

DIAZ: And that`s a great point today -

RAY: He`s won the hearts of people.

DIAZ: Is that the women - the women were won over. The women were standing and cheering.

RAY: Absolutely.

DIAZ: And that is the best thing for Chris Brown`s career right now, the women actually being on his side again.

HAMMER: He still has a lot of people who will not forget what he did. And you know what?

RAY: Absolutely.

HAMMER: And that`s how it should be. You reap what you sow, so we`ll see where this goes from here. But I do want to move from Chris Brown`s controversial Michael Jackson tribute to a startling new controversy over the man himself today.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on the red carpet at the BET Awards. And everybody, of course, marking the one year anniversary of Michael`s death. The always outspoken reality star Omarosa says it is time for someone to go to jail for Michael`s death. Let`s watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

OMAROSA MANIGAULT STALLWORTH, REALITY TV STAR, "THE APPRENTICE": If someone is found to have been negligent in the death of Michael Jackson, I think that they need to serve the maximum amount of time in prison.

JOHN LEGEND, SINGER: Obviously, I don`t think anybody tried to kill him. But I think you can do homicide by negligence as well, so who knows if he`s guilty or not of that. I`ll let the jury decide.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: All right. Well, late today, the results of our exclusive SHOWBIZ TONIGHT poll, we asked this - "Michael Jackson One Year Later: Do you believe anyone will go to jail over his death?" And look at this. Only 18 percent say yes. Carlos, seems people are giving up hope there`s going to be justice here.

DIAZ: It shows the people who watch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT are intelligent because we`ve seen this all before. I mean, who do you point the finger at? And if you point the finger at Dr. Conrad Murray, the guy has already paid an amazing - he`ll never practice again. The guy has basically been found guilty by the American public. So I mean, you know, what`s more to do with this guy? So yes, I think the people are right on this one.

HAMMER: All right. Carlos Diaz, Tanika Ray, thank you both, guys.

And as move on, we have the shocking ex files today - that`s the ex. I`m talking brand-new break-up battles, explosive new claims against Mel Gibson that`s coming from his ex-girlfriend.

And Michael Douglas` wife. Check this out. She wants millions of dollars from him today, but they`ve been divorced for like 10 years and she already got tons of money from him.

Big news breaking today about Sandra Bullock and Jesse James. These two getting back together? Yes, not happening. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with the startling proof. I will reveal it to you today.

And a dramatic SHOWBIZ exclusive today. Farrah Fawcett`s family - the heart wrenching interview you`ll see only on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

RYAN O`NEAL: I miss her a lot. I don`t know how well I`m doing. Redmond is doing extremely well.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views. This is the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Michael Jackson memorabilia sells for almost $1 million on the anniversary of his death. Motley Crue singer Vince Neil arrested in Las Vegas on drunken driving charge.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

RYAN O`NEAL: The whole world had a love affair with her. And it broke their hearts when she left us.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Farrah Fawcett`s long time companion, Ryan O`Neal, in a SHOWBIZ exclusive today one year after Farrah Fawcett`s death.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

It was not just Ryan O`Neal opening up about Farrah but also their troubled son Redmond and his half-sister, Tatum. They spoke exclusively with CNN entertainment writer Alan Duke. Alan`s joins me right now from Hollywood with that incredible interview.

Alan, congratulations on this exclusive. I have to tell you I was really struck by how open they were with you as they talked about still coming to terms with Farrah Fawcett`s death including Redmond. So great to see him.

He got a one-day pass, I know, from drug rehab so he could visit his mother`s grave. Let`s watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

RYAN O`NEAL: I miss her a lot. I don`t know how well I`m doing. Redmond is doing extremely well. He is recovering from a terrible disease. He seems to have cured himself. We`re thrilled about that. And that`s why he`s here, because they let him.

REDMOND O`NEAL, SON OF RYAN O`NEAL AND FARRAH FAWCETT: To show my face and let everybody know that I`m doing good, you know. I can`t hide forever.

TATUM O`NEAL, DAUGHTER OF RYAN O`NEAL: And how handsome he is and how much he looks like Farrah. And how proud she would be and how lucky I am that I can at least be here.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: And I`ll have to say it really is a remarkable scene right there. Let`s not forget Tatum O`Neal was bitterly estranged from her father until Farrah died.

