Aired September 23, 2011 - 20:00   ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Dancing the cha-cha-cha, Nancy Grace and her partner, Tristan MacManus!

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Nancy and Tristan, you`re still in jeopardy. We`ll find out your fate later.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Metta and Peta, Nancy and Tristan, on this first week of competition, the couple with the lowest overall combined total and therefore leaving right now is -- Metta and Peta.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I want to take Nancy Grace to the club (ph).

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, that I would pay to see.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

NANCY GRACE, HOST: OK, you know what? Just watching that again, my stomach is hurting. Good evening. I`m Nancy Grace. I want to thank you for being with us.

Season 13, "Dancing With the Stars," tonight, the first dancer eliminated, LA Laker Ron Artest AKA Metta World Peace -- what`s that about? -- he is with us, taking your calls. Also with us tonight, "Dancing" champion Helio Castroneves, former "Dancing" semifinalist, reality star Lisa Rinna, season 11 finalist, Kyle Massey (ph), contestant Trista Sutter, professional dancer and partner to Kendra, Louis van Amstel, and superstar mom Kris Jenner, mother to the Kardashians and contestant Rob Kardashian. We are all taking your calls.

I want to go first out to Metta World Peace. All right, Ron, first of all, let me just say I`m going to -- you`ll always be Ron Artest to me. And when there would be functions or after practices or at rehearsal, Artest and myself were kind of fish out of water, so we and Chaz Bono, the three of us, would kind of glob (ph) off in the corner.

And I miss you, guy! I really do. Is your hair still dyed blond? And what was that all about?

METTA WORLD PEACE, ELIMINATED FROM COMPETITION (via telephone): No, I wanted to kind of to look like an old man, you know, like, Hey, young fellow, you young boys don`t know nothing about, you know, the old school these days. And I was trying to take that approach along with (INAUDIBLE) Chippendale. So I wanted to be more like an old school Chippendale.

GRACE: An old school Chippendale? OK, that is explaining a lot, Ron Artest. Now, I want to tell you that my left knee is totally scraped up right now because -- see if you can play it, Liz -- I`ve been trying to do that dance move where you go down on your knees and you "Uh, uh," and you try to go forward and you go "Uh, uh," and you do it again. I was doing it -- oh, there it is. I almost can`t look at it. But I was doing it in rehearsal hall today, and Tristan said, Nancy, please stop. Please. Leave that to Artest and Peta. Do not do that anymore. But I got a totally scraped up knee.

All right, Metta, when you and I and our pros, Tristan and Peta, were standing there, I felt like I had swallowed hot lava and it was going down my whole body.

METTA: Yes.

GRACE: You seemed happy. Why?

METTA: Because I was happy because, like -- I mean, I always thought you did well. I couldn`t see the mistakes that you said you made. So I knew you did well. So I`m, like, Oh, no they`re not taking Nancy off the show. And if they would have took you off the show, I would went to Lynn (ph) and I would have said, You idiot! You idiot! What you are you doing? (INAUDIBLE)

GRACE: OK, when you were standing down there, you didn`t seem the least bit nervous. And what about that point -- see if you can pull it up, Liz. There`s Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, baby Kardashian, as I call him behind his back. -- Kardashian and his partner is up at the top. He`s got a great dance pro. Myself and Tristan. And World Peace, Metta World Peace, and his partner, Peta -- we were all standing there. And then we all had to come down that long staircase.

What was going through your mind then?

METTA: At that time, I was, like, You know what? May the best couple win. You know, I was having a blast. And I`m -- honestly, I kind of feel bad for Peta because she`s such a beautiful young lady and she`s such a professional. And I was just out there just having a blast and having fun, and I wanted to make sure I entertained the people. And all I was thinking about is what color outfit I`m going to wear next week, the whole time.

GRACE: OK, well, you know...

(CROSSTALK)

GRACE: That`s why you and I are very different people because I thought I was going to start crying! Liz, I hate to refer back to it, but that part where -- look at Tristan! He`s dancing his heart out! Oh! That part where we`re standing down there, still in jeopardy, it was all -- people were saying, Why aren`t you smiling? I was about to start crying.

OK, I`m going to go to Lisa Rinna, semi-finalist. She made to it the top four "Dancing With the Stars" season 2. Lisa, were you ever held in jeopardy?

LISA RINNA, SEASON 2 SEMIFINALIST: Yes. Louis van Amstel was my brilliant partner, and we were held in jeopardy. And we were in the bottom two, also. So when I hear this -- when I hear that music to this day, I still get nervous and feel like hot lava is going down my throat. It is terrifying and always will be.

