A.J. HAMMER, HLN ANCHOR: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Tonight Showbiz true confessions from Tom Cruise. Nothing is off limits. Tom talking about Scientology, plastic surgery, the crazy rumors about him and his wife Katie. This is truly wild stuff, but why is he speaking out now?

Also tonight on "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT", a Showbiz exclusive. Remarkable revelations from the attorney of one of the men accusing John Travolta of sexual assault. Why he`s telling Travolta he`s sorry.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think that normal civility, he deserved an apology.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: What`s he saying about bailing on one of the accusers who dropped his case against Travolta? it`s a headline making Showbiz newsmaker exclusive.

Kardashian true confessions. Would mama Kris really force Khloe to take a DNA test to prove she`s a Kardashian?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You got to see what we went through to try to get her to do it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" starts right now.

Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer with a headline-making Showbiz exclusive. Only here on "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT", we`re putting the tough question to the attorney for the man who is suing John Travolta after claiming that Travolta tried to sexually assault him while getting a massage. The attorney used to represent two men making the same claim. That was until the first guy suddenly dropped his lawsuit after messing up the dates that he said Travolta tried to have sex with him. Now, wait till you hear why the attorney is revealing to us that he`s apologizing to Travolta. The attorney`s name is Okorie Okorocha. He just spoke with Kareen Wynter. Just so you`re clear, John Doe No. 1 is the guy that dropped his lawsuit. John Doe No. 2 is the guy still suing Travolta.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KAREEN WYNTER, HLN CORRESPONDENT: What went through your mind when you found out that John Doe No. 1`s dates were wrong?

OKORIE OKOROCHA, ATTORNEY: Most clients come into your office, you have to take their word for it. This guy had a lie detector. What else could we possibly do? We can`t waterboard our clients until we find out for sure. There`s nothing else I could do.

WYNTER: John Doe No. 2, this has really taken the steam out of his case, some would say.

OKOROCHA: I would disagree. The things that went on with No. 2 as far as concrete were the booking of appointments, the complaints, how upset he was, his medical visits to the doctor, his witnesses that saw how it affected him. I mean, John Doe No. 2 would have to absolutely be just off his rocker and out of his tree to just run out of a massage room, go downstairs upset, tell everyone he`s upset and he`s not doing it, fire off a bunch of e-mails, go back and forth, fight with management and all that.

WYNTER: You went as far as issuing an apology to Martin Singer, Travolta`s attorney, regarding John Doe No. 1 and the error in dates. Why did you go as far as to do that?

OKOROCHA: I didn`t think that was that far. I think that`s normal civility that one would expect amongst professionals. He deserved an apology.

WYNTER: You`re also apologizing to John Travolta, in essence?

OKOROCHA: As far as the mistake I made, absolutely. Not on behalf of anybody else or saying that any other part of the store is inaccurate, but for myself and for what I said about the dates, absolutely.

WYNTER: Let`s talk about the $250,000 report here, that you apparently said John Doe No. 2 will settle all of this for that amount. Is that true?

OKOROCHA: That report came out from Radar Online, and the editor at Radar Online is one of my church members, and she`s a good friend. We were just jibber jabbering. I absolutely do not have any authority to settle the case for John Doe No. 2 for $250,000 or anything like that.

WYNTER: Is this a case that`s going to be settled? Perhaps John Doe No. 2`s suit dropped? What`s going to happen here?

OKOROCHA: John Doe No. 2 ain`t going nowhere. And he would never, he would never, ever go anywhere even close. He would wait five years just to have a trial. He would -- he means business.

WYNTER: But people are saying it`s just a matter of time before his lawsuit goes away as well.

OKOROCHA: Really? Really? Put your money up. Everybody in Vegas, put your money up, put your house up. It ain`t happening. Go ahead and bet. Everybody put their bets up now. This case ain`t going nowhere. They can all put their bets. I mean, it may end in a trial whether behind closed doors privately or in public, but whatever the Vegas odds are right now, you can go ahead and wager your house that the case ain`t going nowhere.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Well, so there you have it. He says that the case of John Doe No. 2 is not going anywhere, and now "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" can tell that you the case of John Doe No. 1, who had dropped his lawsuit against Travolta, seemed to come roaring back today because guess who he`s hired as his new attorney? Let`s see, could it be Gloria Allred? Yes indeed.

