Cadaver Dogs Hit in Search for 2-Year-Old Bianca Jones

Aired December 13, 2011 - 20:00   ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

NANCY GRACE, HOST: Breaking news tonight, live, Michigan. 9:25 AM, Daddy driving along a busy thoroughfare with his 2-year-old girl, Bianca. Suddenly, broad daylight, the Mercury four-door carjacked by two unknown armed assailants. Daddy calls 911. Within minutes, cops spot the car less than a mile away, the car in mint condition, the baby gone. Daddy lawyers up and fails a polygraph. And as of tonight, he`s yet to go out and search for his little girl.

Bombshell tonight. As we go to air, we confirm positive cadaver dog hits on little Bianca`s carseat and in Daddy`s apartment. As witnesses allegedly come forward after we air Bianca`s story, they tell cops they see Daddy park the Mercury in an alley and then just walk away just before he reports Bianca gone.

And tonight, did we cold bust Daddy in a lie? Tonight, Mommy with us live, taking your calls. Where is 2-year-old Bianca?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

D`ANDRE LANE, FATHER OF MISSING CHILD: I was on my way to her mother`s house (INAUDIBLE)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Heartbreaking mystery.

BANIKA JONES, MOTHER OF MISSING CHILD: I believe my daughter is alive.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Police investigators believe strongly little Bianca is dead.

LANE: I was yelling, My daughter is in the car. My daughter is in the car.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The cadaver dog did make a positive hit on odors of decomposition in multiple locations, leading investigators to believe the worst.

GRACE: Give me a description of the assailant.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Don`t you have a composite that you can post?

GRACE: I don`t know what color their outfits were. I don`t know how tall they are. I don`t know what the other one even looks like.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: (INAUDIBLE) investigators doubt Bianca`s father`s story.

LANE: There`s a gun pointed at me. My daughter`s in the car. I`ve been just trying to give them everything that I could. I don`t know what else they want from me, but I`m giving them everything that they asked for.

I`m the bad guy right now.

GRACE: His story...

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We answered those questions.

GRACE: ... stinks. It stinks to high heaven!

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Good evening. I`m Nancy Grace. I want to thank you for being with us. Bombshell tonight, live, Michigan. 9:25 AM, Daddy on a busy thoroughfare with his 2-year-old girl, Bianca. Broad daylight, the Mercury four-door carjacked by two armed assailants. Cops zero in on the car. The car in mint condition, the baby gone.

At this hour, we confirm cadaver dogs hit on Bianca`s carseat and in Daddy`s apartment. Witnesses come forward after we air Bianca`s story, telling cops they see Daddy park the car in an alley and walk away just before Daddy reports Bianca gone.

Now, witnesses coming forward, cadaver dogs hitting on Bianca`s carseat and more. In the minutes before I take to air, we learn more from a CNN affiliate.

Out to Alexis Weed, our producer on the story. Everybody, we`re taking your calls live. And joining us is Bianca`s mommy. Alexis, I understand that Daddy tells one of the local CNN affiliates that when Bianca`s found, she may have bruises?

ALEXIS WEED, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER: Right, Nancy. This is coming from local WDIV. They are saying that police are questioning why the father told police that if Bianca is found, she might have bruising on her legs. They`re also saying police are questioning the father saying that Bianca was quite ill the morning that she was reported missing.

GRACE: Take a listen to what was stated on DIV.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: D`Andre Lane said he was carjacked and the stranger took Bianca. Investigators say they are highly skeptical of Lane`s story, wondering if there was a carjacking at all. They`re also questioning why the father told police if his daughter was found, she may have bruising on her legs, and why Lane said the 2-year-old was very sick the morning of the alleged carjacking.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: You know, I noticed that you just mentioned, Alexis, that he claims she was sick, as well?

WEED: Right. That`s what we`re hearing. Now, we haven`t been able to confirm that independently with police, but we`re hearing that, yes, now there are reports that she was sick, too, that day.

GRACE: Joining us, Joe Gomez, KTRH news director. Joe, a cadaver dog and two witnesses? Now, remember Daddy`s story, Joe Gomez, is that he`s going to check -- and I had to just, like, dig this out of him. I had to pull it out. And I`m a JD, not a DVM (ph). I don`t know how to pull teeth! It took me a full hour to get it out of Daddy, with his lawyer jumping in every 30 seconds, that he was going to check on financial aid, that he is an education student.