GRACE: And you know, another thing, Lisa -- I don`t know if they did this to you, but I looked over at Brooke and Tom Bergeron, and they were looking at me like, Oh, poor, poor Nancy and Tristan. We really hate -- they had these big sad looks on their -- and they were looking right at me! Did they do that to you?

RINNA: Yes, they did! They did do that to me. And of course, everybody looks at you like that. During that day, you don`t know who`s going home. And you get everybody looking at you cross-eyed and you think, Oh, he`s looking at me funny. The producer looked at me funny. I`m going home. And it really is terrifying. And people just don`t know what everybody goes through. It is really tough. And I give you so much credit for even putting yourself out there to do this.

GRACE: You know, I got to tell you something, Lisa. I got to tell you something. People ask me, you know, Why did you do this? And you know, I want my twins -- they`re 3, Lisa, John David and Lucy -- to be able to look back at all the weeks, God willing, that I was on and say, Oh, look, Mommy can dance. Not, Look, Mommy got thrown off week two. That`s not the message I want to send.

And with me right now is Lisa Rinna`s partner, the professional dancer on eight seasons of "Dancing With the Stars," founder of LABlastfitness.com, Louis van Amstel. Louis, thank you for being with us.

LOUIS VAN AMSTEL, SEASON 8 PROFESSIONAL DANCER: Thank you for having me, Nancy.

GRACE: OK, let me see Louis. Everybody wants -- there he is! OK, Louis, on the hot seat.

VAN AMSTEL: Hi. I`m here.

GRACE: You had Kendra -- you had Kendra and you had Lisa. Compare and contrast.

VAN AMSTEL: Yes. They -- there is a difference. When Lisa and I were on...

GRACE: Oh, yes, you had Trista, too! You had Trista.

VAN AMSTEL: Trista, yes. Yes. And I don`t know if Lisa and Trista can hear me, but -- Lisa and I, we had a great season. I mean, we had a very emotional season when we got voted off the last step before the final. I mean, we are friends for life. I mean, we had such a great season. It was awesome.

GRACE: Wait! That doesn`t sound like a good bonding experience to get thrown off.

VAN AMSTEL: No, it never does. But the thing -- and it gets worse when you actually make it farther because then you want it even more.

GRACE: OK. Compare and contrast.

(CROSSTALK)

GRACE: Well, you know, I had to just go home and cry after I was held in jeopardy. I was held in jeopardy, and it took them forever to make a decision.

OK, joining me right now, Trista Sutter, contestant, "Dancing With the Stars" season 1. She was also partnered with Louis. Hi, Trista. You know, I feel like I know you because every time I opened a magazine, there you are with your husband and your children, and you`re usually wearing a bikini.

(LAUGHTER)

GRACE: And I don`t know how that works. But there you are. You got this little bitty bikini on. You`re super-skinny...

(CROSSTALK)

GRACE: ... firefighter husband.

(CROSSTALK)

GRACE: And you`re also usually doing, like, a triathlon or something like that.

TRISTA SUTTER, SEASON 1 CONTESTANT (via telephone): We actually are in Utah right now. He`s going to be competing in the (INAUDIBLE) national championships. This is triathlon. So yes, we`re in the mood, in the triathlon mode right now.

GRACE: Take a look at Trista there. That`s season 1. I`m hearing in my ear we are now hooked up to Kris Jenner, mother and manager of the Kardashians. You got to be living under a rock if you don`t know about the Kardashians and the big wedding that just went down, one of many. Also mother of the baby Kardashian, Rob, who, if you ever watched the Kardashian reality shows, that`s him sitting there playing one of those games. He`s a very handsome young man. And he apparently can dance.

Welcome, Kris. Give us all some advice.

KRIS JENNER, MOTHER OF CONTESTANT ROB KARDASHIAN: Oh, thank you. Hi, Nancy. (INAUDIBLE) talking to the competition?

GRACE: Yes, give me some tips!

JENNER: Well, I don`t really have any. I would not do well in this competition because what you guys went through on Tuesday night would have killed me. The stress is unbearable. I don`t know how you guys do this week after week.

GRACE: Well, Kris, my father, who is a heart patient, was on the front row. And he told me when I was held in jeopardy with my partner, Tristan, he thought I was having a heart attack. What did you think when you had your baby up there at the top of the stairs as one of the three that were about to get the boot?

