A.J. HAMMER, CO-HOST: Big news breaking today on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - breaking Lindsay Lohan news today. Judgment day for Lindsay. The judge`s dramatic decision ordering Lindsay back to rehab. But what does Lindsay have to do to stay out of jail? The SHOWBIZ Flashpoint today - are you surprised she wasn`t sent back to the slammer?

Mel Gibson dumped. A startling message today to Mel Gibson, "You`re fired." Why mad Mel got canned from the brand new "Hangover" movie.

Too much sex? It`s the nearly naked celebrity magazine cover smackdown. Kim Kardashian fully exposed in "W" magazine. "True Blood" stars bloody and naked on "Rolling Stone." "Glee" stars get sexed up for "GQ." The great debate today - are these racy covers crossing the line from sexy to scandalous?

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show starts right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer, coming to you from Hollywood.

BROOKE ANDERSON, CO-HOST: And I`m Brooke Anderson with big news breaking today. It is right back to rehab for Lindsay Lohan.

HAMMER: Yes. Today was judgment day for Lindsay. And let me tell you, it was a dramatic court showdown. Lindsay was ordered to appear before a judge today to face the consequences for failing a mandatory drug test back in September. That failed test violated Lindsay`s probation.

So today, Lindsay took a break from rehab to face the music and the judge made what some say was a surprising decision - ordering Lindsay back to rehab saying if she messed up again, it would be straight to jail for no less than six months.

That leads to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint - are you surprised the judge didn`t send Lindsay back to the slammer?

With us, right now, from New York, Midwin Charles, who is a legal contributor with "In Session" on our sister network, Tru TV. In Hollywood is Carlos Diaz who is a syndicated radio host. And with us, in Hollywood, Jim Moret, is the chief correspondent for "Inside Edition," also the author of "The Last Day of My Life."

And Jim, I know you were right there at the courthouse. Lindsay actually thanked the judge and admitted she violated probation. So to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, are you at all surprised she didn`t wind up getting sent back to jail?

JIM MORET, CHIEF CORRESPONDENT, "INSIDE EDITION": I was surprised. I think the judge did the right thing. The D.A. wanted her sent to jail directly for 180 days. And I think that, initially, Lindsay was very nervous.

The attorneys were in chambers for about 30 minutes. I was sitting about 10 feet away from Lindsay, and her mother was consoling her for part of that time. She thought she was going to jail. She looked very nervous, very tired. I think the judge showed compassion.

ANDERSON: Yes.

MORET: I think that Lindsay seems to be doing well in rehab. And he said, "Look, I don`t want a train wreck under my watch. I don`t want you to fall off the wagon. People do. You won`t be the first. You won`t be the last.

ANDERSON: And it was a tough decision for him, though -

MORET: It was.

ANDERSON: Punish her for clearly breaking the law or continue with her rehabilitation. Carlos, are you surprised at how things turned out?

CARLOS DIAZ, SYNDICATED RADIO HOST: I thought the judge did a great job and Jim made some great points. I mean, you don`t want a train wreck.

But here`s the thing, though. This is where Lindsay now has a dilemma because, you know, now, there`s no more drama. That was the big thing before. People weren`t mad that Lindsay was on drugs. People were mad that she was skirting the system.

And now, it`s like the right decisions are being made and the judge specifically wanted Lindsay to be in rehab through the new year season so that some wild new year`s eve party couldn`t send her back down the wrong path, you know?

But I think it`s - but the judge made the smart decision to take the drama out of it and focus on Lindsay getting better.

HAMMER: Yes, because in the end, that`s all that really everybody wants. Sure, we sit here and talk about her being the train wreck, but we would love to see her get better, believe it or not.

TMZ reporting Lindsay`s own mother was even surprised today that the judge didn`t send Lindsay back to jail for another 30 days. Midwin, are you surprised that he didn`t do that?

MIDWIN CHARLES, LEGAL CONTRIBUTOR, "IN SESSION" ON TRU TV: You know, I`m not surprised. I think what the judge did was articulate that he takes this matter seriously. And he issued her a stern warning.

I mean, let`s be clear. He said, "I understand what happens to people who are addicted to drugs, but don`t you dare try to manipulate me." And I think by sending her to rehab for such a long period of time, he`s basically telling her, "I take your problem seriously but you`re going to have to pay for what it is that you`ve done, which is violate your probation."

ANDERSON: You know, I know we`ve been through this before. Initially, this morning, I thought, oh, it`s deja vu all over again. It all sounds like a broken record. But this time, at a certain point, it seemed a little bit different to me. So Jim, do you think she`s finally learned her lesson?

MORET: You know, I hope so. She wrote a letter to the judge, which seemed to make a difference. I look at Lindsay. I have a daughter her exact age and I heard in the judge what I would probably say to my daughter.

I would want her to stay in treatment, stay on course, get help, but if you fall off that wagon, you`re going to be punished.

ANDERSON: And she didn`t have "F.U." written on her fingernails, so she obviously was taking it a little bit more seriously this time.

HAMMER: I`ve got to say throughout this entire ordeal, Lindsay has gotten her fair share of breaks in the past six months. Look at all she`s been through. After she blew off a scheduled DUI progress report hearing, a bench warrant was issued for her arrest and she posted bail.