ALAN DUKE, CNN ENTERTAINMENT WRITER: Yes. I was shocked that I had this access. It was a private gathering of family and friends of the Farrah Fawcett Foundation offices. They were cutting the ribbon on it.

They had just been to the grave of Farrah Fawcett, Redmond`s first visit there. And what I saw, a loving family supportive of each other, each having their own problems but supporting each other, especially Redmond as he had that one day pass.

HAMMER: It was really terrific to see him and it really seems to me, by all accounts and from everything we`ve been reading and hearing, that Redmond really has turned his life around since his mother`s death.

Alan, you did ask him if he thought Farrah, who, of course, was an advocate for those fighting addiction, would consider him a hero. Let`s watch what he said.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

REDMOND O`NEAL: I don`t know about a hero but, you know, I`m just hopefully showing others that it`s, you know - it can be done.

RYAN O`NEAL: He`s living proof.

TATUM O`NEAL: He can go through all of that hardship and it can help someone else. And that`s the beauty of our recovery and the 12 steps and all that. It`s really about that.

REDMOND O`NEAL: It`s not impossible.

TATUM: It`s not impossible and he is the proof of it because - look at him. And look at me.

RYAN O`NEAL: And look at me.

TATUM O`NEAL: And look at you. No, look at me.

RYAN O`NEAL: No, look at me.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: That must have been terrific for you, I mean, really to get a light-hearted moment like that on what was such a serious day there. Were you surprised that the interview went from tears to laughter? Really seemed to cut through the tension there.

DUKE: Thank goodness they started laughing because I think everybody, including my photographer, was crying or about to, because it was obviously sincere. And you had this family that`s gone through so much especially in the last year or more than the last year sort of breathing and being together. So it was a very real moment for me and I think for them.

HAMMER: Yes. Really great stuff, Alan, and thank you for sharing it with us. I`m so glad you were able to get those three together. How incredible. Alan Duke, thanks so much.

Well, as we move on right now, the "Showbiz on Call" phone calls have been ringing and ringing today. There`s a big debate over whether someone should go to jail over Michael Jackson`s death.

Linda called in from Oregon and Linda thinks that Michael`s doctor should be locked up.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

LINDA, CALLER FROM OREGON: I believe Conrad Murray should be thrown into the jail. Michael Jackson - he might have been addicted to drugs but he didn`t administer that Propofol.

So why is it taking so long for them to try him? I think that`s disgraceful. And I hope - I hope they throw the book at him.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

HAMMER: Dr. Murray is about to go on trial for involuntary manslaughter. Thank you very much, Linda. Now, Delcie from Ohio says that the only person to blame for Michael`s death is Michael.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

DELCIE, CALLER FROM OHIO: I do not understand about Michael Jackson, why they want to blame somebody else. This man has mutilated his body, has not taken care of himself for a very, very long time. How can anybody blame anybody else for his death?

(END AUDIO CLIP)

HAMMER: Appreciate your call, Delcie. I would love for you to call us at "Showbiz on Call" to sound on this or anything else. The "Showbiz on Call" phone lines always open at 1-888-SBT-BUZZ. That`s 1-888-728-2899. That`s where you can leave us a voicemail so we can play your call here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

Bad news for Tom Cruise. I bet he has the Monday blues. I`m going to reveal the dramatic reasons why today is just not a good day in Tom Cruise land.

Lady Gaga versus President Obama? Yes, these two, believe it or not, are in a brand-new battle today. You`ve got to hear about this. I really hope she didn`t give him the finger. Remember she did that at a Mets game not too long ago? That would be really, really bad, right?

And there have been so many reports of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie breaking up. Well, finally, thank goodness, Angie sets the record straight today. I`ll tell you exactly what she is saying. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Now, it`s the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Tori Spelling says she connected with Farrah Fawcett`s spirit in psychic session. Marie Osmond takes part in big tribute to Dick Clark during daytime Emmys.

