A.J. HAMMER, CO-HOST: Big news breaking today on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - Lindsay Lohan`s showdown in court.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: All of these things are relevant to the court in determining if she`s in violation.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is right there today as Lindsay tries to convince a judge to keep her out of jail.

Mad Mel. An explosive new reported tape today of Mel Gibson on a vile racial rant against the mother of his child.

The ugly Jake-Vienna showdown. For the first time since their big "Bachelor" breakup, Jake and Vienna come face to face.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

VIENNA GIRARDI, REALITY TV STAR, "THE BACHELOR": You are a fame whore. That`s what you are.

JAKE PAVELKA, REALITY TV STAR, "THE BACHELOR": I`m so disgusted with you.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: The remarkable, nasty he said-she said. The great debate today - team Jake or team Vienna?

The incredible news today that Lady Gaga could be more popular than President Obama.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show starts right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

BROOKE ANDERSON, CO-HOST: Hi, there, everyone, I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking all day long in the Lindsay Lohan legal showdown saga.

HAMMER: Late today, an absolute shocker. California Judge Marsha Revel rules that Lindsay Lohan violated her probation in her drunk-driving case and sentenced her to 90 days in jail. Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JUDGE MARSHA REVEL, LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT: The defendant is ordered to spend 30 days in jail on the reckless driving case, 30 days in jail on the first DUI case consecutive, and 30 days in jail on the second DUI case consecutive. That`s 90 days in jail.

The court is also going to order Dr. Sharma or put Dr. Sharma and Malinak (ph) - Kosha (ph) Sharma and Heidi Malinak(ph) - to interview the defendant, because within two days of her release from jail, she`s ordered to report to probation and she`s ordered to do a 90-day in-patient substance abuse program.

And I want Dr. Sharma and Malinak(ph) to indicate to the court and write a report to the program as to probation, as to the type of program that would best benefit her.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: All of that, and the judge also ordered Lindsay to continue wearing her alcohol monitoring bracelet. Clearly, she was not impressed at all by Lindsay`s emotional plea just before she was sentenced. Watch what Lindsay said.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LINDSAY LOHAN, ACTRESS: I did do everything I was told to do and did the best I could to, you know, balance jobs and showing up. I`m sorry.

SHAWN CHAPMAN HOLLEY, LINDSAY LOHAN`S ATTORNEY: Can she have a second?

REVEL: Absolutely.

LOHAN: In terms of going more than once a week, some people - I know that I was ordered to go once a week. I wasn`t, you know - I wasn`t missing the classes just to hang out or do anything like that. I was working, mostly, in Morocco, the trip I was working with children.

It wasn`t a vacation. It wasn`t a joke. And I respect the order. I`ve been taking it seriously. And I appreciate - the Right On Program has done so much to help me finish early because I wanted to make sure that I would come back here making you happy and the court system and show that I meant everything I put into it.

And going more than once a week, I would try to do that only because if I knew I had to work the next week, I figured - and as far as I knew, they were OK with this and I was still in compliance.

If I did three in a week or two in a week then it would make up for the fact if I had to work the next week, then, that`s why I wouldn`t be there because I`ve already done them now. So I thought as far as I knew I was in compliance.

Had I not known, had I been, you know, taken aside and told that in detail, then that would have been a different story. I`m not taking this as a joke. It`s my life and it`s my career and something I`ve worked for my entire life.

And you know, I`ve learned from my experiences. I take responsibility for my actions and I`ve tried to do the best I can in the past few weeks since I was here last which is the only time I`ve been, you know, present in front of a judge in any of my situations in terms of this specific case.

This is the only time I`ve actually - you know, and honestly, it did wake me up. Yes, of course, it scared me. And it also confused me because I was there thinking that it was OK that I missed those classes. I felt I didn`t - had I known differently, again, like I said, I would have taken it - you know, I would have made sure that I was in town each week.

And I would have balanced my work around that because I would rather, you know, be working in the long run after all than dealing with this kind of thing for the rest of my life.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, clearly, the judge didn`t buy it. The judge said, Lindsay is going to need to surrender at a court hearing on July 20th to go to jail. What an incredible day this has been.

Right now, in Burbank, is Tony Potts, who is the weekend co-host and correspondent for "Access Hollywood." Right now, in Hollywood, is Jim Moray. He is the chief correspondent for "Inside Edition" and author of the book "The Last Day of My Life."

Today, Lindsay`s judge got very annoyed and was immediately ticked off when things got underway because the school that runs Lindsay`s alcohol education program initially refused to hand over records that showed whether Lindsay did, in fact, go to class every week. Take a look at what the judge said.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

REVEL: I was told that there would be no excuses. I was told certain days that she would have to go and how often she would have to go. And I`m supposed to accept everything they say.