Then I find out that he never even went into the building to check on the financial aid, blah, blah, blah, blah. Now, after we aired that, we learn witnesses come forward claiming what, Gomez?

JOE GOMEZ, KTRH: Well, that`s right, Nancy. One witness says that he was peering out of his window when he saw Daddy apparently pull into a dead end in an alleyway, Nancy, and then just get out of his car and simply walk away.

Another witness says that he saw Daddy driving where he was allegedly carjacked and he was just driving the car all by himself. Then we learn the cadaver dogs get a hit in the baby seat and in Daddy`s home. Nancy, there`s a lot going on here that simply isn`t adding up in his favor. No wonder he doesn`t want to be in the public eye!

GRACE: OK, Liz, let`s show Daddy when we brought -- we I questioned him, at his lawyer`s request, about how Daddy had been treated. Let`s take a look at Daddy sitting there. He then proceeds -- if you can pull that video, Liz -- to start crying. But only when we ask about how he, Daddy, has been treated.

He keeps going on and on, Melanie Scott, writer with "The Detroit Free Press," to tell me how much he wants to help, how much he wants to help police. But as of tonight, Melanie Scott, he`s yet to go out to search for his little girl. What do you know, Melanie?

MELANIE SCOTT, "DETROIT FREE PRESS" (VIA TELEPHONE): Well, Nancy, good evening. I wanted to just update you on -- right now, the Wayne County prosecutor`s office has received a warrant request in connection with the disappearance of Bianca. And Detroit police and the prosecutor`s office will not say who`s named in that warrant request. But you know, that has a lot of people wondering what is going on here.

GRACE: And at this hour, no warrant has been issued.

This is what we know tonight. I`m going to go Banika Jones. This is Bianca`s mother, joining us exclusively out of Michigan. Ms. Jones thank you for being with us. A question on a lot of people`s mind is why did the dad have visitation with 2-year-old Bianca that day? What happened?

BANIKA JONES, MISSING CHILD`S MOTHER (via telephone): Well, Ms. Grace, I`m going to tell you that Bianca and her father have never had restricted visitation or anything like that. She had been visiting with her father all that week since her birthday, and they had been going out and hanging out, doing activities and visiting with family.

GRACE: So this was not out of the realm of normalcy, this was a normal visitation with him. When did you become suspicious, Ms. Jones, that everything was not just right that evening?

JONES: Well, Ms. Grace, I never became suspicious. I was called and told there was a carjacking, that my daughter had been kidnapped. And my day went from normal to horror in just seconds. So there was never any suspicion or anything like that. I`d spoken to my daughter the night before and she was fine.

GRACE: What time did you speak to her the night before?

JONES: About 9:00 PM.

GRACE: At 9:00 PM. It was my understanding that the daddy had texted you multiple times saying Bianca was resting, Bianca was OK, that he was bringing Bianca home. Is that not correct?

JONES: We had been keeping in contact through the week during her visit. I would call and say, Hey, how are things going? He`d text back, Oh, she`s napping or she`s playing or -- you know, I was just keeping up with my daughter and checking in on her like a parent, and he was keeping me updated on her and how she was doing.

GRACE: Have you spoken to him since the alleged carjacking?

JONES: No comment on that.

GRACE: What do you mean no comment? What is that? You have or you have not spoken to him?

JONES: (INAUDIBLE) to discuss that.

GRACE: Why?

JONES: We haven`t had conversations that I would like to discuss or that I feel need to be shared.

GRACE: OK. So that`s telling me you have talked to him. Do you have any idea why he failed a polygraph?

JONES: I haven`t actually been given that information.

GRACE: Well, he did. His lawyer told me that he failed questions on the polygraph regarding does he know where Bianca is and does he know what happened to her. I`m paraphrasing the question, but he failed the questions regarding where Bianca is. His lawyer told me that.

JONES: Well, I wouldn`t have any idea why he would fail a polygraph. I am unaware of the circumstances surrounding my daughter`s disappearance, and I would not know why or how somebody would fail a polygraph.