She said, "I represent John Doe No. 1. Mr. Doe`s lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice which means that he is still legally entitled to file a lawsuit against John Travolta if he chooses."

Sunny Hostin is with me in New York, she`s a legal contributor for our sister network TruTV. We know Gloria`s scorched earth, take no prisoners approach to her work when it comes to these kinds of cases. You have Gloria Allred now potential until the driver`s seat for a lawsuit. Should Travolta be concerned or has John Doe No. 1 lost his credibility because of messing up the dates that he claims Travolta assaulted him?

SUNNY HOSTIN, HLN CONTRIBUTOR: I think Travolta still needs to be concerned because Gloria makes a good point. His lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice, which is legalese for he could file a lawsuit again. It could just mean perhaps he got the date wrong.

Then that lawyer, his former attorney, lost confidence in that client, lost confidence in the lawyer/client relationship, but that doesn`t seem to be the case with Gloria Allred. It is important to note that there are reports that Gloria Allred has in the past represented other people, A.J., that have accused John Travolta of similar conduct and that those cases were settled. So Gloria Allred has a track record when it come to this particular set of circumstances. So I certainly think that this case does not go away for John Travolta.

HAMMER: We have discussed in the past that if you`re taking on Travolta and his good lawyer Marty Singer, you have to have everything in line, which apparently John Doe didn`t to begin with. But now John Doe No. 2 sent e-mails to his bosses seeming to complain about Travolta`s behavior but never mentioned Travolta by name. Marty Singer just told us the allegations in John Doe No. 2`s lawsuit are unraveling just like John Doe No. 1`s ridiculous allegations, which were proven false and impossible. Does that seem that way to you?

HOSTIN: Too soon to tell. Certainly John Doe No. 2`s attorney still seems to have some confidence in his client`s version of events. So I don`t know that that case goes away. But I think we were all pretty surprised at what happened with John Doe No. 1. I mean, getting the date wrong in a lawsuit is a very significant mistake. So I think, you know, the jury is really still out about all of these cases involving John Travolta. He`s still got to defend them.

HAMMER: We`ll see if it go to a jury. Sunny Hostin, thanks very much.

HOSTIN: Thanks.

HAMMER: Everyone is wondering what toll this might be taking on John Travolta and his family. Today we found out how John, his wife Kelly and their daughter are holding up. The revelation in the new issue of "People" magazine. It is out Friday. We got a first look.

With me tonight Joey Bartolomeo, senior writer for "People" magazine. John and Kelly have been through an awful lot during their 20 years of marriage especially losing their teen aged son Jett back in 2009. "People" is reporting that there are some parallels in the Travoltas feeling betrayed again.

JOEY BARTOLOMEO, SENIOR WRITER, "PEOPLE": After Jett died, there were two Bahamians who tried to extort the Travoltas. A friend of theirs said they`re feeling betrayed and John is feeling that betrayal again, but obviously this is nothing compared to what they went through when they lost Jett.

HAMMER: He does have experience with this type of thing as he`s been through it before. But John and Kelly have their 12-year-old daughter Ella. I have to imagine it`s pretty tough. What does "People" know about how they`re explaining this to her?

BARTOLOMEO: This is something that Kelly`s been worried about, one day they`ll have to talk to Ella about things that are out there and that`s something she`s concerned about.

HAMMER: Because you would wonder if she`s seeing it whether it`s on the internet or even friends coming to her at school, that`s something that the kid of any celebrity has to deal with, but it is clear that John Travolta is not backing down to her accusers at all. I think it`s exactly the right move. Is this a fight they`re taking on as a family?

BARTOLOMEO: Absolutely. The sign of how they`re coping with this is the fact that they posted pictures, happy family pictures on their websites on Mother`s Day. I think that`s really an indication that the focus is on them as a family and sticking through this together and that`s what they`re doing.

HAMMER: One thing we`ve learned about them for sure, they`re a tough, strong family unit. Joey Bartolomeo, thank you.

