(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MARIE OSMOND, SINGER AND ACTRESS: I`ve been through some tough things in my life, Oprah. This is probably the hardest thing I`ve been through.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: It`s Marie`s very first TV interview about her son`s death.

HAMMER: Gwyneth goes country. Gwyneth Paltrow`s big country singing debut at the CMA awards.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with the great debate today -- how did she do?

ANDERSON: Portia`s same sex two-step? Brand-new reports that "Dancing with the Stars" wants Portia De Rossi to be part of the first same-sex team on the show. The SHOWBIZ Flashpoint question today, should she do it?

HAMMER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show --

ANDERSON: Starts right now.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

ANDERSON: Hi, there, everyone. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today -- Demi`s secret struggle.

HAMMER: Yes. At just 18 years old, Disney star Demi Lovato has had a stunning rise to fame. She`s already got a huge career, adored by millions of fans around the world. But now, Demi is in the middle of a very personal, deep, dark battle.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is getting brand-new dramatic insight into Demi`s troubles today, troubles that have pulled the plug on her concert tour with the Jonas Brothers and sent her into treatment, troubles that are now jeopardizing her hit TV show.

Now, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT with explosive new revelations on Demi`s tormented past and her risky dance with fame.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over) She`s been called the new Miley Cyrus, but now, teen star Demi Lovato`s rise to superstardom has taken a detour straight to a treatment center where she`s dealing with a range of crippling emotional problems that, today, are landing her on the gossip pages and threatening her career.

JOEY BARTOLOMEO, SENIOR WRITER, "PEOPLE" MAGAZINE: She`s had self-esteem issues. She`s also, according to sources, cut herself and had eating problems.

HAMMER: Today, for the first time, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you brand-new inside details about Demi Lovato`s self-destructive behavior, her devastating breakup with young rocker Joe Jonas and her brutal fight that led to her exit from the Jonas Brothers` international tour.

BARTOLOMEO: She`s just 18 but she`s actually a very troubled person.

HAMMER: Today, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT obtained an advance copy of the new issue of "People" magazine which has the inside story of Demi`s secret struggle.

BARTOLOMEO: A source told "People" that she was overworked and she was just being pulled in a lot of directions.

HAMMER: "People" magazine`s Joey Bartolomeo tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Lovato`s problems came to a head on October 28th, when she and the Jonas Brothers were performing in South America.

BARTOLOMEO: One night, she went out with a group of people. And the next day, she was confronted by some tour managers about her behavior the night before. A source told "People" that Demi thought that one of the dancers had snitched and had told the tour managers that Demi had been partying.

So when Demi got on the plane, she was still very angry about it, went up to the dancer, and without even looking at her, punched her in the face.

HAMMER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT brings you this "Good Morning America" clip from May where we see Lovato onstage with backup dancer Alex Welch, the girl Lovato allegedly punched on the airplane.

BARTOLOMEO: She also threatened the dancer with a slew of expletives.

HAMMER: Lovato`s tour with the Jonas Brothers had already seen its share of drama. In May, Joe Jonas, who had been dating Lovato for several months, broke up with her.

BARTOLOMEO: A source tells "People" that Demi`s behavior really got out of control and that`s what led Joe breaking up with her. A source said that Demi was a mess after the breakup.

HAMMER: Then after Lovato`s free-flight fight with the dancer, it was clear Lovato could not continue on the tour.

BARTOLOMEO: After the incident on the plane, Demi`s parents took her to a treatment center.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You get to go to camp at a discounted rate.

HAMMER: If you`ve never heard of Demi Lovato, chances are a teen or tween you know has, thanks to her "Camp Rock" movies and her hit Disney channel shows, "Sonny with a Chance."

(MUSIC PLAYING)

HAMMER: But beneath the perky songs and cute sitcoms is a very troubled girl.

BARTOLOMEO: I spoke to people who know her who said that even before she became famous, she was dealing with a lot of issues.

DEMI LOVATO, SINGER AND ACTRESS: It was a really rough time in my life.

HAMMER: Just last month, Lovato opened up to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT about the bullying she suffered in middle school.

LOVATO: It caused problems for me that I still deal with every day.

HAMMER: Lovato`s problems reportedly got even worse after she and her family moved from her native Texas to the pressure cooker that is Hollywood.

