(MUSIC PLAYING)

HAMMER: Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

BROOKE ANDERSON, CO-HOST: Hi, there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today -- shocking star splits.

HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. I`m thinking there must be something in the water today in Hollywood because, not one, but two huge star couples, who, quite frankly, a lot of people really thought would make it for the long haul, are calling it quits today.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette confirmed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that they are separated. And today, Christina Aguilera and her music executive husband Jordan Bratman also confirmed to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT that they are breaking up.

And now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can reveal the real story behind Arquette and Cox`s breakup. David Arquette even went on live radio to set the record straight. And let me tell you, he didn`t hold back at all.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

DAVID ARQUETTE, ACTOR: Listen, we`re best friends. She`s the greatest woman I`ve ever met.

HAMMER (voice-over): If you thought "Cougar Town" star Courteney Cox and her husband of 11 years, David Arquette, announcing their separation was shocking enough, wait until you hear what David Arquette`s saying today.

ARQUETTE: I`m doing OK. It`s (EXPLETIVE DELETED) up, man.

HOWARD STERN, RADIO TALK SHOW HOST: Yes.

ARQUETTE: Breaks my heart.

HAMMER: Arquette called into Howard Stern`s XM Satellite radio show this morning. And to say he spilled all the intimate dirty details about his and Courtney`s split would be as big an understatement as saying "Friends" was just a TV show.

ARQUETTE: Everybody`s so full of (EXPLETIVE DELETED). I can`t stand it.

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you David Arquette spilled everything, including who wanted the separation. Here`s a hint -- he says it wasn`t him.

ARQUETTE: She said to me, "I don`t want to be your mother anymore."

HAMMER: He spilled about their sex life.

ARQUETTE: My sex with Courteney is kind of a -- you know, it`s scheduled to a certain degree.

HAMMER: And lack thereof.

ARQUETTE: We`re not having sex, and I completely understand.

HAMMER: And he reveals to Stern if there`s any chance of this star couple working things out.

STERN: You`re not going to do anything like beg Courtney to get back with you, though, are you?

ARQUETTE: I`ve been begging Courtney to get back with me.

STERN: Wow.

ARQUETTE: And you know, she`s conflicted, too.

NINA PARKER, PRODUCER, TMZ: He kind of laid it all out on the line. It definitely seemed like he had a lot on his plate. His heart was heavy.

HAMMER: Even though announced their separation yesterday, Arquette revealed today that he and Cox had been separated for some time. And in today`s interview with Howard Stern, Arquette revealed a sad irony that the couple who met 14 years ago while filming the movie "Scream" together actually ran into trouble when they were doing "Scream 4" this summer.

ARQUETTE: We got to do "Scream 4."

STERN: Right.

ARQUETTE: And I`m feeling distance obviously from my wife. We have not had sex in quite a -- like, at that time, a month or so. Since then, it`s been like four months or so.

HAMMER: Arquette revealed today that Cox, who is seven years older and has a much more mature rep than her husband, told him she`s tired of being the grown up in the relationship.

ARQUETTE: When I met her --

STERN: That was charming.

ARQUETTE: Sixteen years ago, that was charming, part of the aspect she fell in love with me then. Then, stuff starts getting old.

PARKER: He says he changed a lot during the relationship to be more of a quiet person, to be more reserved like her. And you know, apparently, it was a little stifling for him and she obviously knew that as well.

HAMMER: This morning, Arquette insisted to Stern in very colorful terms that he never cheated on Cox.

ARQUETTE: I spent 11 years of my marriage, the most faithful man in the whole (EXPLETIVE DELETED) world.

HAMMER: And what about all those reports linking Cox to her co-star on "Cougar Town" Brian Van Holt? Arquette revealed today that he asked his wife about those rumors, too.

ARQUETTE: She denied it.

STERN: She did?

ARQUETTE: Yes.

STERN: And you believe her?

ARQUETTE: I do believe her.

HAMMER: But while he says there was no cheating, Arquette reveals today that when he and Cox discussed separation, she told him to see other people.

ARQUETTE: She`s like, listen, I want you to be able to, you know, do whatever you have to do, you know, essentially, be free to see people.

HAMMER: But Arquette says his heart remains with his wife.

ARQUETTE: If I`m not the right guy in the world for her, please, go find him. I want her to be happy more that I know want happiness for myself.

HAMMER: But what remains to be seen is if this long-time Hollywood couple can be happy together, especially now that Arquette has shared their most intimate secrets with the world.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: There`s no doubt David Arquette is really hurting. You could hear it in his voice and he really wants to try to separate fact from fiction. I can`t blame him for that one bit.

