There They Go Again; J.Lo`s "Idol" Nightmare; LeAnn`s Big Mistake?

Aired September 20, 2010 - 23:00   ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

A.J. HAMMER, HLN CO-HOST: Big news breaking today on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

Paris` cocaine confession.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PARIS HILTON, ACTRESS: Guilty, your honor.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Paris Hilton admits in court today she had cocaine on her. Will she be going to jail? Is Paris getting special treatment?

Lindsay Lohan`s confession: Lindsay Lohan admits today she failed a drug test. Will she be sent back to jail?

But wait, there`s more. Lindsay speaks out. Her surprising new tweets, but SHOWBIZ TONIGHT dares to ask, has Lindsay hit a new low?

Is J.Lo facing an "Idol" nightmare today? Jennifer Lopez, apparently the new judge on "American Idol." Why she could wind up judging her ex- husband.

Fantasia`s fright: the shocking new video today of Fantasia after her suicide attempt. But was it wrong to show that on TV?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show starts right now.

HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

BROOKE ANDERSON, HLN CO-HOST: Hi there everyone, I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today.

There they go again.

HAMMER: Yes. Brooke, I think this is starting to feel like that movie "Groundhog Day". Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan in drug trouble again today. But this time around SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you it has never been this serious before.

Paris Hilton admitted today, yes, that was her cocaine in her purse, no cockamamie excuses like oh, it was her pet squirrel or something.

Paris pleaded guilty in a Las Vegas court this morning, but she got a get-out-of-jail card, a card that promises to dramatically affect her life.

Lindsay Lohan may not be able to get the same card though. Late this afternoon SHOWBIZ TONIGHT learned a warrant has been issued for Lindsay`s arrest. This is after she failed a drug test, admitted to it, and, of course, this is all fresh from a stint in jail and rehab.

Right now in Atlanta, my colleague Mike Galanos is the host of "HLN News Now", you can catch it every day from noon to 5:00 p.m. Eastern weekdays on HLN; right now in Hollywood, Ken Seeley, Ken is the founder of Intervention 911; and from Hollywood tonight, Jane Velez-Mitchell, the host of HLN`s "Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell." You can catch Jane every night at 7:00 p.m. Eastern here on HLN. She`s also the author of this fine book "I Want".

I got to say I`m watching Paris there in court today. She was reserved, she was respectful and of course, she was decked out from head to toe. And even though she was quite contrite, this judge didn`t make it easy on her at all. Take a look at this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: How do you plead?

HILTON: Guilty, your honor.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What did you do on August 27th, 2010 within Clark County, Nevada, that causes you to plead guilty to this offense?

HILTON: I was in possession as well as telling the officer that the bag wasn`t mine, the purse.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: All right. Well, first of all, as to the possession, what did you possess?

HILTON: Cocaine.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: As to count two charging you with obstructing a public officer, a misdemeanor, how do you plead?

HILTON: Guilty, your honor.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Finally, she`s getting some good advice from a lawyer. Now, you heard her when the judge made her clearly state exactly what she did, making her say cocaine, making her state about what she lied about. Here is what she got for all this: a year`s probation, 200 hours of community service, a $2,000 fine, no jail though, Jane.

What do you think did Paris get what she deserved?

JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HLN HOST, "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL: I think it`s an absolute outrage. I know for a fact, A.J., there are people doing serious hard time for less than what she has done. This is a woman who is not just a socialite she`s a woman with a rap sheet: with DUI in her past, with reckless driving, with driving with a suspended license. She has flaunted the law. Now, she admits that she lied to a cop about having cocaine in her purse, saying it wasn`t her purse, and she doesn`t get jail for any of it?

Just, oh, community service and a fine, which is like a nickel for her. This woman is rich so fining doesn`t count. It`s an outrage.

HAMMER: What do you think, Mike Galanos, because a lot of people would say well, if it is in line with what other people get for similar offenses, then that`s ok, and it`s not celebrity treatment? But Jane is saying the opposite here.

MIKE GALANOS, HLN HOST, "HLN NEWS NOW": Well, you know that`s what I struggled with through the afternoon on HLN "News Now" A.J. I talked to lawyers and I talked to experts saying this is the justice system.

But at the end of the day I`m with Jane on this. It just strikes me as wrong. Strikes me in my gut as wrong that she comes sauntering in, in the low-cut blouse, and yes she was reserved, and yes she said, "Yes, your honor, yes, your honor," but we`ve been down this road with her before.

She has spent time in jail for violating with an alcohol-related reckless driving charge. And even back then after that here was a quote, A.J., saying, "I want to visit more countries where poverty and children`s issues are a big concern. I know there`s a lot of good I can do just by getting involved or bringing attention to this issues."

