A.J. HAMMER, CO-HOST: Big news breaking today on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - Mad Max versus James Bond? An explosive new tape revealed today. Is that really Mel Gibson raging at Bond? James Bond?

Leo versus Angelina. Their fierce new battle today. Our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - is Leonardo DiCaprio bigger than Angelina Jolie?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

NICOLE "SNOOKI" POLIZZI, REALITY TV STAR, "JERSEY SHORE": I just thought (EXPLETIVE DELETED) that I don`t even care about.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT reveals the Snooki/"Jersey Shore"/"New York Times"/New Jersey governor smackdown.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show starts right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

BROOKE ANDERSON: Hello, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking news today - Mad Max versus James Bond.

HAMMER: And no, that is not the name of a Mel Gibson movie sequel, but it is the name of a tape sequel. Because today, "Radar Online" released the latest installment of the Mel/Oksana drama.

And today`s feature presentation has a purported Mel Gibson throwing a phone tantrum over former James Bond star Timothy Dalton. So why would Mel get shaken and stirred? Well, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has the Mad Max/James Bond connection.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE (allegedly Mel Gibson): (EXPLETIVE DELETED). You (EXPLETIVE DELETED) ingrate.

(voice-over): At first listen, the new batch of recordings posted today on "Radar Online" sound a lot like the previous six. We hear someone that sounds a lot like Mel Gibson hurling some new offensive vitriol at his ex- girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE (allegedly Mel Gibson): And remember whose (EXPLETIVE DELETED) roof you`re under! You ingrate (EXPLETIVE DELETED)!

HAMMER: But in these new recordings, Oksana isn`t the only one under attack. We hear Mel apparently aim his profane rants at a strange new target.

TIMOTHY DALTON, ACTOR: Bond, James Bond.

HAMMER: Yes, that`s right. In rant number seven, Gibson takes on 007. Former Bonds star Timothy Dalton is also Oksana`s ex and the father of her 12-year-old son.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE (allegedly Mel Gibson): Did you get my last message about me being a bad father and (NAME DELETED) being a great dad now?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE (allegedly Oksana Grigorieva): No, I didn`t.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE (allegedly Mel Gibson): You didn`t hear that one? Well, you should go and (EXPLETIVE DELETED) him.

HAMMER: It`s the battle of the action movie icons - Mad Max versus James Bond. Now, that`s a cage match SHOWBIZ TONIGHT would love to see.

JO PIAZZA, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST: It`s almost as if Mel Gibson was sitting home thinking, "Who haven`t I attacked in Hollywood yet? I know. I`ll take on James Bond."

HAMMER: In the rant released today, the man believed to be Gibson even references Dalton`s 12-year-old son with Oksana.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE (allegedly Mel Gibson): So you can get it on with anybody else and your son can watch it. What is it? Number 45 he`s going to have to look at. (EXPLETIVE DELETED) good.

PIAZZA: At this point, it just feels like Mel is pulling at strings to try to find something new to be outraged about. It`s like he`s in love with being pissed off.

HAMMER: As we see in this brand new video posted today on Hollywood.TV -

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: How do you feel about the whole situation with Mel Gibson?

TIMOTHY DALTON, ACTOR: No comment.

HAMMER: Dalton was in no mood to talk about the whole Gibson mess when the paparazzi pressed him about it in L.A. over the weekend.

DALTON: Didn`t I say no comment? No comment means no comment. Thank you.

HAMMER: Guys, you may want to back off. You know, the whole license to kill thing?

PIAZZA: Dalton has been a shoulder for Oksana to cry on.

HAMMER: Entertainment journalist Jo Piazza tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Dalton has reportedly been playing a silent but critical behind-the-scenes role in the whole Mel versus Oksana saga.

PIAZZA: Emotionally supporting her through this whole thing, visiting her at home and visiting his son. I never thought that James Bond would be a terrific ex-boyfriend. I thought he would be kind of a louse.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE (allegedly Mel Gibson): You (EXPLETIVE DELETED) me! You (EXPLETIVE DELETED) ingrate!

HAMMER: The alleged Gibson rants have spawned a growing mystery that even James Bond himself would have trouble cracking. Who leaked the recordings which a court had ordered sealed to "Radar Online"? A Hollywood reporter says Oksana`s sister is being investigated as a possible source of the leak.

NATALIE GRIGORIEVA, OKSANA GRIGORIEVA`S SISTER: She doesn`t have them. She erased them a long time ago.

HAMMER: But in this brand-new video on "Radar Online" today, Oksana denies her sister leaked the tape. And she angrily denied reports that Gibson has text messages proving she tried to extort money from him in exchange for the tapes.

OKSANA GRIGORIEVA, MEL GIBSON`S EX-GIRLFRIEND: He`s lying. There`s no extortion and there`s no text and no E-mails. He`s lying.