JENNER: I felt so bad. And he -- you know, I encouraged him to do the show because I thought it would boost his self-esteem and make him (INAUDIBLE) It`s a great thing to go through and a great experience. And I think I just blocked the whole elimination process out of my mind with Kim.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: (INAUDIBLE) that coveted mirror ball trophy!

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Nancy Grace!

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What do you know about the cha-cha?

GRACE: I know one, two, three, cha-cha.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Look at her go, Nancy, shimmy through the first round.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You have it. You`re light on your feet. You`ve got timing.

GRACE: I want to say thank you because there is no way I would be back next week if you guys hadn`t voted.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: How is Tristan as a coach?

GRACE: Exactly like that, except with a lot of yelling thrown in.

(CROSSTALK)

GRACE: Case closed.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We`re back in the courtroom.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Nancy`s doing it!

GRACE: I promise not to let you down Monday night.

I was so nervous. My knees and my hands were shaking. And (INAUDIBLE)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: (INAUDIBLE)

GRACE: Yes, for a minute. For a minute. (INAUDIBLE)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: (INAUDIBLE) I think that`s the time when you kind of have to think to yourself (INAUDIBLE) enjoy yourself (INAUDIBLE)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: We are taking your calls. Everybody, there is the season 13 "Dancing With the Stars" cast. There is my partner, Irishman Tristan MacManus. And we were really at the bottom of the barrel on Tuesday when we were held in jeopardy. We were right there with Ron Artest, also known now as Metta World Peace, who got thrown off. And it was -- it was awful. It was excruciating down there waiting to be canned.

We are taking your calls. I want to go quickly to Trista Sutter, contestant, partnered with Louis van Amstel. Trista, you know, I know that you were on season 1, but is it all coming back to you, now that you`re seeing the video and we`re talking about it, that feeling that you were about to be thrown off?

SUTTER: Oh! You`re making me nauseous. Yes. It really kicks you in the gut. And you know, it was the first season and we didn`t quite know what we were getting into. I mean, I got a call from, you know, the execs at ABC saying, We really want you to do this ballroom dancing show. And I was, like, What are you talking about? Like, You really think that America`s going to get into it? Hello?

Yes, they are so into it and love it, and -- for obvious reasons. I mean, the glitz, the glamour, the dancing. All the professionals are so incredibly talented, including of course, my partner, Louis van Amstel.

But you know, it`s so much fun to -- it was so much fun to be a part of, and I`ll always be grateful for the experience and being asked to be part of the show. But yes, it is gut-wrenching thinking that -- I always say I was beat in a dancing competition -- and I was actually a dancer at one point in my life. I danced for the Miami Heat. But I was beat in a dancing competition by none other than a professional boxer, Evander Holyfield. So there you go.

(LAUGHTER)

GRACE: Joining me right now out of Miami, Florida, is Helio Castroneves, winner, season 5 -- the winner! Helio, thank you for being with us.

HELIO CASTRONEVES, SEASON 5 WINNER: Thanks for having me, Nancy.

GRACE: It`s great to talk to you. You got a lot of admirers all over the country -- before and after "Dancing With the Stars." When people come up to talk to you, do they want to know about "Dancing With the Stars"?

CASTRONEVES: You know, the funny thing, I listen to everybody talking -- we all go through the same kind of feeling, you know? It`s kind of funny because -- I`m becoming a big fan of the show, you know? I didn`t know much about it before. Hey, I`m a race car driver, you know? All of a sudden, when they asked me to do the show, I`m, like, What am I going to do, you know? My job is actually -- I`m sitting in the race car, you know? I -- the hip doesn`t move much, you know? It`s just like I`m just sitting, but it was kind of, like...

GRACE: Well, hey, I`ve got news for you, Helio! Your hips were moving!

OK, out to the lines. Pete in California. Hi, Pete. What`s your question?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes. I was wondering, Nancy, do you get to pick the song and dance that you and Tristan do?

GRACE: Oh, Pete! Let me tell you something. We do not. We get told the dance. We get given the song. All I knew my song ever said was "Cry baby," "Girl, I didn`t mean it." I never could understand what the guy was even saying! But I`m ready for the quickstep come Monday night with a dance, a partner and a song that I love.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Nancy did well yesterday. And exactly what her coach told her to do, she did. And I didn`t do what my coach told me to do, you know? And I was -- but I did do that, yes. I wish I could have got a chance to (INAUDIBLE) but I don`t know. Don`t put that on CNN.