Let`s got to the SHOWBIZ news line right now. Back on May 24, the judge orders Lindsay to wear a SCRAM alcohol monitoring bracelet. On July 6th, Lindsay`s ordered to serve 90 days in jail and 90 days in rehab for violating her probation. She is then released from jail because of overcrowding.

The rehab stint at UCLA Medical Center ends after just 23 days instead of the court-ordered 90 days. She fails a drug test in mid-September. The judge in her case sends Lohan to jail. But again, just 14 hours that time and $300,000 in bail later, she is free as a bird once more.

It was then that Lindsay checked into the Betty Ford Center. And now, today, the judge spares her more jail time. I think he`s given her a great shot at beating her addiction.

Now, Carlos, do you think that Lindsay has finally learned her lesson?

DIAZ: Yes. But does it matter? No. Because - I`ll be bold here. Lindsay Lohan`s career is over. I`m sorry to be the first one to tell you this, but it is done. People keep talking about comparing her to Robert Downey, Jr. It is apples to oranges.

Robert Downey, Jr. had an Oscar nomination going into his problems. Lindsay doesn`t have that. And I`m sorry, but being honest, the rules for men and women in Hollywood are different.

And you know, Lindsay is spending all this time away from the spotlight to work on herself. There`s not really anything for her to come out to as far as - I mean, what is she going to do? She`s going to do another bio flick about someone in trouble and that`s what`s going to put her back on top?

ANDERSON: Linda Lovelace -

(CROSS TALK)

MORET: I disagree.

CHARLES: I disagree. I disagree.

MORET: I disagree, too. Carlos, Carlos -

(CROSS TALK)

DIAZ: Yes? Go ahead.

MORET: Carlos, look, she`s really talented. She`s only 24. I mean, she`s got a whole career ahead of her. It`s not as if - she can prove herself. She`s got talent. If she cleans up her act, she`ll be insurable. People will take risks slowly but surely, and if she does well, the public will embrace her.

DIAZ: But, Jim, look what A.J. just said. He just went down a timeline when he should have been talking about her $100 million movies. He`s going down a time line -

MORET: But she`s an addict.

DIAZ: How many - OK. But in today`s - OK. Look - real quick. Look at Mel Gibson. What`s going on with Mel Gibson right now? They don`t want him in "Hangover 2" because of the fact he`s controversial. And controversy, these days - they don`t want that.

ANDERSON: Well, I want to get to that, Carlos. Because with Lindsay Lohan, you know, she`s got to rehabilitate herself. Everybody does love a good comeback story.

CHARLES: Yes.

ANDERSON: And Lindsay Lohan, you know, comparing her to Mel Gibson, she did not go on an anti-Semitic tirade. She did not allegedly make all these phone calls and threats to her ex or anything.

DIAZ: But she`s not bankable.

ANDERSON: But yes, moving to Mel Gibson right now because there is this story today that he has gotten dumped. Mad Mel received a startling message that was revealed today. He was canned from the highly anticipated sequel to the "Hangover" film.

The director of that movie, Todd Phillips, told SHOWBIZ TONIGHT this, "I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Warner Brother`s co-president, Jeff Robinov, and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew."

OK. Like I said, you know, he`s had a series of very public scandals, including the battle with his ex, the anti-Semitic rant. Jim, it does sound like he`s getting blackballed in way. What do you make of it?

MORET: I`m shocked. And first of all, it`s not democracy - filmmaking. It is an - you know, look, the director says, "This is who I want." You had Mike Tyson, who was a convicted rapist as opposed to -

ANDERSON: He made a cameo in the first movie.

CHARLES: Talk about it, yes.

MORET: An accused racist. And I`m thinking, wait a second. You know what? I just think it`s hypocrisy.

ANDERSON: Does time make a difference?

MORET: Yes.

ANDERSON: Because Mike Tyson was back in 1992.

MORET: It does make a difference. But Mel Gibson - as horrible as those statements are, he hasn`t been accused of a crime yet. He has been accused, certainly, by Oksana of domestic violence but he hasn`t been accused of anything in court. And I think it`s hypocritical. I really do.

ANDERSON: Midwin, do you think it was unfair that Mel Gibson was dumped here?

CHARLES: Well, I think it is unfair and I think Jim makes some really good and valid points when comparing him to Mike Tyson. Look, this all just comes down to the basic fact that Mel Gibson right now is just not hot.

ANDERSON: Yes.

CHARLES: He is not embraced by Hollywood right now and he`s on everyone`s hate list.

ANDERSON: Kryptonite (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

CHARLES: It may take time for this to change, but it`s just not going to happen for him right now.

ANDERSON: Absolutely not, and that is very obvious. Midwin Charles, Carlos Diaz, Jim Moret, thank you all.

HAMMER: Too much sex. That`s the nearly naked celebrity magazine cover smackdown today. "Glee" stars get all sexed up for "GQ." Kim Kardashian gets naked for "W" magazine. "True Blood" stars bloody and naked on the cover of "Rolling Stones."

