ANDERSON: Hi, there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today - Lindsay out of lockup - sort of.

At this very moment, Lindsay Lohan is no longer behind bars but she is apparently behind the doors of a rehab facility and not by choice. Lindsay got out of jail early this morning after nearly two weeks behind bars and headed straight to rehab just like a judge ordered.

But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that brand-new explosive debate surfaced about Lindsay`s future. Could she get out of rehab early? I certainly hope not. Could she wind up back in jail? Hopefully not.

But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is here to tell that you when it comes to Lindsay Lohan, the only thing that is certain is the unpredictable.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Lindsay Lohan let out of jail after getting time off for good behavior.

ANDERSON: Once upon a time, early morning breaking news about Lindsay Lohan usually involved her getting tossed in jail.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Lindsay Lohan was released from jail early this morning.

ANDERSON: But this morning, the early morning breaking news was that Lindsay Lohan was released from jail after serving 13 days of a 90-day sentence at Lynwood`s Century Regional Detention Facility.

While we all remember the media circus we saw when Paris Hilton cat walked out of that same jail in 2007, Lindsay`s release this morning was a tad more low key. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you this brand-new video showing the SUVs that reportedly took Lindsay from jail to a rehab facility. The uneventful jail release came in the dead of night, 1:35 a.m. local time.

NINA PARKER, TMZ PRODUCER: There were people who were camping out outside to wait for her to come out. Literally, there was like a "Camp Lindsay" out of Lynwood jail.

ANDERSON: Even with all those reporters parked outside of jail, no one got the money shot of Lindsay physically leaving. In fact, no one knew for sure she`d left until a sheriff`s department spokesman announced this morning -

STEVE WHITMORE, LOS ANGELES SHERIFF`S DEPARTMENT SPOKESMAN: She has been sent directly to her destination which is a treatment center.

ANDERSON: Officials aren`t saying exactly which treatment facility Lohan is staying in for her court-ordered rehab stay. But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you it`s the worst-kept secret in Hollywood, Lohan reportedly rehabbing here at the UCLA Medical Center.

PARKER: No chance of this being a two-week stint like it was for her jail time. Lindsay will serve her - in treatment facility for 90 days.

ANDERSON: When SHOWBIZ TONIGHT asked UCLA officials point-blank if Lindsay is there, they responded, quote, "We can`t confirm or deny that a patient is even in the hospital."

Fair enough. But in this new video from "RadarOnline.com," we see black SUVs that resemble the ones we saw leaving the jail minutes earlier arriving at UCLA Medical Center. Quite a lot of commotion for a typical early Monday morning.

JUDGE MARSHA REVEL, LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT: That`s 90 days in jail.

ANDERSON: Almost a month ago when a judge first sentenced Lindsay to that 90-day jail sentence, it was easy to overlook the second part of the sentence.

REVEL: Within two days of her release from jail, she`s ordered to report to probation and she`s ordered to do a 90-day in-patient substance abuse program.

ANDERSON: Lindsay`s rehab could complicate her efforts to make a Hollywood comeback.

LINDSAY LOHAN, ACTRESS: Isn`t it delicious?

ANDERSON: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT obtained this outrageous trailer showing Lindsay in full Marilyn Monroe mode for her next movie, a crude-looking comedy called "Underground Comedy 2010."

ANNOUNCER: Lindsay Lohan settles the score with the media.

ANDERSON: As you can tell, this isn`t exactly a Spielberg film. In fact, its director and star is the guy from the Shamwow commercials.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Shamwow - you`ll be saying wow every time.

ANDERSON: The trailer says the movie will come out some time in the fall, potentially right in the middle of Lindsay`s rehab stay. And Lindsay`s legal trouble has put her other projects on hold, too.

But more important than her movie career is Lindsay`s health. This is at least her third time in rehab.

PARKER: We`re told in the past she didn`t really take it seriously. So hopefully, this time, now that it`s court ordered, she`ll take it more seriously.

ANDERSON: And if she doesn`t take rehab seriously, or if she fails to stay sober through the end of her probation next year, the next update we hear about Lohan could be that she`s headed back to jail.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: All right. Lindsay may be out of jail and into rehab. But there are a lot of big questions remaining today. And that brings us to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - could Lindsay get out of rehab early?

Joining me right now in New York, Carolina Bermudez, who is a senior editor for "In Touch Weekly." Right now, in Hollywood is Jim Moret, the chief correspondent for "Inside Edition" and the author of the fabulous book, "The Last Day of My Life."

