HAMMER: Brooke Anderson with the incredible one-on-one exclusive right in Adrian`s limo only on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show starts right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City with big news breaking today.

Let`s try this again. Well, that`s what Lindsay Lohan is apparently saying today as she prepares for rehab again. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has learned that Lindsay has decided that maybe rehab can do her some good after all.

That`s after Lindsay, who is turning to the legal Houdini of jail and rehab stays, managed to get out of jail once again. And while I certainly don`t know what she had for breakfast this morning, it had to have been better than the breakfast she could have waking up to in jail.

There`s also a great debate about whether Lindsay should have been sent back to jail in the first place or whether once again this is a case of celebrity justice.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over): It`s the Lindsay Lohan sequel no one wanted to see. Lilo goes to rehab part five. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has learned that Lohan has decided to check into a substance abuse rehab program. And for those of you counting at home, it will be her fifth - yes, fifth - time in rehab.

CARLOS DIAZ, SYNDICATED RADIO HOST: We`ve seen this before. I mean, how many times is Lindsay Lohan going to go into rehab?

HAMMER: Sources are confirming today that Lindsay made the decision to become a rehab five-timer over the weekend after a judge briefly threw her in jail Friday for failing a court-ordered drug test. She got out later that same day after another judge allowed her to post $ 300,000 bail.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Lindsay Lohan was released from the L.A. County Jail.

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was there at the courthouse for all the pandemonium that surrounded Lohan`s court appearance Friday. Afterward, Lohan`s estranged father, Michael, insisted that rehab, not jail, was the place for Lindsay.

MICHAEL LOHAN, LINDSAY LOHAN`S FATHER: I`ve been asking Lindsay to go into a rehab all along. She should have never, ever, ever had to face jail time.

HAMMER: And so now, it looks like Lindsay is going the rehab route again.

DIAZ: Lindsay Lohan now says she`s going to rehab voluntarily before a judge says, "You have to go to rehab."

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Lindsay, how you doing?

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has obtained this video from "Hollywood.TV" of Lindsay, early this morning in Los Angeles, catching a pre-rehab movie. But SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that the Lilo goes to rehab movie is one that people are getting tired of seeing.

DIAZ: People are skeptical that this time won`t work because it`s never worked in the past.

HAMMER: In fact, Lohan`s previous attempts at rehab clearly showed that either they didn`t work or she didn`t take them very seriously.

Just a few months after her first rehab stay at the Wonderland Center in 2007, Lindsay was busted for DUI. And two weeks after her second rehab stay at Promises in Malibu, she was busted again for DUI.

JUDGE MARSHA REVEL, LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT: She`s ordered to do a 90- day inpatient substance abuse program.

HAMMER: In July, a judge sentenced Lohan to her fourth rehab stay in addition to 90 days jail. So much for that. Not only was Lohan let out of jail early after only 13 days, she also got an early excuse from court- ordered rehab after doing only 23 days. Less than a month later, she flunked that court-ordered drug test. Bring on rehab stay number five.

DIAZ: We`ve seen it before. She tells the people in rehab what they want to hear, and they buy her Oscar-worthy performance. And then, boom, she gets out and as we`ve seen, she`s right back on drugs.

HAMMER: Lindsay insists she gets it now. After flunking her drug test earlier this month, she tweeted, quote, "Substance abuse is a disease which unfortunately doesn`t go away overnight. I`m working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps."

But that`s sounds exactly like the other between-rehab statements Lindsay`s put out in the past. And unfortunately, the arrests and failed drug tests continue.

DIAZ: These little 30-day stints in rehab are helping no one. I mean, Lindsay needs to go away for a year, two years. She needs to get herself better.

HAMMER: Yes, it is clear that Lohan needs to do something differently because as it stands now, the only thing people really expect to come out of Lilo goes to rehab part five is a part six.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: Yes. Let`s all hope we don`t see Lilo goes to rehab part six. But you know, at this point, anything can happen. That leads to our "SHOWBIZ flashpoint," and here it is - Lindsay gets out of jail again. Is it a case of celebrity justice?