I have to say I`m a little bit surprised that they didn`t send me a copy of their legal papers. They gave it to both of you. It would have been nice for them to submit it to the court so the court would have had a chance to review it before coming out here.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, it`s pretty simple. The place that runs the classes says she is in compliance, but they weren`t handing over the papers that backed that up. Tony, I think what was being asked of them seemed pretty straightforward to me. Were you surprised by this?

TONY POTTS, WEEKEND CO-HOST AND CORRESPONDENT, "ACCESS HOLLYWOOD": A little bit. That`s not - you`ll go crazy here. She showed up for court. Big flipping deal. You`re supposed to. Let`s not give her A-pluses for that, for crying out loud. She`s finally there, all right? And she should be. She missed nine classes. She made them up in various other classes over the number of months.

HAMMER: Let me tell you something, Tony Potts. You know, I get excited when Lindsay shows up anywhere at all, let alone early.

POTTS: I was there -

HAMMER: Because quite frankly, it`s Lindsay Lohan and we don`t expect anything from her. So you know, I guess it just goes to show that maybe -

POTTS: OK.

HAMMER: At least somebody is getting in her ear and saying at a minimum, show up.

POTTS: But she was in - hold on, A.J. But she was in town this time. So by virtue of just careening around in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, she was bound to show up there at some point.

HAMMER: Exactly. Who knows? Maybe she was, you know, arriving from somewhere she had been out all night. I`m just saying that I have no idea, but look at this. We have brand-new video just in today of Lindsay at her alcohol education class this past weekend.

I can tell you this is what she was in town doing over the weekend. She was reportedly behind on her classes, as we`ve been talking about. So she was trying to catch up over the weekend.

Now remember, the judge said Lindsay had to go to class every week. Well, today, the bombshell dropped that Lindsay not only didn`t go every week, she made up some pretty incredible excuses. Take a look at what the co- owner the alcohol ed school said on the stand in court today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CHERYL MARSHALL, CO-OWNER OF LINDSAY`S ALCOHOL EDUCATION SCHOOL: Sometimes it was work. Sometimes it was a delayed appointment. On January 5th, she made a phone call that she was traveling back and was stuck in North Carolina and there weren`t flights out until the following day. She was on a shoot in March with a leave of absence.

REVEL: Did the program notify the court that the defendant had been out of the country the first two weeks in March?

MARSHALL: No, not at that time.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: No. All right. Jim Moret, I think this new information revealed today is pretty astounding. Details of how Lindsay snubbed those classes despite a court order. And I have to say, again, I`m not surprised listening to the excuses that were being doled out.

MORET: No, I`m not surprised either, but look at what you`re dealing with. Let`s put this into context. You`re talking about a court-mandated alcohol education class, presumably because she has a problem.

If you talk about anybody, whether they be an alcoholic, a drug abuser, you`re going to have relapses. You`re going to have periods where you miss courses. That`s why Lindsay`s lawyer is doing her best to make sure Lindsay stays on the straight and narrow, but she can`t necessarily control her every action.

HAMMER: Jim Moret, Tony Potts, thank you, guys, so much. Now, over to you. It`s our exclusive SHOWBIZ TONIGHT poll - "Lindsay Lohan in Court: Is jail the only thing that will set her straight?" What do you think? Vote at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. E-mail showbiztonight@cnn.com.

ANDERSON: Hey, Mel Gibson was lucky he didn`t get sent to jail for his drunk driving arrest. Mad Mel today - an explosive new reported tape out of Mel Gibson on a vile, racial rant against the mother of his child. What he supposedly said, so disgusting.

Also disgusting, the ugly Jake-Vienna showdown today. For the first time since their big "Bachelor" breakup, Jake and Vienna come face to face. The remarkable, nasty he-said, she-said battle. The great debate right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - team Jake or team Vienna?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PAVELKA: The thing is I never would have done this to somebody that I love. When I got down on one knee -

GIRARDI: Don`t bug me.

PAVELKA: Again, I got interrupted. Good, Lord.

GIRARDI: I`m done with this. You`re the meanest person I`ve ever met in my life.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: And the incredible news today that Lady Gaga could be more popular than President Obama? In fact, Gaga has broken an unbelievable record. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

HAMMER: Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Drug charges against Paris Hilton dropped in South Africa. "Eclipse" earns $175 million over first six days, short of "New Moon`s" $179 million over first six days.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KRISTEN STEWART, ACTRESS (as Bella Swan): Edward -

ROBERT PATTINSON, ACTOR (as Edward Cullen): If you ever touch her against her will again -

STEWART: Don`t do this.

TAYLOR LAUTNER (as Jacob Black): She`s not sure what she wants.

STEWART: Don`t do this.

PATTINSON: Let me give you a clue - wait for her to say the words.

LAUTNER: Fine. Then, she will.

STEWART: Jacob, just go, OK?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: It`s that time of year again. The annual running of the bulls in Spain. Did you see this? Check out these pictures. The bulls actually followed the people right into the water. Hey, no bull here. These folks are pretty brave or pretty darn crazy.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with A.J. Hammer in New York. And a big goodbye for Miley Cyrus today.

HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. And get this - Lady Gaga more popular than President Obama? How did that happen? It`s all making big news in "The Buzz" today.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over): Lady Gaga`s gigantic record. The pop star just became the first and only living person to pass the mark of 10 million fans on Facebook. And soon after she hit that record, she topped 11 million.

Gaga recently overtook President Obama to claim the top spot. Only five entities, none of them living people, now have more Facebook fans than Lady Gaga including the late Michael Jackson and Facebook itself.

Miley Cyrus` huge Hannah goodbye. Miley`s about to hang up her Hannah Montana alter ego and end her hit Disney show. The 17-year-old Miley tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that growing up in the tabloid spotlight has been a struggle she continues to deal with.

MILEY CYRUS, SINGER AND ACTRESS: I do always have people in my life that keep negative energy out and bring positive energy. When there`s a good article, I read those and when there`s not, they throw them away. You know, so I think I`ve always just kind of been blinded to the negative stuff and only seen the positive stuff.

HAMMER: The very last season of "Hannah Montana" begins this weekend.

Kelsey Grammer`s divorce drama. Grammer`s smacking back at reports that his marriage to Camille Donatacci finally ended when he didn`t call his eight and five-year-old sons on Father`s Day.

Grammer writes on his Web site, quote, "The truth is I did call my kids that evening," adding, "I was surprised that they did not call me in the morning. But I was thousands of miles away and working that day, so I didn`t give it a second thought."

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: Now, Kelsey has a lot more to say about his daddy drama. And let me tell you, he is not happy. But first, let`s get to Lady Gaga, shall we, and the news today that she may be more popular than President Obama. Yes.

Right now in New York is David Caplan, who is the senior editor at "People" magazine.

David, I find this mind-boggling. Lady Gaga becomes the first person ever to reach the 10 million friends mark on Facebook, beating out the leader of the free world.

David, how do you explain this? And maybe we should send Gaga to the gulf to take charge and stop that oil spill.

DAVID CAPLAN, SENIOR EDITOR, "PEOPLE" MAGAZINE: I know. See, she has a lot of power. I mean, really, Lady Gaga - her fans are people who are more hooked into social networking. They`re really hardcore diehards, so they`re into Facebook. They`re into twitter.

Obviously, the president is hooked into all those social media, too, but it`s just different. You know, you watch Gaga on Twitter. You see what she`s doing. It`s all about immediacy for her, connecting with the fans and they appreciate that.

Of course, when you`re dealing with the president of the United States, there`s a little bit of distance between him and the people.

ANDERSON: Yes. And speaking of that social networking that she does, David, I checked out Lady Gaga`s Facebook page this afternoon. And she`s now up to 11 million friends.

The only Facebook page with more fans is the late Michael Jackson at 14 million. David, would I be crazy to suggest that Gaga could catch up to Jackson on Facebook?

CAPLAN: Yes, absolutely. I mean, it`s also really amazing, like, where these new people coming or becoming her Facebook friends in the matter of days and weeks and she gets a million of them. But you know, she`s really hot right now.

She`s on tour right now, which I should also add is fueling all these Facebook friends she has, because she`s really out there. She`s in New York performing. So she`s just getting a lot more buzz. But I think she can surpass Michael Jackson, if she stays live, she definitely can do it.

ANDERSON: And if we know anything, it`s that Lady Gaga`s fans or little monsters as she calls them, are dedicated. And boy, is that fan base growing.

CAPLAN: Absolutely.

ANDERSON: OK. We`ve got move on now, David, to Kelsey Grammer`s divorce drama. He`s furious today over reports that he ignored his two young sons on Father`s Day, and that that may have played a part in his wife of 13 years filing for divorce.

As for reports that he was also seen around with a blonde woman, Kelsey admits it`s true. But he says so what, that it was his daughter. He writes this on his blog, "I do take issue with the characterization that we were smooching. But surely if that were the case, then even I admit it might be newsworthy in some fashion."

David, what do you think? Is Kelsey doing the right thing here responding to all the rumors? Or could it just feed the tabloid fires?

CAPLAN: You know what? He really is doing the right thing because we`re at the beginning, really, of the news cycle of this story. So for him, at the very beginning, which is now, to just sort of come out, debunk a bunch of these rumors, really what`s going to do is it`s really going to toss the credibility of tabloid reports about their marriage that will come out.

There are just people who won`t believe them as much. And also, you know, by him going to his blog, it`s really great. He`s controlling the flow of information.

ANDERSON: Yes.

CAPLAN: It doesn`t come from, like, you know, nameless, faceless reps. So he`s in control. And it also shows that he`s also very, you know, dedicated to his kids and that he does want to paint this picture of a sort of a harmonious divorce, if that`s possible.

ANDERSON: Yes. And I absolutely understand why he would want to defend himself. And quickly, we also know that Kelsey`s soon-to-be ex-wife has signed on to the Bravo TV series -

CAPLAN: Yes.