PIAZZA: It feels like everyone in this situation is being investigated for something. Oksana is being investigated for extortion charges. Mel is being investigated for possible abuse.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE (allegedly Mel Gibson): You should go and (EXPLETIVE DELETED) him!

HAMMER: But if that is Mel going after the former 007, he`s added a fascinating new element to this epic Hollywood battle.

PIAZZA: I`m curious which Hollywood producer is going to find a way to actually pit them against each other on screen.

Maybe Mel can take on Bond in another "Lethal Weapon" movie, one that includes a moral tailor-made for Mel.

PIAZZA: Stop making nasty phone calls to your ex-girlfriend. I mean, Mel Gibson, I`m sorry, but you`re a little too old for this.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: Just when I thought there wouldn`t be any more surprises in this saga, and the story is getting wilder and wackier each day. Also, I can`t believe whose side so many people are taking in what has turned into an epic battle between Mel Gibson and his ex, Oksana Grigorieva.

Right now, from Philadelphia, my good friend, Danny Bonaduce. Danny is a radio show host for 94.1 WYSP in Philadelphia. Always good to see you, Danny.

DANNY BONADUCE, RADIO HOST, 94.1 WYSP: Nice to see you back.

HAMMER: I`ve got to say I am completely amazed by these results of our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll. They just came in moments ago. And here`s what we asked - "Mel Gibson`s Mess: Whose side are you on?"

Look at how this went - a whopping 62 percent say they are on team Mel. That means only 38 percent say team Oksana.

Now, regardless of why she did what she did, his words are vile. They are disgusting. They`re threatening. And she is the one clearly being attacked in these calls. So Danny, why do you think Oksana isn`t getting as much support as Mel Gibson here?

BONADUCE: Because people aren`t looking at the entire picture. People are looking at the extortionist gold digger that everybody imagines is out stalking Mel Gibson, and very possibly, they are.

When you`re a celebrity of that stature, you definitely have a target on your back, and there are women in California - what do we call them, oh, women in California.

HAMMER: Yes.

BONADUCE: That will absolutely target you and extort you so people are looking at that. What they are not looking at is the fact that he used racial slurs that you cannot excuse.

And if, in fact, he raised his hand to a woman, you cannot excuse that. So they are looking at who did what - the mean phone calls or being a gold digger? Well, then, she`s a gold digger.

But he used words you can never forgive, you can`t even use in the privacy of your own home. And if you did, you shouldn`t, so he can never, in my book, be forgiven which is a drag because aside from those parts, the tapes are hysterically funny.

HAMMER: Well, yes. You know, it`s funny because every time you listen at them over and over - and I hear a lot of people, you`re laughing at them. But you know, when you break it down and step back, wait a second. The things being said here, again, vile, threatening and disgusting. I`m with you. People need to look at the big picture.

I want to get back to the tape that was released today by "Radar Online." This man who sounds like Mel heard talking trash about Oksana`s ex, former James Bond star Timothy Dalton. It`s just where this thing is going. Also, how the man on the tape feels about having had a baby with Oksana. Let`s roll that out.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE (allegedly Mel Gibson): You should go and (EXPLETIVE DELETED), you know, because I don`t care. You offend me on every (EXPLETIVE DELETED) level. You offend me on every (EXPLETIVE DELETED) level.

I despise you. I don`t want you back. The game`s over, OK? The game`s over. Let the new games begin. So you can get it on with anybody else and your son can watch. What is it, number 45 he`s going to have to look at? (EXPLETIVE DELETED) good. So (EXPLETIVE DELETED) sorry I had a child with you.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. I mean, Danny, I`m with you. I listened to that and I`m thinking it just sounds so unreal, but it`s incredible to me one day, Mel and Oksana`s child, Lucia, is inevitably going to hear these tapes. She will inevitably read about all this.

If I got you on the phone with Mel right now, and I`m talking from one father to another, what do you say to the guy?

BONADUCE: Well, I`d say, first of all, that I - like I said, can I never give him - forgive him for the words that he used, and you can`t raise a hand to a woman. But if you were to exclude that, I`ve got to say he`s probably right.

I`ve done my research on this woman, and she`s been road hard and put away wet. She`s been around the block. These are not her first two movie stars. She picks very selectively.

And if we`re going to do the Mad Max against James Bond, I`ll tell you Dalton will get his ass kicked because Mel Gibson is a real live lunatic.

HAMMER: Yes.

BONADUCE: James Bond can be shaken and stirred all he wants. Mel is going to knock him out because he`s a real live crazy man.

HAMMER: Yes. I wonder if we`ll ever see that cage match. All right. Well, while Mel deals with his mess, of course, we have Lindsay Lohan sitting in jail for yet another day today. She hasn`t been getting a lot of public support.