(SINGING)

HAMMER: Did you see this? Katy Perry goes topless. Check out this new cover of "U.K. Esquire." We just got it today. Pretty provocative, right? At least, in this shot, the soon-to-be Mrs. Russell Brand isn`t wearing cake frosting-shooting bikini top like Katy sports in her "California Girl" video.

Well, the controversial teen sailor speaks today for the very first time since her around-the-world sailing voyage failed. Abby Sunderland is opening up about her scary trip.

Abby`s parents have been criticized. Some say they should never have let 16-year-old Abby try this on her on. She was rescued after waves cracked her mast in Indian Ocean.

But on this morning`s "Today" show, Abby revealed what`s next for her and gave a chilling account of what happened when she got hit by that rogue wave that ended her dreams.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ABBY SUNDERLAND, TEEN SAILOR: It just went flying across the room. And I was expecting it to stop at a certain point and me to pop back up, you know, like knockdown but it didn`t. It just kept on going.

Before I knew it, I was on the roof. I just put everything into getting the boat and myself ready, and so it was really - it was a weird feeling, you know, knowing that I`m never going to see that boat again. It`s sad.

I`m going to finish high school, get my driver`s license. I`m really looking forward to seeing my little brothers and sisters and, you know, my dog and all that. But yes, a little bit nervous, actually, about getting home.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: What a brave young woman. Abby Sunderland is on her way home to California. She`s going to be live on the "Today" show this Wednesday.

Well, there`s a big debate going on right now in our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page over Anna Nicole Smith. The famous crying judge, the one who decided where Anna should be buried, is out with a new book. He wants Anna Nicole`s death to be reinvestigated.

And this makes Yvonne H. really angry. She writes, "This is the most I inappropriate judge I`ve ever seen. Judges should not be able to write books or the like about their cases."

Now, Christy M. says Anna should be able to rest in peace, "I feel bad for Anna. Even in death, people are trying to use her to get into the limelight."

You can join the debate on Facebook, go behind the scenes of SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. You can also get breaking entertainment news alert on Twitter. Call us at "Showbiz on Call." ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City with big news breaking today - Mad Mel`s messy split.

Yes, Mel Gibson`s ex-girlfriend, who, of course is the mother of Mel`s 8- month-old baby girl, is accusing him of abuse. Mel is furiously denying those claims.

Oksana Grigorieva, who is a Russian wannabe pop star, filed a restraining order against Mel a week ago. And now, Mel has filed a restraining order against her. So what`s the real story behind this he said, she said Mad Mel mess?

Right now, in New York, is Sunny Hostin who is a legal contributor on "In Session" that`s on our sister network, Tru TV. Also right now in Hollywood is Carlos Diaz. Carlos is a syndicated radio host.

So from the minute Mel hit the red carpet with Oksana - this was about a year ago, I`ve got to tell you, I can confession, there has not been a single moment that I thought, yes, these two they`re going to be together until the end of time. Carlos, was I crazy for thinking that?

DIAZ: A.J., no, you weren`t. Rebound girl? Come on now. We all knew this was going to be something that wasn`t going to last too long. But it actually had a chance to kind of revive Mel`s - I don`t know - public persona, if you will. Like, wow, he`s with a young person and, you know, he`s new and he`s hip.

But now, this is teetering on the edge of destroying Mel. If all these allegations are true or even some of them are true, this is not what Mel Gibson needs at this time.

HAMMER: Yes. And those allegations coming out in a brand-new report today - Oksana is accusing Mel of beating her up. She filed a restraining order last week. And then, as I said, Mel filed one himself right after.

Look, we don`t know what happened behind closed doors but Mel Gibson has been on public probation for quite some time now. Sunny, I am thinking if it comes out that any of these allegations prove to be true and he did hit her, Mel is toast. He`s done.

SUNNY HOSTIN, LEGAL CONTRIBUTOR, "IN SESSION": I`m going to agree although he seems to have nine lives, let`s face it. I mean, he makes all these ridiculous remarks. He gets into car accidents - all these sorts of things and he has been forgiven and he still has some box office pull.

But the person that`s going to get the last laugh is his wife of over 28 years who basically he left for this woman. They had seven children together and I say they`re both getting what they deserve.