With me, in New York, the great Jane Velez-Mitchell, the host of "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL." You can catch it every night right here on HLN. She`s also the author of this great book, "I Want." Right now, in Hollywood, Bradford Cohen, who is an attorney.

So when Lindsay walked out of jail on Friday night, I could have sworn I heard the entire country shouting, "no" along with me because it seemed so outrageous. So Jane, to our "SHOWBIZ Flashpoint," is this a case of celebrity justice with Lindsay getting out of jail yet again?

JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HOST, "ISSUES WITH JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL": It is the ultimate case of Hollywood justice, A.J. It proves, unequivocally, that we have a two-tiered system of justice in this country, one for the rich, blond and famous and the other for everyone else.

This is a woman who has spit in the face of the criminal justice system, not once but repeatedly, blowing off important court dates, having F-U on her fingernails. Making up ridiculous excuses for why her SCRAM bracelet went off.

And finally, a judge says, "Hey, you`re going to jail." And she appeals and gets out after a few hours. It`s an obscenity.

HAMMER: Yes. And we`re all sitting here scratching our heads saying when is this going to end? Stop the insanity already. All right. Bradford, you`re an attorney. To the SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, is Lindsay, in your mind, getting out of jail again a case of celebrity justice?

BRADFORD COHEN, ATTORNEY: Absolutely not. In fact, the part that`s interesting is the celebrity justice is why she was put into jail in the first place. On misdemeanor violations of probations, many counties in California have a standard bond that`s set - that standard bond is somewhere between $10,000 and $20,000.

They can`t hold you on a misdemeanor violation of probation. And that`s why it was overturned by a subsequent judge.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: It should never have been a misdemeanor. She chased a woman into the Santa Monica police station who was so terrified she called 911.

COHEN: Well, that`s a whole other -

VELEZ-MITCHELL: It`s not a whole other thing -

COHEN: That`s a whole other story.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Because that`s what these celebrities do. They get everything, a plea deal down to a misdemeanor. And then, they say -

COHEN: Absolutely not.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Oh, we`re just being treated like everybody else.

COHEN: No. Absolutely not. In fact, I`ve represented celebrities before and you find the opposite of that. You find that they are treated more harshly than anybody else.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Absolute nonsense. There are people doing life for having a bag of crack.

COHEN: Absolutely not. This young lady would have been let out a longtime ago. She would not have gone to jail this time. She would have made out a bond right away. But this judge felt the pressure from everyone else that`s out there, said "Hold her, no bond. I`m in the going to hear anything from the attorneys," which was completely incorrect.

It was overruled. She had to file a writ of habeas corpus, which her attorney did an excellent job by filing a writ of habeas corpus immediately. And she was let out like anyone else would have been let out. She shouldn`t even have gone to jail in the first place.

HAMMER: Well, here`s the -

COHEN: Now, I`m not a big fan of -

HAMMER: Here`s the thing. Let`s break it down and move beyond that because celebrity justice or not, what everybody is now concerned about is what is the right place for her to be.

And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT learned that Lindsay does plan to check herself into rehab in a matter of days. I can tell you a lot of people agree that`s where she should have been in the first place.

What - you should see this record response we got to our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll. Just today, we asked - "Lindsay Lohan Sent Back to Jail: Should she have been sent to rehab instead?"

Put up the results. Here we go - 87 percent say yes, rehab was the place for her instead of jail. Only 13 percent thought that was the right place for her. I think that Lindsay choosing to check herself into rehab is absolutely a smart move, Jane. But is it going to keep her out of jail?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, I think we have to ask, A.J., why is she checking herself into rehab?

HAMMER: Well, that`s true.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Is she doing it because, oh, she`s got smart handlers who say, "Hey, you humiliated this judge who wanted to send you away. You`re going to see him on October 22nd. He`s going to be mad. He`s going to want to throw the book at you. Why don`t you do a preemptive check into rehab?"

It could be a totally cynical move. Remember, there are reports she was drinking Jack and cokes, even as she tweeted those remorseful tweets about, "Oh, I failed and it`s a disease." So she may be very cynical about this whole thing.