But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT about to break news because Lindsay Lohan is getting surprising support today from some big stars who actually need her. We`re back in just 30 seconds.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: From the big house to the big screen, Lindsay Lohan`s next big movie role is in the new movie, "Machete." That`s where she`s going to play a gun-toting nun. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was right there at the Comic-Con convention with Lindsay`s co-stars and even her director, Robert Rodriguez, rallied around her with support. Watch what they told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ROBERT RODRIGUEZ, DIRECTOR: She`s doing great. She`s a very strong girl. She`s - people like to think they can shake her up but you really can`t. She`s very resilient.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Is she easy to work with?

RODRIGUEZ: She`s easy to work with. Oh, yes.

DANNY TREJO, ACTOR: Lindsay is awesome. She`s great. She`s absolutely professional on the screen, like - I mean, on the set, like everybody else was. She was great to work with. I talked to her. I`ve known her for a long time. She will be all right.

MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ, ACTRESS: Yes. Everybody`s got their path and their life to live, so I just respect that.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Something we haven`t been hearing a whole lot of, some positive thoughts and positive feedback from people who worked with Lindsay in the past and who are working right there with her on the movie.

Danny, as somebody who has been through rehab many times, and you seem to be doing OK to me -

BONADUCE: Thanks.

HAMMER: Do you think rehab is going to work for Lindsay?

BONADUCE: Well, no. And I think it`s so funny that one of her co-stars points out, you know, everybody has a past. Lindsay doesn`t have a past yet. She`s currently in jail.

HAMMER: Yes.

BONADUCE: You have to get out of jail and stop taking drugs and drinking before you look back fondly at your misspent youth.

She`s sitting in a prison cell, and as Rodriguez, who is a great director is saying, she`s doing really well. Only her family is allowed to visit. How does Rodriguez know how she`s doing?

Everybody wants to rally around the Lindsay camp right now except the other prisoners which irritates me like crazy.

HAMMER: Yes.

BONADUCE: They say Lindsay is getting special treatment. By definition, all prisoners in America are getting preferential treatment. I don`t know - I think for - you have a roof over your head and three meals a day. So do I.

We have to work for it. All these guys have to do is fail at a doughnut shop robbery and you get housed and get food. A guy, I believe, in New York got a liver transplant after stabbing his wife to death. He becomes a prisoner.

HAMMER: It`s madness. It`s chaos, Danny. I`ve got to end it there, but thank you. It`s always great to see you. Danny Bonaduce, thanks.

BONADUCE: It`s my pleasure.

ANDERSON: All right. Sarah Ferguson going to work for Oprah today? The bombshell that Oprah Winfrey may hire the Duchess of York. Yes, we`re revealing what Oprah has in mind for Fergie.

Kim`s plastic plea today. Kim Kardashian`s emotional plea to a fan who wants head-to-toe plastic surgery to become a Kardashian clone so her husband won`t leave her. Yes. Nobody should have to do that.

They are hot. They`re really successful, and today, I can tell you they are going at it - Leo, Angelina. Our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - is Leonardo DiCaprio bigger than Angelina Jolie? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

HAMMER: Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Ben Affleck`s brother, Casey, accused of sexual harassment. "Glee" says the cast will do six songs for Britney Spears episode. "Glee" will also do a "Rocky Horror Picture Show" episode.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: On the ground!

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: No.

ANGELINA JOLIE, ACTRESS: I said no.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: On the ground!

JOLIE: I have to find my husband, please.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Stay back.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Last chance.

JOLIE: Somebody is setting me up.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Don`t make me put you down.

JOLIE: No! On the ground. Down on the ground now.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Let`s work this out. I promise.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: I`ve got to bring you in. It`s over. Face down.

JOLIE: Somebody is going to try to kill the Russian president. You know that. Do something about that.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Angelina Jolie versus Leonardo DiCaprio. Big news today that Angelina`s new movie, "Salt," finished in second place for its opening weekend behind Leo`s "Inception." So is Leo now bigger than Angelina?

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.

So Brooke, what makes this so fascinating is Leonardo DiCaprio`s move "Inception" beat Jolie`s "Salt" even though Leo`s movie was already in its second week out.

ANDERSON: Not to take anything away from Angelina, A.J. "Salt" did take in a solid $36 million. But what does it say that her movie came in second? That leads us to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - is Leonardo DiCaprio bigger than Angelina Jolie?

Right now from Hollywood is Hyla who is an entertainment journalist with "5DollarPrep.com." Hyla, to the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - I`ll get right to it. Is Leo bigger than Angelina Jolie?

HYLA, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST, "5DOLLARPREP.COM": Well, it depends in what respect. I think as a movie star, Leo is definitely a bigger movie star, Angelina a bigger pop culture icon.

But if I want someone to open up a movie and bring in a lot of money, I`m going to turn to Leo because what Angelina does - she overshadows the film.

Case in point, this weekend at Comic-Con, right? She was there, promoting "Salt." She hits the stage, and then the headline on "The Huffington Post" is Angelina walks on stage in a tight mini skirt. It`s always about her fashion. It`s about Brad. It`s about the kids. It`s never about the film.

