NISCHELLE TURNER, HOST: Tonight, Madonna madness. Her world tour is under threat tonight after she takes a controversial stance. Are fans going to her concerts in Russia in danger?

Hello. I`m Nischelle Turner. Tonight, new Osbourne outrage. Jack Osbourne issues a brand new slam against NBC calling B.S. on the network`s denial of claims it cut Jack out of a new show because of his multiple sclerosis diagnosis. His mom Sharon already quit her NBC show "America`s Got Talent" over this dispute.

So what`s next in this war of words?

First though, tonight, Madonna madness. Madonna is calling for peace tonight as security on her world tour is tightening up. All that after threats of violence are revealed. The targets? Fans who go to Madonna`s concerts in Russia.

So how real is the danger, and are Madonna`s words fanning the flames?

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

TURNER (voice-over): To say Madonna knows controversy would be an understatement. Madonna and controversy are best friends. She`s ticked off powerful foes like the Catholic Church, parents groups, Elton John. But today, Madonna has really stepped up her controversy game by sparking a U.S./Russian international incident so big -- it`s sparked protests in Russia and even a warning from the U.S. State Department.

MADONNA, SINGER: I`m blessed to be from a country where I have a right to express my opinion. OK?

TURNER: At a concert in Moscow, Madonna gave an impassioned talk about free speech and she gave a very controversial shout-out.

MADONNA: I just want to say a few words about Pussy Riot.

TURNER: Pussy Riot is a feminist punk rock band. Three of its members have been sitting in a Russian jail for five months because of one of their performances. And Madonna used her concert to call for their freedom.

MADONNA: I think that they have done something courageous. I think they have paid the price for this act. And I pray for their freedom.

TURNER: The outrageous antics and the illegal public performances of Pussy Riot make Madonna in her heyday seem tamed. In February, members of the band staged an impromptu concert at the country`s main Orthodox Church and sang a song criticizing Russia`s president Vladimir Putin who they claim is too cozy with the Orthodox Church. For their efforts, the three women were arrested, charged with hooliganism and threatened with seven years in prison.

PETER VERZILOV, HUSBAND OF ARRESTED PUSSY RIOT MEMBER: We did realize that at some point we could get arrested. That was always a possibility. But, of course, no one expected that the arrest would come after this particular performance.

TURNER: The group`s arrest has become a rallying cry for big stars, Sting, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Franz Ferdinand, have all supported them. But Madonna has taken the cause straight to the heart of Russia during her tour.

MADONNA: I`m against censorship. And I`m -- you know, my whole career I`ve always promoted freedom of expression, freedom of speech. So, obviously, I think what`s happening to them is unfair.

TURNER: While on stage in Moscow, she made the call louder.

MADONNA: So to these three girls who have been in jail now for five months who are going through a trial right now, I pray for your freedom.

TURNER: The reaction to Madonna`s typical outspokenness has been explosive. Some Russian protesters burned a Madonna poster in Moscow and now the U.S. State Department has gotten involved issuing a security message to U.S. citizens. Alerting them to a threat of possible violence in connection with Madonna`s Russia tour. But Madonna`s going ahead undeterred.

MADONNA: And let`s hope that one day we really will live in a world filled with peace and freedom and tolerance.

TURNER: Her spokesperson tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, Madonna is aware of the State Department`s warning, but she plans to go ahead with her concerts in Russia. And at her show last night, as if her words weren`t explicit enough --

MADONNA: Enough about freedom. Let`s sing about love.

TURNER: She ended her speech by singing a slowed down version of "Like a Virgin." During which she revealed the words Pussy Riot stamped across her back. Yes, that`s Madonna. Singer, Elton John nemesis, and international free speech advocate.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

TURNER: Now Madonna`s next Russian show is scheduled for tomorrow in St. Petersburg.

There are new revelations tonight in the Osbourne battle with NBC. Now SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can reveal that Jack Osbourne has now joined his mom Sharon in publicly lashing out at the network.

Let`s get you up to date with "Showbiz Newsline." The feud came to light July 24th when the always outspoken Sharon Osbourne tweeted she was walking away from her judge`s seat on NBC`s "America`s Got Talent." Sharon kept everybody guessing about why she was leaving until yesterday revealing to "The New York Post" she believed NBC discriminated against her son Jack by firing him from their new reality show "Stars Earn Stripes," claiming he got the ax because he has multiple sclerosis.

Well, that was quickly followed by NBC telling SHOWBIZ TONIGHT the network does not discriminate on any basis. Now Jack Osbourne has joined the battle, tweeting, "I took part in a 16-hour challenge over 30 miles with a 40-pound rock on my back in January. I had MS then. Don`t tell me what physically demanding is. NBC says they didn`t fire me over my diagnosis?"

Jack ended his Twitter rant with -- well, words we just cannot repeat on TV. Let`s leave it there.

With me now here in Hollywood, we`ve got Nikki Boyer who is host of "Daytime in No Time" on Yahoo! TV and from New York, Jeremy Kyle, host of the "Jeremy Kyle Show" beginning its all new season on September 10th.

Jeremy, you know I`ve seen you in action on your show. I would say that you are the master of conflict resolution. So what do you think here? Is there a simple way to just put this whole Osbourne/NBC battle to rest?

JEREMY KYLE, HOST, "THE JEREMY KYLE SHOW": You sort of wonder, don`t you, Nischelle? You sort of wonder, I mean, there`s going to be two sides to this. You sort of think about her. She`s being a mom. She`s putting morals before money. I`ve got a 22-year-old, a 3-year-old. I`d do exactly the same thing. If anybody did anything to my kids I`d do exactly the same.