The great debate today - are all of these racy photo shoots going way too far?

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT names the most provocative celebrity of the week today. The nominees - Taylor Swift for kissing and telling all about her ex-boyfriends; maybe Vince Vaughn for defending his right to tell a gay joke in his new movie, "The Dilemma"; and everybody`s still talking about the three "Glee" stars who got racy for "GQ." They ticked off a lot of people, but are they the most provocative?

"Jersey Shore`s" fiery finale. Snooki reduced to tears. Jwoww - well, somebody thinks she`s a big old fake.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JENNI "JWOWW" FARLEY, CAST MEMBER, "THE JERSEY SHORE": I heard you that called me fake when I was trying to -

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Who said I called you fake?

FARLEY: That`s what I heard.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: From who?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: So much drama. But there`s some good news from all the "Shore" lovers today. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Ricky Martin and Michael Jackson`s parents to appear on "Oprah" in November. Octumom`s doctor apologizes for implanting her with a dozen embryos.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: Brandon?

EMMA STONE, ACTRESS: Oh, grunt. Do something.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: That`s Emma Stone in her breakout role in the hit movie, "Easy A." And now, Emma is going from "Easy A" to "SNL." Yes, Emma is hosting "Saturday Night Live" this weekend. Emma says hosting "SNL" is the biggest dream in her entire life.

And welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in Hollywood with Brooke Anderson.

ANDERSON: Yes, A.J. "Easy A" made Emma Stone a bona fide Hollywood star. In the movie, the stunning decision she makes to lie about losing her virginity made her an outcast on campus.

But when it comes to the guys, when they lose it on screen, there seems to be nothing but high fives for them. Today a showbiz special report, "Losing It." We are blowing the lid off what critics argue is a double standard when it comes to teen sex in movies.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

STONE: You heard in the bathroom the other day wasn`t true at all. It`s a funny story.

ANDERSON (voice-over): When "Easy A`s" Olive lies about losing her virginity to shed her good girl image, she sets off high school high drama and can`t stop the rumor mill from running wild.

AMANDA BYNES, ACTRESS: You`ve made your bed. I just hope, for your sake, that you`ve cleaned the sheets.

STONE: Did I just give faith?

ANDERSON: Her rep is ruined by the rumors. Olive, played by sassy redhead, Emma Stone, decides to embrace her new promiscuous image, dressing in lingerie for school and helping a confidant gay friend to keep his secret by pretending to sleep with him.

Along with her reputation, olive ends up losing her friends as she learns that teen girls aren`t supposed to be sexual. Psychologist Wendy Walsh tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, "Easy A" explores that age-old double standard between men and women.

WENDY WALSH, TV JOURNALIST AND DOCTOR OF PSYCHOLOGY: Women are supposed to conceal their sexuality and men are supposed to have bravado and brag about it. I don`t think it`s changed a lot.

I think when guys lose their virginity in movies, it`s always some weird, bungling, comedic moment that they`ve got to get through. When girls lose their virginity, it`s usually a bit of a mourning.

ANDERSON: Over the years, we`ve seen dozens of movies with virginity thoughts like "16 Candles." And in more recent films like "Super Bad," "American pie," time and again, nerdy, adolescent boys who comically conquered their virginity onscreen are always held up as heroes.

UNIDENTIFIED ACTOR: McLovin!

ANDERSON (on camera): Teen guys in films trying to lose their virginity is nothing new, but why is it so funny?

HYLA, ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALIST: It`s funny because most of us r nerds. I`m a nerd and I had no chance of scoring the girl I wanted. So yes, I`m going to root for a guy that I hope McLovin gets some loving because I`m rooting for him.

ANDERSON (voice-over): Rooting for teen boys to transform into men may be funny. But when a script leaked for teen queen Miley Cyrus` upcoming film, "LOL: Laughing Out Loud," it was no laughing matter.

ANDERSON: In the film, Miley plays a party girl teen who loses her virginity, causing them to question the potential damage Miley`s young fan base and real-life reputation.

WALSH: What`s really happening is people want to hold on to the young girl performer that was Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana.

ANDERSON: On screen or off, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you teen girls and virginity is a tricky topic. Just ask teen queen predecessor, Ally Sheedy, in this clip from "The Breakfast Club."

ALLY SHEEDY, ACTRESS: If you say you haven`t, you`re a prude. If you say you have, you`re a slut. It`s a trap.

ANDERSON: So will teen movies ever release girl characters from that trap?

HYLA: I hope so. And you know what? Emma Stone is kind of the face of this. She started out with "Super Bad." We`ve seen her in "Easy A." I think she can be that person to make it OK for women.

ANDERSON: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you Emma Stone made losing it A-OK but it may be a while before Hollywood loses its double standard.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: And as we move from one controversy to yet another, there is a brand-new sexy smackdown today. I`m talking nearly naked celebrities. Three "Glee" stars get all sexed up for "GQ" magazine.

Kim Kardashian gets naked for "W" magazine. And of course, the leading stars of the great show, "True Blood" get bloody and naked on the cover of "Rolling Stone" magazine. The great debate today - are all these racy photo shoots just going way too far?