ANDERSON: "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." David, very quickly, how can she be a housewife if she`s getting divorced?

CAPLAN: Look at New York. Bethenny Frankel wasn`t a housewife when she joined, you know. A lot of the other housewives aren`t. So I don`t think that will stop her. She`ll be an ex-housewife.

ANDERSON: Very true. Details, details. OK. David Caplan, thanks.

HAMMER: Well, I can tell you Jessica Simpson has reportedly got a new boyfriend today. That`s pretty cool for her. But I`m hearing this guy`s a football player. Now, you remember the whole Tony Romo-Jessica Simpson mess? Yes, we`ve got to ask, is Jessica fumbling her love life?

Botox, breast implants. Has Kate Gosselin had plastic surgery? So many explosive reports out there, but today, Kate herself setting the record straight.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KATE GOSSELIN, REALITY TV STAR, "KATE PLUS 8": I`ve had a tummy tuck. We all know that.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: OK.

K. GOSSELIN: I feel like -

JOY BEHAR, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": How about boobs? Those are yours?

ELISABETH HASSELBECK, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": How is that perky?

K. GOSSELIN: Why is this so fascinating?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: And what Britney Spears says she`s so afraid of today that would make her lock up her kids, her two little boys, until they were 30 years old. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Five indicted in star burglary targeting Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton. Prince says "The Internet`s completely over."

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Big star wedding news today. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you "The Office" star Jenna Fischer - she, of course, plays Pam, married her boyfriend, writer Lee Kirk, in Malibu, California on Saturday. They got engaged last summer. This is the second marriage for Jenna.

And former beauty queen Carrie Prejean reportedly married Oakland Raiders quarterback Kyle Boller in San Diego on Friday.

Also got to talk about Katy Perry and Russell Brand. They are said to be married. And today, Katy insists she has tamed bad boy Russell by refusing to sleep with him.

Yes, in a brand-new August issue of "U.K. Esquire," Katy says she wouldn`t have sex with Russell on the first date, "Can you imagine the horrible feeling he had when he was used to getting everything he wanted? He used to basically be a professional prostitute. Now, he`s not. So he`s an extremist which can be both good and bad. I always needed someone stronger than me."

ANDERSON: Reality show star Kendra Wilkinson says that she loved Hugh Hefner. Kendra, who is out with a new book and starred on "The Girls Next Door," told the "Today" show`s Kathie Lee Gifford today that even though she was just one of Hef`s three girlfriends at one time, she really did care for him.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KENDRA WILKINSON, REALITY TV STAR: He is the - I`ve always loved him, you know what I`m saying?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.

WILKINSON: But yes. And going into it was - you know, I was a very - you know, I was 18 years old and a very free spirit. But you know, right when I got up there, it`s like - it`s like I didn`t really know what was going on. So everything was all new to me, glamorous life.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Kendra also says that she tried drugs as a teen and became a stripper, but she wasn`t, quote, "a druggy stripper."

HAMMER: So as soon as Lindsay Lohan stepped into court this morning, surprisingly early I might add, our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook wall lit up. You know the judge could throw Lindsay in jail. So we had to ask - is jail the only thing that can actually set Lindsay Lohan straight?

Kathleen M. writing this, "I like her but she needs help. Obviously, what she has been doing hasn`t worked. It`s amazing what time in jail can do for a person."

But Abby D. says, "Leave this young girl alone, please. We were all young once."

ANDERSON: And now, the SHOWBIZ lineup. Here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

Mad Mel. An explosive, new reported tape today of Mel Gibson on a vile racial rant against the mother of his child.

And the ugly Jake-Vienna showdown. For the first time since their big "Bachelor" breakup, Jake and Vienna come face to face. The remarkable, nasty he said-she said battle.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PAVELKA: The thing is, I would have never done this to somebody that I love. When I got down on one knee -

GIRARDI: Don`t bug me.

PAVELKA: Again, I got interrupted. Good lord -

GIRARDI: I`m done with this. You are the meanest person I`ve ever met in my life.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: And today I can tell you that Jessica Simpson`s reportedly got a new boyfriend. I`m revealing why might be a terrible idea for her. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

HAMMER: Here comes the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - these are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: British actor Andrew Garfield replaces Tobey Maguire in "Spider Man." Actress who played old "Rose" in "Titanic," Gloria Stuart, turns 100.

The ugly Jake and Vienna showdown. The reality TV stars face off for the first time since their big "Bachelor" breakup. The shocking allegations, the nasty name-calling.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PAVELKA: The thing is, I would have never done this to somebody that I love. When I got down on one knee -

(END VIDEO CLIP)

Kate`s plastic surgery confession. Kate Gosselin setting the record straight about what`s absolutely real and what she`s had nip-tucked.

Plus, breaking today from the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - George Michael gets arrested again. And mom-to-be Alicia Keys` frightening fall.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - Mel`s new mess. Today, Mel Gibson caught in an outrageous war of words with the woman who bore his love child.