BARTOLOMEO: In 2008 and, again, in 2009, there were pictures of Demi on red carpets are being out where you could see marks on her wrist that looked like she had been cutting herself.

HAMMER: Lovato`s troubles bring to mind the problems of another Disney star, Lindsay Lohan, who went from cute-as-a-button Disney fame to daily reports of questionable behavior to legal trouble and drug rehab. But Lovato`s reps insist Lovato is not in Lohan territory.

BARTOLOMEO: Demi`s spokesperson is knocking down reports that she`s in rehab for drug and alcohol issues. She`s in treatment for these emotional and physical issues.

HAMMER: Lovato`s show "Sonny with a Chance" was scheduled to resume production in January. But today, with Lovato in treatment, Disney tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, quote, "The health and wellbeing of Demi comes first, and if we have to make other plans, we will." And Lovato`s family is in her corner as well.

BARTOLOMEO: Now, they`re seeking professional help and getting her the help that she needs.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: And I think that`s admirable and really courageous of Demi and her family to take action now before it`s too late. But here`s a question a lot of people are asking -- should Demi leave showbiz for good?

Right now in New York is Sheryl Lee Ralph -- she`s an award-winning actress, producer and AIDS activist. Also in New York, is Megan Alexander -- she is a correspondent for "Inside Edition."

Ladies, these new revelations about Demi`s struggle today really seem to point to fame at a young age as a major factor. So, Megan, do you think that Demi needs to leave showbiz for good in order to stay on the right track?

MEGAN ALEXANDER, CORRESPONDENT, "INSIDE EDITION": Well, you know, Brooke, I think looking from some of her -- in here peer group who have gone before her, it is an excellent time to regroup, take some time away from the business, get a good support team around her if she doesn`t already have one and just think about what she wants to do next.

I don`t think it`s a time to make a drastic decision, but it`s a time for her to really evaluate where she wants to go in life. She`s an adult now. What is she, 18, starting to make decisions for herself. So we`ve seen that unless you tackle your problems head on, they`re going to rear their ugly head again in the future if you put them off.

ANDERSON: Face them. Take a pause, reflect --

ALEXANDER: Take a pause.

ANDERSON: Decide what`s next. Well, know that Demi`s Disney show, "Sonny with a Chance" is on hiatus, but that could turn into a permanent break here. Sheryl Lee, if Disney cuts Demi loose, could it be the best thing for her?

SHERYL LEE RALPH, ACTRESS, PRODUCER AND AIDS ACTIVIST: Listen, fame is always a double-edged sword. When you`re going up, it is good, but when you`re going down, it can be even worse. So as she`s riding it, it was great. But if they cut her off, it can be absolutely the worst thing for her.

And, look, fame when you get out there on that playground, baby, you`ve got to be extra careful, especially when you`re new to the neighborhood.

ANDERSON: Yes. Interesting perspective. And I think if she can stop this speeding freight train and turn it in the right direction, she`s still got a shot.

RALPH: Yes.

ANDERSON: And she can be really successful in showbiz because she is extremely talented, while at the same time taking care of herself and being healthy.

RALPH: Yes.

ANDERSON: OK. We`ve got to move now though to big news breaking today about Kanye West. A.J., Kanye sat down with Matt Lauer to apologize to former President Bush for labeling him a racist. But now, Kanye is going after Matt Lauer.

HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. Kanye simply planned to say "I`m sorry" when he appeared on the "Today" show with Matt Lauer. But after the interview, he tweeted this passionate rant saying he felt judged, he felt scrutinized instead of what he was there for. Watch what led up to that.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MATT LAUER, CO-HOST, THE "TODAY" SHOW: Do you regret having said that now?

KANYE WEST, SINGER: I don`t want to speak on the word "regret." And I think a lot of things that happen in America period are because of race, just the way this country was built.

LAUER: I want you to just look at his face when he is commenting about you and just look at him. I mean, this is the most emotional he got during my entire three-and-a-half hour interview with him. What would you say to him if he would meet with you face to face, and I`m not sure he would, but if he would?

WEST: You know, I didn`t need to you, guys, to show me the tape to, you know, prompt my emotion to what I`m going to say.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: All right. Look, I think Matt Lauer was just doing his job there, honestly. Megan, to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint though, Kanye West says he got slammed for just trying to admit his mistakes. Do you feel sympathy for him?