I want to see change that lasts with her. In a few days in jail I think might have helped with that change for good for someone like Paris Hilton.

HAMMER: Yes, and now we`re in another one of these situations where the next step will be jail because the judge reprimanded Paris saying you know what, you violate probation, and getting anything more than a parking ticket, you`re going to jail for a year, as simple as that. Take a look at the judge and what he said.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You have agreed that any new arrests terminate your term of probation and you`re agreeing to serve a one-year jail sentence. Do you understand that?

HILTON: I completely understand, your honor.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The purpose of this at this point is that you change your conduct. If you`re not changing your conduct, the purpose then shifts simply to punishment. The punishment here is to serve the one-year jail sentence.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Ok, a one-year jail sentence. Ken Seeley, do you think that will be enough to scare her straight?

KEN SEELEY, FOUNDER, INTERVENTION 911: I think that`s enough if the judge could hold her accountable to that. And the problem is just like with Lindsay, 90 days in rehab, 90 days in jail, and how much time is really served?

They believe that they`re above the law. That has to stop. They have to suffer the consequences just like anyone else out there.

HAMMER: Brooke Anderson, I wouldn`t be surprised if we`re seeing this play out all over again and we`re talking about Paris Hilton winding up back in court, back before a judge, and maybe even going to jail.

ANDERSON: Yes and nor would I, A.J., because just as Paris Hilton is making news today, we could be talking about Paris Hilton a year from now. We could be talking about Lindsay Lohan -- who knows how much longer we`ll be talking about her because there`s big, breaking Lindsay Lohan news today, as well.

Lindsay`s new drug drama after Lindsay admitted to failing a court- ordered drug test. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT learned late today that a bench warrant for her arrest has been issued and Lindsay could face jail again.

Lindsay was ordered to appear in court this Friday morning. So we`re asking in today`s "Showbiz Flash Point," can anything set Lindsay Lohan straight? All right, we know she`s been to jail, she`s been to rehab more times than we can count. All of that obviously did not work, so I`m seriously wondering what will work.

So Mike to my "Showbiz Flash Point," can anything set Lindsay Lohan straight?

GALANOS: Well, maybe 30 days in jail will, Brooke. Maybe. But here`s -- here is one thing that strikes me about both Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan what would straighten Lohan. Let`s stay there.

There`s no change in her behavior. You`d mentioned it; you came on our program earlier today, 13 days in jail, 23 days in rehab. What does she do when she gets out? She`s back to her partying ways. I mean, for her to have change that`s going to last, you need somebody in your life saying, you know what? Maybe we`d better not go out tonight. You`re not going to go to these places where she`s been in trouble before where the patterns of trouble --

ANDERSON: Yes.

GALANOS: -- and alcohol, booze, and drugs are set and things are going to change. She`s not going to go on these places and order Shirley Temples and Roy Rogers. She`s going to have trouble with temptation. And I think you`re going to have trouble all over again.

ANDERSON: That would be a start. Lindsay Lohan, start ordering those Shirley Temples, will you, please? And, you know, you`re right, she cannot surround herself with negative influences and there are new reports today, Mike, that Lindsay has been attending AA meetings over the weekend.

I`m hoping it`s not too little too late though, Ken, what do you think? Can anything set Lindsay straight?

SEELEY: Yes, I think putting her back in the court and making her suffer the consequences that were originally imposed. Ninety days in jail, 90 days in treatment and then see if she could beat the system. I believe she`s doing all of this because she believes in her heart that she already won.

She`s just placating everybody, in my experience. That`s what`s happening. She`s placating everyone. She believes she won. Oh, I`ll do as minimal as possible to get past this, and then we`ll see what happens. And what`s going to happen is she`s going to die. She needs to surrender to recovery.

ANDERSON: Yes and be genuine and serious about it.

Well, we aren`t the only ones debating Lindsay`s future today. The ladies of "The View" talked about Lindsay this morning and surprisingly Barbara Walters showed some sympathy for her. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BARBARA WALTERS, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": Sometimes being a celebrity and getting special treatment does you great harm.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.

WALTERS: In this case this girl`s in trouble. She does have a disease. Where is the responsibility of -- I don`t know --

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Of the doctor.

WALTERS: Of a doctor of the rehab, of the court?

JOY BEHAR, HLN HOST, "THE JOY BEHAR SHOW": But what about Paris Hilton who mistook cocaine for a piece of gum. What`s up with her?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: She got a year`s probation.

BEHAR: I mean I think -- the judges just want them out of their hair.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: All right. I think Joy has got a great point there. The judges are probably sick and tired of the excuses but Lindsay does have to face a judge again this Friday.