ANDERSON: So you say people are more interested in maybe their personal life than they are in any movie that Brad or Angelina is starring in.

HYLA: No. Absolutely, 100 percent. Leo is a huge celebrity in his own right but he never overshadows the film. No one is talking about Leo and Bar hanging out.

ANDERSON: His personal life is very personal, and "Inception" has gotten more positive reviews than "Salt."

HYLA: Yes.

ANDERSON: "Salt" could eventually overtake, but it might be tough. All right. I want to move now to this, Hyla. Big news now about a star revealing today she`s coming out of retirement.

Yes, former Nickelodeon child star Amanda Bynes announced a month ago that she was retiring at ripe old age of 24. Well, Amanda has had a change of heart and just tweeted, "I`ve un-retired."

Hyla, Amanda also tweeted a link to the trailer of her next movie coming out in September. So I`m kind of smelling a big old publicity stunt here. Are we being played?

HYLA: This is what happens when you don`t have a publicist in control of what`s going on and you`re just hanging out on Twitter on a Friday night. And you`re like, "Oh, maybe I`ll just retire today."

I heard that, actually, the movie, the role that she`s playing is really good. The film is supposed to be really good. I`ve heard some good things about it. So yes, this is smart on her part.

ANDERSON: You know, the movie, "Easy A" out in September. Look at that. We just talked about the movie when it`s -funny, interesting, how that happens.

HYLA: Maybe she`s smarter than we give her credit for.

ANDERSON: Maybe she is. All right. Hyla, good to see you. Thanks.

HAMMER: So what`s this? New Jersey`s own governor slamming Snooki today? What? New Jersey`s gov dissing "Jersey Shore" - could this be? Even the "New York Times" smacking down Snooki. Where is the love, I ask?

Casting Anna Nicole Smith. A controversial new show revealed about the late Anna. Could this be one of the sickest show ideas ever?

And under attack from pigeon poop? Actually, this story is really funny and it`s really gross at the same time. The big band forced to cancel a concert because pigeons kept dropping poop on them. Bombs away. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Time now to roll out the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Reality star accused in celebrity "bling ring" thefts is out of jail. Katy Perry`s alternate art for her new album - her fiance Russell Brand!

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED ACTRESS: You haven`t asked me anything about myself.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Oh, sorry. So what do your parents do?

UNIDENTIFIED ACTRESS: That`s better. My dad is an accountant and my mom is the former governor of Alaska.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: This episode of "Family Guy" really got Sarah Palin mad. Now, it featured a character with Down syndrome making fun of Sarah Palin who has a son with the disorder. Today, I can tell you Down syndrome girl will be back probably to slam Palin again.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was right there as Comic-Con festival in San Diego where "Family Guy" creator Seth McFarland revealed big news about his show. And I can tell you today Sarah Palin probably is not going to like this one bit.

"Family Guy" ripped Palin whose son Trigg has down`s syndrome when a character with down syndrome said Palin was her mom.

Well, when the episode aired, Palin said it was cruel and cold-hearted. I can tell you that McFarland plans to bring back the Down syndrome girl character. Ellen is actually voiced by a woman with Down syndrome. She thinks Palin needs to lighten up.

ANDERSON: A.J., there were so many stars at Comic-Con this year. I want to share with you now a look at all the big celebrities who were there, talking to our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT iReport crew.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hi, CNN.

Kim`s plastic plea today. Kim Kardashian`s emotional plea to a fan who wants head-to-toe plastic surgery to become a Kardashian clone so her husband won`t leave her.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news in "The Buzz" today. Barack Obama is joining the ladies of "The View" for what is expected to be an explosive provocative guest appearance.

The cast of "Jersey Shore" get a major smackdown today from the governor of New Jersey of all people.

And Kim Kardashian makes a drastic anti-plastic surgery plea to a desperate woman. It`s all making news in "The Buzz" today.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over): Kim`s desperate plea. Kim Kardashian has just reached out to a fan who plans to have radical plastic surgery that would turn her into a Kim Kardashian clone.

The fan wrote on Kim`s Twitter page, "I`m getting head-to-toe plastic surgery next week to look like Kim Kardashian so my husband won`t leave me. He worships her."

Kim tweeted back, "Please don`t. Your husband should love you for who you are. Don`t try to be someone else. I`m sure you are beautiful inside and out."

A presidential view. We`ve just learned that President Obama will appear on "The View" this Thursday. That would be the first time a sitting president will appear on a daytime talk show, and right there will be Barbara Walters back to "The View" set for the first time since her heart surgery in May.

"Jersey Shore"/Jersey governor smackdown. Just days before the premiere of the second season of "Jersey Shore," New Jersey`s governor says he`s got a situation. He tells ABC`s "This Week" he`s feeling snookered by Snooki and the rest of the cast, most of whom don`t even live Jersey.