Jim, I want to begin with you, because my understanding is that Lindsay has to stay in rehab for the entire 90 days. But is there some sort of loophole? Is there any way she can get out?

JIM MORET, CHIEF CORRESPONDENT, "INSIDE EDITION": She got out of jail early because of jail overcrowding. It doesn`t work like that with rehab.

ANDERSON: Oh -

MORET: Basically, she`s in rehab for 90 days. And that`s a good thing. And the two weeks in jail may have been just what she needed to reach rock bottom and to really embrace the next 90 days.

ANDERSON: I don`t know, Jim, because "People" magazine already reporting that Lindsay doesn`t think she needs any help and she`s upset that she didn`t see her family between jail and rehab. So it just screams arrogance to me.

MORET: I think it screams addiction.

ANDERSON: Maybe -

MORET: I don`t know if she`s any different from most other people who are in this situation who are ordered to go to rehab. It often takes more than once or twice or three times. And you know what? I think a lot of people are rooting for her.

ANDERSON: Absolutely. We`re all rooting for Lindsay Lohan to get healthy, especially Lindsay Lohan`s father, Michael Lohan, because he thinks rehab can, indeed, work for Lindsay.

Just hours ago, he told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, "Yes, it can work. As long as they get her off all the prescriptions and don`t add any. Plus, if they don`t make family therapy mandatory, it`s useless.

ANDERSON: OK. Lindsay`s dad, optimistic. I`m optimistic. But that said, Carolina, I`m not sure that 90 days in rehab is enough for Lindsay given all her relapses. Maybe she needs more time. What do you think?

CAROLINA BERMUDEZ, SENIOR EDITOR, "IN TOUCH WEEKLY": I have to agree with you, Brooke. And I`m scared to say this, but I agree with Michael Lohan completely and wholeheartedly with that statement.

ANDERSON: Mark it down.

BERMUDEZ: Really, mark it down. I think that the one thing people are overlooking here is that her own mother has denied that she has an issue. And once you have somebody in your family, in your inner circle, that isn`t acknowledging that you have a problem, I think that`s the bigger issue here.

Ninety days is not a long time. She`s an addict. You become an addict for life. And without being dramatic, this is a fight for Lindsay`s life right now. She can go one of two ways. And if she doesn`t go right down the right path, then she`s going to go right back where she was just yesterday - back in jail.

ANDERSON: Yes. You`re not being dramatic. It`s literally life or death for Lindsay Lohan. And you know, the judge ordered her to remain clean and sober until August of next year because she`ll be on probation until that time.

In the past, she`s had trouble remaining clean for two weeks, which is why we are asking in our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll, "Lindsay Out of Jail: Are you convinced she won`t go back to jail again?" Vote CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. E-mail us, showbiztonight@cnn.com.

Jim, I want to throw that quickly to you. Are you convinced she won`t go back?

MORET: No, but it`s not just 90 days, because, then, that - and she has an outpatient program. That`s really what you hope. This will continue. She needs support after the 90 days to keep her clean and sober. This is an ongoing, perhaps a lifelong battle for her.

And look at Robert Downey, Jr. He turned his life around, he found redemption in his family. Perhaps Lindsay can do the same.

ANDERSON: Perhaps, she can. And she`s got to purge the negative influences from her life, I think. All right. So with Lindsay in rehab, some people might be wondering whether Snooki also needs to watch herself. "Jersey Shore" star Snook is free today, this after getting arrested on Friday charged with disorderly conduct.

Snooki was reportedly seen doing body shots and beer bongs all day long before she fell off her bike and finally got arrested by Saturday night. The thing was back out there partying again. Carolina, I`m thinking we need to keep an eye on Snooki because I would hate to see her wind up just like Lindsay Lohan.

BERMUDEZ: I would, too. I think she`s a character, but she is a disaster waiting to happen right now. And you know, if you look at these kids on the "Jersey Shore", the more air time that you get, it`s because you do crazy outlandish things.

So this could be a, you know, complication of fame. And Snooki won the lottery. She should just look at this opportunity and say, "Thank you. I`m going to just milk this for everything`s it`s worth and not embarrass myself." But unfortunately, that`s what she did over the weekend.

ANDERSON: All right. I have to share this with you, guys. Late today, the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT investigative team got its hands on Snooki`s mug shot. Check this out. Jim?

MORET: She looks better than I thought she would.

ANDERSON: I`ve got to say, no, no, no. It`s got to be the worst one that I have seen in a long time.

MORET: No. You know what? We applaud her and pay her and put her on TV for being ridiculously outrageous.