But there are some today saying that David might have revealed too much. That brings us to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint -- was it a bad idea for David Arquette to be so open?

Joining me right now from Boston, Steve Santagati, the author of "The Manual." Also right now from Hollywood is Wendy Walsh who is a relationship expert and author of the book, "The Boyfriend Test" and "The Girlfriend Test."

So some people are saying that David Arquette might have said too much on Howard Stern`s radio show today. I think David was really upset. He was trying his best to set the record straight about all of the rumors floating around out there about his relationship with Courteney Cox.

And that was a good idea, in my mind, but he didn`t stop there. So Steve, to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, was it a bad idea for David Arquette to be so open?

STEVE SANTAGATI, AUTHOR, "THE MANUAL": You know, when I first talked to one of your producers earlier, I was thinking, yes, it was a really bad idea. But now I`m thinking that he and Courteney are probably very, very private and he knows that this might burn the bridge.

Sometimes you`re like, "Well, look, she broke up with me. I`m really hurt." He didn`t give himself any time for clarity. So he`s like, "You know what? The heck with it, I`m just going to blow the whole thing up." Because the worst thing he could do is open his big, fat mouth publicly.

HAMMER: Yes. But the thing is you really get the sense that he wishes this wasn`t happening, that they were going to stay together.

SANTAGATI: Yes.

HAMMER: And the bottom line is Courteney and David were very open about the fact that they`d been going to counseling. And they issued -- Steve, they issued a very honest statement yesterday about their separation and how they`re trying to work things out.

Some people are saying that David didn`t need to call in to Howard Stern at all today. Again, I think he did as far as putting the facts out there. Let me ask you, Wendy, to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, was it a bad idea, in your mind, for David to be so open?

WENDY WALSH, RELATIONSHIP EXPERT: Absolutely. It was boundary-less. They`re raising a child together. And incidentally, news flash to David Arquette, long time married people with smart children often don`t have sex for a month or more. I`m sorry, but other things replace that.

SANTAGATI: I`m never getting married. That settles that.

HAMMER: Look, I`ve always liked David a lot.

SANTAGATI: Right.

HAMMER: He`s always been very candid. He`s been on "Howard" plenty of times and they have this great relationship. And I was really struck by how torn up that David seemed to be about this whole ordeal, talking about how much he still loves Courteney, how he hopes -- he thinks that they -- he hopes they`ll make it through this whole ordeal. Listen to what he said about that.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

ARQUETTE: We`re separated right now. We`re not divorcing. We`re figuring our lives out.

STERN: I don`t think you`ll come from this.

ARQUETTE: Hopefully, we can work it all out. You don`t see high hopes for us?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I have my fingers crossed for you.

STERN: Yes, I don`t think it`s going to happen.

(CROSS TALK)

My guess is Courteney`s out the door already like she`s emotionally with some guy. I don`t like the sound of this, but, you know, Dave is going to be just fine.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Rooting for him. And Steve, this is kind of to your point. I`m guessing you don`t think their marriage can survive the separation, particularly now that he`s gone out there and said all of this.

SANTAGATI: No. For starters, you don`t take relationship advice from Howard Stern, but -- for obvious reasons. But --

HAMMER: No, Steve -- wait. Hold on, Steve. I`m just going to come to Howard`s defense for a moment. He has a very successful marriage with his long-time partner Beth at this point in his life now.

SANTAGATI: Right. Great.

HAMMER: I don`t know that you can necessarily say that, but continue.

SANTAGATI: All right. Great defending him. But here`s the thing. You know, Courteney said allegedly to David, you know, "Go out and date other people if that`s what you need to do." That`s a woman that`s very removed.

And also, David`s really upset. He doesn`t know what to do, and that`s why he comes to Howard Stern. But he should always handle this personally, forget that he`s a celebrity, forget how rich he is.

You deal with the woman. And he shouldn`t be trying to get her back. He should have done this while he was in the relationship.

WALSH: Absolutely.

SANTAGATI: That`s the time to cement things.

HAMMER: All right --

SANTAGATI: But we don`t know if Courteney was that either.

WALSH: Keep it private.

HAMMER: Well, here`s the thing. That`s not all he was saying. In fact, Brooke, David dropped a few more bombshells about his sex life.

ANDERSON: Yes. Yes.

HAMMER: Plus, David gave a shocking confession about those reports of a fling with a mysterious bartender.

ANDERSON: I was stunned, A.J., at just how much David Arquette was revealing. I`ve been about to jump out of my seat as you guys have been talking about all of this. But we`re going to have to dig in to more of that in just a moment, because, first, David and Courteney are not the only big breakup revelation making big news today.