HAMMER: Yes. Mel Gibson is facing yet another incredible controversy today. This time, he`s reportedly heard ranting and raving and going absolutely off on his now-ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, in a racist tirade.

Mel and Oksana are reportedly fighting over custody of their eight-month- old daughter, and it appears the mudslinging has begun on both sides.

With me right now in New York is Janell Snowden. Janell is a host with VH1 News. In Beverly Hills, Jim Moret, who is a chief correspondent for "Inside Edition" and the author of "The Last Day of My Life."

So all of this began with a reported tape of Mel Gibson ranting and raving at his now ex-girlfriend. And here`s what we hear today from a spokesperson for Mel Gibson.

He tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - this is a quote, "I am sorry, but we are not able to confirm the authenticity or validity of any alleged recording. Beyond that, I am unable to respond in any manner at this time."

Wow. Jim Moret, you know, when you think about Mel`s past racial rants, you know, the little deal where he got arrested for drunk driving and then went off.

MORET: Yes.

HAMMER: I would have thought that he would have just come out and outright denied this. What does is say to you?

MORET: It wasn`t a denial, that`s what it says to me. The other thing that we`ve learned is you just have to assume that everything you do is being recorded.

I mean, you know, let`s face it. Somebody of this high profile, you get into a fight with somebody. It`s not uncommon nowadays to surreptitiously tape things. It`s very easy. The fact that there`s no outright denial I think is very telling.

HAMMER: Yes. I think really, really strange. You would think if they know this thing doesn`t exist, well, they would certainly say it. Brooke Anderson, out to you. We heard from Mel`s people, but what`s Oksana`s camp saying today?

ANDERSON: A.J., she`s not saying much about the alleged tape. Oksana`s attorney released a statement to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT saying, quote, "Unfortunately, I really cannot discuss this matter with the press at this juncture."

So she seems to be playing the same game that Mel`s team is playing, also not denying there`s a tape. Janelle, are you thinking Oksana it using it as leverage to get what she wants from Mel, custody of their daughter, maybe a boatload of Benjamins?

JANELL SNOWDEN, HOST, VH1 NEWS: You think? Considering that his ex-wife is rumored to have gotten an enormous payday off of their divorce - I mean, Mel is worth, what, $900 million, upwards of that. I think it`s safe to say that might be some motivation.

I mean, she was an aspiring singer. It`s not like she was sitting on a huge amount of cash and she couldn`t stand to benefit from this. So I am inclined to believe that maybe there is a tape.

And if that`s the case, come on, Mel. I`m sure his reps are like, "You know what? We give up. I mean, at least, he`s an equal opportunity offender."

HAMMER: Well, this is the thing. I`m thinking if this tape does exist, this is not good news for Mel Gibson at all. I mean, think about how many years it has taken Mel to recover from his last racial rant.

Quite frankly, I don`t think he has fully recovered. There are a lot of people who have never and will never forgive him. So Jim, again, if this tape is out there and it`s made public, this really could be it for him. I feel like I`ve said that before, but this really could be it.

MORET: Well, I think you`re right in saying that many people have never forgiven or gotten over the last rant. This is a different rant, equally offensive, offending a different group. You know, I think that we`re seeing a different side of this carefully managed personality who was beloved for so many years.

And we`re seeing a fairly ugly side, one that we hope isn`t true. But again, this non-denial makes me think that there`s something there.

HAMMER: Yes. And it just seems like things have continued to deteriorate as opposed to get better as he has tried to get past his past indiscretions. Well, Mel and Oksana are not the only ex-couple who are duking it out in public. Oh, no. There`s big news today about the remarkable Jake and Vienna "Bachelor" breakup.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

PAVELKA: I`m so disgusted with you.

GIRARDI: You`re a liar is what you are.

HAMMER (voice-over): All of America is reeling today over the explosive confrontation between Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi who first hooked up on the ABC reality show, "The Bachelor," and are now fighting a bitter breakup war in the tabloids.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Jake and Vienna have broken up.

HAMMER: Last night, they met on a "bachelor" reunion special for the first time since their breakup. To say things got nasty - oh, that could be the understatement of the year.

PAVELKA: Why are you raising your voice?

GIRARDI: Because are you the biggest fake liar that I`ve ever met in my entire life.

JO PIAZZA, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST: I have never personally seen two people, not even Jon and Kate Gosselin, get this nasty with each other.

HAMMER: Yes. Jake and Vienna made Jon and Kate look like Romeo and Juliet. And they bitterly battled over the same issues that haunt the average couple. Things like a lack of intimacy.

GIRARDI: I don`t think any woman would stay if a relationship with a guy who she has to ask to be kissed.

HAMMER: Infidelity.

PAVELKA: You`re busy having flings with other men.

GIRARDI: I`m not having flings with other men.

HAMMER: And fame whoring?

GIRARDI: You`re a fame whore is what you are.

PAVELKA: I`m a fame whore? I didn`t sell the story. You did.