HAMMER: Yes. And hopefully, it is not a case of posturing and not a case of, "Yes, this is what I need to do in order to save myself from jail. But she actually recognizes "I need help" and she has said that before. But you have to go through that with it, Lindsay, and you`ve got to stay.

Got to end it there. Jane Velez-Mitchell, Bradford Cohen, I thank you both.

And now, I have to move on to Snooki`s ultimate scare? Yes, a disturbing report out there today that the "Jersey Shore" star was rushed to the hospital for alcohol poisoning.

Dancing with the Palins. Why does Bristol Palin bring her "Dancing with the Stars" partner to Alaska to meet her mom? What`s going on there. You betcha. We`re checking on this today.

Also, our exclusive ride along with "Entourage`s" Adrian Grenier. Adrian revealing how his brand-new documentary could actually help explain Paris Hilton`s and Lindsay Lohan`s recent nightmares.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BROOKE ANDERSON, CO-HOST: They`re both struggling personally and legally in the public eye. And do you think the paparazzi have made an impact on their lives and their issues that they have?

ADRIAN GRENIER, ACTOR: Yes, of course, on some level.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Brooke Anderson with absolutely amazing exclusive access to Adrian. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GLORIA STUART, ACTRESS: It`s been 84 years and I can still smell the fresh paint.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Some sad news today. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has confirmed that Gloria Stuart has died. She played old Rose in "Titanic." And wow, was she greatness or what? And when she was nominated for an Oscar for that role, Gloria was 87, at the time the oldest person ever to be nominated.

Gloria Stuart was 100 years old when she died. She was reportedly battling lung cancer.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

And now, a SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive, pop go the paparazzi. I`m a big fan of HBO`s "Entourage." Adrian Grenier plays Vinnie(ph) Chase, of course.

And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Brooke Anderson just got to join Adrian`s entourage for an amazing exclusive ride-along in a limo to the premiere of Adrian`s new movie. Now, Adrian directed a great new documentary about an aggressive teenage paparazzo who Adrian met when the kid was just 13 years old.

So you think these two would be in some kind of a constant tug-of-war, right? Well, amazingly, they actually became good friends.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

GRENIER: I got what the paparazzi call "sprayed" by 10 or 15 flash shots by the kid.

ANDERSON (voice-over): Austin Visschedyk was just 13 years old when Adrian Grenier, star of HBO`s hit show, "Entourage" was blinded by camera flashes. Austin was among a gang of paparazzi aggressively photographing Adrian, who tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT he was blown away to get.

To get a feel of what that was like, I became Adrian`s entourage, riding exclusively with him in a limo to the premiere of his new documentary, 45 minutes of exclusive face time with the star. This access the paparazzi would kill for. Adrian describes the moment that sparked his documentary.

GRENIER: And it just hit me. I said, "Oh, wow. This kid - he is a symptom of what`s happening in our culture with technology taking over and all of us taking pictures and taking pictures and taking pictures. And I just - I had to know more.

ANDERSON: So to learn more, Adrian befriended Austin going behind the cameras to produce, write and direct the HBO documentary "Teenage Paparazzo," exploring Austin passion for all things paparazzi and his infatuation with fame.

(on camera): What does it say about our culture?

GRENIER: Well, I think, in a lot of ways, celebrities represent the American dream. We`re perceived to have more money. And that`s often true but not always. We`re perceived to have more fun and be able to indulge without consequences, although that`s not true.

ANDERSON (voice-over): In "Teenage Paparazzo," Adrian shows what is true for celebrities targeted by the paparazzi - no privacy and no sympathy from photographers who go to dangerous lengths for that perfect picture.

AUSTIN VISSCHEDYK, TEENAGE PAPARAZZO: They`ll run you over.

ANDERSON: Did you ever, in your observations, think this guy is in danger. This kid is out dodging cars trying not to get run over just to get one stupid shot at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning?

GRENIER: Absolutely. And as I got closer to him, as I got to know him, I, too, felt responsible. You`ve got to get a better camera than that.

ANDERSON: Have you ever felt super-uncomfortable like you couldn`t control the situation and you were fearful?

GRENIER: I don`t get it as bad as Paris or Britney. Lindsay Lohan gets it as well.