Tonight, Showbiz true confessions from Kardashian mom, Kris Jenner. She`s talking about her daughter Kim Kardashian`s new relationship with Kanye West.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MATT LAUER, HOST, "THE TODAY SHOW": What do you think of Kanye?

KRIS JENNER, KARDASHIAN MOM: We`ve known him for years. He`s a great guy.

LAUER: Is this serious?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Another big confession, this from Tom Cruise. Would he have plastic surgery? Is he sorry for speaking out about Scientology? And what`s life really like with his wife Katie Holmes? Nothing off limits in Tom Cruise`s explosive new confessions today. This is "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" on HLN.

Catch Lindsay Lohan on "Glee"? Take a look at LiLo poking fun at herself here.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It isn`t televised.

LINDSAY LOHAN: What? This thing isn`t even televised? I`m in full image rebranding mode here. There isn`t even a button I can press and a chair that spins around?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE 1: I can assure you, I`m not going anywhere. Apologize to me! good-bye.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE 2: Run away, coward like you always do.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE 1: Excuse me?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: That, of course, "Jersey Housewives`" hot tempered Theresa Giudice on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." Can`t they all just get along?

But there really are two sides of "Housewives" star Theresa Giudice from flipping tables and getting in her sister-in-law`s face on her Bravo reality show to flipping the script and showing her fans a quieter side of herself while raising an awful lot of money for a great cause during this season`s "Celebrity Apprentice", it`s a kinder, gentler Giudice. Which one is the real Theresa?

Theresa is the proud author of her third new cookbook, "Fabulicious: Fast and Fit." Theresa joins me in New York for the Showbiz Newsmaker. It is nice to see you.

So listen. The truth is you really have made a name for yourself in terms of how people initially got to know you by behaving badly. It`s what we saw on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." You parlayed that into great success. Bad behavior is the secret to your success. Can you step back and actually see that bad behavior is the secret?

THERESA GIUDICE, AUTHOR: If you want to say that.

HAMMER: Do you not feel that way?

GIUDICE: Everyone did love the table flip. I did see a clip of it on the Emmys. So I guess everyone was in love with the whole table flip. I did it once in my life. I don`t think I`ll ever flip another table. But what you see on "Celebrity Apprentice" is really me.

HAMMER: Okay. Let`s talk about that for a second because it is a different type of person that we`re seeing there, and you did very well by being that Theresa.

GIUDICE: Well, that is the Theresa that`s me.

HAMMER: You made it almost to the very end. Let`s take a look at you in action on "Celebrity Apprentice."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: This broad wants that red-headed [INAUDIBLE] so bad that I have to make believe that I want her equally bad and manipulate Theresa.

If I give you her, then you have to give me those two.

GIUDICE: That`s not fair.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, it is. You want her that bad.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: See, on "Housewives" you might have been yelling more, throwing things around a little more, I would suspect. So you say that`s the real you. Why isn`t that the person we saw on "The Real Housewives?"

GIUDICE: If you go back to first season -- we`re in the fourth season of "Housewives." Right now what you`re seeing on "Housewives" happened a year ago. But if you see the fourth season and the second season, I think I`m the same person.

HAMMER: You think you`re closer to the person we`re seeing on "Celebrity Apprentice."

GIUDICE: Danielle was coming at me.

HAMMER: You`re talking about Danielle, your sister-in-law.

GIUDICE: No Danielle, third season, I`m saying from the beginning. She was attacking me, so I just attack back. That`s what I`m saying. Here`s my family that comes on the show, and you know they`re saying all these things about me, so I need to -- you know. And it`s hard. Put yourself in my shoes if your family is saying things about you.

HAMMER: Everybody has family problems which is why people can relate to you. And you and your sister-in-law and brother have issues that you`re dealing with. What have you learned about dealing with family?

GIUDICE: Family, they never go away. There`s good times and bad times. There`s ups and downs and you just got to work with it. I`m sure we`re going to get past this. Like I said, what you`re seeing right now happened a year ago. Right now I`m focusing on my four beautiful daughters, my husband.

HAMMER: And all your many projects. The question is will you come back on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" for a fifth season?