GRACE: With us is Bianca`s mom, Banika Jones. Ms. Jones, what are cops telling you tonight about the search for 2-year-old Bianca?

JONES: They are telling me that, We are continuing to search, and that they are staying on the case, that they are investigating all new leads and information that comes their way. And I am allowing them to do that while I concentrate my intention and my focus solely on finding my daughter.

GRACE: Are you aware that cadaver dogs have hit on Bianca`s carseat?

JONES: Yes, I have heard that information. But they have not found my daughter, so I am still continuing to focus and believe that my daughter is alive and well and we will find her.

GRACE: The circumstances surrounding the carjack itself -- what do you know? What have you been led to believe happened when the car was taken?

JONES: I was never actually given a full explanation. I was not able to speak with D`Andre that morning, and I`ve not been given that information from police. So I`m not truly aware of everything and all of the circumstances. All I know is that my daughter is missing, and I am desperately searching and seeking and trying to find her.

GRACE: OK. Now, I don`t quite understand that because if my 4-year- old son or daughter had been taken in a carjacking, I would be tearing down the police station to find out the facts surrounding the kidnap so I could help find my child. Have you asked police what happened?

JONES: Yes. I have been told that they are investigating the information that they have been given and that they are searching and working very hard on finding my daughter. And I applaud their efforts. And I am also concentrating my focus on finding my daughter. And as far as the exact details and facts of her disappearance, that is information that I`m sure will be made clear to me once I locate my daughter.

GRACE: And let`s tell the viewers what you are doing to try to find little Bianca. With me is Bianca`s mom. Ms. Jones, what are you doing to help find 2-year-old Bianca?

JONES: Well, me and my family are organizing efforts to go out and actually physically search, as well as printing up thousands of flyers, buttons, T-shirts. We are trying to keep her name in the news. We are trying to keep her up front of focus and we are trying to keep the information out there to let people know that my daughter is missing and she...

GRACE: And we`re certainly going to help you that, Ms. Jones. We absolutely are. Have you gone out to search for your daughter? Have you handed out those T-shirts or flyers yet?

JONES: Yes, I have. Yes, we have been actively engaged in that since day one.

GRACE: With me is Bianca Jones, 2-year-old Bianca`s mother. At this hour, we learn cadaver dogs have positively hit on Bianca`s carseat. And tonight, Daddy`s troubles mount.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Lane says he was home with Bianca and two of his other daughters Friday morning just after 9:30.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You have to take into consideration the fact that his daughter is missing.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He says he was carjacked miles away, closer to the home of Bianca`s mother.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: They can say what they want. That polygraph was not properly administered.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I mean, to see the community get together behind something like this is a tragedy, but I`m grateful that they are coming together and they are helping.

LANE: It`s because of what`s going on. I`m the bad guy right now, so anything they say makes me out to be worst (ph).

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We have and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement for the sole purpose of bringing Bianca back to her father and to her mother.

GRACE: How have you been treated since this incident, Mr. Lane?

LANE: I mean, at first, I looked (ph) at everything. I was just trying to give them as much information as I could. And then all of a sudden, I heard someone say, Oh, he has a criminal record. Next thing you know, I`m thrown into a police car. I`m taken down. I`m interrogated. I`m made (ph) to ask questions. I`m telling these people, I don`t -- I mean, I can`t even think!

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Have you ever seen people that seem like they want to cry, but they just can`t make the tears come out?

Unleash the lawyers, John Manuelian, defense attorney, LA, Randy Kessler, defense attorney, Atlanta. This guy needs some serious acting classes, Randy Kessler because if you`re going to act like you`re crying, you better at least produce one tear to trickle, hopefully, prominently down your face. Didn`t happen, Randy. What`s the problem?

RANDY KESSLER, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Well, I don`t know why he didn`t cry or why he did cry. I mean, that`s something...

GRACE: He was acting like he wanted to cry.

(CROSSTALK)

GRACE: ... that whole thing?

KESSLER: Right. He`s distraught. He`s obviously under a lot of turmoil. The bottom line is there`s doubt all over the place. There are no witnesses. There`s no body. There`s no evidence. There`s no DNA. You know, there`s nothing there yet. You know, he`s got right now a good defense. And he did agree to take a polygraph. Whether he passed it or failed it, the first question is, Is he willing to do it? And he was willing to do it and he was willing to come on your show.