"Jersey Shore`s" fiery finale. Wait until you see this - Snooki reduced to tears. Someone dares to call Jwoww fake? Huh? The "Shore`s" showdown.

But wait, there`s another fiery finale. The "Real Housewives of D.C." on the attack.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You didn`t sit down for dinner.

MICHAELE SALAHI, CAST MEMBER, "REAL HOUSEWIVES OF D.C.": Right.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Is that because there was not a seat for you?

SALAHI: No, it`s because they had lentil soup, I can remember.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You didn`t like what they were serving?

SALAHI: I can remember the whole night.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: OK. Michaele Salahi denies crashing the White House. But today, she`s making what I think is a bizarre revelation about why she left the state dinner early. Wait until you hear this. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

SALAHI: I remember the whole night.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Where are you going? Where are you going?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: This is not getting any answers.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You know what? We`re hearing their side of the story for the first time.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No, no. It`s still just totally (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Oh, boy. Major drama on the "Real Housewives of D.C." reunion show. Hot-headed housewife Cat nearly stormed out after alleged White House party crasher Michaele Salahi`s latest shocking confession.

It`s the latest bombshell revelation about the swanky White House state dinner that made the Salahis infamous. Nearly a year after Michaele and Tareq Salahi made headlines around the globe for attending the White House dinner that they may or may not have been invited to, they`re getting slammed again today about what really went down.

This time, it was Michaele`s totally off-the-wall explanation on the "Real Housewives of D.C." reunion show about why she left the state dinner before the actual dinner was served. You`ve got to look at this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You didn`t sit down for dinner.

SALAHI: Right.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Is that because there was not a seat for you?

SALAHI: No, it`s because they had a lentil soup, I can remember it.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You didn`t like what they were serving.

SALAHI: I can remember the whole night.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Where are you going? Where are you going?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: This is not getting any answers.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You know what? We`re hearing their side of the story for the first time.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No, no. It`s still just totally (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Well, you know what, let`s hear it. So you left because you didn`t like the food?

SALAHI: No. No, I left because I wasn`t feeling well.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: OK. I can see it now. Excuse me, President Obama, I don`t like this soup so I`m pit of here. Give me a break. Michaele and Tareq Salahi, no soup for you!

ANDERSON: OK, A.J. One of the fiercest debates on the SHOWBIZ Facebook page today continues to be that sexed-up "GQ" photo shoot featuring three of the stars of "Glee."

Crystal A. says this on our Facebook page, "`GQ` magazine is an adult magazine. `Glee` is an adult show. But that does not mean that the teens aren`t reading or watching. The `Glee` cast is sending a very poor message to our young people."

But Crystal S. says, "They are adults, people. Get over it."

HAMMER: Time now for the SHOWBIZ lineup - here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

So who will SHOWBIZ TONIGHT name the most provocative celebrity of the week? Taylor Swift for kissing and tell all about her famous ex- boyfriends? Vince Vaughn for slamming critics who slammed him for his gay joke in his new movie? Or the "Glee" stars for getting nearly naked in "GQ"?

The "Glee" cast may be nearly naked, but big stars are taking it all off all over the place. Kim Kardashian naked in "W" magazine. "True Blood" stars bloody and naked in "Rolling Stone." The great debate today - are these racy covers just crossing the line?

HAMMER: Rod Stewart adoption shocker today. Does Rod Stewart have a long- lost child? Brand-new revelations today. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

And now, the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Chris Rock to make Broadway debut in a play about love and fidelity. CBS` "Big Bang Theory" gets record ratings Thursday night.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Big news breaking today on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT - battle of the super- sexy cover stars. The female stars of "Glee" nearly naked in "GQ." Kim Kardashian naked in "W" magazine. The great debate today - are these racy covers crossing the line from sexy to scandalous?

Who will we name SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s most provocative celebrity of the week today? Taylor Swift for her dramatic kiss-and-tell confessions? Vince Vaughn for the firestorm over his gay joke in his new movie? Or the stars of "Glee" for posing for super-sexy photos in "GQ"?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

FARLEY: I heard that you called me fake.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Who said I called you fake?

FARLEY: That`s what I heard.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: From who?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: "Jersey Shore`s" fiery finale. Jwoww a fake? Snooki in tears? More drama than you can shake a SoCo at.

Plus breaking today from the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - David Arquette and Courteney Cox together? And a Lady Gaga and Elton John duet.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from Hollywood with Brooke Anderson.

ANDERSON: And there`s big news breaking today - too much sex? It is the battle of the sexy covers. This week the cast of "Glee" has taken all kinds of heat for that provocative photo spread in the new issue of "GQ" magazine. But "Glee" stars aren`t the only ones stripping down.

HAMMER: You`ve got Kim Kardashian, who is exactly not a stranger to nudity appearing fully naked with some strategically placed red banners on the cover of "W." And the stars of one of my favorite shows, "True Blood" - they are bloody and nude in "Rolling Stone" magazine. Today, it`s the great SHOWBIZ debate, are the latest wave of racy covers crossing the line from sexy to scandalous? And which one is the biggest offender?