ANDERSON: Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton are interviewed in the film. And while they, at times, complain about the paparazzi, they admit that captured images fuel their careers and the public interest.

(on camera): They`re both struggling personally and legally in the public eye. Do you think the paparazzi has -

GRENIER: Quick timing, right?

ANDERSON: Yes, exactly. And do you think the paparazzi have made an impact on their lives and their issues that they have?

GRENIER: Yes, of course, on some level. I`ve always - I`ve always really respected Paris and curious about her use of the media. And you know, I`ve always seen her as sort of this modern sort of meta-pop artist, where her canvas is the tabloids.

ANDERSON (voice-over): These days, Adrian`s life often imitates art. So what`s real? Adrian revealed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT what`s behind the celebrity facade.

GRENIER: And by the way I don`t ride in limos.

ANDERSON (on camera): It`s so very hard to keep up.

GRENIER: I don`t ride in limos.

ANDERSON: Nor do I.

GRENIER: No, we don`t ride in limos. This is -

ANDERSON: What are we doing?

GRENIER: What is it that we want? Why is it - I don`t even like riding in limos. I usually get nauseous.

ANDERSON: But thankfully, not this time.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: That wasn`t ugly, huh? We`ve got some great access there. And "Teenage Paparazzo," which took Adrian three years to make, by the way - it premieres today on HBO. Check your local listings. Or you can also check it out on HBO on Demand through next (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

Kirstie`s weight has gone up and down. She admits to having tipped the scales at 230 pounds at one point. Kirstie stars in the A & E reality show called "Big Life" about her battle with weight. I`m thinking now maybe she should change the show title to "Not So Big Life." Good for her.

A lot of calls coming into the "Showbiz on Call" today. So many of you are fired up about Lindsay Lohan. Now, Barbara from Arkansas is just furious that one L.A. judge overturned another and allowed Lindsay to post bail and get out of jail after she was sentenced to 30 days behind bars.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

BARBARA, CALLER FROM ARKANSAS: I want to send my sincere apologies to Judge Fox who did the right thing. Finally, a judge who did the right thing, only to have another judge, one of his peers, come and say he did the wrong thing and let this girl go.

I just don`t understand it. If I was Judge Fox, I would tell him to meet me outside, robes off and fists up, because that`s just an insult.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

HAMMER: Thank you for your call, Barbara. Time now to move on to SHOWBIZ lineup. Here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City with big news breaking today - Snooki in danger?

Yes. A bombshell report reveals today that Jersey Shore star, Snooki, a.k.a. Nicole Polizzi, was rushed to the hospital to have her stomach pumped because of alcohol poisoning.

And apparently, the whole ordeal went down during a taping of her MTV reality show. Now, the supposed Snooki stomach pumping incident was not included in the latest season of "Jersey Shore."

But I can tell you there is growing outrage today over whether or not the whole thing is just kind of being swept under the rug.

With me, right now, from Hollywood, Maria Menounos who is a special correspondent for "Access Hollywood."

So SHOWBIZ TONIGHT did reach out to MTV today about this report. They responded with a quick "no comment." And they`re not going to be issuing any statement on this. I`ve got to say if the report of the alcohol poisoning is true and it wasn`t put on the show, I think it`s a shame and a real missed opportunity.

Because you know, instead of showing all of the fun that Snooki`s having while she`s getting wasted, it really could have been a constructive moment to show the consequences when you drink that much. Don`t you think so, Maria?

MARIA MENOUNOS, SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT, "ACCESS HOLLYWOOD": A constructive moment and as a fan of the show, a really fun episode to watch.

HAMMER: That`s it.

MENOUNOS: I mean, not that I`m promoting drinking or thinking it`s funny that she went to the hospital. But you know, the show is about them having good time in these random cities.

So I think what really might have happened here, A.J., is that the show is up 30 percent in ratings. It`s a huge ratings hit for MTV. And I think this is one of those situations where Snooki and her management or agents or whatever probably discussed with them and said, "Listen, we don`t want this to make air."

And if there is really a drinking problem that they need to attack and discuss, they`re probably doing it behind closed doors because they want Snooki back for another season.