GRACE: No, that`s really not the first question. The question is, Did he pass it? He failed.

KESSLER: Well, but he can`t fail it if he doesn`t agree to take it. He at least agreed to take it.

GRACE: Well, OK, I appreciate that. But that`s like trying to turn back time. It`s like Superman flying in reverse around the earth. It`s too late. He took it and he failed it. And so you telling me he gets a gold star because he took it -- I -- it`s just -- I`m not feeling it, Kessler.

KESSLER: Well, how would you...

GRACE: So Manuelian, you give it a crack.

JOHN MANUELIAN, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Well, look, we don`t know who gave the polygraph test, what their qualifications were. This polygraph test may not be valid. And additionally...

GRACE: Put them up!

MANUELIAN: ... remember the timeline is important...

GRACE: Why are you two talking about a polygraph? That`s 72 hours old. As of right now, cadaver dogs -- wake up, guys! -- cadaver dogs have hit on the baby`s carseat and in Daddy`s apartment, all right? Forget about the polygraph. That`s not going to come into court, anyway. Nobody`s stipulated to it.

I`m worried now that a cadaver dog has hit on Bianca`s carseat. I`m worried that witnesses have come forward after we aired the story about Bianca, saying -- one sees Daddy park the car in an alley, get out and walk away just before he reports Bianca missing due to a carjack. And another witness says he sees Daddy driving around that morning without Bianca in the car.

OK, Manuelian, hit me. What`s your defense?

MANUELIAN: The cadaver dogs finding the human decomposition is absolutely a problem. But as far as the witnesses are concerned, the timeline is what`s key to this case. When did they see him? How far away were they when they saw him? Did they, in fact, see him when he was there? So the inconsistencies of these statements may help him in his defense.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Sources say D`Andre failed a polygraph test.

LANE: I could barely breathe in that room.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We will take another one if, in fact, it`s administered properly.

LANE: It`s not fair to me. It`s not fair to Bianca.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: D`Andre Lane told police he was carjacked.

LANE: I`ve never had anything like this happen to me in my life.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: A critical missing investigation.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Bianca hasn`t been seen since.

LANE: My daughter is not with her family. She needs to be home.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: (INAUDIBLE) police looking at his movements.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We don`t need the sensationalism of kicking down doors with guns drawn on a house that you`ve already had surveillance on, and you know nobody`s in.

LANE: I`m not the villain here. The villain is the person who has my daughter.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What happened to Bianca?

GRACE: Mr. Lane, D`Andre Lane, you`re Bianca`s father. You were with her when the car was carjacked. How many assailants were there, one or two?

LANE: Like I told the investigators, there were two people in the car. One person got out of the car and aimed the firearm at me. I could not describe to them what the person behind the wheel of the car looked like. I gave them all the information I can give them.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: After that, Daddy and his lawyer refused to answer any further questions about the carjacking, and now we seem to know why, witnesses coming forward after we aired that episode on Bianca`s disappearance to tell us that they observed Daddy park the Mercury four-door in the alley and walk away.

We are taking your calls. And with us tonight, Bianca`s mother is pleading for your help. The tip line in this case, 313-596-2260. The reward is climbing, now nearing $30,000.

Veronica in Alabama. Hi, dear. What`s your question?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Hi. I had a question regarding the lie detector test. I`ve only found out that he has failed that. But I just want to say that any man who is not going to do anything to protect that child while he`s getting carjacked, even if it involves getting shot himself -- I mean, it`s just not normal to give up your child in a car like that. He lawyered up immediately. I mean, everything he`s done since day one just screams, Hey, I`m guilty, I did it.

GRACE: Veronica in Alabama, I think we need a shrink. Out to Dr. Leslie Austin, psychotherapist out of New York. You know, Dr. Leslie, I recall -- and I`m -- my question is about human instinct, impulse. I recall with the twins, we were up off the curb near a playground, and a big black four-door, some kind of an SUV, came toward me and the twins. I immediately knocked them down and jumped in front of them. It was an impulse. I didn`t think about it.

What about Veronica`s question?