There are brand-new reports today that Christina Aguilera and her music producer husband, Jordan Bratman, have split. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can now confirm that Christina and her husband have separated.

Late today, Christina told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, quote, "Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son, Max, remains as strong as ever."

And then, we hear these "People.com" reports that the couple are just trying to figure things out. They`re not talking about divorce yet. But Wendy, very quickly, what`s the deal with Hollywood splits this week?

WALSH: You know, divorce is contagious among peer groups, among social structures. They can be six or seven degrees of separation away, because all of a sudden, the cultural norm changes. Well, the cultural norm for divorce has always been huge in Hollywood anyway.

ANDERSON: Yikes, I don`t like to hear this.

WALSH: We`re talking about narcissists (INAUDIBLE) in relationships.

ANDERSON: Everybody, protect your marriages. Steve Santagati, Wendy Walsh, thank you both.

HAMMER: All right. Moving on, Kim Kardashian`s naked ambition today. Kim`s had no problem posing in a brand-new steamy, all-new photo shoot. But she complained after posing for "Playboy." She complained after her sex tape got out. Why all of a sudden is she OK with baring it all? I don`t get it. Is Kim a total hypocrite?

Plus, do we have a retirement situation in our hands?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You said you were contemplating retiring from reality TV.

MIKE "THE SITUATION" SORRENTINO: Yes, I did say that.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Say it isn`t so. Is The Situation leaving "Jersey Shore"? Is he really picking up the laundry and hitting the Jersey turnpike?

Favre fallout today. Brett Favre`s brand-new reported tearful apology. Is he finally speaking out about the claims that he sexted a reporter and even sent her naked pictures? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Here comes the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" -- more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Levi Johnston to appear on "The View" October 18th. Eminem, Lady Antebellum lead American Music Award nominations.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood, A.J. Hammer in New York. And there is brand-new Brett Favre fallout today.

HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. Favre is really feeling the heat today over the sexting scandal involving a former sideline reporter for the New York Jets. And now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you Brett reportedly apologized to his teammates, but he didn`t actually admit to doing anything wrong. So is it time for Favre to stop playing games and just set the record straight?

With me, in New York, Midwin Charles. She is a legal contributor for "In Session" for Tru TV.

So the commotion around Brett Favre started when all these reports surfaced that Favre allegedly left these racy voicemail messages and sent X-rated texts to former Jets sideline reporter, Jennifer Sterger.

Now, Favre reportedly made a tearful apology to his Minnesota teammates last night before the team took on the New York Jets. He said was sorry for being what he called a distraction. Those are the reports.

Well, his team lost the game. And during a post-game press conference, Favre would not address the scandal at all. Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Is the allegation about you true or false?

BRETT FAVRE, PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL PLAYER: If you want to talk about what happened in the football game tonight, I`d love to. As I said, talk about Randy Moss` touchdown catch.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. Obviously, Brett doesn`t want to talk about the controversy at all. But Midwin, I don`t really think these questions are going to go away until he sets the record straight on what did or did not happen.

MIDWIN CHARLES, CONTRIBUTOR, "IN SESSION" ON TRU TV: You know, you`re right. They`re not going to go away until he says something. But as you know, A.J., I am not a fan of the stars or athletes running to the podium and having a press conference simply because someone makes allegations against them.

HAMMER: It actually could cause him legal trouble, couldn`t it?

CHARLES: Yes.

HAMMER: Let`s say it is true, if he were to cop to it to the public and say, "Yes, I did it," but then, he`s setting himself up for a whole legal mess, isn`t he?

CHARLES: Exactly. And I never want to do that. I understand how, from a public relations perspective, someone might think, "You know what? You ought to just say something." But as an attorney, I say no.

HAMMER: Now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was there on the set of "Dancing with the Stars" last night. We asked "Dancing" competitor and former NFL quarterback, Kurt Warner, what he thought about the Favre scandal. Watch what he told us.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KURT WARNER, FORMER NFL QUARTERBACK: I`m not here to pass judgment. We all make mistakes, you know, if Brett made one. You know, there are certain guys that are role models. And you love to see them hold that stature and, you know, be someone that people can look up to. And so, I really hope that this whole thing gets sorted out and it`s not true.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. I mean, Favre certainly is legend. And a lot of people think he`s a role model. And he`s a future Hall of Famer. I don`t see how this can`t overshadow his legacy though.

CHARLES: Only if it turns this is not his stuff in the photographs.

HAMMER: Yes.

CHARLES: Only if it turns out that these voicemails are not him, and then, he`ll be vindicated.