HAMMER: But here`s the thing, and I`ll stand by this, when domestic abuse is involved, if allegations are proven to be true, I think that`s a game- changer entirely. I don`t care what Mel has said in the past. I think it changes everything.

HOSTIN: I think you`re right.

HAMMER: Well, I do want to move on right now to more big news. It`s another big break-up mess in the showbiz ex files. Michael Douglas and his longtime ex-wife are duking it out in a divorce sequel over a sequel.

Also, Prince Harry takes a royal tumble. All this making big news in "The Buzz" today. A royal fall. Britain`s Prince Harry just rode into New York City for a charity polo match. And while his royal highness had a little problem staying on his horse, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was right there as he did succeed in raising money for children in Africa orphaned by the AIDS epidemic.

PRINCE HARRY, SON OF PRINCE CHARLES: My message is, it`s fantastic to be back here in New York and even better to be here again on Governors Island. With your support, the 400,000 orphans and vulnerable children of Lesotho(ph), nearly one quarter of the population of our country, can find hope where there is none, a future out of bleakness. Thank you very much.

HAMMER: From hero to tabloid star? U.S. World Cup soccer hero Landon Donovan is responding for the first time to reports he got a woman pregnant and it wasn`t his wife, "Rules of Engagement" star, Bianca Kajilich.

Landon tells CNN/SI this is a personal matter but he didn`t deny it saying, quote, "I was informed of the possibly during the World Cup. And if I need to take responsibility, then I will provide the appropriate support."

The Douglas` divorce sequel. We just learned that Michael Douglas and his ex-wife are reportedly battling over profits from his "Wall Street" sequel, and it hasn`t even been opened yet and it has been more than 10 years since they got divorced.

The "New York Post" reports that Diandra Douglas has filed suit for half of the money in royalties from "Wall Street 2" because he starred in the original film while they were married.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

And you know, I saw this story and I was thinking how ironic is it that Gordon Gecko, Michael Douglas` famed character is the one that said, "Greed is good." I`m doubting that Michael Douglas is agreeing with that right about now.

This Douglas divorce draw drama leads us to today`s SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, "Does Michael`s ex-wife deserve half of what he gets for a `Wall Street` sequel?" Sonny, there is a reason I brought you in today.

HOSTIN: Yes.

HAMMER: You are our attorney on retainer here in the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT house. This seems nuts to me. They`ve been divorced for more than 10 years but does she potentially deserve half of what he earns on this film?

HOSTIN: Legally, she may get it. There is a clause in their divorce agreement that says she is entitled to 50 percent of any spin-off from any of his movies that he made while they were married.

Now, legally, she may have something there. But I`ve got to tell you, I feel a little icky about this. I mean, divorced for 10 years and now, she`s coming back almost from the divorce marriage grave to grab his money. I don`t like it but I will say that`s some fancy lawyering there. She may actually get it.

HAMMER: Wow. We`ve got to write that one down, Carlos. I mean, that`s a really good little piece of information. I had no idea. Now, of course, you know, same as you, the ladies of "The View" had a field day over the Douglases today. Check out what they had to say about all the divorce drama.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

WHOOPI GOLDBERG, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": There comes a time at some point where you, as the woman, have to move on, because it`s just like, "OK, I understand you want to keep a piece. But you know what? Back off."

(CROSS TALK)

JOY BEHAR, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": She may not make her own, then she - so she wants it from him. She did get something like $45-million-in-a-year rich from the divorce.

GOLDBERG: What did you do with all of that? What did you do with all of that money?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. I mean, Diandra Douglas apparently walked away with about $45 million from their divorce 10 years ago. Carlos, are you with me? And I think Sunny - should Diandra just back off at this point?

DIAZ: They should call it "Wall Street Money Never Forgets," all right? I mean, seriously, you know what? Let`s give her half the brick cell phone that he had in the original "Wall Street" because it was made 20 years ago.

This is not like the "Eclipse" movies that he showed out every six months. This was "Wall Street 1." They made it in the `80s. I mean, forget about it. Let`s move on. The movie came out 20 years ago. You`ve been divorced for 10 years. Just take that $45 million, spend that, forget about all these - you know. What are you going to do? "Romancing the Stone" next? You want that money too? Come on.