LESLIE AUSTIN, PSYCHOTHERAPIST: I agree with Veronica and you. The fact that there were no signs of struggle -- it`s an old car. Why would they carjack an old car? Why was he just not fighting back? It doesn`t make sense.

GRACE: At this hour, the search for 2-year-old Bianca intensifies as cadaver dogs hit on not only Bianca`s little carseat that was in Daddy`s car but in Daddy`s apartment. Have we cold busted Daddy in a lie?

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

D`ANDRE LANE, FATHER OF MISSING 2-YEAR-OLD BABY BIANCA, CLAIMS CARJACKER KIDNAPPED DAUGHTER: I`ve never had anything like this happen to me.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: What has police investigators so disturbed believing strongly little Bianca is dead.

GRACE: You`re Bianca`s father. You`re with her when the car is carjacked.

LANE: Nothing like this has happened to my family.

GRACE: How many assailants were there? One or two?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: His daughter was abducted.

LANE: There`s a lot of things being mishandled in this investigation. There were two people in the car.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: People are pointing the finger at him.

LANE: One person got out of the car and aimed the firearm at me.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Police are seen removing items from home to.

LANE: And I could not describe to them what the person behind the wheel of the car looked like.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Investigators are secretive of what`s happening inside the house.

LANE: I don`t care about anything else that`s going on right now but my daughter`s safe return home to her family. When I talked to my daughter all she said, daddy, I love you.

GRACE: You`re not under attack, Mr. Lane. I`m trying to cull facts from you that could help me and the viewers fine your daughter, all right.

LANE: That`s what I`ve been saying to everyone. It`s not about me. It`s about her. And that`s why I`m trying to get the message out. Please bring my daughter home. That is my only concern.

GRACE: Since you`re saying you don`t care about yourself then I`m going to ask you to tell me what happened when Bianca was taken. What happened? Where were you? At a red light or a stop sign?

TERRY L. JOHNSON, ATTORNEY FOR D`ANDRE LANE, FATHER OF MISSING 2-YEAR- OLD BABY GIRL: Nancy, again, the focus is to get Bianca back.

GRACE: All right.

JOHNSON: I`m sure you`re going to cut me off. I know you`re going cut me off and not let me finish.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Yes. Well, we gave him plenty of time to explain what happened to those of you just joining us that turned into an infomercial for daddy and his lawyer. After about two minutes of that, yes, I did cut it off.

Long story short, as we go to air right now tonight we confirm cadaver dogs have hit on baby Bianca`s car seat that had been in daddy`s car. Also at daddy`s apartment but still no sign of Bianca.

Now defense experts and lawyers will tell you a cadaver dog can hit on, for instance, poopy pants if there`s any blood in them. On fingernails if there`s dead human tissue on that fingernail. So we got to take that into account. But also, daddy tells a CNN affiliate, WDIV, that when Bianca is found cops shouldn`t be surprised that she`s got bruises on her legs and that she was sick.

Joining me and taking your calls voluntarily, Bianca`s mother is with us tonight. Joining us is Banika Jones out of Michigan.

Miss Jones, again, thank you for being with us. She`s doing everything she can, searching, flyers, T-shirts, to find her 2-year-old little girl.

Miss Jones, what did Bianca`s dad, D`Andre Lane tell you about bruises being on Bianca, or that she was sick?

BANIKA JONES, MOM OF 2-YEAR-OLD GIRL ALLEGEDLY SNATCHED DURING CARJACKING: He never spoke to me about that. I never spoke to him about anything concerning that.

GRACE: Well, now WDIV has learned that -- Liz, please cue up the sound for Miss Jones. So now that you`re learning that what do you make of it? Why would Bianca have bruises on her body?

JONES: Well, I don`t have those facts. I have nothing to point me towards those facts. And that is something that we will have to investigate further when we find Bianca.

GRACE: OK.

JONES: We just need to find Bianca. All of this will be solved and settled once we locate my daughter.

GRACE: This is what we know at this hour. Roll video, Liz.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: D`Andre Lane said he was carjacked and a stranger took Bianca. Investigators say they are highly skeptical of Lane`s story wondering if there was a carjacking at all. They are also questioning why the father told police if his daughter was found, she may have bruising on her legs and why Lane said the 2-year-old was very sick the morning of the alleged carjacking.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: We are taking your calls, to Nicole in Michigan. Hi, Nicole, what`s your question?