ALEXANDER: Well, you mentioned this, I believe, earlier. It reminds us that Hurricane Katrina is still very raw. It`s deeply emotional for so many people. I think that, you know, Matt was doing his job by trying to get the reaction there and really get to the nitty-gritty, if you will.

But I can see where Kanye was a little frustrated, that they were really pitting, you know, one against the other. It`s time to move on and really get past that.

HAMMER: I agree, but I think -- look, they`re both -- Kanye is a very passionate guy. He is a very sensitive guy. He is a very creative guy. And I have actually felt sympathy for him that I haven`t felt before in all of the press he`s been doing.

I`ve heard some great radio interviews. But he knows how the game is played. He knows the kinds of questions that are going to be asked. Do you have sympathy for him, Shirley?

RALPH: Let me tell you, first of all, I love Kanye West crazy as he wants to be, but the expression I will never forget was the expression that I saw on the face of what -- was the name of the guy standing next to him?

ALEXANDER: Mike Myers.

RALPH: Mike Myers. The expression on his face when Kanye said "Bush don`t like black people." Mike Myers was like what the -- that`s the expression right there.

HAMMER: And that was, obviously, a very stunning time. It will be interesting to see if he goes through with his commitment to perform on the Thanksgiving Day parade and -- on NBC the next day.

RALPH: I want tickets.

HAMMER: When you get there --

RALPH: I want tickets.

HAMMER: Sheryl Lee Ralph, we`ll work on that for you, Megan Alexander, we thank you for being here. Check your local listings for Megan Alexander`s exclusive interview with Justin Bieber`s dad. It`s going to be great on "Inside Edition."

ANDERSON: And moving on to this -- Marie Osmond`s tearful tell-all. Marie`s painful revelations today to Oprah about her teenage son committing suicide. It is Marie`s very first TV interview about her son`s death.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

OSMOND: I said, "Mike, I`m going to be there Monday and it`s going to be OK." But depression doesn`t wait until Monday.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Sad, sad story. OK. Time to move on now to what Angelina Jolie is revealing today. What is it about Brad Pitt that makes her roar? Well, we have got to tell you what really gets Angie really revved up for Brad.

Also this --

(MUSIC PLAYING)

ANDERSON: It`s Gwyneth Paltrow`s big country singing debut and she did it on country`s biggest night of the year, the CMA awards. So how did she do? I think she did really well. But there`s a great debate about Gwyneth`s performance that`s about to happen today right here on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

HAMMER: Time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" -- more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

TEXT: Jane Fonda reveals she is OK after having breast cancer surgery this week. Brad Paisley wins CMA Entertainer of the Year Award.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The CMA Entertainer of the Year is Brad Paisley.

(CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(MUSIC PLAYING)

ANDERSON: Yes, that is Oscar winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow singing country. She made her live TV debut at the CMA awards. The big question today, how did she do?

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood, A.J. Hammer is in New York. We`re going to have more of Gwyneth`s big country debut in just a moment. But first, A.J., LeAnn Rimes is setting the record straight on all those engagement reports.

HAMMER: LeAnn Rimes is basically saying, "I am not engaged to Eddie Cibrian." And they sparked the rampant reports that they were engaged after Eddie recently tweeted a photo of him on bended knee appearing to propose to LeAnn. We`re going to show you what she told us a moment.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT was there at the Country Music Association awards. LeAnn was more than happy to clear up all of the engagement talk.

With me, in New York, is celebrity journalist Ben Widdicombe.

So when SHOWBIZ TONIGHT caught up with LeAnn on the black carpet of the CMA awards last night, she laughed off all those engagement reports. Watch what she told us.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LEANN RIMES, SINGER: I have my mom calling me. I have my friends like totally texting me going, "Why weren`t we the first to know?" I`m like, "This isn`t even true." And people are still reporting it`s true, like, this is a personal thing. And Eddie even joked about it because everybody`s had us engaged like five million times already.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: OK. So she flat out denies the engagement. Ben, I`m thinking because their relationship came out of a cheating scandal, people are just going to be endlessly curious about what`s going to happen next with them.

BEN WIDDICOMBE, CELEBRITY JOURNALIST: Sure. I`m not sure she can say it`s a personal thing. They were two celebrities, both married to other people, who got together very publicly.