HAMMER: Yes. But I`ve got to say, you know, there is something to the idea that they put this deal together all that time ago. She was thinking or her lawyer was thinking and they put it in. And now, hey, we get to cash in that chip, don`t we?

HOSTIN: I mean, unbelievable. If I ever get a divorce, I`m hiring that lawyer because that is some agreement.

HAMMER: You know attorneys. All right. I do want to move on to this other story making for big news breaking today. And I don`t know. There`s something sad about this one to me. Donovan, the daddy?

Yes, team USA soccer superstar, Landon Donovan. You know the guy. You saw him bring the U.S. to victory. Well, he`s responding today to reports that he got a woman pregnant in England. It was not his wife, "Rules of Engagement" star Bianca Kajilic.

Now, Sunny, he`s not denying that he did this or that he had some role in this. We obviously know what role would be.

HOSTIN: Yes.

HAMMER: But it really highlights how amazing it is. At one moment, within the same week, you can be on top of the world. Everybody`s revering you. And then, at the other moment, well, you can be just another cad who potentially has, you know, gone outside his marriage and fathered a child.

HOSTIN: It`s so true. I mean, I don`t understand what`s going on with the sports guys, though. I don`t know if it`s the sports making them crazy or the crazy people are attracted to the sports.

I mean, you`ve got Kobe. You`ve got tiger. You now have Tiki. And now, you have Donovan. It`s like, he just seemed wholesome and fabulous. And now, all of a sudden, he`s a big jerk.

HAMMER: Carlos, this one bummed me out, man.

DIAZ: Look how hot - look how hot his wife is there. Come on. What are you thinking? But you know what? In all honesty, though, this is the one way to get Americans to be excited about soccer - scandal.

HOSTIN: Oh, yes.

DIAZ: We have scandal in golf, in football, in baseball, in basketball. Why not have it in soccer and people will start watching now?

HAMMER: It`s very trendy right now. Why the heck not?

DIAZ: Yes, exactly.

HAMMER: Sunny Hostin, Carlos Diaz, thanks, guys, so much.

HAMMER: Tom Cruise`s now action flick, "Night and Day," opened over the weekend. And the result? His worst opening in 20 years. Bad news for Tom Cruise?

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. And it sure looked like bad news for Tom Cruise today. He might have a case of the Monday blues.

But first, big divorce day today for Sandra Bullock and Jesse James. Yes, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you late today, we did confirm the unexpected news breaking that Sandra and Jesse`s divorce is final. It`s over. It`s kaput. They are no more a couple.

Joining me right now in Hollywood, Tanika Ray, who is an entertainment journalist. Right now, in New York, Imogen Lloyd Webber, who is the author of a fine book called "A Single Girl`s Guide."

So yes, there you have it. It`s official - Sandra and Jesse now officially divorced. We learned today that they quietly filed these papers under seal last week to finalize the whole thing, just about two months after Sandra initially filed for divorce.

Tanika, all things said, this really has to be one of the quickest, simplest celebrity divorces ever in Hollywood. I mean, there`s been so little noise between the two of them, don`t you think?

RAY: Absolutely. Sandra does it right. You know, she should write a book on how to navigate your way through Hollywood without getting the toxins all over you. She knows how to play this game and she definitely made a decision.

She went away, go some time to herself, spent some time with Louie, that adorable little baby, and decided, no more. I say, "Go, girl."

HAMMER: Yes.

RAY: Enough is enough.

HAMMER: No, I was -

RAY: He absolutely violated her trust. That was done.

HAMMER: I was really, really impressed with how she handled this, a lot of grace, loads of dignity. And I`m thinking Sandra obviously wants to put the whole scandal behind her and she just wants to move on and hopes that people are going to forget that Jesse James cheated on her.

But Imogen, I don`t think that that`s going to happen, do you?

IMOGEN LLOYD WEBBER, AUTHOR, "A SINGLE GIRL`S GUIDE": I disagree. (UNINTELLIGIBLE) absolutely is going to happen.

HAMMER: Yes.

WEBBER: What she`s done here is textbook. She got rid of him extremely quickly. Talk about being single. She`s done that. America - lots of respect for her. They wouldn`t respect her if she hung around and gone back to him. Moving forward, they`re going to be concentrating on her Oscar and celebrating her.