ANDERSON: We don`t. You know MTV. That`s the problem.

(CROSS TALK)

MORET: And she`s successful because of it. And now, you`re saying she has a problem. Yes. She may have a problem. But she`s being rewarded by getting her own TV show, isn`t she?

ANDERSON: Very complicated. She`s a total mess. She also needs help, it seems. Carolina Bermudez, Jim Moret, thank you both.

ANDERSON: All right. Now, Charlie Sheen`s court showdown. Brand-new details just revealed today about Charlie`s latest courtroom drama. Charlie facing serious domestic abuse charges involving his wife. Would it be outrageous if Charlie does not get any jail time?

And Lady Gaga`s shocking sex and drug confession, Gaga says yes to using cocaine. What she says no to may surprise you.

And Jessica`s tweet love. Jessica puckers up for a provocative pose for her new man. Are you happy for Jess, or is this just TMI? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Bieber book? Sixteen-year-old Justin Bieber to write memoir. Madonna is in Paris directing scenes for her new film, "W.E."

(MUSIC PLAYING)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Kim Kardashian`s scary stalker drama. Kim reveals on Twitter an alleged stalker is harassing her again. According to new reports just revealed today, the alleged suspect is also harassing her new boyfriend and one of her sisters.

Kim got a restraining order against the guy in February. According to TMZ, Kim is talking with police to make sure that she and her family stay safe. Yes, hope so.

All right, welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.

We have got some explosive news. Just in today, Mel versus Oksana. In a shocking new interview, Mel`s ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva tells "Radar Online" that Mel is trivializing the domestic violence and launching a smear campaign against her.

Right now, in Chicago, Kelly Saindon, who is a family and entertainment lawyer. Hey, Kelly, good to see you.

I want to tell you Oksana due in court today to testify against Mel Gibson in their heated custody battle over their nine-month-old baby daughter.

But she already said a lot in the explosive new "Radar Online" interview even though all of her advisors keep telling her to zip it, stay quiet. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

OKSANA GRIGORIEVA, MEL GIBSON`S EX-GIRLFRIEND: Mel is basically trivializing domestic violence and this is very, very sad. What is unfair, that by standing up to somebody and speaking up, I`m being victimized all over again. I feel like he`s competing. He`s hired so many people, I`m being victimized all over again.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Did you ever try and extort money from him as he`s alleging?

GRIGORIEVA: No, I have never extorted anything from him. There`s no proof of any kind. That`s all false information that`s he feeding across. It`s a smear campaign.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: I feel for her, I do. But Kelly, with all of the investigations going on - Mel for a possible domestic violence, Oksana for possible extortion - I`m thinking it`s a big mistake for Oksana to be speaking so publicly like this. What about you?

SAINDON: I completely agree with you. She needs to stop talking. If she wants to him prosecuted for domestic violence, let that play out. And if she`s comfortable that there`s no proof, I don`t think that`s the best statement to come out.

There`s no proof of extortion. She should just say, "No, I didn`t extort that man. I`m a victim. Leave me alone. Let it play out in the courts."

ANDERSON: Absolutely. Well, in this brand-new interview, Oksana also claims that all those horrible tapes and voicemails suspected to be Mel happened in one night - one night. Kelly, if Mel were charged here, would that affect his case one way or the other?

SAINDON: Well, it`s going to help him look a little better if he does go through some anger management, if he says, you know, "I drank too much," or "I was a little out of control." It was one incident instead of multiple incidents.

So it would be one charge of domestic battery instead of different ones for all of the different threats in the conversation, if it is, in fact, proven to be him. So it minimizes the amount that he can be charged with because it would be viewed as one incident. So it would be helpful to him and damaging to her.

ANDERSON: Oh, it is just terrible. Every time I hear those tapes, it just sounds so monstrous. It makes me sick to my stomach. All right. We`re going to leave it there for now. Kelly Saindon, thank you so much.

The "Showbiz on Call" phone lines have been ringing nonstop today. So many people calling in to talk about the big changes coming to "American Idol`s" new season. Ann from Iowa says that she hopes reports that Kara DioGuardi off the show are simply not true.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

CALLER: I understand Ellen quitting. I think she`s better to be somewhere else. I love her. But I can`t believe they`re now getting rid of Kara. She`s the only one on the panel that actually knew anything about music. I liked her.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Thank you, Ann. Betty from California says that she`s worried that all of the show`s changes could spell disaster for "Idol."

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

CALLER: I don`t think they should have ever brought Kara in. Nobody ever liked her. They should have left it - Randy, Simon and Paula. And if they bring Paula back, it won`t work because Simon is not there. I think it`s going to be a mess. I don`t think it`s going to work with whoever they`re bringing in.