HAMMER: But if he doesn`t come forward and say, "This is not my stuff," then we`ll never know and it`s always out there. Midwin Charles, thanks so much.

ANDERSON: Like so many people today, I`m completely shocked by Courteney Cox and David Arquette splitting up. And usually, breakups don`t surprise me, but this one did. And David is already speaking out today. David reveals he`s who moved on and has already been with another woman.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

ARQUETTE: I had sex with a girl once.

STERN: This girl that`s in the paper?

ARQUETTE: Yes.

STERN: OK.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

ANDERSON: You have got to hear the rest of this. I`ve also got to ask, is David speaking out so soon like this really a good idea?

Kim Kardashian`s naked cover controversy. She`s posing in a brand-new steamy all-nude photo shoot. But she`s complained about her "Playboy" pictures, her sex tape. So why is she all of a sudden A-OK with posing nude?

And George Clooney gets spit on and I`m here to tell you, this is a very good thing.

Time now for And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" -- more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Revealed today! "Friends" star David Schwimmer secretly wed his girlfriend in June! 20th Century Fox creating "Napoleon Dynamite" animated series.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Come on, give me some of your tots.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: No.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Come on, give me some of your tots.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: No. If you can spot it, you don`t get to do anything to it.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Gross. You idiot.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: And now, Hollywood at home. This is where we get stars to reveal how they balance stardom and their family life.

Today, Oliver Platt. Oliver stars on Showtime`s the "Big C."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

OLIVER PLATT, ACTOR: (INAUDIBLE) wife and kids. They`re pretty unimpressed in a wonderful way, and so that`s what keeps you grounded. Families are what`s most wonderful and most challenging about, you know -- and most rewarding about our lives.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Oliver seems like a great guy and obviously he`s a great actor, too. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MEREDITH VIEIRA, CO-HOST, THE "TODAY" SHOW: Just ahead, I knew if I lived long enough, my dreams would come true, and they have. George Clooney is here, next to me.

MATT LAUER, CO-HOST, THE "TODAY" SHOW: This is how it starts. This is how it happens.

(CROSS TALK)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Yes. Matt Lauer, you better watch out. George Clooney looks pretty comfy in the "Today" anchor chair. Clooney on the "Today" show this morning, revealing how he got spit on during a recent trip to Sudan.

You know, I don`t mind sitting next to George Clooney either. All right. So about Clooney getting spit on, you know, he`s been doing all this great work in the country of Sudan, trying to put a stop to a terrible civil war there. So on his most recent trip there, George revealed to Ann Curry that somebody spit on him and it was a good thing.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ANN CURRY, CO-HOST, THE "TODAY" SHOW: You even got with a woman spitting on you. What exactly happened with this elderly woman?

CLOONEY: I was blessed. This is a grandmother of a friend of ours and she lives in a very tiny hut in Abyei(ph), which is the place most of us -- there she is. And --

CURRY: What is she doing exactly?

CLOONEY: One of her blessings -- the way you`re blessed is she spits in both your hands and then pulls you down and spits on your head. And I hadn`t been blessed like that before or they didn`t call it a blessing when they did it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: That`s cool. But you know, if you spit on people around here, we all know you`d be in a lot of trouble.

HAMMER: Oh, yes, you would. Lots of posts on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook wall today about the shocking news that Courteney Cox and David Arquette have split, and Christina Aguilera and her husband, too.

Jacci J. just bummed out writing, "Oh, wow! I thought David and Courteney were great together. It seemed as though they complemented each other."

But Michelle M. shrugs her shoulders about the whole thing, "Hollywood marriages breaking up is as common now as their sex tapes and as uninteresting. Take a lesson from Sandra Bullock: Say nothing, move on and keep it out of the spotlight."

We`d love for you to join the debate on Facebook. You can get our breaking entertainment news alerts on Twitter. You can calls on "Showbiz on Call." There`s always E-mail, too. "SHOWBIZ Connects," CNN.com/ShowbizTonight.

ANDERSON: OK. David Arquette is already speaking out today about his new woman. Now, the SHOWBIZ lineup -- here`s what`s coming up.

Arquette talking about having sex with another woman already. I don`t think that`s such a good idea.

All right. Is the dish about to ditch "Jersey Shore"? The Situation sets the record straight today.

And Kim Kardashian`s naked ambition. Her eye-popping new nude photos. But is Kim a total hypocrite here because she used to regret baring all? This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

HAMMER: Let`s roll out the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker." These are more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: American Film Institute to honor Morgan Freeman with Lifetime Achievement Award. Andy Richter to rejoin Conan O`Brien on his upcoming TBS show.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

ARQUETTE: I had sex with a girl once.