Jane, what can Lindsay possibly say to a judge to avoid jail time because to me it`s pretty black and white here?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: I don`t think she should try to avoid jail time. Jail could actually save her life. As you mentioned, Brooke, she`s been through how many rehabs? If you count the last hospitalization, four rehabs. It hasn`t worked.

So maybe jail is going to save her life. When you`re in jail you can go to AA and hopefully you don`t take drugs in jail. There was a whole issue of the fact that she was allowed certain medications --

ANDERSON: Right.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: -- that were mood altering.

Let`s hope she gets into jail, does some hard time, is clean and sober.

ANDERSON: Stays completely clean --

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Absolutely.

ANDERSON: -- and no longer shows that apathy, that sense of entitlement and really takes it seriously. Jane Velez-Mitchell, Ken Seeley, Mike Galanos, thank you everybody.

HAMMER: All right.

Right now we`ve got to move on to the incredible J.Lo "American Idol" news today. Now, the countdown is on to the big reveal of the new "Idol" judges this season. Jennifer Lopez is expected to be one of them, and J.Lo may see a very familiar face, her ex-husband. Talk about fireworks. That would be some must-see TV.

There is a shocking new Fantasia video everybody is talking about today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Charlotte 911.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: She`s slowly losing consciously.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Take her out of the shower right now.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, my God.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Is she breathing?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: The frightening moments after Fantasia`s suicide attempt caught on tape but should they be shown on TV?

Leann Rimes under attack again today. This time it`s her ex-husband who is speaking out. He absolutely slams Leann`s reasons for cheating; the stunning new signs today that Leann`s cheating confessions may have backfired.

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN News and Views.

This is the "Showbiz News Ticker." More stories from the newsroom making news today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LADY GAGA, SINGER: We will continue to push you and your administration to bring your words of promise to a reality. We need change now.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.

ANDERSON: A.J., there`s big news breaking in "The Buzz Today".

Leann Rimes` ex-husband explosive response today to Leann`s reasons for cheating.

George Clooney meets his girlfriend`s parents. Could this be a sign George is getting closer to walking down the aisle?

And Kim Kardashian is a single lady again.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: Kim Kardashian single again. Kim`s latest squeeze, Dallas Cowboys receiver Miles Austin, just couldn`t keep up with this Kardashian, so now they`re going their separate ways.

"People" magazine is reporting there are no bad feelings, but the long distance love affair fell apart because they just didn`t have enough time to see each other.

George Clooney meets the parents. George`s girlfriend Elizabeth Canalis just brought him home to Sardinia in Italy to meet mama, papa and the whole extended family.

And while the speculation is that things are getting serious for the Oscar winner and his Italian lady, Clooney`s reps have just shot down reports they got engaged.

Truth or dare? Leann Rimes` ex-husband has just slammed her following her confession about why she cheated on him and left him. Dean Sheremet says her explanation for cheating during their marriage is hogwash.

He just told "Us Weekly" Leann`s claim they got married too young and grew apart doesn`t make sense saying, "Age had very little to do with why we got divorced. I knew and know her better than anyone in this world. I was blindsided and shocked that she of all people would do this to the closest person in her life."

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: So let me get this straight. Leann cheats on her husband, she lies to him about that until she gets busted. Then in her sympathy- seeking cheating confession, Leann allegedly lies again? If that`s not enough, Leann may have triggered a new war of words over her cheating ways today.

Right now in New York is Sunny Hostin. She`s a legal contributor for "In Session" on our sister network, TRU-TV. Sunny, Leann Rimes tried to mend her -- what has sadly become her home wrecking image by using the old "we grew apart" line for leaving her husband for actor and married man Eddie Cibrian.

But today Leann`s ex-husband says, "Uh-uh, that`s not how it went down." Sunny are you cheering Leann`s ex here, Dean Sheremet or did he break some sort of code here by publicly slamming her like this?

SUNNY HOSTIN, LEGAL CONTRIBUTOR, "IN SESSION" TRU-TV: Oh, I am cheering him on. Cheering, cheering, cheering because he came out and he told the truth. She`s going out there on sort of this PR swag trying to make sure that people like her again, and the bottom line is she broke up her marriage, she cheated on her man, she took someone else`s man from her and broke up that family.

And now what are we supposed to do? Are we supposed to think that she`s this terrific person? I say no. I say she`s reserves a place in hell for herself.

(CROSSTALK)

ANDERSON: She did not directly -- she did not directly apologize in her confession, which I think was a disservice. She did herself a disservice. And Sunny, you actually woke up this morning to find yourself in the middle of this whole Leann Rimes` cheating mess because Leann sent a tweet slamming TV talk show host, Wendy Williams for saying on her show there was a special place in hell for Leann cheating on Dean.

HOSTIN: Right.