ANDERSON: I liked Kara, OK? Thank you, Betty, for your call. Hey, give us a ring at "Showbiz on Call." Let us know what you think about this or anything else that is on your mind.

The "Showbiz on Call" phone lines are always open - 1-888-SBT-BUZZ; 1- 888-728-2899. Leave a message. We will play some of your calls right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

All right Lady Gaga`s jaw-dropping sex and drug confession. Gaga really knows how to stir up controversy. And today, Gaga reveals a bombshell she comes clean to using cocaine. And what she says about sex may just knock you off your feet.

"American Idol" in turmoil. The big shake-up at the judge`s table. The SHOWBIZ TONIGHT great idol debate today - who should replace Ellen? J. Lo? Jessica Simpson? What about Britney Spears?

From "Housewives of New Jersey" to selling tan? What? "Real Housewives" co-star Teresa is hawking tans on TV. Oh, my.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TERESA GIUDICE, CAST MEMBER, "REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY": I tan at Sizzle because of their exceptional beds and organic UV Ray spray option.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views. And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Fox to launch American Country Music Awards. Gwyneth Paltrow debuts new country song, "Country Strong," for new film.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PIERS MORGAN, GUEST HOST, "LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY": You can do this. On Friday`s show, Regis and Kelly talked with actor Kevin Klein. In what 1982 film did we say Kevin co-star with Meryl Streep and which was also his first film?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: That was Piers Morgan this morning filling in on "Live with Regis and Kelly" asking the show`s daily trivia question to a lucky viewer. Now, she only had 20 seconds to answer. And you will not believe what happened next.

Did you see this today? High drama on "Regis and Kelly" this morning. If you watched a show, you know a viewer has a shot every morning to win a dream vacation. This lady wanted it so badly to surprise her firefighter husband for their 20th anniversary. She gave the right answer, but only after time was up, so she lost.

But that`s when things got really wild. Yes. "America`s Got Talent" judge Piers Morgan was so moved by her story, he did something so stunning. It even left Kelly Ripa speechless.

KELLY RIPA, CO-HOST, "LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY": Here`s the good news -

MORGAN: If I may so - I just got married, right?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.

MORGAN: You know, I`m supposed to be a dream crusher.

RIPA: Yes.

MORGAN: I would like to be a dream maker. Why don`t I pay for you to go?

(CHEERS)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: I love it. Piers is often a dream crusher on "America`s Got Talent." But today, Piers, a dream maker.

OK, a big debate happening right now on our Facebook wall about Lindsay Lohan`s dramatic exit from jail and getting a one-way ticket straight to rehab. So many people think that Lindsay got off easy.

Ricky thinks Lindsay`s jail time was just another case of celebrity justice, "She should have spent the full 90 days in jail. Always a slap on the wrist for all celebrities who commit crimes. Let`s see if she`ll stay in rehab or leave early."

Debbie N. hopes jail sets Lindsay straight, "Maybe she will follow the rules now." I hope.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It`s 30 minutes past the hour. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood, with big news breaking today - Lindsay Lohan, lessons learned?

Lindsay was released from jail after 13 days behind bars. She went straight from her jail cell to rehab. OK, all of this has happened after years of misbehaving, going to rehab, thumbing her nose at the law.

So I have to wonder today, even after Lindsay did her time, did she learn any lessons from her crime?

Right now from New York, Carolina Bermudez, who is a senior editor with "In Touch Weekly." Right now, in Hollywood, Jim Moret who is the chief correspondent for "Inside Edition" and author of this top-notch book, "The Last Day of My Life."

OK. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT obtained brand-new video from "RadarOnline.com." Lindsay being carted off to rehab early this morning. Now, you would think after 13 days in jail, Lindsay would feel at least humbled.

But in a brand-new report today, Lindsay is said to still feel as though she doesn`t need help, doesn`t need rehab. Which leads to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint today - will Lindsay wind up back in jail again? Carolina, if she`s in denial like that, I think she might.

BERMUDEZ: Unfortunately, yes. I mean, if you`re not looking at this as a new beginning, then you`re setting yourself up to fail again. August of what - August 2011, I think it`s about the time her probation is up. That`s a long time. That`s a whole year for Lindsay to go out there, to get caught up with the same crowd.

I think she really needs to look at this rehab with a fresh perspective and realize that this is her chance to start her life all over again.