Obviously, her mother thinks that it`s likely enough that might be engaged, that she believes it when she reads it in the newspapers. So I`m not sure I agree with her that it`s that private.

HAMMER: Well, you know, it`s part of the deal though when you cheat so publicly and everybody finds out about it -- hey, we want to know what`s going on, I guess.

LeAnn, by the way, not the only big star making big news at the Country Music Association Awards. Gwyneth Paltrow made her rocking country music debut. A lot of people talking today. And Brooke, I thought she actually did a terrific job.

ANDERSON: Yes, I agree, A.J. I did, too. And the audience gave her a standing ovation. And you`ve got to check out some of the reviews. The "New York Post" said this, "Gwyneth delivered a very solid if not sensational performance."

"Entertainment Weekly" wrote strumming an acoustic guitar, looking a little nervous, but singing the movie`s title song in an expressive, surging tone, she didn`t really need the assistance of the wonderful Vince Gill."

Ben, she was of course singing the title song for her upcoming movie, "Country Strong." But Ben, I do think Gwyneth`s got some pipes. What did you think of her performance?

WIDDICOMBE: I thought her voice is very beautiful and it was a very creditable performance. Although, I do get the sense that it was mainly a good performance through a lot of hard work on her part rather than maybe native talent.

And I also wonder whether people are willing to accept a country version of Gwyneth. I mean, she has a reputation of being a little bit aloof and being a little superior with her European couture and her Oscar. So is she suddenly country strong?

(CROSS TALK)

ANDERSON: Oh, is that fair, Ben? I`ve met her. She`s a warm, lovely person, easy to talk to. And I did want to ask you, do you think she`s got a future in country music? She may want to pursue it.

WIDDICOMBE: You know, she did get a standing ovation at the Country Music Association Awards. I wouldn`t buy a country album of hers myself, but maybe millions of others would.

ANDERSON: Ben, ever the contrarian, Widdicombe. We love you. Thanks.

HAMMER: Well, Jessica Simpson is setting the record straight today. Is she really sad that her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, is engaged to Vanessa Minnillo? Reports out there claim that Jessica was actually in tears about this.

ANDERSON: A.J., is Portia De Rossi about to do the same-sex two-step? Does "Dancing with the Stars" want Portia to be part of the first same-sex team on the show? And should she do it?

HAMMER: Shocking new video today of Lisa Rinna`s brand-new lips.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LISA RINNA, ACTRESS: Look close up. All it is, is really, really swollen. Kind of hard to see what it`s going to look like. But inside, I can tell that all the bumps out.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Oh, I`ve got to be careful here. Pucker up because we`re revealing Lisa Rinna`s de-plumped puckers. Oh, I did it. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

Time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" -- more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

HAMMER: All right, Brooke. I think this is pretty provocative. A young girl is on a mission to become Justin Bieber`s girlfriend. Well, in fact, she`s got her mind so set on this she actually wrote a brand-new song called, "Justin Bieber`s Girlfriend." You`ve got to listen to this.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

HAMMER: It`s actually pretty, pretty good. It`s 14-year-old Michaela Wallace`s first song on her Web site. Michaela, who is from Missouri, says that she actually got to meet Justin Bieber backstage in one of his concerts. Hey, I`m thinking you never know.

ANDERSON: Good. She actually met him. So that`s a great start, Michaela.

OK. Now, over to the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Facebook wall where we ask -- is Bristol Palin being on "Dancing with the Stars" overshadowing her mom, Sarah?

Linda M. simply writes, "Nothing can overshadow Sarah." But Marynelle V. adds, "There is no overshadowing between mom and daughter. Just a lot of love and admiration."

HAMMER: Time now for the SHOWBIZ lineup -- here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the hour on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

It`s the thing about Brad Pitt that makes Angelina Jolie roar. You have got to hear what makes Angie really revved up for Brad.

So is Jessica Simpson really sad about her ex, Nick Lachey, getting engaged? Well, Jessica is speaking out today. She is setting the record straight.

Bristol Palin, her "Dancing with the Stars" partner -- are they dating? That`s all the talk. This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN news and views.

It is time for the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker" -- more stories from the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom making news today.