(LAUGHTER)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: If he hadn`t dragged me through it, I would still be out in the middle of the dance floor right now, wondering what happened.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And that`s where Tristan messed up, right there.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: That`s where Tristan messed up.

GRACE: You know that move where I rip my jacket off? I do that every night when I get off the set. That`s (INAUDIBLE)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Metta and Peta.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Are you providing a constant neck massage? Is that part of the partnership?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: No, I`m here just in readiness because Nancy doesn`t let me talk.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Nancy, your adorable 3-year-old twins were in the audience last night. What did they think of Mommy`s first dance?

GRACE: Well, when I got home, I thought they`d be asleep. They were not. They were excited. And they kept dancing until this morning. They were still up dancing this morning.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: They are so cute.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I know that you love our Nancy Grace.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And she was -- she was almost like (INAUDIBLE)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I know. I know. Yes. I mean, it`s always -- I think you -- you know, you bond with everybody. I want to call it the cast because it feels like we`re, you know, all working on the same project. And you don`t want to see anybody go home, especially Nancy Grace. Let`s talk to the DA.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: You know what? I`m going to have to bring in a shrink! You`re seeing a lot of the cast members, season 13. And joining us tonight, finalists, contestants, winners of "Dancing With the Stars." Come Monday night, I`m going to take to the floor to try to redeem myself from the cha-cha with a new dance, the quickstep.

To Dr. Bethany Marshall, psychoanalyst and author. Bethany, everybody on our show tonight are winners or they are experts in their fields. A lot of them are famous. You got a race car driver, you got a reality star, models, you name it. And they all say universally when they go out on the dance floor, it all goes right down the tubes. You`re at square one, ground zero. Why is that? That I could try it -- with these hands, I could try a serial killer, a rapist, a child molester, a drug lord. No problem. But out there on the dance floor, it`s a whole `nother ballgame.

BETHANY MARSHALL, PSYCHOANALYST: Nancy, you know what? I see so much in my private practice that people come in and they know how to excel in the one role that they`ve been given in life. But when they have to step outside that role, it can be extremely difficult. And this is why the audience loves you and loves all you because they see you being brave enough to step outside your role and to excel at something different.

A lot of people don`t know how to compete, and when we all watch you compete with grace and with charm and laughing and you`re not getting your needs met at each other`s expense, you`re getting your needs met together. The competition is a part of the team. Everybody loves that.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: I was so nervous. My knees and my hands were shaking. And I misheard them for a moment and thought they actually said Nancy and Tristan, you`re going -- that`s what I thought I heard. And I went -- my whole self got hot.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

GRACE: My partner, Tristan MacManus and I were held in jeopardy.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You`re still in jeopardy. We`ll find out your fate later.

GRACE: And I will never forget what it felt standing there, waiting to be thrown off after just one dance.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Matta and Pita.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I have to say I give props to Nancy Grace.

GRACE: I would say they got the most heart.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The happiest contestant I`ve ever seen when you are out there dancing.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We`re having fun. Doesn`t matter what happens.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Are you, understanding all that?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Everyone is great. At the minute everyone is competition.

GRACE: You did what? Do you understand that? Has anyone ever told you, you kind a sound like a leprechaun a little bit?

I want to thank you four calls and emails.

I want to say thank you because there is no way I would have been back next week if you guys hadn`t voted. He performed the routine flawlessly. I made a boo-boo which the judges were only too happy to point out and if it had not been for your support and your votes, I wouldn`t have made it. So thank you, everybody, on facebook and twitter. And I promise not to let you down Monday night with the quickstep.

TRISTAN MACMANUS, NANCY GRACE`S PARTNER, DANCING WITH THE STARS: We appreciate you.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

GRACE: Yes. Operative word is quick in that quickstep and that shot of Tristan and myself is after seven hours of practicing the quickstep yesterday. And we had just come out again. I just can`t thank you enough for calling in and voting. We wouldn`t still be in the competition if it were not for you.

Out to the lines, Joe in Florida. Hi, Joe, what`s your question?

JOE, CALLER, FLORIDA: Hi, Nancy. You guys are doing great.

GRACE: Thank you.

JOE: I read in the magazine you guys train all these hours of the day. My question is how many days a week do you actually have to train. Is it just a few?

GRACE: That`s a good question, Joe. Here`s the way it shakes down. The first, I think it was two weeks of competition. You had to take one day off a week and you could not practice I believe it was over five hours but now all bets are off. And, you know, the cha-cha blew my mind. I thought I loved it. The quickstep, I liked a whole lot better. Although the steps are more intricate than in the cha-cha.