ANDERSON: Right now, in New York, is self-esteem expert, Jess Weiner. Jess is an ambassador for the Dove Global Self-Esteem Weekend, which seeks to boost self-esteem in young girls. Here with us right now, in Hollywood, is syndicated radio host, Carlos Diaz.

OK. Jess, Carlos, I can understand why all of these provocative photos got people in an uproar for different reasons. Carlos, though, do you think the racy covers cross the line from sexy to scandalous? I`m predicting you`re going to say no.

DIAZ: Sexy is scandalous. And by the way, this set has never been sexier, all right.

ANDERSON: Oh, thank you.

DIAZ: And I feel scandalous saying that. But no. The thing is that that`s what you want. The cast of "Glee" - we`ve been talking about this all week long. They`re laughing all the way to the bank. They`re getting so much pub on this. And -

ANDERSON: But did they need it? Was it necessary?

DIAZ: Yes.

JESSICA WEINER, SELF-ESTEEM EXPERT: No.

DIAZ: Yes.

ANDERSON: But the show is doing really well.

(CROSS TALK)

ANDERSON: I think it`s unnecessary for the publicity of the show and for the publicity of the stars. They didn`t need it.

DIAZ: But how many people don`t watch "Glee" that might now watch.

ANDERSON: Or how many people are turned off?

DIAZ: It`s not a family show.

ANDERSON: That`s true. That`s true.

DIAZ: Britney took all this sex - Britney took all this virginity on, like, a dare, as a joke. It wasn`t a very special (UNINTELLIGIBLE) loses her virginity episode.

(CROSS TALK)

HAMMER: You`re not going to get an argument from me, Carlos.

DIAZ: Yes.

HAMMER: I`m going to tell you right now. But look, we know sex sells. I mean, that is not a big secret. I think, you know, this is business as usual in Hollywood.

But Jess, I`ve got to get your take. I hear you in the background saying, "No, no, no." So do you think these stars are crossing the line from sexy to scandalous?

WEINER: You know something? I disagree with Carlos. I don`t think that "Glee" needed to do a cover like this. I think this is more about individual actor choices and also, magazines.

Magazines are the beneficiaries of these scandalous photos and the publishing industry has been going downhill for a while now. And this is a way to get us to talk about it. But I disagree that it`s not a family show.

It appeals to teenagers. I know plenty of teens who watch it. And you know, today it was the topic of conversation in one of our Dove self- esteem workshops was, why do girls constantly have to be on the cover of magazines get attention? Whether we like it or not, it sends messages to younger people who walk by newsstands and see this.

ANDERSON: Well, I think this is a great opportunity for us to say loud and clear that this show is not really for young people. I mean, it really tackles issues that young people may not be mature enough to process appropriately.

DIAZ: Yes.

ANDERSON: And you know, we`re looking at the pictures here from the "Glee" stars. And even though they are fully-clothed, to me, their photos were the most offensive out of the covers that we`re talking about because people were so caught off guard they did not expect it.

Carlos, you know, with Kim Kardashian, with "True Blood", let`s face it, that`s what they do. That`s the tone of their shows, of their images.

DIAZ: Right.

ANDERSON: Which of these - well, did any of them offend you?

DIAZ: No.

ANDERSON: Which of these was most offensive to you? But did any, at all, offend you?

DIAZ: I mean, Kim Kardashian needs to have sexy photos because that`s what Kim Kardashian is. She`s a great person, but she`s sexy, so she needs to be sexy. "True Blood" - "True Blood" is a show that is very provocative.

ANDERSON: On HBO - yes.

DIAZ: On HBO. And "Glee," if you don`t know - Finn is not 18. The character who plays Finn, I believe, is 48 years old, all right? He may be 50. So these are all adults and these are all adults who recognize that if you`re a child star, it`s a death sentence in Hollywood. You`ve got to get older quick.

WEINER: That`s so convenient. But Carlos, that`s so convenient to say. It`s one form of the conversation and I agree with you on that. But I have one foot in Hollywood and one foot in the rest of the world. And the rest of the world does look at this and say, "Enough. Why does sex constantly have to be sold to teens?"

And I think we forget like - it`s not just - I don`t care if teens don`t - you don`t think they watch "Glee"? They do. They`re impacted because it`s about a glee club at high school. It has scenes that they relate to.

And these pictures were about evoking the high school slutty girl fantasy. I mean, let`s just go there. The only people who deserve to have a kind of a sultry cover were the "True Blood" people. That was in type for show they do.

DIAZ: But very quickly, Jess. I do believe that there is sex in high schools? (UNINTELLIGIBLE) there is sex in high schools.

(CROSS TALK)

WEINER: That`s not what we`re talking about.

HAMMER: Let me jump in to get your take. Among these who wins or probably, in your thinking, who loses the battle over which of these covers took it way too far?

WEINER: I mean, I think - in this case, I think "Glee" took it way too far because I don`t think they needed to. I get that they did, but I don`t think they needed to. I think "True Blood," again, was the only show that I can say, OK, I get why they`re on the cover of "Rolling Stone," covered in blood and they`re an HBO cable show.