HAMMER: They do. I just, you know - I don`t know. To me, there`s a line of responsibility at some point. And if these things are going on. And it is reality TV. Well, we all know what the reality of that is, I guess. Maybe they should think to show these things in the future.

If it did happen during the taping of the show and this is back in May, it means that Snooki`s drunken escapade on the beach in New Jersey back in July that got her arrested really should have been a clear warning to everyone that Snooki has a big problem.

I want to bring in Brotha Fred. Brotha Fred is the co-host of "Fox News Edge" on WCCB-TV.

Brotha Fred, it seems to me somebody should be getting Snooki some help and I`m talking about the drinking here and not for the hair and the other obvious issues she may have.

BROTHA FRED, CO-HOST, FOX NEWS EDGE, WCCB-TV: Well, she needs help there, too. But I don`t know that I think that "moderation" is in Snooki`s vocabulary. And what it comes down to is that all these people who are competing for the face time.

This is a short-lived opportunity. The Situation making all of this money with ads and with "Dancing with the Stars" and whatever. I often wonder if she`s maybe not doing this to bring the camera to her such that she can be the star.

HAMMER: Yes.

BROTHA FRED: And take advantage of the monetary opportunities.

HAMMER: Well, that is exactly what goes on, on this show. And look, they are the breakout star - The Situation and Snooki.

And remember, when she was arrested back in July, she got plenty of attention then. She was charged with disorderly conduct. My favorite - she was charged with annoying people on the beach, basically for being a pest.

Earlier this month, the judge in her case slapped her with a fine. It was $500. He ordered her to perform community service. And my favorite part of the whole sentencing, he slammed her for being rude and obnoxious and called her a Lindsay Lohan wannabe.

Well, Snooki just gave a brand-new interview to Jimmy Kimmel. And she reveals that she thinks her being arrested for annoying people was just too much. But then, watch what she revealed next.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

NICOLE "SNOOKI" POLIZZI, REALITY TV STAR, "JERSEY SHORE": I think it was a little too overboard. Obviously, I started drinking at like 10:00 and it escalated to being wasted like 12:00, and that`s why I got arrested. But I had a good time doing it.

JIMMY KIMMEL, HOST, "JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE": Yes. Sure. Of course.

POLIZZI: I didn`t hurt anybody. So -

KIMMEL: What were you drinking that night?

POLIZZI: I was drinking So-Co, vodka, Jager, Long Island, beer -

KIMMEL: This is between 10 a.m. and noon?

POLIZZI: Yes. I started drinking at work. I was funneling and then I went to the bar.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. To my point about needing help, drinking at 10:00, wasted at 12:00. But you heard everybody laughing there. Snooki was confessing she was drunk as a skunk.

But Maria, honestly, and to be serious here for a moment, had we known about her stomach reportedly pumped back in May, I don`t think this would have been so funny.

MENOUNOS: Well, I kind of feel like this is like their college-like days. I don`t know. I don`t feel like Snooki - I don`t know. It`s hard to say. It`s hard to say. I don`t know her well enough.

But I definitely don`t think she`s trying to get camera time because without Snooki, there`s no "Jersey Shore." So I think that she`s smart enough to know that. And I think that these guy are - what`s great about their show is that it is real and they really are just having a good time.

And so, I don`t think it`s about camera time. I think that, you know, she obviously had a little too much fun. She`s done it before and there may be a problem there. But I don`t think MTV would be irresponsible in that way.

(CROSS TALK)

HAMMER: Maria, "I started drinking at 10:00. I was wasted at 12:00." I think there`s a problem there.

MENOUNOS: She was kidding, wasn`t she? Please tell me she was kidding.

HAMMER: I don`t know if she was. But let`s move now -

MENOUNOS: I thought she was kidding. It`s Jimmy Kimmel so I`m assuming that`s a joke.

HAMMER: OK. Let`s go to a different set of tracks from one train wreck to another then and talk about Nadya Suleman for a moment.

Of course, she`s famously known as the Octomom. She`s probably not laughing right now because times are clearly tough today. She`s a mom of 14, as we all know, and she had a gigantic yard sale at her house over the weekend so she could pay her mortgage.