But we`re doubling down on the quickstep, Joe. And let me tell you, of course you can ask any working mother in America how easy it is to work and raise children. It is not easy. Being away from them during the rehearsals is the most difficult part for me. But, yes. We`re working now up to seven and eight hours a day on the quickstep.

Out to the line. Eugene in California. Hi Eugene, what`s your question?

EUGENE, CALLER, CALIFORNIA: Yes, Nancy. I was wondering do the producers give you any sense how they combine the scores between the judges and polling that goes on and how you guys stacks up.

GRACE: You know, Eugene in California, that`s a good question. Because I try to read what they give us about it and I still don`t really understand it. In my mine Eugene it`s 50-50 judge versus call-ins and votes but there`s also something about a share.

Let me go to Kyle Massey, the runner up "Dancing with the Stars" season 11. Kyle joining us from L.A. Kyle, thank you for being with us.

KYLE MASSEY, RUNNER UP, DANCING WITH THE STARS SEASON 11: Well, thank you for having me, Miss Nancy.

GRACE: I haven`t been called Miss Nancy since I flew out of Atlanta. Kyle, you were ever held in jeopardy?

MASSEY: I was born and raised in Atlanta. I`m sorry, what you say? I`m sorry.

GRACE: Were you ever held in jeopardy?

MASSEY: Yes, I was held in jeopardy. And that is probably one of the scariest moments of "Dancing with the Stars" Yes, it is the worst.

GRACE: Do you still remember what it felt like?

MASSEY: Oh, yes. Definitely. I remember every single moment of it. As soon as you step out there, the audience is hushed. The red lights are just more dramatic and then the bases bumped and there`s the silence. And Tom you know just monotone voice just makes it all scary. It`s like it`s intense you know.

GRACE: Well, how many times were you held in jeopardy?

MASSEY: I believe like two or three times. You know, I don`t remember exactly how many times, but every single time is different you know it`s like. Because as the weeks go on, it just you want it more and more and more and it gets more serious and you just dedicate more time to it. And it becomes more emotional than just a physical aspect of dance. It`s so intense. But it`s the bomb. I love it.

GRACE: Ok, question Kyle Massey, did you ever cry?

MASSEY: Did I cry? No, I didn`t cry.

GRACE: Did you ever cry?

MASSEY: No.

GRACE: Never. Not once. Never in practice after seven or eight hours practicing the quickstep and your high heels were hurting and your feet were bruising and you had on bandages you never had one little tear come down not that I`m confessing but never once your eyes didn`t even get moist? You know Kyle -

MASSEY: You know I thought about it.

GRACE: You know when I was down there on that front step about to be thrown off and sent home packing. All everybody said why weren`t you smiling? Why weren`t you happy? I was like just trying not to cry.

MASSEY: Yes. It`s intense. People think it`s just a television show. Like when people watch it, it`s not a television show. For us it is scary. It is very scary.

GRACE: Kyle, did you ever understood, ever understand how the voting works?

MASSEY: Well, I believe it`s 50 percent judge votes and then it`s 50 percent America votes. So they combine the total of you know judges` scores and viewers` votes together. And then whoever has the lowest overall total goes home that week.

GRACE: For that particular night. To A.J. Hammer, host of HLN "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT". A.J., you know you love to grill me about "Dancing with the Stars." I mean if I am going to ask you a question you just kind a like fire one back I mean. Do you understand how the voting works, A.J.?

A.J. HAMMER, HOST, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT: Well, I was pretty much nailed that here`s not all that comforting.

GRACE: A.J., thanks for the great shot of me after seven hours of the quickstep standing out, outside somebody`s lawn. I was looking really good there.

HAMMER: But let me tell you.

GRACE: At least Tristan looked good.

HAMMER: That was my pleasure doing that, sure. Now, here`s the deal with the voting.

GRACE: Now, how was the voting works?

HAMMER: It`s really not that complicated. And Kyle basically had it right. The judges` scores get added up and that becomes a certain percentage of all the judges` scores for night. And then all of the voter tabulations from people at home. They are calling in, and by the way people can call-up to 12 times. That all gets tabulated as it own percentage of the total votes. So, whoever has the lowest combined between the judges, and the viewer voting, that is how it works.

And I just can I talk to you just for a second, Nancy? Because I`ve been talking to you about doing "Dancing with the Stars" for a few weeks now. A few weeks ago you asked me, no you commanded me, to pledge my support and loyalty to you so I`m doing that.