GOV. CHRIS CHRISTIE (R-NJ): There`s a bunch of New Yorkers dropped at the Jersey Shore and tries to make America feel like this is New Jersey.

ANDERSON: The governor has nothing to worry about in season two because "Jersey Shore" this time around is set in Miami.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: And we`re getting to all the buzz beginning with "Jersey Shore." Is it war now between Snooki and New Jersey`s governor?

With me right now from Philadelphia, the one and only Danny Bonaduce, who is a radio talk show host on 94.1 WYSP in Philadelphia. And with me in New York, Cooper Lawrence, who is a syndicated talk show host and author of the book "Cult of Celebrity."

Danny, I`ve got to tell you something. My opinion of the whole "Jersey Shore," gang, not all that high. But I actually didn`t think it would ever come down to ticking off the governor of New Jersey. What about you?

BONADUCE: Well, I just think the governor of New Jersey is not doing her state any justice. Of course, there are people like the cast of "Jersey Shore" in New Jersey. And "Time" magazine voted Camden, New Jersey the worst city in America about 20 years ago.

But let`s not forget about Egg Harbor. Let`s not forget about Cape May - beautiful city. And by the way a weird statistical fact that I happen to know -

HAMMER: Yes.

BONADUCE: New Jersey hosts more scientists and engineers per square mile than any other state in the union, as well as the highest property tax in America.

(CROSS TALK)

HAMMER: I think so. Danny Bonaduce should be the poster child for New Jersey.

COOPER LAWRENCE, SYNDICATED RADIO HOST AND AUTHOR: He gets my vote.

HAMMER: And here`s what cracks me up about the whole thing - I`m still laughing about this - the fact that the governor of New Jersey was even asked about Snooki and her gang. Now, this was during an intense interview. It was a hard-hitting interview on ABC`s "This Week." The gov was asked about New Jersey`s budget, the mid-term elections, health care reform and then Snooki and the gang from "Jersey Shore" who are mostly from New York, as he points out. Watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE ANCHOR: The "New York times" today has this profile of Snooki from "Jersey Shore." MTV`s "Jersey Shore," positive for New Jersey or negative?

CHRISTIE: Negative for New Jersey. I mean, because what it does is take a bunch of New Yorkers, who - most of the people on "Jersey Shore" are New Yorkers - takes a bunch of New Yorkers, drops them at the Jersey Shore and tries to make America feel like this is New Jersey.

I can tell people - they want to know what New Jersey really is? I welcome them to come to New Jersey any time. The Jersey Shore is a beautiful place. It`s a place. It`s a place everyone should come on vacation this summer.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: What do you think, Cooper Lawrence? Does the governor have every right to be ticked off at Snooki and The Situation and the whole gang from "Jersey Shore?"

LAWRENCE: I have to defend Ms. Snooki as a shorty myself. But he`s an idiot. I mean, his comment should have been no comment. Doesn`t he have a budge to balance? Doesn`t he have taxes to deal with? Why is he even commenting on it?

HAMMER: He should just laugh it off.

LAWRENCE: It`s ridiculous. And you know what? She`s very popular and she`s very likeable. And people actually have a positive view of Jersey finally for the first time because they love her. She`s beloved.

HAMMER: You need to go with bigger hair, Cooper Lawrence.

LAWRENCE: I was thinking, what do you think? (UNINTELLIGIBLE) the Snooki look.

(CROSS TALK)

HAMMER: You`re speaking in the - take a look at Snooki on the cover of yesterday`s "Sunday Style" section of the "New York Times." Now, I`ve seen it all. Yes. What an expose this was.

The reporter explains that one MTV exec describes Snooki as an icon. And that brings us to our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll today. Here`s what we`re asking. Look at this - "`Jersey Shore`: Will Snooki`s fame last beyond the show?" You can vote at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. Danny, I know, ordinarily, you`d go online to vote. But since you`re here, I`ll let you vote right now.

BONADUCE: No, I don`t think it will go on past the show. I don`t know if her fame will last through the end of this season. She`s an interesting car crash and that`s all there is to it.

Did you see the episode where she`s walking down the boardwalk lifting up the skirt inviting men to come down and they don`t? What kind of fame is that?

HAMMER: Yes.

BONADUCE: If you can`t get a drunk guy in Jersey to come say hi, you`re not doing that well. And by the way, I`d like to say to Cooper, I`m a big fan and I read your book which puts a whole book up on Snooki.

HAMMER: Yes. That`s exactly right. And I have to say, sadly, Danny, I did see that particular episode. But I do want to take a look at one big profound quote that Snooki gave the "New York Times" about her big hair. Brooke Anderson, do the honors of reading that, would you, in your best Snooki?

ANDERSON: Absolutely, A.J. Yes. Here is a Snooki pearl of wisdom, "The pouf is like a guidette thing, and usually on teen night, all the girls did it. Eventually my friends grew out of it and went to straight hair. Me, I like the pouf. I`m still going to rock it."