HAMMER: Big news breaking today on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT -- Marie Osmond`s tearful tell-all. Marie`s heartbreaking revelations to Oprah today about her teenage son`s suicide.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

OSMOND: I said, "Mike, I`m going to be there Monday and it`s going to be OK." But depression doesn`t wait until Monday.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: And is Jessica sad about Nick? Jessica Simpson`s ex, Nick Lachey, engaged. How does Jessica really feel about it? Jessica sets the record straight today.

And then, there`s this --

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

RINNA: This is (UNINTELLIGIBLE). I can`t wait. You`ll get a close look at those stitches.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Oh, my goodness. Lisa Rinna showing off her new lips. The shocking and scary new video of Lisa`s lips after her dramatic lip fix surgery.

Plus, breaking today from the "SHOWBIZ News Ticker," Miranda Lambert`s big CMA win and the Simpsons are sticking around.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

HAMMER: Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. It is 30 minutes past the hour. I`m A.J. Hammer coming to you from New York City.

ANDERSON: And I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood with big news breaking today -- Marie`s tearful tell all. In a brand-new emotional and powerful interview with Oprah Winfrey today, Marie Osmond broke her silence just eight months after her 18-year-old son Michael committed suicide.

Osmond revealed everything from how she saws the signs of his dangerous depression to the painful moment she found out her son had died.

Right now, in New York, Sheryl Lee Ralph who is an actress, producer and AIDS activist. Also, right now, in New York, Megan Alexander who is a correspondent for "Inside Edition."

OK, ladies. Watching this interview that Marie Osmond did with Oprah, my heart ached for Marie Osmond. Her son Michael died in February after jumping from his eighth-floor balcony in Los Angeles.

And I`ve got to say among the many moments that broke my heart -- I was shocked to hear Marie describe her last conversation with Michael. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

OSMOND: When I heard him say to me, "I have no friends," it brought back when I went through depression, because you really feel so alone. And if I went through that whole experience just to understand my son, that was worth it to me. But I told him -- and the hardest thing -- tough.

OPRAH WINFREY, HOST, "THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW": Take your time, take your time.

OSMOND: I told him -- I said, "Mike, I`m going to there been Monday and it`s going to be OK." But depression doesn`t wait until Monday.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: It`s absolutely heart-wrenching to watch that. She`s clearly a remarkable woman to speak out publicly so soon after this happened. Sheryl Lee, as a mother, can you imagine what it is taking for Marie to even talk about this?

RALPH: You know something? As a mother, I can only imagine how she feels because there`s one thing that we mothers do not want to do and that is bury our children.

So she is such an incredible woman to be able to come out, speak about this harrowing experience in her life and break the silence.

Because a lot of the diseases that are going around, they grow in silence. And it is only when brave people like Marie speak up and speak out that we get to see real change. And I hope that by her interview, we`ll see that with this teen suicide. It is a major problem.

ANDERSON: She is digging deep to find the strength that, hopefully, like you say, will help other people.

RALPH: That`s right.

ANDERSON: And she also said that she`s speaking out so that people won`t ask her about it and so that people remember her son in the right way. She also says this is the first and last time she`s planning to talk about her son`s suicide. Megan, is it just remarkable how she has handled herself through all of this.

ALEXANDER: The Osmond family -- they`re so loved. They`re such an incredible family, very religious. It reminds us, Brooke, that depression affects everyone. Marie Osmond has been in the spotlight since she was a little girl. And I think she knowing speaking out will help other people. It shows you what a big heart she has --

ANDERSON: Absolutely.

ALEXANDER: That even in her brokenness and pain, she wants to share and relate to other people.

ANDERSON: And in another heartbreaking revelation, ladies, Marie says that she believes in female intuition.

RALPH: Yes.

ANDERSON: And she tells Oprah she really knew something was wrong the night she learned her son had died. Watch this.

OSMOND: We live in a gated area where there is security. And the security guard called and said, "There are some people here to see you. It`s the police, I believe." And I`m like, "What, I`m not there." And he said, "Well, it`s the coroner`s office." And I knew.

WINFREY: You knew that it had to do with Michael?

OSMOND: Yes. And then they came about 20 minutes later to the hotel. Your life changes. I`ve been through some tough things in my life, Oprah. This is -- this is probably the hardest thing I`ve been through.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: It is tough enough that she`s going through this, but to have to go through it in such a public way. Sheryl Lee, how does somebody like Marie even start to pick up the pieces?