STERN: This girl that`s in the paper?

ARQUETTE: Yes.

STERN: OK.

ARQUETTE: David`s shocking confession about the other woman. Is it too soon for him to speak out?

Kim Kardashian`s naked controversy today. Kim bares all in a steamy new photo spread after complaining about her "Playboy" shoot and her sex tape. Is Kim now being a total hypocrite?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You said you were contemplating retiring from reality TV.

SORRENTINO: Yes, I did say that.

HAMMER: Is The Sitch planning to ditch "Jersey Shore"? Now, that would be a situation.

Plus, breaking today from the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" La Toya Jackson and Starr Jones on a reality TV show together? And Michelle Williams channels Marilyn Monroe.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today -- David Arquette`s sex confession. Today, just hours after the world learned about Courteney Cox and David Arquette`s startling split after 11 years of marriage, David tells Howard Stern and the world about his sex life with Courteney.

David is sparing very, very few details like how he had not had sex with his wife in four months, who he has now been with, and Courteney`s emotional affair. Geez, whiz.

Right now, in Boston, is Steve Santagati. He`s the author of "The Manual." And in Hollywood is Wendy Walsh. She is a relationship expert and the author of "The Boyfriend Test" and "The Boyfriend Test."

Steve, Wendy, let`s be honest. When Courteney Cox and David Arquette got together, a lot of people were betting against the "Friends" "it" girl and the wild man.

But you know, when I heard that they had agreed to a trail separation, I was surprised. I was kind of sad. But I can tell you that sadness quickly turned to shock when David called into Howard Stern`s Sirius XM radio show this morning to reveal how he`s dealt with his heartbreak with another woman.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

STERN: I know you have a girlfriend now you`re moving in with.

ARQUETTE: (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: That`s what I was --

ARQUETTE: I don`t have a girl friend. I had sex with a girl once.

STERN: This girl that`s in the paper?

ARQUETTE: Yes.

STERN: OK. And so, she`s not your girlfriend.

ARQUETTE: Maybe twice. So yesterday --

STERN: Yes.

ARQUETTE: My only conquest became public, and so we had to release the statement.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: That statement that David is referring to is the joint announcement he and Courteney released about their trial separation.

Steve, help me understand here, please, from a guy`s perspective. David making these confessions, refreshingly honest for Hollywood, or the worst idea ever?

SANTAGATI: No. It was definitely refreshingly honest but quintessentially stupid, because if he really loves his wife as much as he says he does, then he should not have sex even when they`re separated.

You just don`t do that because, technically, you`re still together, whether the paper says it, whether you have a separation or not. You`re legally together and you should be emotionally together. So he was just an idiot.

He should have given himself some distance and then, if everything was cut off and done, then say something. But he opened his big, fat mouth and, now, he can`t go backward.

ANDERSON: Yes.

SANTAGATI: Why does Courteney ever want to sleep with him again? He`s a sleaze bag now.

ANDERSON: Yes. Wendy, he said that Courteney told him to do what he needed to do.

SANTAGATI: Didn`t mean it.

ANDERSON: I just don`t know the brutal honesty. He was in a lot of pain. But I still think it`s the worst idea ever to reveal all of this.

WALSH: It`s always the worst idea to kiss and tell. And I`m as concerned for Courteney`s feelings as I am about this other woman. Did she co-sign on this? Did she allow for him to, you know, use her name on Howard Stern?

ANDERSON: Oh, he said that she even was getting calls. People are asking him about this.

WALSH: But in her mind --

ANDERSON: What`s going on? She`s embarrassed, too.

WALSH: Yes. And in her mind, this could be a budding relationship. He said they`ve had sex more than once, so this is the beginning of something.

SANTAGATI: Oh, come on.

WALSH: And now, he`s like -- how do you know?

ANDERSON: He says he`s done with her.

SANTAGATI: I know.

ANDERSON: He says he`s done with her. And you know, David does not just bare the dirty details of his own sex life. He reveals to Howard Stern how he confronted Courteney about unconfirmed reports that she was cheating with her "Cougar Town" co-star, a show that David also produces. Listen to what he said about that.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

ARQUETTE: I truly don`t think that she ever had an affair with Brian Van Holt, who happens to be on "Cougar Town" every Wednesday.

STERN: Right. You are the producer.

ARQUETTE: On ABC.

STERN: But seriously, when those reports came out, did you confront her about that?

ARQUETTE: Yes.

STERN: And what did she say?

ARQUETTE: She denied it.

STERN: She did?

ARQUETTE: Yes.

STERN: And you believe her?

ARQUETTE: I do believe her.

