Police Search for Man Suspected of Kidnapping Mom, Children

JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, HOST: Jane Velez-Mitchell coming to you live from New York City with breaking news.

A nationwide manhunt on as we speak for a kidnapping suspect. And we have video just in of investigators digging right now as we speak in the backyard of a Mississippi home that belongs to the parents of the kidnapping suspect.

Now, two bodies were found at this home over the weekend, and we`ll bring you that video in a moment. Now, a man who may have murdered two people -- he`s not charged with that right now, but he`s suspected -- he`s taken off, allegedly, with his entire family. Police say Adam Mayes is on the run. And Jo Ann Bain and her daughters are in extreme danger. His mysterious connection to this family could be the key to figuring out how this nightmare started.

VELEZ-MITCHELL (voice-over): Tonight, a desperate race against time to find a missing Tennessee mom and her three daughters. Cops are hunting for this armed and dangerous so-called family friend. Now, the trail of clues has led to two unidentified bodies. Has this kidnapping case turned into a murder mystery? And could a dark family secret be at the root of this story?

Also cops say they still believe missing Isabel Celis is alive. So will new video released of the adorable 6-year-old break the case wide open?

And Isabel`s parents now fighting back and answering tough questions. I`ll have the details.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: A mother and her three daughters disappeared over a week ago. Adam Mayes, the man wanted for kidnapping them.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: There`s a manhunt now for a family friend suspected of kidnapping a mom and her three daughters.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We`re (UNINTELLIGIBLE) from Mississippi, Arizona and Tennessee.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He`s a wanted person. He is armed and dangerous.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Described as a family friend.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Make me a little nervous, you know? So I don`t know what to think.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Investigators became suspicious of Mayes when they lost contact with him on Tuesday.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He has a warrant out for lying to investigators about where the family is.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He gave them some misleading information on Sunday. Mayes hasn`t been seen since.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Two bodies were reportedly found in shallow graves behind his parents` home.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: During the search, we did find two bodies at that location.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The bodies have not yet been identified.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He had altered the appearances of everybody, including himself.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It got my stomach all nervous and queasy.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: This is somebody`s daughter.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: And we`ve got breaking news just in in the kidnapping of a Tennessee mom and her three daughters. I`m getting this in as we speak, and the video is just coming in.

Federal agents digging in the backyard of an Alpine, Mississippi, home where two bodies were found over the weekend. And this home is associated with the man suspected of kidnapping a Tennessee woman and her three daughters.

An Amber Alert was actually issued for the three girls and the mom. And the manhunt is under way, and this man is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Police from coast to coast are hunting for the suspect, Adam Mayes. He`s a close family friend of suspected kidnapping victim Jo Ann Bain and her three kids, ages 8, 12 and 14. This man you`re looking at here is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Officers are stopping cars and looking inside their trunks.

The Bains last seen April 27. Police actually questioned Adam Mayes and then let him go. And only later did they realize he had lied to them. Then he -- they tried to track him down, and he was gone. And that`s when the case took a much darker turn at the Mississippi home of the suspect, Adam Mayes`s parents. Listen to this.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE (via phone): We executed federal search warrants at the location that he was known to have stayed at. And at that time during the search, we did find two bodies at that location. It was based on finding those two bodies that PDI initiated the Amber Alert expressing extreme concern and danger to the children and the mother.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: This is such a terrible story. Certainly terrifying for the family of this missing mom and her three daughters.

Again, this video just in. Police are digging in the backyard of that home. Now, two bodies were already found over the weekend in shallow graves. They have not been identified. We have not been given any details about how these individuals died or who they are. And authorities continue to dig, which it`s scary to say, but it suggests that they are looking for more victims.

And now new theories about the suspect`s connection to this family shedding light on a possible motive.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He thought one was, but that`s all they ever said, that he thought that one was. But as far as actually knowing for sure he did.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He has pictures of them in his home. It made us all think that that was his kids.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He was a kind guy. He was -- if somebody had told me this, I would never have believed it.

Straight out to my exclusive guest, Beverly Goodman, the aunt of the missing woman and the great aunt of Jo Ann`s three missing daughters. Beverly, first of all, my heart goes out to you. This is a nightmare for you, I know, your entire family. Your precious niece and grand-nieces are missing. Thank you for joining us.

Why do you think this family, so-called family friend, Adam Mayes, would have taken off with Jo Ann and the girls, as cops believe he has?