ANDERSON: Yes, Jim. She`s got nine months after rehab on probation. And it`s a long time to be on the straight and narrow.

MORET: It is a long time and I tell you what`s good. She went directly from jail into rehab. The judge gave her between one and two days. She didn`t take that time. She went directly. That`s good -

ANDERSON: The judge reportedly changed that order.

MORET: And that`s good, too.

ANDERSON: Yes.

MORET: Because you don`t want to tempt someone who has a problem or a potential problem. The judge says, you have a problem, go to rehab. Look, 90 days a long time. Let`s not count her out yet.

The 13 days, I think, was a wakeup call, regardless of what she`s saying to those close to her. And I think these 90 days will be very telling for her. I think she`s got to hit bottom in rehab before she could -

ANDERSON: You don`t think jail was rock bottom?

MORET: I don`t know. I think - I think it was a wakeup call for her. I think it would be impossible. If you and I were there for 13 days in solitary, for all intents and purposes, I think it would be a wakeup call. We may have bravado -

ANDERSON: We wouldn`t be complaining between jail and rehab, about not seeing our family, about we don`t need help -

BERMUDEZ: Yes. But not only that, Brooke.

(CROSS TALK)

ANDERSON: A little bit differently. Go ahead.

BERMUDEZ: Brooke, not only that. Her own mother was out complaining to the paparazzi that her daughter didn`t have a pillow. I mean, come on, teach your daughter a lesson here. Why don`t you tell her take this time to reflect and get better? Her mother is part of the problem.

MORET: But her mom has never done that.

BERMUDEZ: Pardon?

MORET: Her mom has never done that. Her mom apparently goes to clubs with her.

BERMUDEZ: Exactly.

MORET: Her father is out saying these things, but not her mom.

BERMUDEZ: Oh, no -

ANDERSON: It`s true. She has not had the guidance that she needs. And pillow shmillow(ph) -

MORET: Right.

ANDERSON: I mean, you break the law, you deserve to be punished. You have to face the consequences. Well, I`ve got to say, the ladies and guest co- hosts of "The View," Bryant Gumbel and Mario Cantone were all over Lindsay`s jail release today. She may have served her time, but she was still a punch line this morning. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MARIO CANTONE, GUEST CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": This is a tragic thing, because she`s actually a very talented actress.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: How do you know?

CANTONE: I`ve seen her in films. And I think she was good in "Georgia Rules". She`s a very good actress. It`s a shame that she`s in this batch of craziness. She could have had a career.

(CROSS TALK)

BRYANT GUMBEL, GUEST CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": How long did she stay there? How long did she wind up staying in rehab?

JOY BEHAR, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": She stayed 20 minutes to life, I believe.

(LAUGHTER)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Jim, she`s the butt of jokes. Very quickly, she`s got to learn her lessons in rehab.

MORET: Yes. Whether she does or not, it`s difficult to say. She hasn`t learned before, but maybe this is the time.

ANDERSON: Maybe this is the time after those multiple previous stints in rehab. OK, I`ve got to move now to more big news breaking in "The Buzz" today.

There`s big cougar news today about Jennifer Aniston, a real housewife gets real tan and Jessica Simpson`s big kiss and tweet - all in "The Buzz" today.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over): Aniston to cougar town? Jennifer Aniston is reportedly nearing a deal to reunite with "Friends" costar Courtney Cox on Cox`s hit ABC show, "Cougar Town."

"Entertainment Weekly" has just reported Aniston may guest star on the show. The holdup appears to be planning Aniston`s shooting schedule around her other projects. Another friend`s co-star, Lisa Kudrow, appeared on Cox`s "Cougar Town" during the first season.

Teresa`s tan bonanza. "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star, Teresa Giudice, has just started appearing in a cheesy-looking commercial for a Jersey tanning salon.

GIUDICE: I tan at Sizzle because of their exceptional beds and the organic UV ray spray options.

ANDERSON: Giudice is trying to make some money to recover from her bankruptcy filing by turning bronzer to gold. Hopefully, she`s getting a lot from these commercials. Her family`s personal possessions are scheduled to be auctioned off in bankruptcy proceedings by the end of the month.

Simpson`s smooch. Jessica Simpson is sharing with the world a kiss to remember. Simpson has just posted an awkward picture on Twitter of her kissing boyfriend, Eric Johnson. Jessica tweeted away, quote, "Romance 101 - getting kissed by my yalie. Me, not looking so smart, but yum."

Perhaps Jessica would have looked smarter if she were looking at the man she was kissing instead of the camera she was holding.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: And there are more big stories making big buzz today. Lady Gaga`s shocking confessions about sex and drugs.