RALPH: You know something? This is very hard because, like you said, she is very much a public person and something that is such a deep hurt.

For most of us, we would want to, you know, step away and take this quietly by ourselves. But she has to be out there in front of people and that has got to be so, so very difficult for her.

ANDERSON: Yes. Well, and speaking of that, being in front of people, she addressed another big question today about how she could get back on stage within weeks of her son`s death.

She told Oprah that it was hard but that it was a calculated decision. She said the stage was her safe place and that if she did not get back on stage, that she may never return.

RALPH: Right.

ANDERSON: You know, I believe everybody deals with pain and grief differently. Megan, given Marie has grown up on that stage, it makes perfect sense to me. How about you?

ALEXANDER: Exactly. We all grieve differently. And for her what to one person may seem what they wouldn`t do or awkward, to her it was home. It was her safe place. And some people need a routine in difficult moments to just get back into life and keep on going.

RALPH: Yes.

ANDERSON: Yes. She`s dealing with indescribable anguish and sorrow. Anyone who`s lost a child certainly is. I really admire Marie`s strength, her resilience. We wish her all the best.

RALPH: Yes.

ANDERSON: And we`ve got to move to something a little bit lighter. Jessica Simpson -- a lot lighter. Big news breaking today, A.J. Jessica Simpson speaking out about her ex-husband Nick Lachey`s engagement.

HAMMER: Yes, Brooke. Let`s lighten it up a little bit. I was happy to hear this, by the way. But it may surprise a lot of people today that Jessica Simpson is thrilled that her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, is engaged.

Jessica is slamming all those reports that say that she was upset about Nick`s engagement to Vanessa Minnillo. She tells Ryan Seacrest on his radio show that the tabloids have got it all wrong. Listen.

(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)

RYAN SEACREST, RADIO HOST: Are you guys in a good place and are you happy for him?

JESSICA SIMPSON, SINGER AND ACTRESS: Yes, I`m extremely, extremely happy for him. I don`t know where all those rumors came from. My mom actually called me and told me what everybody was saying that I was saddened and I was just in complete shocked. I couldn`t be more happy for Nick. And you know, our relationship was over a really long time ago.

SEACREST: Yes.

SIMPSON: So it would be nice if everybody could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa. I do and I wish them nothing but the best.

(END AUDIO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, certainly that`s a healthy attitude to have. Sheryl Lee, if Jessica Simpson as moved on, certainly the rest of the world can. Or can it?

RALPH: I`m telling you, we`ve better move on because I know Jessica is not worried about that ex and his new woman. Jessica is one of the most brilliant dumb blondes around, baby, and she is moving on.

What her last boyfriend called her, he said Jessica is like sexual napalm. You go, girl! Move on.

HAMMER: All right. She can move on. But again, back to the idea that, can the rest of the world? Now, Megan, you have experience covering these sorts of things. Look, they`ve been broken up for five years now.

ALEXANDER: Yes, five.

HAMMER: You`d like to believe that we can sort of have all the Nick and Jessica drama behind us. But look at Brad and Jen. I mean, are they set up to be the next Brad and Jen and they`ll forever be linked?

ALEXANDER: Oh, my. I sure hope not. For those of us who are always team Nick, too, we`re happy for the guy. You know, Jessica did the right thing saying this. And truly let`s move on. I hope this is not a Brad and Jen situation.

HAMMER: I can certainly imagine every time she is sitting down with anybody, particularly someone who has the roll up to the wedding. People are going to ask her about it.

RALPH: How do you feel? Let me tell you. She`s got on a new pair of boots and they were made for walking and that`s just what she will do.

HAMMER: All right. So everybody, we want you to pay close attention now. Jessica Simpson is happy. She`s moved on. So can we all.

RALPH: Yes.

HAMMER: Sheryl Lee Ralph, Megan Alexander, thank you, guys. Appreciate it.

ANDERSON: All right. We`ve got big Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt news today. What is it about Brad that makes Angelina just go absolutely crazy? Angelina`s revealing a new bombshell today.

HAMMER: Portia De Rossi on "Dancing with the Stars." What do you think? Is Ellen DeGeneres` wife ready to bust a move on the dance floor as part of the very first same-sex couple on the show?