STERN: All right. So --

ARQUETTE: I do believe her on that level. On an emotional level, I think she may have --

STERN: Bonded with him.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

ANDERSON: OK, if I were in Courteney`s shoes today, I would be mortified that he reveals such personal information. Steve, he really destroyed any chance of a reconciliation here, don`t you think?

SANTAGATI: Yes, he pretty much did, you know. And he did basically what Karen Owen did. He basically did a spreadsheet on their relationship, which was a really bad idea.

I mean, yes, I know he`s hurt. But if -- he like acted foolishly -- we don`t know what Courteney did either. We`re not hearing from her. So maybe she had something to do with this. Maybe she was a catalyst.

But ladies, you`re not all sugar and spice. This girl was fooling around with David Arquette. I mean, she knew what she was doing. Maybe it was Karen Owen.

WALSH: It all sounds vindictive to me though. It really sounds vindictive. And he`s also not only ruined his chances with Courteney, he`s ruined his chances with a lot of women because I`d stay away from him --

ANDERSON: Right.

WALSH: After this if you can`t trust him to be intimate.

SANTAGATI: Right. That`s true.

ANDERSON: He may not have been vindictive, but certainly, he let his emotions get the better of him. All right. I`ve got to move now from Courteney and David`s public marriage meltdown to Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher and their tweet love. A.J.

HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. Breaking new details in "The Buzz" today about how Twitter actually does keep the spark alive for Demi and Ashton. That`s not even a huge surprise, is it?

The alleged White House party crashers slammed in the explosive "Real Housewives of D.C." reunion. And someone tries to upstage Taylor Swift again. All making big news in "The Buzz" today.

HAMMER: The reunion airs in two parts starting this Thursday on Bravo.

Ashton and Demi`s Twitter-iffic romance. Despite rumors of trouble in their marriage, Ashton is making some big romantic revelations on how he and Demi Moore keep love alive.

"A lot of times, my wife and I sit across from each other and tweet. It`s a little bizarre," he told reporters in Israel, adding, "It`s the same reason you send roses to a woman at work. Sometimes people like to be adored in public."

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I wonder if they sit in bed together and actually instant message each other while they`re lying there together. Demi and Ashton have always been very public with their romance.

Some people would say all of it is kind of -- it`s part of an over- the-top effort to prove all their haters are wrong. But Steve, I`m thinking that with all the reported relationship drama, this doesn`t exactly sound like a secret to making Hollywood romance last.

I wonder, why can`t they be like other stars and -- I don`t know -- just buy each other`s Bentleys or something?

SANTAGATI: Yes, exactly. You know, there`s something -- I smell a rat here, A.J. There`s something very wrong. And I can see if you`re like the king and queen of publicity and, like, you want to make everybody all your pawns, if you will, have peasants pay attention to you.

OK. It`s kind of funny for a second. But it`s a little odd seeing what`s come out in the news recently about the alleged infidelity and everything like that. It`s just nauseating, quite frankly. Just shut up and stay in love. Work on your relationships. Spend less time with your thumbs and more time with your hands.

HAMMER: Yes. That`s what I want to see. I`m hoping -- I mean, I don`t actually want to see it. But that`s what I`m hoping is happening for them. Steve Santagati, Wendy Walsh, thanks, guys.

ANDERSON: Oh, my goodness. Kim Kardashian is naked on a magazine cover again. Now, Kim K. really loves her curves because that girl is always showing off her body. But wait a second. Didn`t Kim complain about posing for "Playboy" and her sex tape? Didn`t she regret all that? Is Kim now being a hypocrite?

Also this --

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You said you were contemplating retiring from reality TV?

SORRENTINO: Yes, I did say that.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Is The Situation ready to pack up his six pack and leave the "Jersey Shore"? What`s the sitch? Can you imagine "The Shore" without The Situation? My goodness.

And Miley Cyrus` sexy new music video. Is it fair to slam nearly 18- year-old Miley and her (INAUDIBLE) music video? The shocking results of our exclusive SHOWBIZ TONIGHT poll. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

HAMMER: And this the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" -- more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Snooki to sign autographs as part of her community service deal. Matt Damon shares what it feels like to be dad to four daughters.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MATT DAMON, ACTOR: This will be our third together but our fourth girl. And people gave me this whole line about going from man to man to zone, where you got from three to three, but we didn`t find that to be the case at all. (INAUDIBLE). It`s just that we hit the ground running in the morning full sprint and just set everybody where they need to be. It`s very (INAUDIBLE).

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Kim Kardashian gets naked on the cover of a magazine again. This time, Kim poses in her birthday suit for "W" magazine`s art issue. So why is this cover sparking controversy today?