But I don`t know. And Kim Kardashian, to me, is a non-issue, because I think, as Carlos said, like, I don`t know what she`s famous for except for her body. It still doesn`t matter. None of these send good messages, that`s why I`m concerned.

HAMMER: And even though - but I will say that even though you don`t want to see these and even though you feel that none of them send good messages, Jess, I think they are losing their shock value because they are so (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

(CROSS TALK)

WEINER: I agree. We`re tired.

ANDERSON: Yes, I agree. Come up with something else. The way to be different is keep your clothes on, keep the mystery.

HAMMER: Perish the thought, Brooke.

ANDERSON: OK. We`ve got to move now from provocative pictures to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s most provocative celebrity of the week. The cast of "Glee" is our first nominee for that super-provocative high school photo shoots that, you know, as we said, had some critics calling their pictures pedophilia.

The second nominee here is Taylor Swift. She made waves with a new song where she seems to confirm that she had a bad relationship with musical bad boy, John Mayer. And the third is Vince Vaughn for refusing to back down to critics angry at a gay joke in his newest movie. So Carlos, who is your pick?

DIAZ: OK. First of all, Taylor Swift - didn`t she write a song about Taylor Lautner?

ANDERSON: She did.

DIAZ: Yes. Yes.

ANDERSON: That`s what she does.

DIAZ: John Mayer did - everybody (UNINTELLIGIBLE). The Vince Vaughn thing - he needed to say, "Oh, shut up." I mean, he cut what he said. I understand what bullying is about, but we have to combat it with comedy. So you know, it`s "Glee" -

ANDERSON: But very diplomatic.

DIAZ: It`s "Glee" hands down. I mean, it`s been what we`ve been talking about all week.

WEINER: I`m actually going to disagree with this.

HAMMER: Quickly, Jessica.

WEINER: I`m actually going to disagree with this.

DIAZ: Jess, you don`t agree with anything I say, ever.

WEINER: You know why? You know, I love you, Carlos, but I`m going to surprise you by not picking "Glee." I actually think Vince Vaughn had a chance to stand up in a time right now where bullying and the issues around gay rights is up in this country and he could have taken a higher, better road. I think he`s provocative for that.

HAMMER: OK. Fair enough. Let`s get to the moment of truth - let me say that again. Let`s get to the moment of truth. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is ready to name the most provocative celebrity of the week. May I have a drum roll, please?

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is naming the cast of "Glee." Yes, you knew that was going to happen. But it seems to me that all the outrage, Carlos, only made it more possible for young fans to see all these pictures because they`ve been everywhere this, all over TV, in every newspaper that kids might not normally get their hands on.

Do you think that people need to maybe think twice before getting so outraged next time because this is what`s going to happen?

DIAZ: I don`t know a lot of 14-year-old girls who read "GQ". But you`d better believe ever 14-year-old girl out there is like, "How do I get a copy of `GQ`?"

ANDERSON: Oh, my god. I think it`s accessible on the Internet. And I think we have to have these conversations so people know what side people are coming from, what`s right, what may not be right, what crosses the line -

WEINER: I agree, Brooke. I agree. I think we have to use these in every day moments. And that`s what we did today with these workshops with Dove where they talk about it. They`re not going to go away. They`re not going to go away, so make the premise.

(CROSS TALK)

ANDERSON: That`s right. Carlos, before we go - did John Mayer break your heart, too?

DIAZ: He did.

HAMMER: Write a song.

DIAZ: I don`t want to talk about it right now.

ANDERSON: All right. Jessica Weiner, Carlos Diaz, thanks, guys.

HAMMER: Rod Stewart`s secret love child revelations as we move on today. The legendary rocker awaits the birth of a new baby at the same time. Rod Stewart is opening up today about the child he gave up for adoption. The shocking new details today from Rod Stewart himself.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

FARLEY: I heard that you called me fake when I was trying to do -

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: When did I call you fake?

FARLEY: That`s what I heard.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: From who?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: "Jersey Shore`s" finale fireworks. Who is left in tears inside the final smackdown today?

Snooki hangs with Lady Gaga? Well, it might not happen in real life, but it will happen at the hottest Hollywood Halloween parties.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JEANNE MOOS, CNN NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT (on camera): You have a whole Gaga section.

(voice-over) A section featuring Lady Gaga wigs and licensed outfits, like the one she wore in "Poker Face."

(MUSIC)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Gaga - you`ve got to love it. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Now, it`s the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Justin Bieber wants to be a guest judge on Simon Cowell`s "X Factor" show. David Arquette and Courteney Cox "reunite" for "Scream 4" trailer.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What good is it to be a survivor if everyone close to you is dead?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

EVA LONGORIA-PARKER, ACTRESS: I`m Eva Longoria. This is my storia. One sweet home girl who comes from Astoria. I`m Latin. Thighs like satin. I`m here to host. I`m doing no 10. I`m on TV all over the world. I`m a desperate housewife in high heels in pearls.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: See this? Eva Longoria Parker makes her rap debut. No, no. She`s not giving up her "Desperate Housewives" gig. This is a commercial for the MTV`s European Music Awards. Eva is hosting the show in Spain next month. But it sounds -

HAMMER: It sounds a little angry.