ANDERSON: There`s outrageous, dramatic new video today of Lisa Rinna`s lips. Did you see this? Lisa Rinna is showing off her de-plumped pucker.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

RINNA: Look at it close up. All it is, is really, really swollen. It`s kind of hard to see it`s what going to look like. But inside can I tell they got all the bumps out.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ANDERSON: We welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Brooke Anderson in Hollywood. A.J. Hammer in New York.

HAMMER: Well, Brooke, there`s big news breaking in "The Buzz Today." Portia De Rossi, Ellen DeGeneres` wife, reveals she would be up for making history on "Dancing with the Stars."

More big "Dancing" news today. Is Bristol Palin dating with her "Dancing with the Stars" partner? Plus, Mel Gibson getting all choked up in court.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(voice-over) Mel chokes up. In the closed court custody face-off with his ex, Oksana Grigorieva, Mel Gibson reportedly choked up while talking about their one-year-old daughter.

According to TMZ, Mel`s voice cracked on the stand during his testimony. The judge has denied Gibson`s request for a gag order against his ex and denied her request to keep Gibson from overnight visits with their daughter. They`re back in court on November 22nd.

Is Bristol dating with a star? Sarah Palin`s daughter sets the record straight on CNN about whether she is dating her "Dancing with the Stars" partner, Mark Ballas. The two tell CNN`s Larry King the rumors are just rumors.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MARK BALLAS, BRISTOL PALIN`S "DANCING WITH THE STARS" PARTNER: Every season people like to say there`s something going on.

(CROSS TALK)

LARRY KING, HOST, "LARRY KING LIVE": I see this in the New York papers almost every other day.

BALLAS: Oh, really?

BRISTOL PALIN, DAUGHTER OF FMR. GOV. SARAH PALIN: Interesting.

KING: No truth?

B. PALIN: No.

BALLAS: No truth to that.

HAMMER: Dancing with same-sex partners? Portia De Rossi just revealed she might become one half of the first same-sex dance couple on "Dancing with the Stars" in the U.S.

According to "E! Online," producers are looking to the Israeli version of the show as it debuts the first same-sex dance pairing of any version of the show worldwide. Ryan Seacrest told De Rossi on his radio show U.S. producers would want De Rossi if they do it. And she says it`s a definite maybe.

PORTIA DE ROSSI, ELLEN DEGENERES` WIFE: I`m not going to pass. Let me think about it.

SEACREST: Then I was wrong.

DE ROSSI: Well, I`m just saying. You know, I used to be a ballet dancer. I`m not saying it`s not completely a fact.

SEACREST: All right. So it`s within the universe of possible?

DE ROSSI: You never know.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

ANDERSON: There you have it. Portia`s not ruling out making reality TV history. And now, to our SHOWBIZ flashpoint -- should Portia join a same-sex team on "Dancing with the Stars"?

Right now, in New York, is celebrity journalist, Ben Widdicombe. Also in New York, Dawn Yanek, who is an editor-at-large for "Life and Style Weekly."

Ben, Dawn, as we know, around 20 million people tune in to "Dancing with the Stars" each week. So if Portia decides to be part of the first same-sex team on "Dancing with the Stars," it definitely would be groundbreaking. Ben, to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, do you think Portia should do it?

WIDDICOMBE: I think she`d be a great choice. Why not? "Dancing with the Stars" has shown a really genius forecasting. They come out every season with something you want to see, something you want to talk about. And I think this would be a great example of pushing it forward a little bit.

ANDERSON: "Dancing with the Stars" judge -- I want to mention Carrie Ann Inaba told "People" magazine that she thinks a same-sex dancing couple would be a great idea. Inaba said that Portia would be a good choice for the show.

Here`s her quote, "I don`t cast the show but I think it would be great and I`d show up in my rainbow colors and fully support it."

Dawn, to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint, what do you think? Should Portia be part of the first same-sex team on "Dancing with the Stars"?

DAWN YANEK, EDITOR-AT-LARGE, "LIFE AND STYLE WEEKLY": If she wants to do it, heck, yes. You know, look, there`s bound to be some controversy surrounding it. But she`s in a really good place in her life. We`ve seen how she`s gone on this book tour that she`s come to terms with her sexuality. She struggled with an eating disorder.

She is a strong woman. On top of it, "Dancing with the Stars" does wonders for people`s careers. It`s certainly not going to hurt hers. And she`s in a really unique position to help people, mainly young people, who may be struggling with their sexuality.