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Brooke Anderson is in Hollywood.

And Brooke, you have got more details over the controversy over Kim`s brand-new naked cover.

ANDERSON: Yes, A.J. Kim`s got some serious naked ambition today. Her super-racy new cover for "W" magazine is the second time Kim posed in the buff this .year and it`s sparking big controversy today.

After all the embarrassment over her sex tape and her reported freak out this year over leaked photos from her "Playboy" shoot in 2007, Kim still went full frontal again. So I`ve got to ask today -- how is Kim going to shake her reputation from her sex tape if she keeps taking her clothes off?

Right now, in Hollywood, Lauren Sanchez, who is a correspondent for "Extra." And right now, in New York, is Shelley Wade who is a radio host on New York`s Z100.

Lauren, Shelley, I know Kim works really hard to look good, and she is showing off her great curves on the cover of "W" magazine. But it`s hard to forget, you know, Kim Kardashian became famous because of a sex tape. She also posed for "Playboy," which she later regretted.

So Lauren, I`ve got to ask, is it a bad idea for Kim to pose nude again?

LAUREN SANCHEZ: Well, I think you just said it all. I mean, that`s basically what she`s known for. And it`s not a bad thing. She`s actually a very sweet girl.

ANDERSON: Yes, she is.

SANCHEZ: I had the opportunity to have dinner with her and her mother and she`s a loving, sweet girl. And she`s actually kind of shy. She is who she is and she`s proud of it. Is it going to hurt her brand? Absolutely not. On the "Extra" Web site we put Kim Kardashian naked and it blew up. It is who she`s is, and I think she`s working it to the nth degree.

ANDERSON: Yes. And she makes no apologies for it. But you know --

SANCHEZ: Yes.

ANDERSON: Kim has said on her reality show, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" that she does not want to be known as that girl with the sex tape.

But I think, you know, she also does realize that her sex-pot image helped her get to where she is. And let`s face it, she`s built an empire since that sex tape. But I don`t know -- can she have it both ways?

Shelley, do you think people will see these racy covers and think that Kim is being hypocritical in a way?

SHELLEY WADE, RADIO HOST, Z100: No. I mean, the American public -- everyone knows why she`s famous. I mean, well, do we know why -- what does she do? She shops. She travels. You know, she gets in the bar brawls. But you know, I think everyone knows what she`s famous for. And as much as she tries to distance herself from the Ray J sex tape, we all know it and it`s not a surprise.

ANDERSON: It`s still out there. It`s hard to forget. All right. I`ve got to move now to another big story breaking today. A.J., The Situation done with "Jersey Shore"? What?

HAMMER: We`ve got to talk about this. You know, a lot of people are pretty upset around here. Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino definitely dropping some big-time hints today that he may not be back on MTV`s "Jersey Shore" next season, especially after there was this recent episode that portrayed him as the show`s new villain.

In a brand-new interview with ABC`s "Nightline," The Sitch says "Moving on -- hey, not out of the question."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You said you were contemplating retiring from reality TV.

SORRENTINO: Yes. I did say that, if that`s how they wanted to portray me. I was very upset and contemplated that. Not necessarily retiring from reality TV, but possibly retiring from "Jersey Shore."

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: That would be a big thing.

SORRENTINO: You know, it probably would be a big thing. But like I said, I was very upset and, you know, I don`t hold it in.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Very eloquently said. Definitely a situation for "The Jersey Shore" if he leaves. I mean, he`s definitely milked his 15 minutes of fame. So far, he`s a huge star for that show, a big part of why it`s become so successful.

But Lauren, can The Sitch himself actually last in Hollywood without "Jersey Shore"?

SANCHEZ: Well, I mean, do I really have to answer that?

HAMMER: Yes.

SANCHEZ: No. I mean, this is what I hear. Contract negotiations. Come on. He`s trying to pull for a little more money. That`s what this is all about. He is what he is. He is what he`s known for. He`s The Situation.

He`s doing a great job on "Dancing with the Stars." And he`s upset that they`re coming him a moron? He made some moronic claims, but this guy is making $5 million a year. That`s a lot of cash.

HAMMER: Well, hold on. We`ll get to those moron accusations in a second. But Shelley, I want to get your take because I sometimes watch people like The Situation. Let`s talk about him specifically.

And he believes his own hype. He sees all of the success that is coming his way. And he thinks he can walk away from the show because he`s now bigger than the show. But do you think he can really make it in Hollywood without the show?

WADE: I think he can make it. I don`t want to say Hollywood. You know, he can have a couple more of reality shows maybe. Hollywood -- he wants to be an actor? Not so much.