PIAZZA: Vienna calling Jake a fame whore is essentially like the pot calling the kettle a fame whore. Let`s be honest. Both of these people want to be famous.

PAVELKA: Will you marry me?

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that from the moment that Jake and Vienna first got together on "The Bachelor" last March, no one expected a happily ever after.

PIAZZA: His choice was totally controversial. Instead of going for the nice girl, he went for the kind of wild and crazy girl. You don`t propose to the hot, crazy girl.

HAMMER: So no one was surprised, three months later when they announced they were done, cooked, finished. What was surprising was the remarkable, very public war that followed. Vienna fired first, telling her story to "Star" magazine. Jake responded by talking with "People."

PIAZZA: One of the most explosive things that Vienna said was that he didn`t perform his boyfriend-ly duties. He was never interested in her. He didn`t want to kiss her and he wasn`t affectionate toward her. And Jake accused Vienna of cheating.

HAMMER: Last night Vienna defended herself against Jake`s cheating claim.

PAVELKA: So wait, Vienna, there was no - no infidelity?

GIRARDI: No.

PAVELKA: No cheating?

GIRARDI: No, not at all.

HAMMER: And Jake explained why he`d stopped getting physical with Vienna.

PAVELKA: What guy in America would ever want to be intimate with a woman that undermines him?

HAMMER: As far as selling her breakup story to the tabloids, Vienna isn`t denying it. But she says it was a preemptive strike.

GIRARDI: I know Jake. And I knew as soon as we broke up, he was going to run so a media outlet and tell his side of the story.

PIAZZA: It was, yes, I acted crappy but he was going to act crappier so I had to usurp his early crappiness.

HAMMER: That`s when things really exploded.

GIRARDI: I knew you, the real you. And I knew you would do it if I did it.

PAVELKA: You don`t know me and I wouldn`t have done it. And if you -

GIRARDI: If I don`t know you -

PAVELKA: Please stop interrupting me! The thing is -

GIRARDI: I`m done with this. You are the meanest person I have ever met in my life. I`m over it.

PIAZZA: There was just such nastiness on both sides. He was mean. She was mean. They were both despicable. They just made me hate them both so much more.

HAMMER: So what began as a love story seems to be ending as a hate story, which frankly makes for great TV.

PAVELKA: Baby -

GIRARDI: How did we break up? Don`t call me baby.

PAVELKA: Be quiet while I`m talking.

GIRARDI: This is how he treats me all the time.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: Yes. Great TV indeed. No chance they`re stepping up the drama for the cameras there. But seriously, Janell, it`s hard for me to believe these two were ever planning on getting married. Don`t you think they should be ashamed of themselves?

SNOWDEN: Come on. I`m ashamed of myself for watching this madness. I mean, who does he think he is? Like, if you saw how many times he said, "Don`t interrupt me," like, who died and made him king?

I wanted to reach through the screen and smack him for her. Now, I don`t advocate violence in a relationship, but he`s such a jerk.

HAMMER: Yes.

SNOWDEN: And she - I mean, come on. Why would you deal with a guy like that?

HAMMER: Jim Moret - you know, he is at the courthouse right now and he`s concurring with you. Let me go to Brooke Anderson. Now, Brooke Anderson, enormous "Bachelor" fan. Team Jake, team Vienna - which is it, Brooke?

ANDERSON: I`ve got to say team Vienna after that special. She came off as pretty sympathetic. And she defended herself against the cheating allegations. She had specific examples about Jake`s behavior that he had no explanations for.

She said he had anger management issues, and then what does he do? He blows up on her. He screams at her. So he looked bad. He didn`t do himself any favors. But I have to say, A.J., the most unforgettable piece of "Bachelor" programming ever, and I`ve watched a ton of it.

HAMMER: Well, listen, I can`t blame them for trying to cash in on their 15 minutes of fame. We have to end it there. Jim Moret, Janell Snowden, thanks, guys.

ANDERSON: All right. Moving to this, Jessica Simpson a single lady no more? There are juicy, new details about Jessica`s love life. Is she really dating another football star?

Sorry, Jess, but we all know what happened the last time you tried that. Is Jess setting herself up for more heartache, more failure?

Kate Gosselin`s plastic surgery confession. Kate sets the record straight once and for all about what she had plucked and pulled and what`s real.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

K. GOSSELIN: I`ve had a tummy tuck. We all know that. I feel like -

BEHAR: How about boobs? Are those yours?

HASSELBECK: How did they get perky?

K. GOSSELIN: Why is it so fascinating?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Brand-new Britney Spears revelations today. Britney says she may have to lock up her kids until they`re 30. But why? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

HAMMER: Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: George Michael arrested for a seventh time following mystery car crash in London. Enrique Iglesias` new bilingual CD "Euphoria" drops today.

(MUSIC)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Jessica Simpson`s reportedly got a new man. It`s been about a year since she and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo parted ways. You`d think she`s learned her lesson, but no.