ANDERSON: Angry, though, yes. Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with A.J. Hammer. And there`s drama. There`s mayhem. There`s a secret child in "The Buzz" today.

HAMMER: Yes. "Jersey Shore" finale fireworks - season two wrapping up with the big bang. Dr. Oz is the wizard of daytime. Good news for the good doctor today. And Rod Stewart`s secret child revelations today.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over) Rod Stewart`s adoption shocker. The 65-year-old rocker reveals to HLN`s Joy Behar that he gave up his baby daughter when he was just a teen. Stewart says he was too broke to take care of the little girl, but after her adoptive parents passed away, he says they`ve worked harder on their relationship.

ROD STEWART, SINGER: Obviously, I`m the biological father, and we`ve tried to come together and be close together, and it`s working out pretty well.

JOY BEHAR, HOST, "THE JOY BEHAR SHOW": That`s great. That`s great.

STEWART: You know, this - I never felt like I was her dad because I didn`t take her to school, didn`t change her nappies. There was no maternal thing here, but I`m trying.

HAMMER: The Oprah spin-off show down. Dr. Oz is winning the smackdown of Oprah`s talk show spin-offs. According to the "New York Post," "Dr. Phil" and "The Nate Berkus Show" are no competition for Dr. Oz. All three shows run opposite each other in New York. And though "The Nate Berkus Show" was a strong competitor out of the gate, show`s estimated 1.2 million viewers is considered troubling. Maybe it`s time to call in the Big O.

"Jersey Shore`s" fiery finale. Season two of MTV`s "Jersey Shore" ends with a fist-pumping bang.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: When (EXPLETIVE DELETED) did I call you fake?

FARLEY: That`s what I heard.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: From who?

HAMMER: Pauly D`s screaming match with Jwoww had Snooki in tears on their last night in Miami. If you can`t wait for more drama from the "Shore" gang, don`t worry. MTV just revealed the new season of "Jersey Shore" kicks off in January.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

Well, "Jersey Shore" fans can rest easy. I know I am. Last night`s fiery finale is not the last you`ll see of their favorite reality stars at all.

ANDERSON: I`m so relieved, A.J. But the big question today is, does the world really need another season of "Jersey Shore"?

With us, right now, in Hollywood, Jim Moret, chief correspondent, "Inside Edition," and the author of "The Last Day of My Life." Right now, in New York, Midwin Charles, who is a legal contributor for "In Session" - that`s on our sister network, Tru TV.

So what was all that drama about on the "Jersey Shore," you may ask? Well, it was a big old screaming match about who said Jwoww was fake. Snooki said it was a consensus in the house. But Pauly D took big issue with it. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

PAUL "PAULY D" DELVECCHIO, CAST MEMBER, "THE JERSEY SHORE": I don`t think anybody said it. I don`t rat anybody out. I would never rat on my best friend.

FARLEY: All I said was, "I have to go to the bathroom. I hear I`m going to get my ass beat.

DELVECCHIO: That has nothing to do with me.

FARLEY: And then I heard that Pauly said that I was fake.

DELVECCHIO: That`s crazy if you would say that.

NICOLE "SNOOKI" POLIZZI, CAST MEMBER, "THE JERSEY SHORE": It`s not crazy.

POLIZZI: I said she`s fake?

DELVECCHIO: What happened?

POLIZZI: No - can you not yell at me like that? It`s scaring the (EXPLETIVE DELETED) out of me.

DELVECCHIO: Let`s get this (EXPLETIVE DELETED) straight right now. What happened?

POLIZZI: Mike had a question, "Who is fake in the house?"

DELVECCHIO: Who answered it?

POLIZZI: Mike did.

DELVECCHIO: Thank you!

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: So let me get this straight. The entire house, all complete with their fake tans, are fighting over who called who fake. This was the finale that everybody was waiting for? Jim, where in the world do they go from here?

MORET: Let me tell you something, OK?

ANDERSON: Oh, I like this.

MORET: I`m telling - my name is Jimmy the switch, that`s my new name.

ANDERSON: Can we see your abs?

MORET: I have sprayed abs on in case somebody asks me - I feel so old, that`s all I can tell you. I don`t understand life anymore when I watch this show. It`s huge. My kids watch it. I don`t get it.

I talk to these guys and they seem very nice. I don`t understand how The Situation is making $10 million this year. I think about just walking in traffic when I hear that. I don`t get it.

HAMMER: Jim, as cliche as it sounds, I know you slow down when there are a couple of wrecked cars at the side of the highway. It`s exactly the same thing. And I get that.

Honestly, if I didn`t see Snooki`s pouf or The Situation flashing his abs ever again, I`d also be OK with that. But still, look, as you mentioned, the show has had huge ratings for MTV.

Midwin, I know you are a huge "Jersey Shore" fan. Is it even possible that the third season can keep the charm that sucked in fans in the first place?

CHARLES: I think they can. I think they can. Listen, I`m familiar with the show is what I`m going by. And I think they can. I think - look, "Jersey Shore" is escapism in its purest form and I think that really is the attraction of it.

People want to come home. They want to kind of put aside all the murder and mayhem they`ve been hearing about all day and watch this kind of stuff. And it`s fun.