BEVERLY GOODMAN, AUNT OF JO ANN BAIN (via phone): The only thing that we can fixture out is that he was obsessed with either Jo Ann or one of the girls, and he wanted to keep them there with him and not let them go back to Arizona.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, yes, my understanding is that they were all getting ready, your relatives, to move to Arizona because two of the girls had asthma and that he, this family friend, so-called, Adam Mayes, was helping the family and was even going to help get them out there, and then things went terribly wrong.

So do you think, Beverly, that he didn`t want the family to move to Arizona? In other words, he wanted dibs on them, wanted to keep them close to him?

GOODMAN: That`s what we think. That`s the only thing -- only logical thing we can even think of. Because, you know, the guy was -- he was always a good friend to the family. He was always there helping out. The girls liked him. You couldn`t find many people around here that would say anything bad about him. So...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Did he think -- we heard this lady say that -- that he had told them, "Oh, one of the girls is mine. One of the girls is mine?" Did he have some kind of fantasy that one of these beautiful young great-nieces of yours, that he was the father? Because he had apparently expressed that to people.

GOODMAN: Yes. I think he said -- I think he told some people that all three of the girls was his. I think, you know, he was just hopefully thinking that one day they would be his family, you know, that Jo Ann would probably go and live with him and bring the girls and they would all be a family together. If the youngest one is his, I have no knowledge of that.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Right. Initially, I understand, and I know it`s an awkward question to ask, but we`re asking because we want to be helpful here. And he`ll find, you know, the clock`s ticking. We want to find these girls and their mom.

GOODMAN: Yes.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Do you think he`s -- there`s some kind of back story about relationships, that he was married to -- it`s very confusing. They say that he and the missing woman`s husband, current husband were married to the same sisters, or there`s some kind of family connection. Can you explain that, Beverly?

GOODMAN: Yes, Jo Ann`s husband, Gary, was married to Adam`s sister once upon a time, and that`s how Gary and Adam got to be such close friends. And they`re both mechanics. They both had a garage, working on vehicles and stuff together.

And even after Gary and his wife divorced, Adam still hung around with Gary all the time and them working on vehicles and cars and stuff like that.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Now Beverly, let me ask you this question. And I know this is a difficult question, so please understand where I`m coming from, just in the spirit of trying to find them.

The police are trying to determine whether initially anyway, Beverly - - I`m sorry, Jo Ann and the three girls might have left voluntarily. Do you think there`s any chance that they might have left with him voluntarily initially?

GOODMAN: No. Because Jo Ann was a good mother, a real good mother. And when she left there early that morning, she didn`t take any of the girls` medicines. She didn`t take any -- no clothes, no backpacks. No anything with her. All they could see that was missing was her purse. She didn`t take their cell phones.

And Adrienne`s asthma was really bad. She was having to do an inhaler like two or three times a day. And Jo Ann would not have left that house without their medicine, I know this for a fact.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: OK, Beverly, one other question then. Apparently, they were all in the house.

GOODMAN: Yes.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So you`ve got Jo Ann, the three girls, 8, 12 and 14, plus her husband, Gary, plus this guy Adam, plus Gary`s adult daughter and her child. Can you explain how they -- that he managed to allegedly get them all out of the house without awaking all the other people who were in the house?

GOODMAN: The only thing I can -- I can come up with is that Adam had a gun. He always had a gun on him. And I think he went in and got one of the children, one of the girls, and held the gun to the girls head and woke Jo Ann up and told her to come on, or either he would kill them. And not make a sound, not wake anybody up. And they would just all leave together.

But she had to leave in her vehicle. She left in her vehicle, met him down the road, but it was the same thing. I think he had a gun to one of the girls` heads, and he was saying, "You come on. You`re going to follow me. We`re going to go right down here somewhere. And if you don`t, if you didn`t cooperate with me, I`m going to kill you and all these girls."

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, Beverly, last question: did you ever meet this Adam Mayes? Do you think he was capable? Did you ever think he was strange or off or dangerous?

GOODMAN: I have seen him. I have never really talked to him in person, because, you know, I never was around him a whole lot.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: OK.

GOODMAN: I`ve heard Jo Ann talk about him, you know, always being there for them when they needed him to help do things and but just always there to help out. But I`ve never met the man. Personally.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes. Well, Beverly, I want to thank you for coming on. Our hearts go out to you. We know that you`re just in a terribly frantic situation. We -- we want to help find your niece and great nieces, and we`re going to do everything we can.