GIUDICE: We`ll see.

HAMMER: Have they asked you back yet? It hasn`t happened yet?

GIUDICE: It hasn`t happened yet.

HAMMER: Good to see you and congratulations on the cookbooks. We look forward to seeing you on the finale of "Celebrity Apprentice" this Sunday. You can check out Theresa`s great new cookbook. It is "Fabulicious: Fast and Fit," available right now.

And tonight we have Showbiz true confessions to reveal. Everybody want to know the deal about this. Who is Khloe Kardashian`s real father? Her mom is speaking out today.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LAUER: There are questions as to who is Khloe`s real father, that it might not be your former husband, Robert Kardashian.

JENNER: Ridiculous.

LAUER: Yet you would like her to take a DNA test?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Matt going at it. Kris Jenner, shocking new confession about Khloe Kardashian`s real dad. Did Kris really make Khloe take a DNA test?

Another Showbiz true confession, this one from John Mayer. Does he regret speaking out about Jen Aniston and Jessica Simpson?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JOHN MAYER: It was a very strange time. And it sort of, like, rocketed me into adulthood. A violent crash into being an adult.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Total change for John. "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" has two big star confessions, next.

This is "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" on HLN. Another one bites the dust on "Dancing with the Stars." Cast-off Maria Menounos tells "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" why she loved being on the show.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MARIA MENOUNOS, CAST-OFF, "DANCING WITH THE STARS": I learned how to dance, which is something I always wanted to do. It was the most incredible experience. So, for me, this was like the most amazing experience of my life. I wouldn`t take a second of pain back.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ROBERT DOWNEY, JR.: I thought I didn`t qualify. Apparently I`m volatile, self-obsessed and don`t play well with others.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: "The Avengers" already blasting box office records as it soars past the $1 billion mark worldwide. You would think all the Marvel superheroes are getting a big slice of the pie, but I can tell you that Robert Downey, Jr. rules this roost with an iron fist. Showbiz movie madness: "The Avengers`" big payday. I can`t believe it took me so long, but I finally saw the movie last night. Wow. To me, the entire cast deserves a huge payday, but "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" can reveal that Robert Downey, Jr. is reportedly the one that`s due to pull in a little over eight times more than his "Avengers" co-stars.

"SHOWBIZ TONIGHT"`s Nischelle Turner joins me from Hollywood. Help us understand this while I get Robert`s agent on the phone to help me out here.

NISCHELLE TURNER: Don`t forget about your girl when you get him on the line, A.J. This is so surreal. You got me? good. This is really surreal, A.J., but this is very true. Robert Downey, Jr. is reportedly getting $50 million from his work in "The Avengers" but you have to take into account that "Iron Man" earned nearly $600 million worldwide in 2008. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Robert`s people renegotiated his movie deal to make up for additional cash every time he appears as "Iron Man" in future Marvel films. And add to that, the back-end compensation and the box office bonuses, well, you`re just getting some crazy cash.

HAMMER: It is remarkable. I think he deserves it. "Iron Man" was a huge hit, but so was "Captain America" with Chris Evans. That grossed close to $370 million around the world. How much did Chris get in the deal?

TURNER: Well, he didn`t fare as well as Robert Downey, Jr. And neither did any of the co-stars, actually. You know, Chris, Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo will probably get 2 to $3 million from "The Avengers" even with all the bonuses. Chalk that up to Marvel taking a really hard line with its money when signing these guys on. Now, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson did a little bit better. They are getting a reported 4 to $6 million apiece. Not Robert Downey, Jr. money by any means, but A.J., I have a hard time feeling bad for any of them. You can give it to me.

HAMMER: How could you feel bad? "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT"`s Nischelle Turner. Thanks, Nischelle.

Here`s the Showbiz lineup. At the bottom the hour, confessions from Tom Cruise. Has he had plastic surgery? Is he sorry for speaking out about Scientology? He reveals all.

A Beastie Boys classic. The video for "Sabotage," so cool. What happens when a bunch of kids try to re-enact the video?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ADAM HOROVITZ, BEASTIE BOY: Oh, my god, it`s a mirage, I`m telling y`all it`s sabotage

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: An unbelievably adorable tribute to the late Adam Yauch. Coming up, this is "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" on HLN.