NICOLE, CALLER FROM MICHIGAN: Hi. I`m trying to figure out why would he be out saying that they carjacked an old car like that one caller said, and out here in Michigan I have never heard of a carjacker taking a child and killing the child. This sounds like the (INAUDIBLE) same story that we had 20 years ago, and they are trying to get away with it.

GRACE: You know, Nicole in Michigan, another issue.

Don`t let Nicole go, Liz.

Another issue is if the child is ill then why is daddy driving around town checking on his financial aid where he`s going to school to be an education major? If this child is ill, why isn`t she at home? Why isn`t she at the doctor`s office?

Also to the mom, joining us tonight, Banika Jones, Bianca`s mom. Do you -- have you now learned, even though you didn`t know about it at the time, about any illness? Had she been to the doctor? Any prescriptions prescribed for her?

JONES: No. My daughter was not ill, to my knowledge. She only has one condition and that`s eczema on her knees and she had her ointment for that. So to my knowledge my daughter was not ill at all. No.

GRACE: You are taking a look at 2-year-old Bianca Jones, 2`5", 25 pounds. Beautiful black hair and brown eyes. Light complexion. Purple jacket, gold trim, pink shirt, pink tights, pink shoes.

Straight out to Joe Gomez, KTRH.

You know, Joe, I want to go over very quickly what we know and in response to Nicole in Michigan`s question, the carjacking. Now I`ve prosecuted many, many carjackings. And the reality is they want your car. They don`t want your baby. Because they got to find something to do with the baby, they got to get rid of the baby, they want the car.

This is a 2004 Mercury. Thoughts?

JOE GOMEZ, REPORTER, KTRH RADIO: Yes. Not a very great car to carjack, I have to mention, Nancy. I`ve covered several carjacking cases as well and typically what the robber will do is dump the baby off at a fire station, at a hospital, or something like that. So this is very bizarre, the fact that this -- he says that he was, you know, apparently, you know, stopped by these hoodlums, they put a gun to his head, and then they take his car.

Like hours later the police find the car, the baby is missing, but the baby seat is still in the back. What would these hoodlums want with the baby? What would they want a baby, Nancy? It doesn`t make much sense.

GRACE: I mean the last thing they want is to be saddled with a baby when they are trying to steal a car.

Back out the lines. To Matt in Florida. Hi, Matt, what`s your question?

MATT, CALLER FROM FLORIDA: Can I ask you a quick personal question? Do the twins, your precious twins, still believe in Santa Claus?

GRACE: They absolutely do, and now they expect the Christmas elf to bring them surprises, too, and I have to state that the elf did bring two make it yourself gingerbread house kits this morning. So the elf is only feeding the wild expectations of the twins.

Back to Bianca. What`s your question?

MATT: It`s incredible that the father who took the polygraph test wouldn`t be anxious as the Dickens to go back and take it again so he can prove that he was telling the truth and that somehow the test was faulty. I would have the police send a limousine for him and get him back there as quickly as they can.

GRACE: Everybody, our family album is back. Showcasing your photos and iReport. And here`s photos of the twins. Here`s John David and Lucy getting their very first library cards from Miss April at Fairfax Library, L.A. There they are getting their first books.

Georgia friends -- here we go. Our Georgia friends, Mr. And Mrs. Johns. Their family photo shows them still holding hands after six decades of marriage. Just celebrating their 63rd anniversary.

Congratulations.

Massachusetts friends, the LaRiviere family. There they are. Luis, Chip, Malcolm, Ellie, Megan, Taylor and Cody. What a beautiful family.

Everybody, share your photos with us. Through our iReport Family Album. You just go to hlnTV.com/Nancygrace and you click on "The Family Album."

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: D`Andre tells police detectives he was carjacked, the thieves took off not only with his car but also with his daughter Bianca who was inside the vehicle at the time. But cops are not buying the story.