And so more on the other side. We have a team of experts to analyze this situation next.

MARTIN SAVIDGE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Almost all of his neighbors and his landlord say that he was a very nice guy, and they never saw any of this coming. And they also say that he was very close to the girls and yet told one of the neighbors that he believed one of the girls was his. Now, does that mean biologically, or does it mean in some other way? We simply don`t know.

But it is clear he felt very close to this family, and they reciprocated. At some point, apparently, they were in Arizona all together. So it shows that they had a closes relationship. What it doesn`t tell us is what changed.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirming that suspect Adam Mayes and Gary Bain, who was the missing woman`s husband, were once married to sisters. And then it kind of evolved into this relationship where this suspect was sort of the uncle of the three daughters, 8, 12 and 14, that Gary had with Jo Ann.

And now he`s suspected of kidnapping Jo Ann and those three girls.

Stacy Kaiser, psychotherapist, he apparently ran around claiming that he was the father of one of these girls. To me this says a guy who doesn`t know boundaries, doesn`t know where he ends and this family begins, totally enmeshed in this family.

STACY KAISER, PSYCHOTHERAPIST: That`s definitely the case in the best-case scenario. Is that he doesn`t have good boundaries.

And I really think you`re onto something when you were talking earlier about he may have developed some sort of a fantasy life. In order for him to have done what he has now done, what it`s looking to me is that he`s got some sociopathic behavior.

And what we know about sociopaths is this: they will lure people in. They can be lovely, engaging, charismatic, entertaining, kind people as long as they`re getting what they want. Once that stops, all of a sudden, things can take a turn, and they`ll do things that most of us wouldn`t even imagine doing.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes. And he was apparently possibly upset that the family wanted to move away from him, and move all the way to Arizona, the other side of the country.

I always say be ware of people who want to be too helpful for your young children. Especially guys wanting to be too helpful to female children.

And again, we`re getting new footage. It just came in seconds ago. Investigators digging up the backyard of the home of the suspects, Adam Mayes`, parents. Already, they have found two unidentified bodies.

Jo Ann Bain and her three daughters were last seen ten days ago when they vanished from their home in Tennessee. And just across the state line in Mississippi, about 60 miles away, is where these bodies were found. It`s where they`re digging right now.

So Steve Moore, former FBI agent, what do you make of it?

STEVE MOORE, FORMER FBI AGENT: Well, I would want to know where his two parents are right now. It seems to me that what they did is use that house as a way point to -- to change appearances, maybe get money, maybe get some weapons. And things may not have gone well with his parents when they found out what was going on. This is just hypothesis right now.

But the fact that they`re saying that they may have changed their hair color and things like that, would indicate that they found hair clippings, that they found dye, they found all sorts of materials as far as an escape plan. And I think that`s what you`re looking at right now.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes. Well, actually, I think we`ve got some photographs of what they may look like, because they looked like this in the initial photos, and now this guy has allegedly taken off with this family, the mom and her three daughters, and cut their hair and dyed their hair, possibly.

And this nationwide manhunt going on right now. We`re going to try to show you those photos on the other side of the break of what this family may look like now. And my question for the experts: how do cops know that he cut the hair and dyed the hair?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Right now breaking news: digging in the backyard of the house belonging to the parents of a suspected kidnapper. We`re going to show you that video.

And also complicating this massive manhunt, detectives think the suspect, Adam Mayes. There they are, digging. They`ve already found two bodies in that yard, and they`re digging for more. They think that he may have altered the look of not only himself, but the mom he kidnapped, allegedly, and her three daughters, who he allegedly kidnapped.

Take a look at these before and after photos.

Now I`m curious, Mike Knox, forensic consultant, how would police possibly know that this suspect had cut the hair of these girls and altered their hair color?

MIKE KNOX, FORENSIC CONSULTANT: Well, you know, my wife does hair for a living and when she gets done doing somebody`s hair, there`s usually substantial evidence. There would be trimmed hairs, of course, the implement, scissor, hair clippers, as well as color that may have been disposed in the sink, maybe in the trash can, things like that that they would look for, some type of physical evidence to indicate that this has been done.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Another challenge. Investigators are crisscrossing the entire country, and here`s why. They`re searching Tennessee. That`s where the Bains live. Mississippi where the two bodies were found. Arizona where the Bain family was planning to move. Police say the suspect, Adam Mayes, also has ties to North and South Carolina, Texas, Florida. Oh, my gosh.