HAMMER: It`s going to be interesting to see how it plays out. Go ahead, Tanika.

RAY: And she told us to do that, too, when she came to the awards show.

HAMMER: That`s right.

RAY: She said, "Just keep making fun of me. Let`s get back to normal and we`re going to follow suite."

HAMMER: Yes. You know, I hope Imogen is right. I hope that`s what happened. I just - you know, we see how people really get mad at stars who do bad things to the stars that we love.

I do want to move on right now to another big story just in today. Angelina`s confession. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT got an advanced copy today of the explosive new issue of "Vanity Fair" magazine. And in this thing, Angelina Jolie, puts the rumors to rest once and for all that she and Brad Pitt are splitting up.

She says that they`re not and they haven`t ruled out marriage. Listen to this. She says, "Children are clearly a commitment, a bigger commitment than marriage. It`s for life. I feel fortunate to have a relationship where I actually feel safe enough to imagine growing old together."

Look, we all have seen them, the false reports over the years, that these two were splitting up. A lot of speculation always going on. In one sentence right there, Angelina put it all to rest. Tanika, I don`t understand why she didn`t do it sooner.

RAY: She did. They`ve been telling us for years now. I don`t know what kind of confession that was. Brad`s been saying forever, "We`re happy. We`re committed to the children. We`re committed to our family."

And they keep repeating it in different words. It`s the same message. They`re not interested in getting married until marriage is legal for everybody. They`ve said that a couple of times.

HAMMER: Sure.

RAY: And they`re going to get married for us. And I think, we, as the public - we`re trying to be satisfied by this - this, like, king and queen meet and they get married in a big chapel and have, like, big tiaras and dresses. They could care less.

HAMMER: Yes.

RAY: And I love the fact that they`re setting that example. They love their kids. They`re great parents and that`s all we need to be concerned about.

HAMMER: Well, I love the fact that they do it their own way. That is something that has always impressed me about them as a couple. They don`t really care about the noise that`s going on around them.

But I will say that Angelina dropped what I thought was a massive bombshell revelation in this "Vanity Fair" interview. She tells them, she`s thinking about quitting acting.

Let me tell you exactly what she said, "I don`t think I`ll do it much longer. Because I have a happy home. I got back from work last night, and everybody was playing music and dancing and suddenly, I found myself dancing around with a bunch of little fun crazy people.

I`ve got to tell you, I can respect that quite a bit as well. But you know, I mean, do you think, Imogen, that Angie`s actually going to get through it?

WEBBER: First of all, this is all because she`s promoting a movie called, "Salt," which is out next month. And I would take every word that she says in the article with a large pinch of salt. I`m sorry.

First of all, on the whole marriage rumors, there`s no smoke without fire. From what I hear, they will break up. It`s just when. It`s really quite extraordinary. I don`t pretty much believe a word that she said.

HAMMER: Really?

WEBBER: It`s all PR. It`s like, complete rubbish as they say in the U.K.

HAMMER: Yes. I`m a little disheartened to hear that.

(CROSS TALK)

I`ve got to tell you, I don`t think - you know, they`re the one couple that I don`t want to believe all the hype. I understand why the hype is there because they`re the most famous couple on the planet.

But guess what? We`ll leave it at that, because I do want to move to another big story that`s just in today - Tom Cruise`s conundrum.

And I`ve got to tell you, I`m feeling not so good for Tom right now. His highly anticipated comeback thriller, "Night and Day," opened nationwide over the weekend. Cameron Diaz co-stars in this thing. And it was Tom`s worst opening weekend for an action flick in 20 years.

RAY: Yes.

HAMMER: Which has to be hard news because he threw himself into this. Tanika, do you think this is devastating? I mean, on a personal level for Tom, because he had so much invested in this.

RAY: Yes. Absolutely. If you don`t evolve with the times, the times will evolve all over your behind. And when it comes down to it, he`s not a leading man anymore. And I don`t know if that`s the studio saying he`s too old to play that sexy leading guy. I`m not sure.

HAMMER: Yes.