LANE: My daughter does not need to be subject to someone coming in and trying to make her father out to be a villain.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Lane says he was home with Bianca and two of his other daughters Friday morning. Just after 9:30 he says he was carjacked miles away, closer to the home of Bianca`s mother.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Police aren`t just looking at his movements today. They are going back 48 hours checking to see if there`s any record of him being where he says he was.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: And I asked Bianca`s father, D`Andre Lane if he is telling the truth and here is his response.

LANE: I`m telling the truth. That`s all I want is my baby home safe.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: In a critical missing investigation, each hour that ticks by ratchets up the stress level.

LANE: She needs to come home safely. Her daddy and her mother and her sisters, her brothers, everybody misses her. She needs to be home safely. That`s it. Nothing else even matters.

GRACE: Mr. Lane, can you give me a description of the assailants, number one. That would be useful in trying to track Bianca down.

JOHNSON: You know, Nancy, again, we`ve given a description of the assailants and the police have put that out.

GRACE: I have a black and white composite, Mr. Johnson. If he could describe -- he said there`s two unknown armed assailants. I have a composite of one of them. It`s a black and white charcoal sketch. I don`t know what color their outfits were. I don`t know how tall they are. I don`t know what the other one even looks like.

All right. I`m going to try again, Mr. Lane. What did the assailants look like?

JOHNSON: Nancy, just, you know, we don`t want to start this off on a hostile terms.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

GRACE: Welcome back. We are live and taking your calls. Where is baby Bianca? At this hour as we go to air stunning bombshell. We learn cadaver dogs have hit on the baby`s car seat, which had been in daddy`s car. And in daddy`s apartment. Is that conclusive? No, it`s not. It is an indicator? Yes, it is.

With me right now Mike Craig, K-9 instructor, handler and president of Public Safety Dogs, Inc, joining me out of North Carolina.

Mike, is it true cadaver dogs can hit on blood, for instance? They can hit on a band-aid. They can hit on blood in a poopy pants which is rare. They can hit on blood on a fingernail or human tissue on a fingernail. Is it true that in some circumstances that can happen, Mike?

MIKE CRAIG, K-9 INSTRUCTOR AND HANDLER, PRESIDENT, PUBLIC SAFETY DOGS, INC.: Yes, it is, Nancy.

GRACE: Now is that rare, Mike?

CRAIG: Yes, it is. It doesn`t happen that often.

GRACE: Explain.

CRAIG: Well, the amount of blood it takes -- you know, in training you usually weed out your dogs picking up little tinny miniscule amounts unless you`re training a forensic dog to specifically look for blood droplets.

GRACE: With me is Mike Craig, K-9 instructor joining me out of Burlington, North Carolina. Also with us Dr. Barry Freiberg, physician and author of "Getting Over Going Under."

Dr. Freiberg, thank you so much for being with us. Doctor Freiberg, is there really any normal explanation for human decomposition that is reportedly turning up at these two locations, the baby`s car seat and daddy`s apartment?

DR. BARRY FREIBERG, PHYSICIAN, AUTHOR, "GETTING OVER GOING UNDER": Is there a normal explanation? No, I don`t think there`s a normal explanation except the very high probability of a dead baby.

GRACE: Dr. Freiberg, joining us out of L.A. Of course there could be blood on a discarded band-aid, it could be on the car seat itself. A cadaver dog could conceivably hit on that.

Also with us, Dr. Barry Freiberg, joining us out of L.A., another question I have is the child. Daddy says the child is sick that morning. So cops need to know that. Driving a child around in a car seat in the back of the car while you`re going to check on your financial aid, it`s cold there in Michigan at this time of year, that doesn`t help anything.

What parent in their right mind would do that?

FREIBERG: Excellent question. Not a parent who is genuinely concerned. In fact there`s not much about his story that hangs together.

GRACE: You know, Doctor, you have seen so many child patients. When you have seen children covered in bruises, do parents normally volunteer that they beat the child or do they typically come up with stories to explain the bruises away?

FREIBERG: Typically there`s some excuse like the child fell down and hurt themselves. But invariably once you examine the situation, there`s inconsistency with the site and pattern of the injury compared to the story that`s told.

GRACE: Dr. Freiberg, what do you mean by that inconsistency with the a parent`s side of the injury as opposed to the story that`s been told?

FREIBERG: Well, when you grab a child by the wrist and lift him up abruptly you can dislocate the shoulder, causing a bruise. But it`s very hard to cause the same type of bruise as when you fall down and hit yourself on the shoulder.