ANDERSON: Well, today Leann apologized to Wendy. Wendy read the apology on her show this morning, and that`s where it got a little bit twisted because she brought SHOWBIZ TONIGHT into it. Watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

WENDY WILLIAM, TV TALK SHOW HOST: "Hey, Wendy, I do apologize for one thing, my mama got what you said wrong. She was so flustered when we spoke and tears that -- and in tears that blended two stories together. She heard the hell comment from a woman named Sunny Hostin on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT."

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Ok. Sunny, very quickly, is there anything you want to say to Leann?

HOSTIN: Well, I certainly don`t want to apologize to her. And I think she owes Brandi Glanville an apology, and there is a place in hell reserved for her, and she`s going to share that place with a lot of other women. Like Rielle Hunter and Mark Sanford`s soul mate.

And you know, if she`s hot and horny after this married guy, then hell will suit her very well. It will be hot there, too.

ANDERSON: Sunny Hostin, thanks.

HOSTIN: You`re welcome.

HAMMER: Wow.

All right, I`ve got to move on now to Paris Hilton`s dramatic courtroom showdown today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HILTON: I was in possession as well as telling the officer that the bag wasn`t mine, the purse.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: But you know, first of all, as to the possession, what did you possess?

HILTON: Cocaine.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Paris pleads guilty to cocaine possession. Lindsay Lohan fails a drug test after she just gets out of rehab.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with the explosive proof today that these two haven`t changed at all.

Snooki`s brush with death. The "Jersey Shore" star reveals today how she fought back against two life-threatening eating disorders and won.

And did you see this? "Gossip Girl" star Taylor Momsen`s outrageous new video.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Wow. Seventeen-year-old Taylor strips nearly naked.

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN News and Views.

And now the "Showbiz News Ticker": more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Well, there`s big octo-mom news today, Brooke. And no, I`m happy to report she`s not pregnant again.

ANDERSON: No, but she is flat broke and this is really horrible for her children. In a brand-new interview today, Nadya Suleman reveals she`s beyond broke, she`s destitute, and she says she is just days away from being homeless.

HAMMER: As the octo-mom faces a mountain of debt, she also faces some big decisions today. Now, she could actually accept a mega bucks offer to star in a porn movie or she could go on welfare. Check out what the Octo- mom told RadarOnline about what she plans to do.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

NADYA SULEMAN, OCTO-MOM: I`m going to do everything I possibly can not to go on welfare. I believe in my -- in my mind wholeheartedly there`s always a way.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Are you worried about your financial situation?

SULEMAN: I`m worried 24 hours -- well, when I`m sleeping -- and when I`m sleeping and I still wake up. And I`m always worried, yes.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: How long can you last on the funds that you have now?

SULEMAN: I don`t know. I don`t know. I`m -- I borrowed a little so maybe a week.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And then after that hopefully the state will help out?

SULEMAN: Oh, no. I don`t want that.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: There have been offers out there from the largest adult entertainment company for $500,000 if you would do an adult movie for one hour.

SULEMAN: Ok. This is so funny. The biggest paradox is that they`re asking a woman who has been celibate for almost 11 years to do a porno. What is the irony -- what is the paradox in that?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: The woman clearly needs more than financial help I think, Brooke.

ANDERSON: A.J., as I watched the octo-mom`s interview today, I couldn`t help but notice the kids screaming and crying in the background. Her situation, their situation is just so sad.

HAMMER: Yes, it is sad. And I really do hope that she finds some answers for herself and for her family very soon.

ANDERSON: Yes. Me, too.

All right, I`ve got to tell you that I was surprised when I learned that Lindsay Lohan failed a drug test. I thought -- I hoped her latest stint in jail and rehab would set her straight.

Lots of quotes on the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook page today about this. Jade S. says "Lindsay is not taking this seriously. We were all rooting for her to make a comeback."

It`s time now for the "Showbiz Lineup"; here`s what`s coming up on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

Paris Hilton pleads guilty to cocaine possession. Lindsay Lohan fails a drug test after just getting out of rehab. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has exclusive proof today that -- you know what -- these two really haven`t changed much over the years.

Jennifer Lopez is the new judge on "American Idol." A new job for J.Lo on "Idol" could be announced very soon and wow there could be a bombshell waiting for her. Could J.Lo wind up judging her ex-husband?

The shocking new video today of Fantasia after her suicide attempt, but is it wrong to use that tape to promote her reality show?

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN News and Views.

And now to the "Showbiz News Ticker": these are more stories from the newsroom making news today.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HILTON: I was in possession as well as telling an officer that the bag wasn`t mine, the purse.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: But you know, first of all, as to the possession, what did you possess?