Joe Gomez, senior investigative reporter, KTRH News Radio, how are they going to search this entire country?

JOE GOMEZ, SENIOR INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER, KTRH NEWS RADIO: Yes. It`s pretty bizarre, Jane, isn`t it? I mean, the facts surrounding this case are incredibly distressing. We have two bodies that were found at this -- at a home this guy has been linked to. Investigators still digging through the backyard.

My curiosity is, Jane, what if they found the mother and one of the little girls at this home? What if investigators -- that`s how they found out that he was trying to alter their appearance? Of course, that`s the worst possible scenario that could be out there.

But right now a whole family is missing, Jane, and this guy is armed and dangerous.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, Levi Page, the FBI and police are not saying who they found. They`re not even giving us the gender of the bodies.

LEVI PAGE, CRIME BLOGGER: No, they`re being extremely tight-lipped about the details surrounding the two bodies that were found in -- in Mississippi.

And this is the home of his parents. We haven`t heard anything from his parents either. It would be interesting to see if anybody has been trying to contact them.

We -- what`s also interesting is this area, Guntown, Mississippi. I know that Adam Mayes had lived there at some point. And I was going through the Facebook pages of the children.

And apparently this guy, Adam Mayes, went by an alias on Facebook, Carl Rodriguez. And he was obsessed with these children like was stated earlier. And most of the photos were him with these children.

And going through the Facebook pages, there`s a woman by the name of Teresa Hayes who`s also friends with the children. And she had -- I`ve done some research on her. She had lived in Guntown, Mississippi, and she had also at one point lived with...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: More on the other side.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: And we have got breaking news -- you can see the video that is just in as we speak -- authorities are digging in the backyard of the Alpine, Mississippi home where two bodies were found over the weekend. This is the home that is associated with the man suspected of kidnapping a Tennessee woman and her three daughters ages 8, 12 and 14.

And we`re hearing that this man, the suspect was running around claiming that, even though he was a family friend of this mom and the three kids and the mom`s husband, that oh, he had fathered one of the children. And we don`t know whether there`s any truth to that or whether this was a fantasy in his mind. He is considered armed and extremely dangerous. And we are being told that he has altered his own appearance and cut and dyed the hair at the very least of the mother and three children.

Let`s hope that that`s the case and that they are still alive and that they can be found, because authorities have already found two bodies in that backyard. Some have wondered, well, where are his parents? If this was the home of his parents, could they have gotten upset by his alleged crazy plans, could there have been some kind of confrontation.

But why are they digging for more bodies? That is the question tonight.

Levi Page, crime blogger, you`ve got new information; what is your new information tonight?

LEVI PAGE, CRIME BLOGGER: Well, as I was saying earlier, when going through their Facebook pages, there was a Teresa Hayes. She shares the same last name as Adam Hayes, the suspect in this case. And she is friends with some of the girls on Facebook, Joanne`s children. And I did research on Joanne Hayes and she also has links to Guntown, Mississippi where the bodies, those two unidentified bodies were found at the parents of Adam`s home. She had also shared a residence at one time with Adam Hayes. She`s also linked to Arizona, like Adam Hayes is. She had a PO box in Pima County, Arizona. So she could be a link here and someone that could provide investigators some information on Adam Hayes.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right. Yes, maybe she has some information. We certainly do not want to imply that she is in any way, shape or form involved in this because we have no information to that effect from law enforcement. The only person at this point that they are hunting for in terms of a suspect is this Adam Mayes, 35 years old, considered armed and extremely dangerous. And they have already dug up two bodies in the backyard of his parents` home and they are continuing to dig.

Let`s go out to the phone lines. We`ve got Pauline, is it? Your question or thought, Pauline, and where are you calling from?

PAULINE, CANADA: Hi, Jane, I`m calling from Ontario, Canada. First - - thank you for giving a voice to all those animals out there that need it. I just wonder though how it is possible that he could have gotten this mother/wife and her three daughters out without the father or husband hearing a single thing? That seems very, very odd.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: You make a very good point. Mike Knox, forensic consultant, they were all planning to move, but the husband Garry Bain was there, as well as his daughter, as well as that woman`s daughter. How could all those people have been there and Adam Mayes been able to kidnap Joanne, allegedly, and her three dangers ages 8, 12 and 14 without waking them up?