Take a look at this. Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Joe Mangianello and Matt Boma on the cover of "Entertainment Weekly" for their new film, "Magic Mike".

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Big news breaking tonight on "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT". Showbiz true confessions from TV`s royal family. Kim Kardashian`s mom is spilling the beans on her daughter`s hot new romance.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What do you think of Kanye?

JENNER: Well, we`ve known him for years. He`s a great guy.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Is this serious?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Kris Jenner sets the record straight on Kim-ye.

And Tom Cruise is back on top of the box office after all of those bizarre public explosions. Who can forget the couch jumping? Tonight Tom reveals how he turned his life around and tells all about life with Katie and their daughter Suri.

ANNOUNCER: TV`s most provocative entertainment news show continues right now.

HAMMER: Welcome back to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" and thanks for watching. Tonight: Showbiz true confessions. A stunning new revelation tonight from TV`s royal reality family. Kim Kardashian`s new beau, hip-hop star Kanye West, will be featured on the family`s reality TV show this season. Yes, that Kim Kardashian. The same Kim Kardashian who just last month told "Cosmopolitan" magazine "I wouldn`t have another relationship shown on the show." Okay. She`s changed her mind. But why?

Just this morning in a brand-new interview, Kardashian mom Kris Jenner went one on one with "The Today Show"`s Matt Lauer answering the questions everybody wants answered. Is it true love from Kim this time around? Is Khloe a true Kardashian? And are Khloe and Lamar headed for divorce court?

Kelli Zink, the host of celebtv.com, coming to me from Chicago tonight. From Atlanta, Jenn Hobby, who is the co-host of "The Burt Show". Every day we`re seeing more and more of Kim-ye. They`ve been making their way from one very public event to the next. And they do look like the ever-loving couple. This morning Matt Lauer asked Kris Jenner if Kim`s relationship with Kanye is the real deal. Watch what she told him on "The Today Show".

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JENNER: Well, we`ve known him for years. He`s a great guy.

LAUER: Is this serious?

JENNER: You know what? I`ve stopped commenting about the -- you know, the details in my kids` friendships and relationships.

LAUER: They`ve been photographed everywhere together.

JENNER: I can get nothing but in trouble. But you know, he`s great and she seems happy so --

LAUER: Is she in love with him?

JENNER: When your kids are happy -- you`ll have to ask her that.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Do you think that mom is playing it coy just to keep curious eyes on their reality show, especially now that we know Kanye will be appearing?

KELLI ZINK, HOST, CELEBTV.COM: 100 percent. I guarantee that answer was so scripted. I love how Lauer is like this is a great interview, it will go down in my career. It`s hilarious She knows exactly what to say and just enough to bait us like you`ll have to tune in if you want to see if they`re really a couple or not.

HAMMER: I`m pretty sure she gave me a verbatim answer, the exact same thing when I asked her the question not that long ago. But I actually think the whole thing can really backfire on the entire family if Kim`s relationship goes bad while everybody is watching.

Now Jen, everyone will be tuning in just to get a closer look at Kim and Kanye. Do you think it`s true love or just smart business?

HOBBY: I absolutely think this is true love. I know --

HAMMER: What?

HOBBY: They`re both very smart businesspeople, they both love the limelight, but these two have a chemistry that is undeniable. I`m hoping that this new season shows us that on camera, that this is real love in this relationship.

HAMMER: Is that what you said about Kim and Kris Humphries?

HOBBY: No. That was a made-for-TV romance.

HAMMER: I`m allowing you to be a romantic. Kris Jenner addressed those pressing reports that her daughter Khloe is not actually a true Kardashian, that Robert Kardashian is not her father. Well, Kris tried to set the record straight today. She actually spoke about trying to convince Khloe to take a DNA test so they could put all the rumors to rest. Watch that with me.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JENNER: You got to see what we went through to try to get her to try to do it. But she`s very comfortable in her own skin.

LAUER: So Khloe`s father is --

JENNER: Robert Kardashian.

LAUER: And there`s no doubt about that in your mind.