I want to start with the sex, shall we? In the brand-new "Vanity Affair" out today, Gaga reveals avoids sex because she thinks it zaps her creative energy.

She says, "I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone, they`re going to take my creativity from me through my -" and then she refers to her private part. Carolina, did we need to know that - TMI here?

BERMUDEZ: That`s a little bit TMI there. But I do celebrate her celibacy, I guess, if you want to call it that. But I think that`s just a little bit too much. Lady Gaga is known for being edgy. This is so typical of something that she would say.

ANDERSON: Absolutely. Well, in that same "Vanity Fair" interview out today, Gaga also admits to using cocaine, saying, "I won`t lie. It`s occasional. When I say occasional, I mean maybe a couple of times a year." She emphasized she does not endorse drug use, but why go there, Jim? Seems like a dumb thing to say.

MORET: Well, she also admitted she hit rock bottom and went to her grandmother`s house and needed to not go to rehab but, you know, get her head together.

Look, everything she does is outrageous. It wouldn`t make news if she said she was in a monogamous relationship and doesn`t use drugs, right?

ANDERSON: But the music stands on its own, I would think.

MORET: Yes. But she`s more than the music. She`s the costume. She`s the allure. We don`t know her real name. It`s all of that stuff, right?

ANDERSON: It is the entire package. So no shock that Gaga being provocative here. OK. Got to move now to brand-new Jessica Simpson relationship news - her brand-new kiss and tweet.

Jessica just posted a photo on Twitter showing her lip-locked with her new boyfriend, former NFL player and Yale graduate, Eric Johnson.

She tweeted, "Romance 101 - getting kissed by my yalie. Me not looking so smart, but yum." Carolina, is this PDA run amuck, or should we just finally be happy for Jessica?

BERMUDEZ: I feel like we should finally be happy for Jessica. I wished she would have learned her lesson and not put everything out there so much. But come on. When you`re in love, you want everybody to know. You want to show off a little bit. Give the girl a break. I mean, she`s in love.

ANDERSON: Jim, they seem happy.

MORET: I feel sorry for her. You`re beating this poor girl up.

ANDERSON: I`m not. I said they seem happy.

MORET: She`s dressed. We`re not seeing her do anything. It`s a little kiss. Let her be happy.

BERMUDEZ: Let`s her get a little naughty.

MORET: Yes.

ANDERSON: You`re right. It`s innocent.

MORET: Let her be happy.

ANDERSON: I am thrilled that she has found love.

MORET: OK.

ANDERSON: I hope it lasts.

MORET: Good. You`re on the record.

ANDERSON: Thank you, Jim. Carolina Bermudez, Jim Moret, thank you both.

All right, so Lindsay`s out of lockup and in rehab. But will Charlie Sheen follow in her footsteps? Charlie`s courtroom showdown today breaking details on whether Charlie is heading to jail for allegedly attacking his wife at knifepoint, or if he`ll walk right back on to the set of his hit show.

LEONARDO DICAPRIO, ACTOR: (INAUDIBLE) the most skilled extractor.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: How can we do that?

DICAPRIO: Because I am the most skilled extractor.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with a Sheen showdown in a Colorado courtroom. That`s where Charlie Sheen was all set to learn if he`d be going to jail for attacking his wife on Christmas Day.

And late today, a judge gave Sheen a 30-day jail sentence. But Charlie won`t have to go to jail. He`ll serve his sentence at a rehab facility in Malibu.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He`s grateful and thankful to be able to put this behind him. He goes back to work tomorrow morning so he can produce a TV show that we all know and love.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Right now, in Hollywood, Ken Baker, who is the chief news correspondent for "E!" In New York is Noelle Nikpour, who is a columnist with "South Florida Sun Sentinel."

Hey, you two, in the past seven months, we know that Charlie Sheen has been arrested for domestic abuse, checked into rehab, been to court many times. So, Noelle, here`s what`s baffling a lot of people. No matter what Sheen does, people are still able to watch "2 1/2 Men" and get a good laugh. It`s a hilarious, well-done show, granted, but why do you think people give him a pass in a sense?

NOELLE NIKPOUR, COLUMNIST, "SOUTH FLORIDA SUN SENTINEL": You know what? I mean, welcome to Hollywood, Brooke. People love a scandal, whether it`s good or bad. And unfortunately, all this is going to do is draw more attention to his hit show. People are able to laugh at it and it doesn`t matter what`s going on in his personal life, you know what I mean?