HILTON: Cocaine.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Big news breaking on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

They still don`t get it. Paris Hilton pleads guilty to cocaine possession. Lindsay Lohan fails a drug test after just getting out of rehab. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with the explosive proof that these two haven`t changed at all.

The J.Lo "Idol" nightmare: the unbelievable news today that Jennifer Lopez`s angry ex may try out for "American Idol" and could face J.Lo as the judge.

Fantasia`s fright: startling revelations today. The aftermath of Fantasia`s suicide attempt caught on tape.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Charlotte 911.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: She`s slowly losing consciousness.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Take her out of the shower right now.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, my God.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Is she breathing?

(END AUDIO CLIP)

HAMMER: The fired up debate today, is using this footage to promote Fantasia`s reality show totally wrong?

Plus, breaking today from the "Showbiz News Ticker," the prime time female star who earns the most money and Ricki Lake`s fire scare.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today. There they go again. I`m talking about Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, both in brand-new big trouble today.

HAMMER: Yes, let me get you caught up on the very latest developments. Now, Paris Hilton cut a plea deal this morning in Las Vegas in a courtroom pleading guilty to possessing cocaine.

But Paris dodged a jail bullet. She won`t be locked up this time. She is on probation for a year. She must do community service and go to outpatient rehab.

ANDERSON: Lindsay Lohan late this afternoon SHOWBIZ TONIGHT confirmed a warrant has been issued for her arrest after she admitted that she failed a drug test. I can tell you that Lindsay`s probation has now been revoked and she could be looking at time in jail and going back to court-ordered rehab.

Lindsay must appear in court this Friday right back where she started.

All right. So here we go again. It just never ends; the same thing year after year after year.

Joining me from L.A. is E!`s chief news correspondent Ken Baker. Joining me here in Hollywood is Jane Velez-Mitchell, who is the host of "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL" right here on HLN. Jane is also the author of this excellent book "I Want".

So if you think you`ve heard it all before, you`re not imagining things. It is absolutely mind-boggling. It`s like we are caught up in some endless time machine loop.

Let`s open the highly top secret SHOWBIZ TONIGHT time capsule, shall we?

And look at what we have found. The date was June 5th, 2007. Three years ago. Paris Hilton was in jail. Lindsay Lohan was in rehab. It was a much more innocent time when we thought both of them had learned their lesson, but, boy, were we wrong. Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: It`s a quiet time in Hollywood. Red carpets are emptier, the paparazzi are bored, and the streets are a little bit safer because two of Hollywood`s biggest headline makers, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, are, shall we say, indisposed.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: They are in some sense staples of American pop culture and Lindsay and Paris will definitely be sorely missed.

ANDERSON: Yes, indeed, they will be. Paris Hilton is in jail for an estimated three weeks, and Lindsay Lohan is in rehab again after a DUI accident leaving America without two of its most compelling conversation pieces.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Right now there is a huge sense of panic among celeb watchers because everyone is scratching their heads, what to do now that Lindsay and Paris aren`t around.

ANDERSON: Yes, with Paris locked up and Lindsay drying up, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is asking a troubling question, what are we going to do in a world without two of our baddest bad girls?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Now that two of Hollywood`s biggest bad girls, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, are off the scene, we are going to go into withdrawal.

ANDERSON: The sad fact is neither one of them is likely to regale us any time soon with fresh scandals or a new round of the questionable behavior we have come to expect from them.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: They drive so many of these stories that we love to read about and watch. Without them who is going to start a fight at Hide Nightclub? Without them who is going to steal the other`s boyfriend? So we`re at such a loss right now with these two away.

ANDERSON: But we digress. Paris and Lindsay are out of the way and their accomplices like Nicole Richie who has her own DUI troubles and Britney Spears who hasn`t embarrassed herself in a while now appear to be laying low as well.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: There`s definitely a void now in Hollywood of bad girls.

ANDERSON: With Paris Hilton`s expected 23 days in jail and Lindsay`s rehab stay expected to last at least 30 days, get this, both of them could be coming out and back in circulation in the same week. When that happens, there will be much rejoicing in tabloid land. And maybe, just maybe, Lindsay and Paris will be in good places, too.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Both of them will gain a lot from this experience and, you know, hopefully come out better women.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: Yes. Sounds good, right? Well, sadly, as we know, Lindsay and Paris obviously did not come out of 2007 as better women. Can you believe that was more than three years ago, and now nothing has changed.

Today Paris Hilton once again had to face a judge and today a warrant was issued for Lindsay Lohan`s arrest. I mean, it really blows my mind.

This leads to our "Showbiz Flash Point". Paris and Lindsay, will they ever get it? So here we are now. Three long years after drug busts, probation violations, court dates. I used to try to give these guys the benefit of the doubt as far as maybe they will turn their lives around, but I`ve given up.