Cooper, let`s face it. Snooki does, indeed, rock the pouf, but does it make her an icon?

LAWRENCE: Oh, you`re so jealous, aren`t you? You wished you had that pouf.

ANDERSON: Yes, that`s it.

LAWRENCE: Well, I think we throw around words like "genius" and "icon" too much. No, she`s not an icon. But it`s an MTV executive who said it and he wants to sell the show. And he wants to make it seem like she is more than she is. And like Danny was saying, I mean, she couldn`t get guys to come down to the shore to be like, you know, "Hi, look under my skirt."

So he`s going to try calling her an icon so people feel like, "Oh, I must have been missing out on something if I`m not watching to the show."

BONADUCE: The governor - I can`t believe the governor even responded to any of this when they said she`s an icon and how do you feel about it? Doesn`t the governor have an entire staff to bail out of jail at the moment? The governor is busy in New Jersey.

LAWRENCE: Shiny keys. Shiny keys.

ANDERSON: So many things to think about. Yes. And that MTV exec is smart, trying to drum up publicity. Still, that "icon" label perplexes me.

All right. I`d like to move on now to another explosive story today, casting for the Anna Nicole Smith reality show. You heard right. TMZ reports today that the late Anna Nicole stylist is looking for an Anna Nicole look alike to model his new fashion line and wants to find that person through a reality show.

So who might make the ideal Anna Nicole? Here are a few ideas the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT staff tossed around today. Could it be Lindsay Lohan? She`s, unfortunately, certainly got the same sad lost look in her eyes. Maybe Tara Reid - she`s kind of got that train wreck quality about her. Or perhaps Tori Spelling - she`s, you know, got a certain Anna Nicole air about her. Danny, what do you say?

BONADUCE: I say if you want to go with type, you want a blond who is dumb as a stump, whose weight fluctuates a lot. I hear Jessica Simpson is not that busy.

ANDERSON: Oh -

BONADUCE: On the other hand, if you want to go genius, and I`m not kidding - this would just be brilliant - you get Jennifer Hudson. you get somebody who is brilliant, an actress who is voluptuous and wonderful.

I mean, Mel Gibson won`t watch but I still think it would be a brilliant way to go. Just completely - all they wanted to do is fit the gown. The gown is the star. Get an Academy Award winner in there and class the place up. Don`t make an icon out of a woman who OD`d and died right after giving birth to a child. Huge mistake.

ANDERSON: So your suggestion, throw J-Hud in a blond wig.

BONADUCE: No -

ANDERSON: I`m not so sure that will work.

BONADUCE: I absolutely play herself as the dress is the star. Class it up. Don`t -

ANDERSON: Got it.

BONADUCE: Don`t idolize another dumb blond. Get a beautiful, smart woman who is obviously against type, but you fit her in the gowns.

ANDERSON: Got it.

BONADUCE: The gowns are the star.

ANDERSON: OK. Well, Cooper, what do you think? Because to me, it seems a little bit disrespectful, perhaps outrageous to even create a reality show, to find a deceased woman`s look-alike?

LAWRENCE: No, I say go Joan Rivers or Betty White. I mean, it`s all about being over 70 these days. I`m so much more interested in seeing either one of them. At least they are funny and entertaining. It`s the year of the over 70.

BONADUCE: If you want to find -

ANDERSON: You can never go wrong with Betty White.

BONADUCE: That`s true.

ANDERSON: I just want to end it there. You can never go wrong with Betty White.

I`ve got to move now to another explosive story making big news today - Kim`s desperate plea. Shocking news today that a woman wants to get plastic surgery head to toe to look exactly like Kim Kardashian.

Danny, Cooper, don`t go anywhere. We`ll have Kim`s desperate plea. She`s begging this woman not to go through with surgery.

HAMMER: Oprah`s dramatic offer for Fergie. Stunning new report today - Oprah could actually soon make a dramatic new announcement. The incredible new Oprah offer Fergie might not be able to refuse.

So which Grammy winning band got taken down by a bunch of birds? They pooped all over them - I`m not kidding. And now, the band`s fans - they are crying foul.

Plus, Wyclef Jean for president. I couldn`t resist. Time for the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT truth squad to get busy on this. I said Wyclef for president. We`re revealing to you right here today that Wyclef`s presidential ambitions. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Naomi Campbell`s war crimes testimony postponed until August 5th. Justin Bieber handcuffed on set for new episode of "CSI."

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: The SHOWBIZ truth squad hard at work on this big story today. Is Wyclef Jean`s next project politics? Could Wyclef seriously be considering running for president of Haiti?

Just in to the showbiz truth squad, Wyclef has not announced any sort of presidential bid. There is a groundswell building online for Wyclef to throw his hat into the political ring.