Here is what you could have bought had you shown up at this yard sale. Devil costumes worn by her kids on Halloween. Those were going for $50 each. You could have had yourself a Lakers Jersey autographed by the Octomom herself. A Lakers Jersey autographed by Octomom. I just had to say that again. $125 for that puppy. For $100, you could take a picture of Octomom, posing with her octuplets.

Brotha Fred, to you - isn`t this sad? I mean, it`s not like even selling those few items is going to pay her mortgage. I feel terrible for her kids here.

BROTHA FRED: Well, I don`t want to get too close to her because I`m afraid I might accidentally impregnate her, so I`m scared by that. And is anyone surprised though that she`s in this position?

I mean, really - eight kids, no one to help her. No one to - I mean, it`s an irresponsible situation to begin with. And if she`s looking for a sugar daddy or someone to bail her out - no, it`s not going to happen.

HAMMER: No. And it`s not going to be you, apparently, Brotha Fred because you don`t want to get that close.

BROTHA FRED: No. No.

HAMMER: Well, the Octomom may have been selling her personal belongings including all of these clothes. But there`s one thing that she won`t be doing for money and that`s taking her clothes off, thank goodness. She told "Radar Online" in a brand-new interview revealed today this -

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

NADYA SULEMAN, "OCTUMOM": I would never do anything inappropriate in regard to sex because that haunts your children for the rest of their lives. As parents, we have to be very mindful of all of our choices knowing that it`s going to haunt our kids forever.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, thank goodness Octomom has that perspective. And her latest comments come after she turned down $100,000 to appear in a porn movie.

I have to get to more big news breaking in "The Buzz" today. Demi Moore settles her lawsuit against an Australian magazine over some unauthorized photos. Paris Hilton settles her lawsuit with a greeting card company. Apparently, what they did was not so hot. And David Beckham suing a magazine over a report he had sex with prostitutes.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over): David Beckham has just filed a lawsuit over a report he had sex with prostitutes. Beckham is suing over an "In Touch Weekly" report that he had sex one prostitute five times and sex with another. HAMMER: And maybe that should put anybody spreading rumors about her and her husband, Ashton Kutcher, right now on notice. They will come after you. Maria Menounos, Brotha Fred. I want to thank you both for being with us.

Well, Bristol Palin has really shocked me with "Dancing with the Stars." She`s pretty good at it. And there is a new Palin shocker today. Bristol brings her dancing partner home to Alaska to meet her mom, Sarah Palin. Why in the world would she do that?

Mariah Carey wipes out on stage and it`s all caught on tape. But that`s not where the story ends. It`s where the diva story begins. Mariah gets all diva-like right in the middle of a concert.

Katy Perry`s stunning response to getting yanked off of "Sesame Street." I can tell you this - Katy definitely has something she wants to get off her chest.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Maureen(ph), what the hell happened to your shirt?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It looks like today`s show is brought to you by the number 38 and the letter double D.

HAMMER: Bristol Palin is strutting herself again this week on "Dancing with the Stars" with her partner, Mark Ballas. But today, the big question is, why would Bristol`s dancing partner go home to Alaska to meet Bristol`s parents?

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

Bristol Palin is hanging in there today in week number two of competition on "Dancing with the Stars." And imagine our surprise when SHOWBIZ TONIGHT got the news today that Bristol`s dancing partner, Mark Ballas, actually went to Wasilla, Alaska to meet the parents and the whole Palin family, including of course Bristol`s mom, Sarah.

With me, in New York, entertainment journalist, Ben Widdicombe. And right now, in Hollywood, Ashland Gorse. She is a correspondent of "E! News."

So some people were obviously wondering, hey, you know, what the heck is going on here when Bristol Palin took her partner Mark to Alaska? And he snapped a picture. Look at this. There`s mom and Mark. Is this a sign of budding romance?

Well, no. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT has actually learned that Bristol and Mark were there to shoot a segment for "Dancing with the Stars." Now, we obviously know about Sarah Palin`s political influence, all of her clout.