Jane, to our "Showbiz Flash Point," will they ever get it in your mind?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: They will never get it, A.J., as long as they`re allowed to believe that they are special and the rules do not apply to them. And unfortunately, the courts in allowing them to cut sweet plea deals and letting them serve just a fraction of their time reinforce that notion that the rules don`t apply to them, that they`re special.

In recovery we call this "terminally unique" because it can result in termination of your life if you`re not careful.

HAMMER: Ken Baker, to the "Showbiz Flash Point," do you think they`ll ever get it because clearly they haven`t so far.

KEN BAKER, E! CHIEF NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Well, you know, Lindsay and Paris also have something in common. They did not go to college. And if they had gone to college they would have learned a little bit from Charles Darwin. There`s a theory of evolution.

They have not evolved, and I think that is a major problem here. But it does seem like they`re getting the message. They are just very slow learners.

HAMMER: Well, maybe there has to be a little bit of evolution. We have to at least give Paris Hilton credit for Ken, because there is one thing I noticed that changed since 2007. She did something in that Las Vegas court today that she`s never done before even though it`s happened. She admitted to carrying drugs. Roll that, Charles.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What did you do on August 27th, 2010, within Clark County, Nevada that causes you to plead guilty to this offense?

HILTON: I was in possession, as well as telling an officer that the bag wasn`t mine, the purse.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What did you possess?

HILTON: Cocaine.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Ok. Look at that. She said she possessed cocaine. So let me take you now into our "Showbiz Time Capsule" if I may. Watch what Paris told Larry King in back in 2007.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LARRY KING, CNN HOST, "LARRY KING LIVE": Have you ever been addicted to drugs?

HILTON: No.

KING: Taken drugs?

HILTON: No.

KING: Never taken drugs?

HILTON: No.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, ok. Well, granted, it`s not like a lot of people really believed Paris back then, but, Jane, do you think that maybe now she`s finally been shamed into cleaning up her act now that she actually has copped to what she did?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: No. She only copped to what she did because she was stuck in a corner and that was the requirement of the plea deal. This girl has zero credibility. She is a liar. She lied to the cops when they caught her with that purse. She said it`s not my purse, the one with the cocaine in it.

And all these statements every time she gets in trouble, oh, it`s a new beginning, I want to help the poor, that`s all, I believe, carefully crafted PR nonsense. And we seem to buy it over and over again. When are we going to realize that we`ve got to be a lot more cynical when it comes to how we evaluate these two?

HAMMER: Yes. Well, I think regardless of the reason that she was honest in court today, Ken, I do think Lindsay can actually learn something from Paris to show that maybe she finally gets it. Actually stand up in court this Friday and say, yes, I have a problem, please help me. Don`t you think that would be her best move?

BAKER: Well, you know, there`s been a lot of developments on this front just in the last two weeks. Lindsay, in all seriousness, did admit in her tweet, by the way, on Friday that she has a problem --

HAMMER: Yes.

BAKER: -- and that she`s working on it and she`s a, quote, "work in progress", and she also joked about it on the VMAs when she said no one wants to work with a drunk, trust me, I know. She admitted to being a drunk seemingly in that sketch.

She had never done this before. She was in total denial, but to Jane`s point someone asked me today is Paris just a pathological liar. I looked it up. The first warning sign is -- of someone who is a pathological liar is a liar controls --

HAMMER: Yes.

BAKER: -- to get their own way.

The second thing is they often change their stories. So I`m not a doctor, I can`t diagnose her --

HAMMER: Check box is off for both of them now.

BAKER: -- but it sounds like something is up.

HAMMER: All right, I got to end this, Jane Velez-Mitchell and Ken Baker, thanks, guys.

ANDERSON: All right, moving on now to Fantasia`s fright. The aftermath of the "American Idol" winner`s suicide attempt reportedly caught on tape.

ANDERSON: You`re not going to believe this. VH1 is using Fantasia almost killing herself to promote her reality show. I`m sorry, that`s just totally wrong.

J.Lo`s "Idol" nightmare today. It`s reportedly a done deal. Jennifer Lopez will reportedly be a judge on "American Idol." Well, what the heck is going to happen when her angry ex-husband shows up? He reportedly wants to audition for the show.

And Snooki`s brush with death, Snook`s jaw-dropping confessions today about her battle with the eating disorders that nearly killed her.

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN News and Views.

HAMMER: And this is the "Showbiz News Ticker." More stories from the Showbiz newsroom making news today.

JUDGE JUDY SHEINDLIN, JUDGE JUDY SHOW: Show me how you tapped them.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: This. Not intentionally trying to hurt them.

SHEINDLIN: Like that?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes, ma`am.