We learned today she`s dating another big football star. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with the brand new details on Jessica`s new man. And the big question today - is she setting herself up for failure?

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.

We will have more on Jessica`s new boyfriend in just a moment. But Brooke, there is also big news we`ve got to talk about today about what Kate Gosselin is saying about all those reports that she`s had plastic surgery.

ANDERSON: A.J., Kate is speaking out in a brand-new plastic surgery confession today, striking back against endless reports speculating that Kate`s had everything done from Botox to breast implants.

In a brand-new interview, Kate finally answers the question that everybody wants to know - has she gone under the knife?

Right now, in New York, is Noelle Nikpour who is a columnist for "South Florida Sun Sentinel." Also, right now, in New York is Ben Widdicombe who is a celebrity journalist.

Noelle, Ben, we know Kate has been hounded by reports about plastic surgery. So when Kate co-hosted "The View," she wanted to clear up all the speculation once and for all. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

K. GOSSELIN: I`ve had a tummy tuck. We all know that.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: OK.

K. GOSSELIN: I feel like -

BEHAR: How about boobs? Those are yours?

HASSELBECK: How did they get perky?

K. GOSSELIN: Why is it so fascinating? Botox, absolutely not. Boobs, no. Tummy tuck, yes. We all know that. I run every day. I work out. I`m healthy. I want to look as good as I can look -

HASSELBECK: Good.

K. GOSSELIN: Because when you look good, you feel good.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Noelle, she admits to having a tummy tuck, but denies Botox or breast implants. I don`t think there`s any reason that we shouldn`t believe her. But do you?

NOELLE NIKPOUR, COLUMNIST, "SOUTH FLORIDA SUN SENTINEL": Yes. I mean, don`t hate on Kate. I mean, think about this. She goes on national TV and says exactly what procedures she`s had.

And look, they ask her if she had a boob job. She said no. I mean, look what wonders a good bra can do. She leads a healthy lifestyle. She`s running. She`s working out. She`s doing her thing.

And I think that a girl can look good. And plus, why would she lie about the other procedures when she already admitted that one big one? She had eight kids.

ANDERSON: Yes. She was so open about the tummy tuck, like went through the whole thing on the reality show.

NIKPOUR: Yes. Yes.

ANDERSON: And she looks great, my goodness.

NIKPOUR: Yes.

ANDERSON: For having eight children -

NIKPOUR: Yes.

ANDERSON: At home. She talked about having a strict fitness routine. Ben, should she just look at all this plastic speculation as a compliment?

BEN WIDDICOMBE, CELEBRITY JOURNALIST: Look, I think that Kate does look great. There`s no question about that. But there are some things that you just assume a person has a right to lie about.

For a man, it`s whether they`ve had any kind of a hair treatment. For a woman, it`s her age and whether she`s had any kind of plastic surgery. I`m sorry. I don`t believe she`s only had a tummy tuck. And even that she only admits to because it`s been on television.

She always talking about how she`s a working mother and she doesn`t have time. You know, she`s raising eight kids. How does any kind of working parent manage to work out so much that they look that good while holding down a job? I don`t believe it.

ANDERSON: Noelle, you said don`t hate on Kate. Sorry, Ben just did it. OK. I`ve got to move to big news just in today about Jessica Simpson and her new boyfriend. We learned today that Jessica reportedly has been dating former NFL star Eric Johnson. He`s also reportedly separated from his wife.

Now, we hear he`s a decent guy, but here`s the thing. We all saw how her relationship ended with her last football flame, Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo. So Noelle, is Jessica setting herself up for heartbreak again by dipping into the NFL pool?

NIKPOUR: Well, look, she was introduced to this guy by friends. So they obviously know her type. And every girl has got a certain kind of guy that they like to date. So she is obviously wanting this type of a guy.

Is she setting herself up? I think she`s jumping back into a relationship once again. She needs about a year or so where there are no guys. And she can get to know herself to really feel like, you know, when she gets into another relationship, she can be ready this time.

I think she`s jumped. And she`s jumped for the same type, this athletic type of guy, once again.

ANDERSON: Yes. She likes them athletic. And she likes them hot.

NIKPOUR: Yes.

ANDERSON: We know that. And I just wish her the best. OK. I`ve got to move on now to more big news just in today about Britney Spears. Britney is banning her kids from show business. A.J., what`s that about?

HAMMER: Well, Brooke, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT obtained today the advance copy of Britney on the cover of "Cosmo" magazine. You`ve got to see the startling revelation that she makes about her two sons and show business.

This is what Britney is saying, "If my sons, Sean and Jayden, told me they wanted to be in the entertainment business, I`d lock them in their rooms until they turned 30."

Noelle, look at what Britney`s been through in her life. I mean I can`t blame her at all for thinking like that, can you?

NIKPOUR: Oh, come. On I mean, A.J., which is worse - being locked in a room with Britney Spears or being a childhood celebrity? I`m going to go with childhood celebrity. I mean, come on. She`s unrealistic.