But here`s what I need to you do for me and I think for all of America. You need to start cutting yourself a break. You have the lovely Lisa Rinna on right now who was a semifinalist but she was in the bottom two on the show. Kyle Massey also in jeopardy but pushed on through.

So, Nancy, stop thinking that you`re not going to push on through because you`re in the bottom two. It was nail biting in did. I had Kelly Monaco, first season winner on "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" last night and she said to me the biggest battle, biggest problem that people have for the show is the battle that they do with themselves. Plus you got to watch out for the Kardashian sisters and what they will tweet about you.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The clock here constant neck on shoes and part of it?

MACMANUS: I`m here just in readiness because Nancy doesn`t let me talk. So, as soon as she talks (inaudible)?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Good.

MACMANUS: A real one. Real one.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Nancy Grace made her debut on season 13 of "Dancing with the Stars".

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You know what? Just go out there and have fun.

GRACE: All I know how to do is try a murder case and put a bad guy behind bars.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Macgrace.

GRACE: Nancy Grace, ballroom dancer.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What I`ve noticed and I did your show last week with Tristan, you`re very whiney. You`re already very whiney. We haven`t even started this. I mean, for Pete`s sake, right Tristan?

GRACE: Hey listen, Tristan, you have to put up with me tomorrow so watch what you say.

HAMMER: I voted for you not because you essentially threatened me but I thought you were terrific.

GRACE: I`ll never forget what it felt like standing there. My hands never shook since my first murder trial.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

GRACE: Welcome back everybody. We are taking your calls and with me, the superstars of "Dancing with the Stars" going all the way back to season one.

I want to go to a special guest joining us out of Hidden Hills, California, it`s Kris Jenner. You all know her, mother manager of the Kardashians. Her daughter Kim competed in "Dancing with the Stars" season 7, I believe. She co-stars in the E network "Keeping up with the Kardashians." And you all know she`s married to Olympic gold medalist, Bruce Jenner. She manages all those Kardashians careers and they are all now superstars. And you`re seeing now her son, her baby who is on "Dancing with the Stars" with me. He did the Viennese Waltz I believe last week. I don`t know what is this guy coming out this week? I know I got the quickstep operative word Tris is quick. I lost Tristan in your right, later when we get there, hooked back up again.

But we are taking your calls and I want to go to Joe in New Jersey. Hi, Joe what`s your question?

JOE, CALLER, NEW JERSEY: Hey, Nancy, I just love you and you got spunk. Where were you when you got the call to do "Dancing with the Stars"? Tell me what happened.

GRACE: Oh, man. I will never forget that. I was on the way to the courthouse in Orlando on the tot mom trial. The trial hadn`t started yet. I forgot why we were going there. Maybe jury selection or pretrial motion. And somebody called me on my cell phone and I thought I was being punked by Ashton Kutcher. I could not believe with these beautiful celebrities, stars, they want ad trial lawyer, a mommy like myself dancing with all these stars. And you know it`s still amazing to me.

I want to go back now to Helio Castroneves, winner of "Dancing with the Stars" season five. You all know him as a famous race car driver. Now, you were telling me something, Helio, about how you sit behind a wheel and your hips don`t move. That`s not what I saw.

HELIO CASTRONEVES, WINNER, DANCING WITH THE STARS SEASON FIVE: Well, let me tell you. I didn`t know I could do what it did, but that`s a lot to do with the listening, you know, to the partner. Trust me, it`s a very hard to do it. But I was listening. My partner was Julia Huff. And she very, very tough, very difficult but she knew how to handle the whole thing you know. And I guess you know I wasn`t trying to be the best dancer. I just don`t the first one to be eliminated.

So, I guess all that, you know, kind of like expectation, it was always low, so was growing and growing. And the main thing is you got to actually look good in terms of, you know, smiling and, again, you got to do the right dance but sometimes if you make a mistake you can`t show it in your face. You know I learned that later on the competition. That if you make a mistake nobody knows your choreography except the judge and probably obviously your partner. But other than that you know you just got keep having fun and that was, I guess my goal. I know it`s hard.

GRACE: Man. I`m looking at video of you right now and you`re absolutely looking like you`re having fun. OK. I got Kris Jenner back.

Kris, question. You got a lot of kid. I`m putting that al out there. They are successful in their right. Now you have the baby Kardashian, its like your young handsome son, I`m looking at him right now. I just got two and it`s all I can do to work and raise them and now dance. Give me some advice.