Now, Wyclef says he`s definitely weighing his options and that he just can`t keep singing forever. He was born in Haiti and he is a tireless advocate for the impoverished country. Whatever he decides to do politically, I`m certain he`ll continue to honor his commitment to helping out Haiti.

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with A.J. Hammer in New York. And there is big Kim Kardashian news just in today.

HAMMER: That`s right, Brooke. Kim Kardashian`s plastic plea. It has got everyone buzzing today after a woman announced on Twitter. She`s going under the knife so she can look like Kim Kardashian so her husband won`t leave her. Well, Kim tweeted back immediately and responded to the woman with an unbelievable plea.

With me, right now, in New York, Rachel Zalis, who is a contributing editor for "Life and Style Weekly." And from Hollywood, it`s Hyla who is an entertainment journalist from "5DollarPrep.com."

So here`s the deal with this. This fan basically wanted to be a plastic surgery clone of Kim because she says her husband worships Kim Kardashian.

And Brooke Anderson, I know you`ve been following all of these tweets. What is Kim saying?

ANDERSON: A.J., Kim was totally against the whole idea re-tweeting the fan`s message and simply writing no. She then tweeted the fan writing this, "Please don`t. Your husband should love you for who you are. Don`t try to be someone else."

"I`m sure you are beautiful inside and out just as you are. Don`t change yourself for anybody but yourself. Be happy with who you are. Someone will appreciate and adore you just as you are."

Now, A.J., we don`t know what this fan decided to do, but I say, way to go, Kim.

HAMMER: Yes. I`m right there with you. You know, Rachel, given Kim Kardashian`s obsession with looks, I mean, that`s putting it mildly, I was actually pretty surprised that she shot down this idea. I`m obviously glad she did. It was the right move clearly, right?

RACHEL ZALIS, CONTRIBUTING EDITOR, "LIFE AND STYLE WEEKLY": Oh, absolutely. I totally agree. I mean, this woman is taking the phrase "keeping up with the Kardashians" to a crazy extreme -

HAMMER: Oh, yes.

ZALIS: Like the show years ago called, "I Want a Famous Face." It`s a horrible thing and I`m glad that Kim is saying, "Don`t do it." But she`s saying don`t do it for someone else.

Kim, you know, is someone who has gotten Botox, has thought about getting her nose done. So she`s not saying you can`t ever do plastic surgery. She`s saying just don`t do it for your loser husband that you should dump.

HAMMER: Yes. You know, when it comes to Kim Kardashian - and Hyla, I want to get your take on this - words like "narcissistic" have been thrown around, again, obsessed with looks. Are you a little surprise that had Kim shot down the idea of this woman trying to look more like her?

HYLA: This is what I don`t understand. If it makes the couple happy, why aren`t we applauding this? If the husband is happy and then the wife is happy and then they have a happy relationship, isn`t that the end result here? Yes, let them do it. I encourage it. Why not?

HAMMER: Yes. But it sounds like the woman was doing it for the husband, man, not for herself. I mean, please.

HYLA: It`s about happiness at the end of the day. and we saw how well this worked out, right? We saw this with Angelina Jolie and octomom so I don`t see how this could go wrong.

HAMMER: Yes. Yes. You`re actually right - right there, Hyla. You pretty much summed it up for me so I`ll just move on. Kim`s Twitter talk sparked a debate today with the ladies of "The View." No surprise there. They debated whether or not stars like Kim should actually even reach out directly to their troubled fans. Watch this.

Sherri shepherd, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": Now with Twitter and Facebook, you can actually, you know, tweet Tom Cruise, and he will answer you back.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Right.

SHEPHERD: And you feel like -

WHOOPI GOLDBERG, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": But if you ask him for advice and he gives you his advice and you take it and it doesn`t work out for you, is he responsible?

SHEPHERD: That`s a hard thing because people tweet me all the time about stuff and I say to them, I`m not an expert in this field. Why are you asking me this kind of information? They see me on TV but I`m not a doctor.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, Rachel. What do you think? Did Kim have a responsibility to say something to this fan? Or should she have drawn the line and stayed away from it?

ZALIS: I think it`s important that people interact with their fans. I mean, people are hugely influenced. And if this woman is going to change her butt to have Kim Kardashian`s famous fanny, then, Kim can have a say in what she does. She`s obviously putting it out there.

HAMMER: Brooke, regardless of what Hyla thinks, what`s your take?

ANDERSON: You know, I think this woman is married to a jerk and he needs to get a clue, stat.

HAMMER: Yes.

ZALIS: Yes.

ANDERSON: And I think that - you know, I don`t necessarily think it`s Kim`s responsibility to intervene, but I`m happy that she did and did so in such an empowering way.

OK. I`ve got to move now, A.J., to another big story just in today. Oprah has reportedly offered the Duchess of York a primetime talk show on the upcoming Oprah Winfrey Network.