JENNER: No doubt.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: No doubt. So Kris used to laugh off those reports, but then this, you hear about these attempts to get a DNA test to prove everybody wrong. Kelli, are you thinking more power to the Kardashians for sharing with their fans what`s really going on here?

ZINK: No way. They can control the results of that DNA test. It`s just like the time Kim got her butt x-rayed. This is ridiculous. If you listen to her, she said we had to get her to do this test. So sounds like Khloe thinks this is ridiculous, too.

HAMMER: Sounds like people really wonder what`s going on with Khloe and her NBA star Lamar Odom after she said they were taking time off from the show. Then there are reports that they`re done, kaput.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JENNER: The reality show was not canceled. So that rumor was just silly. And it`s more or less a hiatus that they want to take so Lamar can focus on basketball now.

LAUER: I can`t believe I`m asking these things.

JENNER: They`re so happy, it`s almost like to be with them --

LAUER: No they are happy, there are no marital problems?

JENNER: Nothing. Farthest from the truth.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Sound vaguely familiar to anybody here? Is it just me? We were all led to believe that all was well with Kim K. and Kris Humphries even if you, Jenn, were a nonbeliever of that relationship, rightly so, as it turned out. But are you buying what Kris is selling here? Because there`s a bit of a credibility issue now.

HOBBY: There is. And I will give you that, for sure, A.J., but I do think that these two are taking time to allow him to focus on basketball, make that Olympic team and get some space away from the cameras. I actually have tremendous respect for what Khloe had to say about them taking a break from the cameras, she wanted to support what her husband`s wishes were. Khloe`s a really strong woman. And you might expect her to say, hey, I got a career here, too. But she`s taking a backseat to his career, which I actually really admire.

HAMMER: I do, too, but I have to add again I think it`s hard for anybody to really know what the real truth is now because they put so much out there, some of it proves to be true, some certainly does not as we`ve seen in the past.

But we move from Kris Jenner`s true family confession to John Mayer`s true love confessions. He stunned Ellen when he opened up about his failed relationships with Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston. Watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MAYER: I sort of lost my head for a while. I didn`t want to ask for directions. Then I got hit. And I did a couple really dumb interviews, then it kind of woke me up. I don`t remember even having the Rolling Stone cover. It was at a very strange time. It sort of rocketed me into adulthood. It was a violent crash into being an adult.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes, now I`m listening to John there and I was one of the people who had wished he had realized this sooner. But I got to give the guy credit for admitting his mistake here. I do get the feeling he`s learned a lesson. Are you buying it?

ZINK: I miss John Mayer, A.J., I miss when he was tweeting about this stuff when he said that Jessica Simpson`s sex was amazing. I miss that John Mayer. I don`t want this remorseful adult.

HAMMER: He`s doing a little damage control in addition to trying to be himself. Because there are people that tell me they can`t listen to his music any more because of all the other stuff they think of when they think of John. He made another big and I think an important confession about a secret obsession he can`t seem to shake.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ELLEN DEGENERES, HOST, "ELLEN": We share kind of an obsession about with the show is --

MAYER: Well, "The Bachelor". I don`t feel like it`s my fault. It`s not like a guilty pleasure. It`s designed to be a pleasure.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: He did say he would take a meeting if "The Bachelor" called him. I`m thinking he needs to go for it.

HOBBY: I think I`d love him back as "The Bachelor," because then we`d get him back on Twitter tweeting about these things and probably becoming infatuated with himself all over again, which is what got him in trouble. John Mayer, do "The Bachelor."

HAMMER: I thank you both. We have even more Showbiz true confessions. They`re coming from Tom Cruise. Nischelle Turner is in Hollywood tonight. Nischelle, what`s up with this?

TURNER: Boy, A.J., Tom Cruise is back on top and he`s telling all in a brand new interview that is just revealed. Now, when I say, all, I mean, all. About how he deals with crazy rumors about him, his brutal Brooke Shields blast, whether he might have plastic surgery, his life with Katie Holmes and controversial ties to Scientology. Is he really going to stop talking about Scientology for good?