HAMMER: All right. Here`s the thing. First of all, I think Chris Connolly did a terrific job in this interview for "Nightline."

He did not shy away from talking to The Situation about the fact that everybody thinks -- the guys on the show or not everybody, but a lot of people think they`re morons and that`s why the show has become so famous.

And The Situation says that he`s no moron and he`s proven it.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I don`t know what people say about the guys on "Jersey Shore." They say they`re morons

SORRENTINO: If they happen to see a different aspect of me, OK, which is the business owner. I had trademarked most of my sayings. And underneath that, the -- at least a dozen endorsements. If I was a moron, so to speak -- how did this moron, you know -- was he able to do that if I was, so to speak, a moron?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, here`s the thing. I think his logic`s a little flawed. I don`t think he really made his point. He`s essentially a cartoon character. He had lots of people getting in line to back -- truckloads of cash up to his door to help him capitalize on his fame. That doesn`t really excuse you from being a moron, not saying that he is.

We`ll leave it there. Lauren Sanchez, Shelley Wade, I thank you both.

ANDERSON: All right. We`re moving on to Miley Cyrus` super-sexy new music video. You know, Miley Cyrus is almost 18 years old. She obviously wants to grow up. And only SHOWBIZ TONIGHT dares to ask -- is it fair to slam Miley. We`re revealing the stunning results on our exclusive SHOWBIZ TONIGHT poll today. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

HAMMER: Here comes the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" -- more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: La Toya Jackson, Star Jones to be on new season of "Celebrity Apprentice." First photo of Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe in "My Week with Marilyn" film.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(MUSIC PLAYING)

ANDERSON: On Monday we asked to you vote in our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll all about Miley Cyrus` sexy new music video. And we just received the final results.

HAMMER: Yes. "Miley Cyrus Almost 18 Years Old: Is it wrong to slam her sexy new music video?" Look at how this went. Only 41 percent of you say yes. Fifty-nine percent of you say no.

Right now, with me, in New York, Shelley Wade. She is a radio host on New York City`s Z100.

Shelley, what do you think? More people think it is OK to slam her -- she`s only 17 -- for this new music video. But what`s your take.

WADE: No. She`s almost 18. She`s really at the door of 18. And I honestly feel that it`s really affecting people so much because the tweens have grown up with her. You know, it was different when Britney did it.

HAMMER: Yes.

WADE: Britney was with "Mickey Mouse Club" years and years ago. But she had teen fans and she didn`t grow up with them. So Miley is currently doing, you know, her show with Disney.

And so you know, she is straddling and it is unfair to those parents who really want her to be the role model for their kid and for her to try to, you know, play both sides of the fence, you know. It`s unfair, you know, but she is almost 18.

ANDERSON: Well, that`s a really great point, Shelley. And you know, the "Showbiz on Call" phone lines have been ringing nonstop today. A lot of our fans have something to say about Miley`s sexy new music video. Marcella in Ohio said it is time we all let Miley grow up.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

MARCELLA, CALLER FROM OHIO: I believe that people are taking her actions way out of context. What is she supposed to do, be a little girl singer for the rest of her life just to please the fans?

She`s growing up. She`s becoming an adult. And just like every person in this world, she`s changing who she is as she gets older. I just feel it`s wrong to judge people just because she wants to grow up and do her own thing and not be stuck being little Hannah Montana the rest of her life.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Thanks, Marcella. We also heard from Michelle in California. Michelle says that Miley should have thought about her young fans before getting so sexy in this music video.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

MICHELLE, CALLER FROM CALIFORNIA: I think really what the problem is that her final season is still airing so the fan base that watches this is really going to eat up anything that she does.

So if she wanted to venture out with this new image, she really shouldn`t gone forward with the final season of her show. Really, we wouldn`t be so much upset over it.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

ANDERSON: Thanks for calling in, Michelle.

HAMMER: Yes. Surely, I think Michelle makes a great point. Maybe she should have cut her ties with Disney before moving on with this sexy image.

WADE: That makes a lot of sense because her ties with Disney are almost over, almost untied, so it would have made a lot of sense. But you know, she wants to move on. By the way, I just wonder if this were Justin Bieber, would it be the same argument?

HAMMER: No, it`s the double-standard rule.

WADE: Yes, you know, I`m a girl so --

HAMMER: All right. Shelley Wade, thank you for being here. I appreciate it.

WADE: Thank you.

HAMMER: And we thank you for watching. That is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is live at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Monday through Friday.

HAMMER: And still TV`s most provocative entertainment show seven days a week at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific here on HLN.