ANDERSON: And he does an excellent job on the show. And I also wanted to say John Cryer - we were watching him in the clip. He`s fantastic.

But Ken, let`s get back to Charlie Sheen. Whether he goes to jail or not, I`m thinking maybe he`s got the attitude that, "Hey, nothing is going to chip away at my Teflon." Do you get it?

KEN BAKER, CHIEF NEWS CORRESPONDENT, "E!": Well, it sort of seems that way. I mean, he definitely seems to have, you know, many lives. He`s had many incarnations. He`s been able to come back several times. He`s survived a lot of PR fiascos.

But I have to tell you this. A lot of people mistake that - think there`s a difference - there`s a difference between a politician, a public servant-type person and a celebrity, OK? A lot of people mistake this.

The celebrities aren`t held to the same ethical standards as, say, a politician or a public servant. And I think he`s made some real big mistakes. He`s done some stupid things. But he`s an entertainer in the end of the day.

And I think if people find him entertaining on his show, then so be it. He doesn`t have any other accountability and I think a lot of people want to give some - there`s way too much power and authority in the society. And I think that`s definitely happening with charley Sheen. No matter what.

(CROSS TALK)

ANDERSON: Interesting perspective. All right. I wan to move now to this other hit TV show making big news today. I want to move to this. It`s "American Idol." We`ve all been talking about it because we were all expecting that "Idol" would announce today who would be replacing Ellen DeGeneres who quit and Kara DioGuardi who is reportedly being fired.

But late today, Fox said there`s still no decision. Noelle, we`re still hearing Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will be coming onboard. Is this embarrassing to "Idol" that they haven`t settled this thing?

NIKPOUR: No, Brooke. This is great publicity. This is why they`re setting it up. And let`s face it. Steven Tyler, the big mouth rocker - he is no good.

But I`ll tell you what, that beauty with the booty, J. Lo, she`s going to revitalize that show and bring that back. That`s what they need. They need a little bit to push them over the edge.

ANDERSON: See, I kind of - I kind of feel just the opposite, Noelle. I think Steven Tyler going to be fantastic on the show?

NIKPOUR: Really? I feel like he`s kind of an old news, old rocker. You know, J. Lo - J. Lo would be good. But I also think that they need to dig deeper and look for maybe a better fit for that show to replace, you know, the old thing with Simon.

ANDERSON: OK. All right. Well, it may be for publicity that it`s delayed, the announcement of the final judges. It may be contract negotiations. Who knows? But I want to show you the results we got in late today of our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll when we asked "`American Idol`: Who should replace Ellen?"

Of the choices we offered, 62 percent thought J. Lo should get the spot; 21 percent, Jessica Simpson; only 17 percent thought Britney Spears would be the right fit.

Ken, I`m a little bit surprised here that there was so little support for Jessica and Britney because wouldn`t they bring a great edge, in a way, to the show?

BAKER: They would, but it would seem very publicity stunt-like. I think with Jennifer Lopez - she`s very established. She`s been in the business a few decades now, and has really done a lot and brought a lot.

She`s also had experience with the show and come on and helped mentor and things like that. But at the end of the day, my only concern would be that - is that Jennifer Lopez, much like Ellen DeGeneres, may have trouble being critical of the contestants.

Ellen said that was a problem that she had, that she had trouble really judging people. Well, guess what, you`re a judge. You have to tell someone they suck when they suck. And I think that that is the number one thing.

But I have to say, though, the fact they`re looking at Jennifer Lopez is very good because it brings credibility to the show in a musical sense. I think that`s what they lost by having Ellen on.

NIKPOUR: Yes, absolutely.

ANDERSON: Yes. And you know what - go ahead, Noelle, very, very quickly.

NIKPOUR: Yes, absolutely. I mean, J. Lo has probably got a great eye for raw talent, because she made her start on the streets. I mean, think about it, "Jenny From the Block."

ANDERSON: She`s got cred. The girl`s got cred. OK. More big news breaking today, Ken and Noelle. Outrage today over the explosive comments that "Playboy" founder Hugh Hefner made about women. Get this - he says all women are sex objects. Ken Baker, Noelle Nikpour, stay right where you are.

We will get to Hef`s astonishing comments in just a moment. But first, a New Jersey housewife`s bankruptcy revelations. We told you earlier that Teresa Giudice, who plays (INAUDIBLE) on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" trying to tan her way out of her massive multimillion dollar debt.