Ben, a lot of people obviously like her. So I`m thinking this could actually bleed over into the voting for Bristol and have a big impact on her success on the show.

BEN WIDDICOMBE, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST: Look, I think anything that adds to the interest of Bristol is going to help her with the voters. And I think that one of the great things that people enjoy about "Dancing with the Stars" is all the politicking that goes on behind the scenes.

People enjoy seeing the partners hanging out when they`re not on the show. And of course, there`s always that implication that maybe there`s a romance that people love to talk about.

HAMMER: Yes -

WIDDICOMBE: I think it`s very smart.

HAMMER: Yes, because - let`s face it - and I have nothing against Bristol Palin. But she, as a personality, is nothing particularly interesting. It`s really the story this surrounds her more than anything else.

And as you point out, Bristol`s dancing partner, Mark, is also writing this behind-the-scenes column for "USA Today." In his brand-new column, I want to tell you what Mark wrote about this trip to Alaska and meeting the Palin family.

He wrote, "When we landed, I got to meet Bristol`s family and I found them to be extremely nice, kind, loving and super sweet. And Mama Palin sure is proud of her hard-working daughter."

Well, Ashland, I`m thinking the support of Mama Palin is going to help keep Bristol in this competition for weeks to come. Are you with me on that?

ASHLAND GORSE, CORRESPONDENT, "E! NEWS": I mean, if you`re not really a good dancer, you kind of have to pull out all the stops.

HAMMER: Yes.

GORSE: If your mom is a household name, go for it. Milk it. Work it. I mean, I don`t if she`ll really win the votes maybe in L.A. But she`ll probably win them in other parts of the country. So I say just go for it.

HAMMER: Yes. It can only help, I mean, really.

GORSE: Yes.

HAMMER: Well, another story that`s making big news today has to do with that show`s "Dancing with the Stars" biggest competitor on television. That, of course, is "American Idol."

But today there`s a big "SNL" diss of "Idol" and its new panel of judges. And this appeared on the season premiere of "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend. You`ve got to watch how the new judge news was reported during the weekend update part of the show. Let`s roll that.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It was announced Wednesday that the new judges for this season`s "American Idol" will be Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, otherwise known as coffin nails one, two and three.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Now, Ben, obviously, "Saturday Night Live" will have fun at anybody`s expense and for any reason at all. But I`m thinking, really, when you sort of step back from that, not such great news that it`s already the butt of such jokes and the show is not even on the air yet.

WIDDICOMBE: Well, I think they`re being a little mean. This is, after all, one of the most successful shows on television. Perhaps it`s a little unusual they cast such two similar people as the two new judges.

I mean, both Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez seem to feel they kind of have a showbiz-y role to pull ahead. So I`m surprised they cast them together. I don`t know. I`m willing to wait and see.

HAMMER: And you know they`re already very busy back in this "SNL" casting department trying to figure out who is it going to be, who is going to be playing Steven Tyler, who is going to be playing Jennifer Lopez. Oh, they`re going to have fun with that, aren`t they?

All right. Also making big news on "Saturday Night Live," musical guest, Katy Perry, who made fun of the big controversy over her getting kicked off of "Sesame Street" after parents complained that her music video with Elmo had her showing way too much cleavage. Let`s take a look at this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Looks like today`s show is brought to you by the number 38 and the letter double D.

KATY PERRY, SINGER: Well, I guess I developed over the summer.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You guess? Look at Elmo. His head is all stretched out.

PERRY: It is?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I`ve got to say, it`s pretty funny. All right. Ashland, Katy took the high road initially by releasing what I thought was a really nice statement after getting kicked off of "Sesame Street." But here, it seems that she thinks it was absolutely ridiculous.

GORSE: I mean, at the end of the day, she`s just making fun of herself. And you know, I mean, her wardrobe was a little risque. But I feel like somebody at "Sesame Street" should have told her that they didn`t like her top so she could have changed it. But I mean, let`s be honest, boobs sell, maybe not just for "Sesame Street."