ANDERSON: Escape to more mayhem?

HAMMER: Midwin, put your hair in a pouf, would you?

CHARLES: We can debate the intellectual merits of the show, but that`s neither here nor there. I think people are just attracted to it because they want to see these guys run amuck in this house.

ANDERSON: Well, they certainly run amuck. I think, you know, the drinking, the violence has escalated to the point where, you know, kids are watching. You say your kids are watching. Do they think this is cool? And do we really need another season?

MORET: Well, the highest-rated episode was the catfight. And that bothers me because, you know, all this bad behavior is being rewarded.

HAMMER: Yes.

MORET: That`s what people are tuning in for. They love the train wreck.

CHARLES: Yes.

HAMMER: And without the train wreck and without those fights, I don`t think it would have the success that it does. Midwin Charles, Jim Moret, thank you both.

ANDERSON: And speaking of our friends down the shore, get a load of this - bed bugs, beef and Snooki. No, it`s not a lost episode of the hit show. They are some of the outrageous star Halloween costumes that you`re going to see this year.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MOOS: Can`t kill the "Jersey Shore." Snooki and The Situation are big this Halloween.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: This is The Situation right here.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: I can`t wait to wear my Snooki pouf wig. I`m just kidding. I`m not going to do that. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

HAMMER: I think that would be a good look for you, Brooke. Time now for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" - more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Lady Gaga and Elton John record duet for new Disney film, "Gnomeo and Juliet." Hillary Duff reveals wedding day drama on "Ellen."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HILLARY DUFF, ACTRESS: Beginning part of the day, I lost my tooth. Yes. It just fell out in my hands. Thank god, I didn`t swallow it.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Ghosts, goblins and Gaga. Oh, my. You know, Lady Gaga`s barely there getups are going to be huge this Halloween. But the hottest star costumes are ripped from the headlines from "Jersey Shore`s" Snooki to the wannabe lawmaker who says, "I`m not a witch." People are getting ready to go wild on Halloween.

Here`s Jeanne Moos for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

JEANNE MOOS, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Heads up. It`s time to think Halloween.

(on camera) What`s the weirdest thing people have asked you for?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: A bed bug costume.

MOOS (voice-over): But despite all those reports of bed bug infestations, you can be a roach, you can be a fly, but no bed bugs. What is popular?

(on camera) So you have a whole Gaga section?

(voice-over) A section featuring Lady Gaga wigs and licensed outfits, like the one she wore in "Poker Face."

(MUSIC)

But if you`re wondering where`s the beef, forget it. Gaga wore her famous meat dress just last month, which didn`t leave enough time for manufacturers to whip up a meat costume.

Here at Halloween Adventures, there a twist on the usual politician and celebrity masks. They`re zombies. Zombie Obama, zombie Palin, zombie Tiger Woods.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He`s even got a bruise. Someone hit him with a golf club.

MOOS: Delaware Senate candidate Christine O`Donnell is too new to the national stage to have her own mask, but she joked on "Good Morning America" about her plans for Halloween.

CHRISTINE O`DONNELL (R), DELAWARE SENATE CANDIDATE: I certainly am not going to be a witch.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You`re not, OK.

O`DONNELL: So I was thinking about just going as Dorothy.

MARGARET HAMILTON, ACTRESS: I`m melting!

O`DONNELL: Kill the witch.

MOOS: Can`t kill the "Jersey Shore." Snooki and the Situation are big this Halloween.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: This is The Situation right here.

MOOS: Though this Situation T-shirt with abs drawn onto it is beyond lame.

(on camera) Yes.

(voice-over) Don`t even think of shoplifting your outfit. The 18-year-old wearing this costume got caught swiping some fangs at Halloween Express in Virginia. As punishment, he had to spend six hours as Bert from "Sesame Street."

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think that is actually a good deal.

MOOS: You could be the Burger King or someone from "Avatar" or even a Chilean miner, but if you really want something offbeat ripped out of the headlines -

ANTOINE DODSON, RESCUED SISTER FROM INTRUDER: Most wanted costume of 2010. Oh, yes.

MOOS: Antoine Dodson made the news in Alabama after he scared off an intruder who climbed in a window and attacked his sister while she slept.

DODSON: He`s climbing in your window. He`s snatching your people up. So hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband.

MOOS: His passionate rant on the local news ended up auto-tuned. Now, Antoine is selling the "Bed Intruder" costume for $24.99.

DODSON: When you knock on that door, they`re going to be like, "Who is it?" You say, "Hide your kids and hide your wife."

MOOS: At least it`s a bed intruder and not a bed bug.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: That was CNN`s Jeanne Moos for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. And Brooke, you know, the average person spends about $67 on their Halloween costume. I`m thinking you can get your Snooki pouf done for free by our makeup artists.

ANDERSON: I like the Antoine Dodson costume.

HAMMER: You can be Antoine Dodson. All right. Well, that is it for SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m A.J. Hammer in Hollywood with Brooke Anderson.

ANDERSON: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is live at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Monday through Friday.

HAMMER: And we are still TV`s most provocative entertainment news show seven days a week at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.