Now, we get this news just a month after Fergie`s tell-all to Oprah about getting caught on camera trying to sell access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew. Hyla, what do you think? A Fergie show on the Oprah Winfrey network, a good move?

HYLA: It`s really by bizarre because it`s about ratings, right? And is Fergie going to bring in audience? If you`re going to go Brit, why don`t you go share an Osbourne or go to mainland Europe and have Heidi Klum host a show.

Now, we`ve seen her on her show. I`d love to see her on a talk show format. But who is going to tune in and listen to what Fergie has to say and her advice?

ANDERSON: Well, you know, you never know because SHOWBIZ TONIGHT reached out to Oprah, didn`t hear back by show time. But it was just after Fergie`s scandal blew that up she went on Oprah to fess up and explain what happened. Watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

OPRAH WINFREY, HOST, "THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW": What are you telling yourself when you`re sitting in that room and now -

SARAH FERGUSON, DUCHESS OF YORK: Well, you`re just - you`re just - you get to a point. And this is very key to people watching, is that I - I hope in the future that I`ll one day get to a point where I`ll show this is what you get to when you don`t face your dark side and the demons and the fears that run in you.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Rachel, super, super quick. Good idea, Fergie on the Oprah Winfrey Network?

ZALIS: Oh, yes. I want to know how much it`s going to cost to land Prince Andrew for her first guest.

ANDERSON: Good one. Rachel Zalis, Hyla, thank you both.

HAMMER: On stage and under attack. One of the biggest bands out there right now gets hit, pelted and has to run for cover from pigeon poo. Yes, outraged fans are crying foul over this today. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Louis Prima receives posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. "Terminator`s" Linda Hamilton set to join the cast of "Chuck" as "Chuck`s" mom.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Did you see this? Grammy winners Kings of Leon on stage Friday for a big concert. They barely got started. And apparently what they were playing didn`t agree with a bunch of birds, Brooke.

ANDERSON: A.J., this was messy. The Kings of Leon, a phenomenal group. They were on stage in St. Louis, Missouri. And apparently, a lot of pigeons like to hang out in this particular venue, too. The group got through just three songs, A.J. They were getting hit and pelted, not by fans, but by pigeon poop.

HAMMER: And it was all just too much for the Kings of Leon to handle. They later cancelled the concert. As you mentioned, the band knew about the pigeon problem. Obviously, they underestimated the power of the poop. I`m certain they will be rescheduling that concert.

ANDERSON: And thankfully, A.J., no pigeons hanging out here in this studio.

HAMMER: How do you know about this one, though? A whole different thing here. More bizarre animal news today. Bears that break into cars. Did you see this? A Colorado teen is telling quite a story today.

A bear breaks into 17-year-old Ben Story`s car and then takes it for one unforgettable ride. This is true, and in fact I`m going to let the Story family tell their own story.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BEN STORY, OWNER OF THE CAR DRIVEN BY A BEAR: There`s a peanut butter sandwich in the back seat.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And I guess he smelled the peanut butter sandwich.

STORY: He had to smell something and I think that`s what it was.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He opened the back door and climbed right in.

STORY: So he hit the shifter knob.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And the door closed behind him.

STORY: And knocked it into neutral.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He was trapped.

STORY: Rolled down the hill.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Just kind of sucks.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, the bear was stuck in the car apparently for several hours. Authorities finally got him out and discovered an unbearable surprise. I`ll just say it didn`t smell very well.

The story does have a happy ending though. The insurance company is picking up the tab, and the bear is just fine.

Well, on Friday we asked to you vote in our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll. Moments ago we received the final results. Here it is - "Mel Gibson`s Mess: Whose side are you on?" Sixty-two percent say team Mel; 38 percent say team Oksana.

And Brooke, there is still a passionate debate happening today about Mel and Oksana`s messy breakup.

ANDERSON: A.J., nearly 60,000 votes were cast in our exclusive poll. And I can tell you the "Showbiz on Call" phone lines have been ringing nonstop, too. Kennedy from California is no fan of Mel.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

KENNEDY, CALLER FROM CALIFORNIA: I`m Team Oksana. Mel should not be verbally abusing anybody no matter what situation. And people are only taking his side because he`s a celebrity, and that`s not right.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Thanks, Kennedy. But Gloria in Colorado thinks that Kennedy got it all wrong.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

GLORIA, CALLER FROM COLORADO: I think Mel Gibson is right. I think that that girl used him for his fame and his money. I can see why he was so upset because I would be that upset if somebody was trying to do that to me.

I don`t believe her for one bit. I do believe Mel Gibson, and I would watch any of his movies. I don`t think it will ruin his career.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Call us at "Showbiz on Call" and let us know what you think about this or anything else. "Showbiz on Call" phone lines always open - 1-888-SBT-BUZZ; 1-888-728-2899.

HAMMER: And that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thank you so much for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

ANDERSON: I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. Take care.