ANDERSON: And you know, I just want to say this - Britney has said in the past that her fame has, at times, been too much. So Ben, does this just show that Britney doesn`t want her kids to get famous and end up breaking down like she did?

WIDDICOMBE: Well, it seems like Britney might have learned a few lessons. I say hats off to her. I interpreted her comments as a veiled swipe at her own parenting. You know, she`s had a very up-and-down relationship with both her father and her mother.

I think that`s what she`s talking about when she talks like this. And you know, I say good for her to recognize that, you know, her children need to be protected from the business.

ANDERSON: Noelle Nikpour, Ben Widdicombe, thank you both. Good to you. Sorry, Noelle. We`ll continue this conversation some other time.

NIKPOUR: OK.

HAMMER: Well, on to another child star who hopefully won`t go down the wrong path - Miley Cyrus. She`s ready to move on. Bye-bye, Hannah Montana. Hello, "all grown up and ready to spread my wings and fly" superstar.

Miley`s responding to the critics who refuse to let her grow up. And you will see it in the brand-new Miley interview you`ll see only on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CYRUS: I always have people in my life who keep negative energy out and bring positive energy in. When there`s a good article, I read those. And when there`s not, they throw them away.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Mom-to-be Alicia Keys is fine, doing well after falling at Essence Music Festival. Chris Rock, Adam Sandler plan to produce movie about Richard Pryor`s life.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Now the "SHOWBIZ Buzz List." Here`s what the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT staff just can`t stop buzzing about. We all can`t wait to the new sci-fi movie, "Inception." This one looks really good.

Also, the new book called "Drive." The surprising truth about what really motivates us. Drake`s hot selling new CD "Thank Me Later" is really cool.

The queen of England`s royal visit to New York City. It has been some 30 years since she last took a bite out of the Big Apple. And the new way we are eating, thanks to "TastingTable.com." This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER (on camera): It`s so good to have you here. Welcome to the program.

CYRUS: Thank you very much.

HAMMER: You seem very excited, Miley.

CYRUS: I am.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Check out 13-year-old Miley Cyrus there. Back then, of course, she was simply known as Billy Ray Cyrus` daughter. Today, of course, she is one of the biggest stars on the planet.

Miley kicked off her enormous career as Hannah Montana right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Today, Miley comes to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT once again to reveal how she is ready to say bye-bye to Hannah Montana.

And Brooke, definitely, it was a huge day for young Miley Cyrus. That was her very first TV interview ever. So for me, it`s been really cool watching her meteoric rise and, of course, all the success that she`s had with Hannah Montana.

But now it is time for Miley to move on and she is ready to leave Hannah Montana behind. The countdown is now on to Miley`s last big show, "Hannah Montana Forever," all set to air this Sunday on the Disney Channel. The Hannah Montana series may be wrapping up, but of course, Brooke, not Miley`s incredible career.

ANDERSON: You know, A.J., yes. Miley`s Disney days made her a superstar and made her super rich. And it`s been interesting watching Miley try to move past Hannah Montana. Miley continues to get a lot of heat for some of her, some say, controversial career choices. Miley just revealed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that she is definitely ready to take her career into a new direction.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

CYRUS: It`s hard sometimes, you know, closing a chapter on Hannah Montana and opening up a new chapter on something else. That`s kind of weird, like, closing something that`s been so amazing for my younger audience and now, opening up a chapter, something that`s been so great for my older audience.

So you`ve got to do it for yourself and do music that you love and not really worry about anything else and not worry about who`s going to follow or who`s going to listen.

There`s no way to say, like, "I know 100 percent this is going to be the right step for." I don`t know. It`s just you`ve got to make sure the things that are right for you right then.

And you know, you may look back when (UNINTELLIGIBLE) and go, "Oh, my god. Why did I do that?" But it was right for you then, so you`ve got to do what is right for you at that moment.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. And let`s remember, she is 17 now. Now, I think Miley is looking at an incredible career. She`s lucky to have a family right there by her side every step of the way helping her to not only shape the career, but really keeping Miley out of trouble unlike, of course, some other child stars we know all too well.

You`ve got to check out what Miley`s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, just revealed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. He says he will always be there for Miley.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BILLY RAY CYRUS, COUNTRY MUSIC SUPERSTAR: You know, I`m always there, as a friend, a daddy, counsel, if you will. My door is always open to all my kids, including Miley, you know. A lot of times, you know, we`re going through the same things together. So we just try to figure it out, you know?

If Miley comes and wants advice on something, I`ll give her my best, most honest answer, but even that`s not necessarily right. It`s just maybe how I feel, you know. Because I`m sure not perfect.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Miley is just getting more and more and more famous. Stay grounded, girl.

HAMMER: Well, that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thank you for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is now live at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Monday through Friday.

HAMMER: And we are still TV`s most provocative entertainment news show seven days a week at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific, and that is right here on HLN.