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Check out Tom Cruise strutting his stuff as a rock star in his upcoming new movie "Rock of Ages." He sings, he looks great doing it. But he`s baring more than his buff bod. He`s getting more personal than we`ve ever seen him.

Welcome back to "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT." I`m A.J. Hammer. Tonight: Cruise confessions. Believe it or not, Tom Cruise is turning 50 this summer. 50 years old. Looks like that milestone is putting him in a very confessional mood. Nischelle Turner in Hollywood. He`s really opening up, isn`t he?

TURNER: Yes, he is. But A.J., I`m still getting over the fact that Tom Cruise is almost 50. But to mark this occasion, he is getting really personal. In a new interview with "Playboy" and in Showbiz true confessions he`s being blunt about the mistakes that almost killed his career.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

TURNER (voice-over): It was a dark time for tom cruise. That ill-advised couch jumping on the Oprah Winfrey show.

TOM CRUISE: I think you should be a little more responsible.

TURNER: And that ill advised Matt Lauer clash on "The Today Show" left Cruise`s career on life support. A comeback seemed like an impossible mission.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Your mission, should you choose to accept it --

TURNER: Nothing that a $600 million worldwide smash can`t fix. Fresh off the biggest hit of his career, "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," he`s once again the top dog in Hollywood. Now the soon-to-be 50 superstar is showing off his ripped bod in "W" magazine and a new interview in "Playboy" magazine.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: This is probably the most honest he`s been in an interview.

TURNER: Tom Cruise owns his screw-ups, saying, quote, "it was important to me to take responsibility, to take a hard look and decide where I go from here. All you can do is learn and say, this is the way it`s going to go from now on. Here is the line."

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He seems actually kind of like he`s looking back on those incidents. He seems like he`s thinking about how it played out, how it looked to people.

TURNER: One thing that changed, there will be no more of this.

CRUISE: Matt, you`re glib.

TURNER: Cruise got slammed left and right for that 2005 "Today Show" clash when an interview to promote "War of the Worlds" nearly turned into a shouting match with Matt Lauer over Cruise`s Scientology beliefs.

About that incident, Cruise tells "Playboy," quote, "when I go back and look at it, I find myself thinking, I don`t feel that way. I get how it came across, but I don`t feel that way and I never have. Telling people how to live their lives? I saw how that came across."

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He was just almost apologetic about sounding that way because it wasn`t really who he is as a person.

TURNER: Now Cruise suggests his days of being so preachy about Scientology are over. He tells Playboy, quote, "everyone now knows that if I`m dealing with humanitarian things, I will talk about that. When I`m promoting a film, I`m not going to get caught up in anything else and that includes all my personal things."

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He kind of seems like he`s pulling back a little. He does seem like he`s trying to keep his Scientology beliefs separate from his movie career.

TURNER: While he`s given up the couch jumping, Cruise has not stopped gushing about his wife of six years, Katie Holmes. She`s funny and charming, and when she walks into the room, I just feel better. He adds, I don`t know what to say. I`m just happy. And I have been since the moment I met her. What we have is very special.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I think for a lot of people who thought, oh, this was not a relationship that was going to last, it just seems like they are truly in love.

TURNER: Cruise`s latest role is as a rock and roll star in the movie musical "Rock of Ages." And in a photo shoot for "W" magazine he shows off the ripped physique he sports as the rock star he plays in the movie.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I had to do a double take because his body is rocking. He seriously never seem to age. He looks the same as in "Top Gun."

TURNER: But don`t think he gets his youthful look from cosmetic surgery. He tells "Playboy," quote, "I haven`t and I never would."

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: He doesn`t seem to have thoughts or fears or issues about turning 50. He says he`ll be filming a movie in Iceland on his birthday. He seems like he`s at a perfect place in his life and career.

HAMMER: I love how much he`s letting his guard down, Nischelle. I was one of the people who thought he got a raw deal with all the criticism over the couch jumping. Matt Lauer`s stuff, not so much. But the last time I saw Tom he seemed to have this humility. And now I think, and tell me if you agree, there`s no stopping the guy.

TURNER: When you`re in a good place and all the things are clicking in your life, you look good and you feel good and you can tell by the look on his face. He just feels good, he`s in a good place. And I love that.