MIKE KNOX, FORENSIC CONSULTANT: I think it was suggested earlier in the broadcast that if he were to take one of them hostage in some form and then as he approached the remaining women, you know, threatened that he would do harm to one of them, you might be able to get cooperation that way. So I can see that it would be conceivable, he probably had easy access to the home, obviously was probably a frequent visitor so I think it`s conceivable that he could have managed to do that.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, thank you so much. We`re going to stay on top of this story and bring you the very latest as it comes in.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And if they need to scrutinize us, if that`s what they need to waste their time on, we can`t help that.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Tonight renewed hope that missing 6-year-old Isabel Celis is still alive. Tucson police released new home video of the little girl and her devastated parents are lashing out at anyone who questions whether they could somehow be involved in their little girl`s disappearance. Listen to this.

REBECCA CELIS, MOTHER OF ISABEL CELIS: No, we don`t know. I`m sorry that we`re not as -- I don`t know what they`re expecting from us. If you know how we`re supposed to be acting, please let us know, because right now our heart is breaking all the time.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: This real-life nightmare began almost two weeks ago. Isabel`s dad discovered his 6-year-old daughter missing. He told police her bedroom window was open, the screen pushed aside. Police still don`t know if that`s the point of entry. Add to that the troubling fact that police dogs hit on something in or around the home.

Isabel`s parents say nobody can script how parents should react to a horror like this. Isabel`s father chose to sing "Ave Maria" at church for their missing child.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Straight out to Gil Abeyta. Gil, your son was abducted tragically 25 years old and tragically your child he was never found and my heart goes out to you. Do these parents of missing Isabel have a point that it`s not fair to judge their behavior, their reaction since few have walked in their shoes?

GIL ABEYTA, SON ABDUCTED 25 YEARS AGO: Yes. Can you hear me?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes, I can hear you. What do you make of them being angry? Go ahead.

ABEYTA: You know, everyone is a little bit different. I couldn`t tell you that everyone has a pattern as to how they behave when something like this happens because it is so traumatic. You`re never prepared for it and there`s no script for it. You have to just do what you feel and adjust to whatever hits you.

There`s no program to tell you that they have to act this way. I know there are people that sit out there and they see them in their plea and they see them do certain things. And it`s just very hard to judge how they affect everybody, about what they`re doing, things like this. So it just takes time to adjust a little bit.

And when you appear in front of all the people, you know that you`re being a suspect. You know that they think you probably did it. As a victim I can tell you that. And there`s a lot of prejudgment that happens when you do that.

A lot of it is wrong. You have to give the benefit to the parents. It`s their child, and they may be doing things wrong, they may not be doing things right. But sooner or later, they`ll get an alignment, sort of.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes. Well, let me say this. You could tell Isabel`s mom was pretty furious when reporters pushed her about how she and her husband were perceived by some people since Isabel vanished. Listen to her response.

You remember this case, 10-month old Baby Lisa Irwin, vanished in October of last year from her parents` Kansas City and the child has not been seen since.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Steve Moore, former FBI agent, a lot of people didn`t respond favorably to that mother talking. It didn`t help her case.

STEVE MOORE, FORMER FBI AGENT: Right. I think it is a hard to judge somebody by how they come across in the media when they`re in a very, very terrible situation. If you have somebody who really did something they could be incredibly good liars. If you have somebody who were not involved, they could just have an affect that doesn`t help their -- doesn`t help people believe them.

I don`t take what they`re doing, what they`re saying in public as an indication of their culpability or their non-culpability. .

VELEZ-MITCHELL: The trial of the century is now a movie of the week. Lifetime will bring us the first TV movie about the Casey Anthony trial. Just think, all the drama, all the suspension, all the outrage, all in under two hours.

They have already started casting. Rob Lowe has been announced to play prosecutor, Jeff Ashton. Wow, Ashton was the first one cast because the movie is based on his best selling tell-all book.

Now prosecutor Ashton heard about the casting and said, quote, "When I told my wife, she asked, does that mean I`m married to Rob Lowe now? In your dreams, honey, in your dreams.

What about the other roles? Who should play Casey Anthony? Think about that question as you remember this?

Straight out to my very special guest, Lisa Sharkey HarperCollins, director of creative development and full disclosure, one of my best friends for years; Lisa you made the deal for Jeff Ashton`s tell-all book on this case "Imperfect Justice". A lot of our viewers are upset because they think Casey Anthony might make some money off this movie. Can you explain why that is not the case?