HAMMER: Yes. I don`t think that`s exactly the place, you know, to flaunt that. Now, Ben, Elmo said on "Good Morning America," of all places, Elmo spoke out and said, "I`d love to have another play date with Katy Perry." But now, I`m thinking, oh, maybe they`re not going to be so interested after seeing that.

WIDDICOMBE: Well, I think Elmo has a sense of humor. And I think Katy is handling it like a pro. I think she hit it just right to make fun of the whole situation. And I think it`s a win-win for both of them, honestly.

HAMMER: All right. Perfect. Thank you very much. Ben Widdicombe, Ashland Gorse, I appreciate you being here.

Katy Perry obviously a stunning young woman. But as mature women go, Helen Mirren - she`s got one of the best bodies in Hollywood. I`m not kidding you.

Today, Helen says she has strippers to thank for her sexy look. In a brand-new interview with U.K.`s "Women and Home" magazine, the Oscar winner says if you want sexy legs, shop where the strippers shop.

You`ve got to listen to what she tells them, "Four-inch platforms give you great height and make your legs look unbelievably long. I used only to be able to get them in stripper shops, but now you can buy them everywhere."

Hey, platform shoes. Not just for pole dancing anymore.

All right. Let`s move on now from the queen and her stripper heels to a pop diva`s stiletto stumble on stage. Mariah Carey bites the dust.

(MUSIC)

It`s Mariah Carey`s big flop during a concert. But of course, the show must go on, right? Wait until you see what Mariah Carey did next. Hey, they don`t call her a diva for nothing. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Here comes the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

MICHAEL DOUGLAS, ACTOR (as Gordon Gekko): Easy as selling crack to kids in a school playground.

SHIA LABEOUF, ACTOR (as Jake Moore): Credit default swap is a good idea. It`s the execution that isn`t.

DOUGLAS: Well, you know what they say. Bulls make money. Bears make money. The pigs, they get slaughtered.

HAMMER: Did you see this? Mariah Carey takes a tumble on stage. You know, that happens sometimes. But wait until you see Mariah totally diva out after her fall. Mariah, obviously, is a huge star and she really tries to handle herself with grace.

So during a concert in Singapore this weekend, I bet fans were shocked to see Mariah falling on stage, but maybe not surprised to see Mariah unleash her inner diva. She had her assistant come out to take off her heels.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: They did make it happen, didn`t they? Got to hand it to Mariah. Kept on singing through the whole thing. The show must go on.

OK. Friday, before Lindsay Lohan`s release from jail, we asked you to vote in our exclusive poll. Lindsay Lohan Sent Back to Jail: Should she have been sent to rehab instead?"

And as you know, Lindsay posted bail and is planning to go to rehab on her own again. Look at these results just in today. People think that Lindsay should have gone to rehab in the first place, 87 percent of you saying that. Thirteen percent not.

But surprisingly all of the E-mails we got said the opposite. Here`s one. This is Jean from Illinois, Jean writing, "Rehab didn`t help the last time. She thinks if she does I think, she won`t got she won`t go to jail."

This one from Melinda from New Jersey, "Lindsay violated her parole. She should go back to jail."

And for the first time today, Lindsay Lohan`s lawyer reveals exclusive details on exactly what it`s like working with Lilo. She`s speaking out in a fascinating new series on "CNN.com`s" "Justice" page. It`s called "Lawyers to the Stars."

Shawn Chapman Holley says it is far from easy working with the troubled starlets. Still, Chapman Holley is really arguably the most important person in Lindsay`s life right now. What`s it like being an attorney to such an A-list client?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SHAWN CHAPMAN HOLLEY, LINDSAY LOHAN`S ATTORNEY: I resigned briefly from helping Lindsay Lohan. But there was a need for me to return. She`s tough and she`s tough on the people around her.

And so when you`re, you know, working with her and for her and she`s tough on you, you can get (UNINTELLIGIBLE). But I respect her and I admire her.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, I will admire her if she is taking herself back into rehab for all the right reasons and not just to stay out of jail. For more on this fascinating series, "Lawyers to the Stars," you`ve got to check out "CNN.com/Justice." It is a terrific series.

Thank you very much for watching. That is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. And SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is live at 5:00 p.m. Eastern. That`s Monday through Friday.