GRACE: Everyone, with us tonight and taking your calls, Bianca`s mom.

I want to go back to Alexis Weed, our producer on the story. Give me a recap. What do we know at this hour, Alexis?

ALEXIS WEED, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER: Well, Nancy, we also know that there`s been some surveillance video that was turned over to police that`s from the Wayne Community College where the father supposedly stopped briefly at the school. The spokeswoman said she believes that that video shows the father`s car in the parking lot of the school but that that it does not show him, it doesn`t show him get out of the car.

GRACE: How odd. How odd. And it was that morning when the child goes missing, correct?

WEED: That`s right.

GRACE: All right. With me is Banika Jones, this is Bianca`s mom. She`s taking your calls in the search for Bianca.

Miss Jones, what is your understanding about where Bianca`s dad was going that morning?

JONES: I was told that he was on his way to my home to pick up some more clothes for Bianca.

GRACE: Now I understand that there is actually a witness that states they have observed him with his nephew in the car which corroborates part of his story. Do you know anything about that?

JONES: No, no, I don`t have any information about that.

GRACE: Out to the lines, Jason in Canada. Hi, Jason, what`s your question, dear?

JASON, CALLER FROM CANADA: Hi, Nancy. I just want to say one thing. We should have someone like you here in Canada.

GRACE: Thank you.

JASON: And I have two quick questions. I wanted to know where is the father right now and is he making efforts searching for her?

GRACE: OK. Good question. Joe Gomez, got the answer?

GOMEZ: Well, Nancy, apparently he`s staying out of the public eye. He said he`s getting a lot of death threats. So he`s keeping his head under wraps, Nancy. A lot of people just think that he`s guilty, I guess, but threatening to murder this man so he`s --

GRACE: Well, according to him, Joe Gomez, according to him that`s why he`s not out searching for his daughter but her mommy is. And she is with us live tonight taking your calls.

The search for 2-year-old Bianca heats up. The reward mounting. Tip line 313-596-2260.

Where is baby Bianca?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: The father is being questioned extensively.

LANE: I could go out there and look myself if people would focus on the real issue here.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: With guns drawn, the FBI, Michigan State Police, and Detroit PD entered the Detroit home of D`Andre Lane Monday evening.

LANE: I never threatened any of my children, never. And like I said, I would -- I would charge anyone to bring proof of that allegation.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Sources say D`Andre failed a polygraph test and that a family member came forward saying D`Andre made up the whole story.

GRACE: We are live and taking your calls. Those are the answers to Jason in Canada`s question.

Unleash the lawyers, John Manuelian, Randy Kessler.

Why isn`t daddy out searching for Bianca, and what do you make of witnesses that came forward stating after we aired Bianca`s story, Randy Kessler, that they observed daddy park the Mercury and leave it and walk off?

RANDY KESSLER, DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Well, that`s a real problem. And we`re going to have to or the defense lawyers are going to have to attack the credibility of the witnesses and see what`s in their past. You know what`s interesting is that he didn`t answer the questions what happened --

GRACE: Kessler.

KESSLER: -- during the carjacking.

GRACE: Kessler. What do you care what`s in the witness`s past? Does that mean they can`t see? They`re legally blind now?

KESSLER: Do they have motivation? Do they have something (INAUDIBLE) that they`re bias about?

GRACE: Motivation?

KESSLER: Can we just say, OK, whoever -- this blank person, we don`t know who they are, they said they saw him, so put this guy to death or send him to jail forever because somebody who --

GRACE: They don`t have the death penalty in Michigan.

KESSLER: We`ve got to figure out who they are and make sure -- we`ve got to look at their credibility. If they are credibility.

GRACE: All right. All right. Look in their past.

KESSLER: That`s a problem.

GRACE: OK. Manuelian, weigh in quickly.

JOHN MANUELIAN, CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Well, look, he`s not searching for the child because he`s getting death threats. And what`s more problematic is why is his lawyer parading him around on television and having you cross-examine him. That`s not doing him any service.

GRACE: There goes Manuelian, off the road again. Tried to steer you back into the middle, along to the yellow line, didn`t work.