LISA SHARKEY, HARPERCOLLINS PUBLISHER: Ok. Let me explain first and foremost, when I went ahead and I acquired the book, I also acquired the TV rights. In no way, shape and form is Casey Anthony going to make even one red cent. All of these profits are for Jeff Ashton. He is the author, nobody else in any way, shape or form involved in this case, but Jeff Ashton and his lovely wife Rita and their family will get the money from this. So have no fear, no way on Casey.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: In a way it`s kind of a victory for the prosecution which lost the case, but this is sort of a victory after the fact because he told his inside story.

We asked our Twitter and Facebook followers and wow did you guys come up with some fabulous suggestions on who should play Casey. Alyssa Milano probably got the most votes, but Kristen Stewart from "Twilight" not far behind. And what about Lacy Shabare -- remember her from "Party of Five" and "Mean Girls". She`s a dead ringer for Casey. And she does have the intensity for the role.

Now, remember, this role has to be played by someone that`s beautiful, a little unhinged, may I say, a little controversial, the person that I think would be perfect is Lindsay Lohan for this role. I think she would play a great Casey Anthony, and if she`s not available, dare I say it, Kim Kardashian.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Portraying all that on screen is not going to be an easy role. And obviously there`s going to be a little dirty dancing involved because you remember this scene, of course.

Let`s go to the phones. Reina, New York, your question or thought or casting suggestion, Reina?

REINA, NEW YORK (via telephone): I don`t think they should be making a movie about this woman. But I think that Angelina Jolie would probably be the best actress to, like, play in this movie.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, she`s not that -- you`re right. She`s got that certain quality of, like, I`m queen of the world kind of attitude that some would say that Casey brought with her into court.

Let`s go to Irene, Connecticut. Irene, Connecticut, your question or thought?

IRENE, CONNECTICUT (via telephone): Jane, listen, you know, first of all, this is a travesty, first of all, that this show would ever be put on because it is a victim still being victimized and she is a dead victim.

Second of all, you know, this is -- any actress that would play this role will be like Linda Blair was in the "Exorcist" stigmatized for nobody watching them anymore.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: That`s a very good point. That`s a very good point. Irene, I want to give Lisa Sharkey the chance to respond to that. Lisa, they`re saying that any actress would be stigmatized playing this character.

SHARKEY: Well, I don`t agree with that because I think that an actress that already has a little bit of experience that is going to do this role, it`s going to be on lifetime. It`s not the "Exorcist". It`s not something that`s going to be a blockbuster movie all over America in that same way.

It`s a movie that`s going to shoot in Canada at about the end of the month. It`s going to shoot for a month. They`re going to edit it for a couple of months. It will air this fall. I have a suggestion for my daughter whose name happens to also be Casey who is 12. She likes Lucy Hail from "Pretty Little Liars". She thinks that she should play the role of Casey Anthony.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: And, let me ask this question, who should play Casey`s father, George Anthony. Remember he had some of the most emotional moments in the entire trial.

SHARKEY: Well, you know, I think that that`s a very good question. It`s funny, Jeff Ashton at one point thought John Laroquette possibly would be playing him. But now --

VELEZ-MITCHELL: We`re showing James Brolin or John O`Hurley. These two guys, either, would do a fabulous job as George.

SHARKEY: Well, I did speak to Jeff today and O`Hurley definitely is somebody that he thinks could certainly play the role.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Ok. Rob Shuter? What do you think?

SHUTER: They certainly look the part but let`s remember here who Rob Lowe is playing. So is clearly looks are not the first criteria that the producers are looking for to play these characters. Rob is one of the most handsome men in America and, with all respect to the gentleman involved in the case, he is a very good looking guy but he is not Rob Lowe.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well -- I hate to say it but I agree there.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: For Cindy, suggestions we got -- Meredith Baxter and Edie Falco. But Lisa, the way this casting is going I`m thinking more like Charlize Theron.

SHARKEY: Yes, well, you know. Charlize is very, very much in demand. I don`t know. I mean Rob Lowe is a very high bar. We`ll see who they can get. Remember, it is a Lifetime movie and there`s a limited budget. I`m not sure they could get Charlize after they`ve already paid for Rob. Let`s see. Fox TV Studios will do a great movie.

And you know, Jeff is a consultant on this film which is very interesting, and hopefully he`ll have a chance to go up to Winnipeg and help them with the shooting.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Rob, last word.