RAY: All I know is from day one, when I saw them promoting on "Oprah," the writing was on the wall. They had fake chemistry. They didn`t have their pictures on the posters, the billboards around the country. It was done, sealed deal.

HAMMER: Too, too bad is what I have to say.

RAY: Yes.

HAMMER: I want to see Tom get into comedy at this point. Tanika Ray, Imogen Lloyd Webber, I appreciate you both being here. Thanks.

Moving on to Lady Gaga versus President Obama. Her goofy getups may certainly be a little kooky. Say what you want about some of her outrageous behavior. But today, Gaga just did something that even President Obama couldn`t do and he`s the president of the United States. All hail, Lady Gaga, I guess.

And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Will.I.am denies reports Fergie leaving Black Eyed Peas. Tom Cruise and Jimmy Kimmel jump off the roof.

HAMMER: John Legend is one of the best musicians and singers out there these days. And today, this Hollywood A-lister is putting his talent to excellent use. John just celebrated a huge new award at the BET Awards.

Legend received BET`s 2010 Humanitarian Award. John says, growing up, his parents stressed the importance of service. And he revealed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT why helping out is his mission.

LEGEND: It`s about really making an impact on people`s lives. It`s not really about the weight of it. I`m just being myself and living and learning and then speaking out when I can. And so this is not about any burden or any weight. It`s just really about what comes naturally to me.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BARACK OBAMA, UNITED STATES PRESIDENT: Thank you so much all of you. It is a privilege to be here tonight to open for Lady Gaga. I`ve made it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: President Obama having some fun at a star-studded charity event in Washington, D.C. That was back in October. Even on his own turf, President Obama was no match for Lady Gaga. All hail, Lady Gaga.

And I can tell you, today, there`s another big battle happening right now between President Barack Obama and superstar Lady Gaga, and that battlefield is Facebook, both trying to get to the magic number of 10 million Facebook friend.

Now, the president used to have more Facebook fans than Lady Gaga. But I`m here to tell you, not anymore. Lady Gaga took the lead over the weekend. This lady is a champ. She has more than 9.4 million fans right now in Facebook. President Obama - he`s sitting right at around 9.2 million.

You know, Lady Gaga, President Obama - I like them both. But I`ve got to tell you, we`re also getting tons of new SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook fans every day. So watch out. We`re working on it.

Brand-new bombshell revelations today coming from Todd Bridges. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT caught up with Todd at the BET Awards. Todd had plenty to say about the shocking and, of course, tragic death of his friend and former "Diffr`nt Strokes" co-star, Gary Coleman.

Todd has been very outspoken on Gary`s death. And he`s one of the many people to raise foul play suspicions. Gary`s estranged parents even raised questions surrounding the circumstances of Gary`s death.

Well, Todd revealed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT a new investigation might be necessary in order to find out exactly what happened to Gary once and for all.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TODD BRIDGES, ACTOR: I`m hoping that everything was (UNINTELLIGIBLE) up and I`m hoping that if it wasn`t, that it should be investigated. And they should be looked at for the world to see what`s going on. And no one`s stupid and they`re not blind. And I just hope the Utah Police Department does what they need to do. That`s all I hope.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: They`re trying to see if anything plays out there. Gary Coleman, of course, died in May. So on Friday, we asked you to vote in our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll. Moments ago, I was given the final results I`m finding very surprising today, really didn`t think it will turn out like this - "Michael Jackson One Year Later: Do you believe anyone will go to jail over his death?"

And look at how it went. Eighteen percent of you think somebody is going to jail, so a whopping 82 percent of you don`t.

There is an explosive debate going on right now about Michael Jackson`s death. It`s happening on our Facebook page. A lot of people sending in E-mails, too.

Karen, from West Virginia, says she thinks will be punished, "What happened to Michael Jackson is heartbreaking and he deserves justice."

Katrina W. just posted what I thought was simple and direct message right there on our Facebook page. She wrote, "I hope someone goes to jail so he can rest in peace."

We thank you for your E-mails and for heating up the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page as well. And I thank you for watching. That is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT now live at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Monday through Friday. And we are still TV`s most provocative entertainment news show seven days a week at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific. And of course, that`s right here on HLN.