So this morning on "The View," Teresa set the record straight about being broke. Well, sort of. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ELISABETH HASSELBECK, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": On your show, we`ve seen you spend, you know, thousands and thousands of dollars on your wardrobe, on your home, et cetera. And then come to find out this past October, you and your husband Joe filed for bankruptcy and you`re $11 million in debt, but you had no idea?

GIUDICE: Well, no. There`s two reasons we filed. The first reason is that we owned apartment buildings and due to the economy, people lost their jobs and then they couldn`t pay their rent. By them not able to pay their rent, we weren`t able to make our mortgage payments.

HASSELBECK: OK.

GIUDICE: My husband renovated the buildings. He put his blood sweat and tears into these buildings. I saw that.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: But the absence of rent money doesn`t explain - what is it - $11 million in debt?

GIUDICE: Well, it`s all in the building?

HASSELBECK: Does he turn to you at all?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: $11 million?

(CROSS TALK)

GIUDICE: You can`t always believe everything you read. It`s not $11 million like they exaggerate -

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What is the number?

GIUDICE: I don`t really know the number. You would have to ask my lawyer.

(CROSS TALK)

HASSELBECK: Let me ask you this. Did your husband turn to you then and say - obviously, you know, a lot of it does fall in the business that he`s created. Did he look at you say, "Well, if you didn`t go and spend $5,000 on shoes."

(CROSS TALK)

GIUDICE: No, no. Not at all.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Teresa also shoots down reports that she`s about to lose her gargantuan new home. She says the foreclosure reports are dead wrong. Teresa reveals that her money drama actually brought her and her husband closer together.

And now, we`ve got the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" for you - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Former NBA star Dennis Rodman unhurt after car flips three times in accident. Fox`s "Glee" takes top honors at Television Critics Awards.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Big news breaking today - Hugh Hefner says that women are sex objects and it`s not "Playboy`s" fault that they`re seen that way. It`s the explosive brand-new interview out today.

Welcome back. We are back with Noelle Nikpour who is a columnist with the "South Florida Sun Sentinel" newspaper.

Noelle, check out what Hugh Hefner just told the "New York Daily News, quote - here it is, "The notion that `Playboy` turns women into sex objects is ridiculous. Women are sex objects. If women weren`t sex objects, they wouldn`t be another generation. It`s the attraction between the sexes that makes the world go around. That`s why women wear lipstick and short skirts."

OK. Noelle, it seems to me, he is saying here that all women sex objects. Nothing wrong with that. Get over it. He is being so disrespectful here. But Noelle, listen. I can`t say I`m surprised. The guys is 130 years old. He`s not going to change, is he?

NIKPOUR: Brooke, I love it. You know what? Only Hugh Hefner can get away with this. Think about it. He may be an old kook, but people will forgive him. And I`ve got to tell you this.

You know what? Think about it. He`s not that far off and he does know a thing or two about women. Think about it. You know, women buy clothes to enhance their figure. Women wear makeup to enhance their beauty. And they even go as far as getting surgery to improve on what they have or they don`t have. So he`s not really too far off. But he is so funny to look at and funny to (INAUDIBLE).

ANDERSON: So are you saying that women should feel flattered by Hugh`s comments? Or should they be insulted?

NIKPOUR: Well, I tell you what, I think that women want to be admired not only for their brain, but for their beauty. Think about it, women are kind of secretly flattered when a guy kind of looks at them and maybe gives them a wink. I mean, it`s kind of nice to feel that way. So I`m going to give him a pass on that because he`s so old.

ANDERSON: Yes. I think age is the reason why a lot of people are going to give him a pass.

NIKPOUR: Yes.

ANDERSON: OK. Noelle Nikpour, good to see you. Thanks. Hey, I`m psyched to give SHOWBIZ shout-outs to a couple of my buddies at CNN and right here on HLN. They aren`t just delivering the headlines today. They`re making headlines of their own.

Robin Meade, who we all love as the anchor of HLN`s "Morning Express," will be singing on a new album coming out in October. Robin teaming up with pianist Jim Brickman. It will be on his album called "Home."

Robin is over the moon about this. She`s singing a song called "Welcome Home." Robin says it`s dedicated to American troops. I`m going to put in my pre-order for that one today.

Another big SHOWBIZ shout-out to CNN`s Soledad O`Brien. She was just honored as journalist of the year by the National Association of Black Journalists, this for her outstanding series, "Black in America." And it is outstanding. Congratulations, Soledad.

And by the way, the next "Black in America" special will air on CNN this October.

And that`s a wrap for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. Thanks so much for watching. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT now live at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Monday through Friday. And don`t forget, we are still TV`s most provocative entertainment news show - that`s seven days a week, 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.