SHEINDLIN: Not like that.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Taylor takes it off. Did you see this? 17-year-old "Gossip Girl" star Taylor Momsen makes headlines again today but for the wrong reasons again. She strips to her bra and panties in her music video. The song is called "Make We Want to Die." The name of Taylor`s band, the Pretty Reckless -- enough said.

"Project Runway`s" Tim Gunn just revealed that when he was shooting a guest spot on "Gossip Girl", he said that Taylor was a total brat.

HAMMER: Unbelievable.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York with Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.

ANDERSON: A.J., there`s big, explosive news just in today. A J.Lo "Idol" nightmare: Jennifer Lopez may not have much time to celebrate her reported brand-new $12 million deal to become a judge on "American Idol". That announcement is expected to happen on Wednesday. And big-time controversy erupts today as J.Lo`s ex-husband announces that he is reportedly planning to audition for "Idol" and sing one of her songs.

Joining me right now in New York is Steven Smith, who is a music and pop culture expert. Also right now in New York, is Megan Alexander, who is a correspondent for "Inside Edition".

Steve and Megan, J.Lo`s ex-husband Ojani Noa reportedly plans on making a great big old spectacle of himself during auditions for "American Idol."

Keep in mind J.Lo and Ojani were married for less than a year back in 1997. She`s still locked in a major legal battle with this guy. She had to get a court order to prevent him from releasing private home videos of the two of them.

So, Megan, I`m thinking this could turn into J.Lo`s ultimate nightmare.

MEGAN ALEXANDER, CORRESPONDENT, "INSIDE EDITION": This story has me so fired up, Brooke. First of all, absolutely Jennifer Lopez should get a restraining order against her ex-husband, but this is one more reason why "American Idol" should not let anyone audition that is outside the age limit of 15 to 28.

You see, they let everyone into those general auditions to gather material for the first few episodes of the show. But I`ve got to tell you, Brooke, if I was a young hopeful standing in line like these folks do and this ex-husband comes through, gets all the attention and creates all this drama. I want to audition for a focused judge, not Jennifer Lopez nervous that her ex-husband is going to come around the corner.

I think once upon a time --

ANDERSON: Great point.

(CROSSTALK)

ALEXANDER: -- "American Idol" was about finding true talent. Let`s get it back to that.

ANDERSON: But, Megan, if they stuck to those age requirements, we would not have "Pants on the Ground".

ALEXANDER: I know -- I knew you were going to say that. Yes.

ANDERSON: Ok, you`ve got to listen to this though because Noa plans on showing up reportedly on Wednesday at The Forum right here in Hollywood for auditions and his agent says that he`s going to ask other contestants which J.Lo song he should sing. His agent reportedly says he naturally knows all of her songs by heart.

Steven, creepy. Like Megan said, should J.Lo get a restraining order against him?

STEVEN SMITH, MUSIC AND POP CULTURE EXPERT: No, I think it`s all going to be for good TV. No matter what, it`s going to be good for her. It`s going to be good for "American Idol," and I don`t think he`s going to make it past the preliminaries. Because you don`t really see the judge until you go pass them.

So it`s just going to be hysterical. And that`s what is going to go in the YouTube, it`s going to give him the notoriety he wants -- blah, blah, blah, movie.

ALEXANDER: Movie?

ANDERSON: I can`t wait.

All right, A.J., it seems to me that that J.Lo`s ex -- is well on his way though, to becoming either a real threat or an absolute laughingstock on "American Idol."

HAMMER: Yes. I just hope Jennifer Lopez has good luck in dealing with this if she actually --

ANDERSON: Yes.

HAMMER: -- does have to confront the guy.

By the way, she`s not the only "American Idol" star battling big time drama. In the limelight today, we just got our very first like at 2004 "American Idol" winner Fantasia allowing cameras to film her in the hospital after she attempted suicide.

Now, this was for her VH1 reality show "Fantasia for Real" that debuted last night. Here is what I find incredible. The show ran a promo that included video from after she tried to kill herself and the 911 call. Watch this.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Charlotte 911.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: She`s slowly losing consciousness.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Take her out of the shower right now.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The victim was transported after ingesting medication.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I`m sorry.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, my God.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Is she breathing?

(END AUDIO CLIP)

HAMMER: That`s a promo that`s used to promote the program.

Megan, I find this so disturbing to use such a traumatic event in someone`s life to promote a reality show. Are you with me on that or is it fair game? This is what the cameras are there for?

ALEXANDER: Well, my personal opinion is it`s not fair game, and I think this taps into the conscience of anyone that works on reality television. A.J., I think that the audience though is smart and if they think the wool is being pulled other their eyes, they think that indeed they are encouraging this and this isn`t a true representation of her life, I don`t think they`re going to watch.