HAMMER: I can`t wait to see this movie. We have more incredible true star confessions tonight. I find this hard to believe. The gorgeous Hayden Panettiere was the victim of bullying in middle school.

TURNER: We caught up with Hayden at the huge ABC red carpet event where all the shows for the fall were announced. She`ll be on a new show called "Nashville" playing a teen star. She revealed to us that her teen years were actually a torture all because of bullying. Watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HAYDEN PANETIERRE: I was bullied, I think, middle school was probably the worst for me. Girls in middle school are brutal. And I`ve seen it with my own eyes. You have to keep in mind that bullying -- people who bully are insecure. It all comes from their insecurities. And it is the most horrific thing. And the things I`ve seen, it drives people to break your heart, and it makes me so furious. And I went through it myself. And I had to learn how to pick myself up and, you know, process it in my head and realize that it was not about me, that it was about them and their fault and there`s nothing wrong with me. There`s something, you know, wrong with them.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

TURNER: You know what I love about this, A.J.? I think we all have a personal story, maybe a time in our lives when we were bullied. But when you hear celebrities stand up and speak out and say, you know what? This happened to me, too. I`m not alone. I really think that goes a long way.

HAMMER: Good for her. Thank you so much.

As we move on tonight, a Showbiz tribute to Beastie Boy great Adam "MCA" Yauch. Everybody from P. Diddy to Kid Rock had been giving it up to MCA since he passed away earlier this month. Now this loving tribute to MCA that`s blowing up the internet.

Next the adorable kids that are redoing the classic Beastie Boys video "Sabotage."

Now a Showbiz true confession from J. Lo. Is she returning to "American Idol" next season?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DEGENERES: Will you go back next year?

JENNIFER LOPEZ: I don`t know.

DEGENERES: I hope you do because I love you on that show. I think you say exactly the right thing.

LOPEZ: I enjoy it. I really do enjoy it. This is my second year. I don`t know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being three and four, now they`re getting more mobile, about to go to school. I just don`t know.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: I always loved that video. That`s the Beastie Boys` "Sabotage." Adam "MCA" Yauch, Ad-rock, and Mike D paying tribute to `70s cop shows. Hard to believe he`s gone at 47 after his battle with cancer.

We`re not the only ones paying tribute to the Beastie Boys` Adam Yauch. Celebrities from Coldplay, Kid Rock, all paying their respects to Adam. Some are touching, some even funny. Now this fantastic new video tribute to the late rapper. A Gen-X filmmaker enlisted his two adorable kids and his nephew for a remake of "Sabotage." You`ve got to watch this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HOROVITZ: I can`t stand it, I know you planned it. I`m going to set it straight this Watergate. I can`t stand rockin` when you`re in here, because your crystal ball ain`t so crystal clear. So while you sit back and wonder why, I`ve got this [EXPLETIVE] thorn in my side. Oh my god, it`s a mirage! I`m telling y`all, it`s sabotage. So so so, so listen up because you can`t say nothing. I`ll shut you down with a -

HAMMER: See, I wasn`t allowed to play with guns at that age. That wins for most adorable MCA tribute.

Now on location at the ABC upfronts where they just announced all the hot new shows on the network and where Kelly Clarkson just defended reality music competitions. Kelly, of course the original American Idol. She`s now getting set to be a judge herself on the new ABC music show "Duets". she knows a thing or two about how these shows create stars. When "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" caught up with her on location, she told us why she think the shows are a great way to find America`s best singers despite what all the critics are saying.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KELLY CLARKSON: Everybody says like now people are -- musicians are coming out of TV programs and people are bashing it. But the reason why I love it most of the time is because there is no A&R anymore in the entertainment world. If you don`t make it right off the bat, if you`re a band that goes to a label, you get dropped. What`s awesome about this show, the singing shows, especially with "Duets", you get to see them in different facets with people that already know what they`re doing in the industry, it is a chance to actually develop them as artists.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Music shows can be a great way for really talented singers to get known just like Kelly.

That`s it for "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT". Thanks for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer. Remember, you can watch "SHOWBIZ TONIGHT" exclusively weeknights at 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific right here on HLN.