So I think it could be a really good thing. Plus, Ellen loves to bust a move.

ANDERSON: Well, Dawn, you mention there could be -- you mention there could be some controversy.

YANEK: Yes.

ANDERSON: You make a good point because "Dancing with the Stars" kind of would run a risk of maybe alienating some viewers if they did this. Ben, do you think America is ready for a same-sex team on "Dancing with the Stars"?

WIDDICOMBE: Well, you know, I think it goes back to the same story, that same-sex couples and homosexual people exist and they`re part of the community. Therefore, they have a right to be on television and a right to be included in any other place that heterosexual couples might be included. So why not?

ANDERSON: Dawn, Portia said that, you know, she used to do ballet dancing. So I think the bigger question here may be, not who her partner would be, but if she`s comfortable with the concept of ballroom dancing? What do you think?

YANEK: I think she could maybe win it all if she`s got a dancing background. She`s absolutely gorgeous. On top of it, I think she would be incredibly graceful on the dance floor.

Also, Ellen -- we know she loves to dance. I think this will be a win-win, hands down.

ANDERSON: Yes. They can practice at home. And heck, if Bristol Palin can make it to the top four -- you`re right. Maybe Portia can win it all. Ben Widdicombe, Dawn Yanek, thank you both. Good to see you.

And now, I want to hear from you. It is our exclusive SHOWBIZ TONIGHT poll -- "Portia De Rossi: Should she be part of the first same-sex team on "Dancing with the Stars"? Vote right now at CNN.com/ShowbizTonight. E- mail us -- here`s the address -- showbiztonight@cnn.com.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

ANDERSON: Breaking news today -- Angelina Jolie reveals what gets her most revved up about Brad Pitt. In the brand-new issue of "Vogue" magazine, Jolie thinks Brad is one super-sexy dad. I`ll say.

Angelina says, "I think he`s an extremely sexy, extremely handsome and the most sexy. When I think about him, I just think about the man who`s such a great friend and such an extraordinary father. And that`s when I fall, you know, when I have my moments of getting -- roar -- caught up in how much I love him. It`s usually when I see him with the children. The December issue of "Vogue" hits newsstands November 23rd.

And from Angelina Jolie to Lisa Rinna. A.J., when it comes to both of them, people love talking about their lips. Yes, Lisa Rinna, well, she used a surgeon to plump her pucker, and then she had her lip reduced.

Today, we`re revealing the results. This is dramatic video. On her brand-new reality TV show with her husband, Harry Hamelin, Lisa took us all on her lip-fix journey. I`ve got to tell you, I`m actually impressed with Lisa for sharing with the world the painful lip surgery. But I want you to get ready right now. Here are Lisa`s lips after they were plumped and trimmed down

Look at close up. All of this is really, really swollen. It`s kind of hard to see what it`s going to look like. But inside, I can tell, they got all the bumps out. They said they made an accordion open. Now, it feels like an accordion closed. It`s all tight. It`s all tight.

But look at how swollen -- I mean, my top lip is clearly so big right now. I can only do this. I can`t really chew.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I`ve got to tell you the end result is pretty good. Well, Wednesday, we asked you to vote on our SHOWBIZ TONIGHT exclusive poll. The final results -- "Reality TV Showdown: Bristol on `Dancing with the Stars` versus Sarah Palin`s `Alaska` -- who is the bigger star?"

Look at this. More evenly split than I thought it would be. Fifty- nine percent of you say Bristol`s mom, Sarah, is the bigger star; 41 percent Bristol.

Some E-mails including Emma in Florida writing, "We adore her. She`s matured so much since she`s been on `Dancing with the Stars.`"

K. in Arizona writing, "Bristol Palin will never overshadow her mother. She does not have her mother`s personality."

Now, keep in mind, you can vote right now for the most provocative celebrity of the week.

ANDERSON: Yes, you can. The nominees are LeAnn Rimes who cheated on her husband and just came out with a new song about cheating women. Kanye West finally apologizing to President Bush for implying that he`s a racist. And the entire Jackson family -- their controversial interview with Oprah.

HAMMER: Send a text to 45688. Type SBT1 to vote for LeAnn Rimes; text SBT2 for the Jackson family; SBT3 if you want to vote for Kanye West. Or you can vote on our Facebook page, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT HLN.