So the audience may decide the fate of this show. I think it`s wrong. I think it`s too far.

HAMMER: Yes, and another --

ALEXANDER: They are going too far.

HAMMER: -- and another thing that`s happening is the blogs are going crazy on Fantasia saying she should never have allowed them to use this footage. Obviously, she had already signed off on it probably when she did her contract for the show --

ALEXANDER: Right.

HAMMER: -- but I think she`s in a vulnerable position and maybe she`s just getting exploited. I just think it was a bad, bad move.

Steven Smith, Megan Alexander, thank you both.

ANDERSON: Snooki`s brush with death. I got to say this is really scary stuff. The "Jersey Shore" star reveals today that she battled two eating disorders and nearly died. Her unbelievable emotional confessions today.

HAMMER: Time now for the "Showbiz News Ticker": more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

Ben Affleck`s "The Town" went to town at the box office over the weekend debuting at number one. Now, besides Affleck who stars in and directs the film, "The Town" also stars other Hollywood A-Listers: Jon Hamm from "Mad Men," Jeremy Renner in this, and so is "Gossip Girl`s" Blake Lively. And Blake Lively just told us she was really humbled by working with all those big stars, especially Ben Affleck. Take a look at this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BLAKE LIVELY, "GOSSIP GIRL": This role as I was shooting at half way through it -- it`s like, oh, gosh, I hope they don`t realize that I`m an imposter. You always feel that way because you know, it was a great role and the caliber of talent that I was able to work with.

You`re working alongside them and you are playing this character, and you don`t really have any self-perspective. And when you shoot the hours that he shoots and the takes that he shoot, I mean, he shoots for a long it`s like, oh no, what`s going wrong here?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Thank goodness, Blake in real life is obviously a lot different than her "I`m rich and famous" character on "Gossip Girl".

(EXCERPT FROM WILLOW SMITH`S MUSIC VIDEO)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Did you see this? It`s your first look at Willow Smith`s music video. Willow Smith is 9 years old. She`s the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. Her tight new single is called "Whip My Hair". Willow`s song is actually number 60 today on the Billboard R&B Hip-Hop Songs Chart.

That whole family, wow, talented and making money.

ANDERSON: Yes.

HAMMER: All right. Startling new revelations today, Brooke from "Jersey Shore`s" Snooki.

ANDERSON: Yes, A.J., Snooki says she battled not one but two eating disorders and almost died.

HAMMER: Yes. The princess of the Poughkeepsie tells "OK" magazine that while attending high school she had both anorexia and bulimia. In fact Snook`s says that she dropped to a dangerous 80 pounds. Some days she would eat only a cracker. Here is what she is telling "Ok".

"My best friend were worried, my family was worried. But with my personality I didn`t listen to anybody and I always did what I wanted. I had to talk to a doctor and he told me, `You know, you can actually die from this`."

Brooke, you know I`m never one to say that stars have an absolute responsibility to be role models but maybe, just maybe here is an opportunity for Snooki to do something responsible, speaking out about this because for better or worse there are a lot of people who like her and pay attention to her.

ANDERSON: Absolutely, it`s a golden opportunity for her. Because you know in the United States it is said that some 10 million females are struggling with eating disorders. And -- and you know I`m sure it was a very painful thing for Snooki, so I applaud her for being honest about something that -- that so many women can identify with.

HAMMER: Yes, she actually said something that could be useful --

ANDERSON: Right.

HAMMER: -- and I believe it may have been the first time.

You can read more in this week`s issue of "OK" magazine. There is the cover and you`ll find it on newsstands right now.

ANDERSON: All right. On Friday we asked you to vote in our "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Exclusive Poll". Just moments ago we did got those final results.

Leann Rimes` cheating confession, do you forgive her? Only 33 percent of you say yes. That means about two-thirds, of you know, a whopping 67 percent, don`t forgive Leann. Here are some of the e-mails we received.

Joanne from Pennsylvania writes "How can anyone possibly think that someone can break up a marriage? These marriages were broken to begin with. Leann has nothing to be forgiven for. Things happen. If the marriage was solid it would not have collapsed."

But Linda from California says, "Once a cheater, always a cheater. Leann if you got your new man by taking him from his wife what makes you think that won`t happen to you? Remember what goes around comes around."

We appreciate your e-mails and your Facebook posts. Please keep them coming.

HAMMER: You know, we give her credit for speaking out, talking so candidly about something, but there is quite a little backlash brewing against Leann Rimes right now.

ANDERSON: Yes absolutely.

HAMMER: For saying it all and putting it all out there.

Well, that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. We thank you for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is now live at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Monday through Friday.

HAMMER: And don`t forget, we are still TV`s most provocative entertainment news show seven days a week at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific. And of course that`s right here on HLN.