NBC, they come out, they say it`s not true. That`s an interesting statement from Jack today, 16-hour challenge or 16-kilometer challenge, 30 hours in January when he had it. He comes out publicly with it. She walks away from "America`s Got Talent." It`s a big, big mess.

The thing about it is, for me there`s a wider issue. You know, any sort of discrimination about anybody with a disease or disability, fundamentally wrong. I thought if I have to day, I like the Osbournes. It was one of the best things I ever saw on television. I like Sharon Osbourne, she`s feisty.

TURNER: Yes.

KYLE: She`s got something to say. You know what, nobody is going to give any stuff to her kids without her saying I`m out of here. And I respect her for that. I`d do exactly the same, I have to say. I really would.

TURNER: You know, well, I have to -- let me play devil`s advocate a little bit here, and say, from a network`s point of view, they probably think there could be a big liability if something happened to him medically. Now Jack claims, though, that he did everything but sign on the dotted line and NBC says, look. We gave him alternative choices of roles that he could play in the show but he didn`t want them.

So this now takes us to our SHOWBIZ Flashpoint. And Nikki, I`ll ask you. Whose side are you on, the Osbournes or NBC?

NIKKI BOYER, HOST, "DAYTIME IN NO TIME" ON YAHOO TV: OK. This is where it gets hairy because if I was the mother of a son who had MS, I think I would be doing exactly what Sharon is doing. If I was the head of NBC, I would probably do exactly what the head of NBC is doing. There`s going to be live ammunition in this show. It`s going to be grueling.

At the end of the day, NBC would rather deal with the flack and slack that they`re getting now than they would with something that could potentially go wrong in the show. But I say also with that, same breath, don`t mess with the lioness protecting her cub.

(LAUGHTER)

BOYER: That`s all I got to say.

TURNER: And Sharon Osbourne is mama bear to the extreme.

BOYER: Yes, she is.

TURNER: Yes, she is. And you know, and fans of "America`s Got Talent" have seen judges and hosts come and go. The show survived. But Jeremy, I will ask you this. What do you think this battle, will it overshadow the show that people have really grown to love? And do you think people will still tune in for "America`s Got Talent"?

KYLE: I`m sure they will. I absolutely agree with Nikki. She is the lioness. She is the mother. She -- when she speaks, you know, I mean, she was in England for a long, long time doing "X Factor." That was a big thing when she left. I just -- I just think -- I think Nikki is spot on. It must have been a really difficult decision for NBC considering you can go --

TURNER: Right.

KYLE: Maybe you could have gone about it in a different way. I think it`s going to rumble on and on. But I think you have to look at the show, "America`s Got Talent" will continue. Yes, she`s grabbed hold of this. Jack is now involved. That`s the Osbournes doing what the Osbournes do best, you know, and to be fair to her, I absolutely agree with her stance. That`s it as far as I`m concerned.

TURNER: Yes. Well, at the end of the day, you know, she`s saying it`s my family. And nothing comes before my family.

(CROSSTALK)

KYLE: But I`ll be a judge --

TURNER: Nikki Boyer, Jeremy Kyle --

KYLE: -- if they want to offer me a job, it would be fine.

(LAUGHTER)

TURNER: Me, too, Jeremy. I`m with you.

Thank you guys very much.

And you cab catch an all-new season of the "Jeremy Kyle Show" September 10th. Check your local listings for show time.

Moving on now from one red-hot Hollywood controversy to another. Is Kim K. really honored that her boyfriend Kanye West calls her the perfect bitch? A brand new love song from Kanye to Kim that has a lot of people scratching their heads.

Plus the iconic movie "Footloose" epitomized team rebellion in the 1980s and the remake did the same for teens today. So is it going to grab the number one spot on the SHOWBIZ "Countdown of Movie Remakes Done Right"? We`re counting down the top remake classics.

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

TURNER: Tonight, J.Lo`s massive extortion lawsuit. Jennifer Lopez is suing her former driver for 20 million bucks after he filed a lawsuit against her. Lopez claims her one-time driver threatened to reveal personal details about her life if she didn`t give him nearly $3 million in hush money. The driver filed his lawsuit after he was forced to resign last year. But he says he was unfairly fired and wants J.Lo to pay up for that.

Guess we`ll just have to wait and see who wins this battle.

Next up Kanye`s love song for Kim K. The title? "Perfect Bitch." Is that supposed to be a compliment? Hot debate coming up next.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

TURNER: A lot of people look up to country icon Randy Travis. So this next story may surprise you. SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can report the singer was just arrested and charged with DWI near his home in Texas. And this all happened after he crashed his car.

This is the second time this year Travis has been slammed with a booze- related charge. But here`s the strangest thing of all about this wild story. Witnesses told TMZ that when the cops pulled Travis from his car, he was naked.

Tonight, Kanye`s love song? Kanye West`s newest CD "Cruel Summer" hasn`t even released yet but it`s already stirring controversy. Kanye debuted a preview of a new song from that album at a New York nightclub on Saturday night. Once again, he is professing his love for his girlfriend Kim Kardashian in a song that she apparently inspired, tweeting, "I wrote the song `Perfect Bitch` about Kim."

Yes. That`s the title all right. And Kanye is hoping it`s going to be his next big hit. Now Kanye has since deleted that tweet but it is that crass title that really got the Twitterverse into a hot debate.

So let me bring in from New York Kim Serafin who`s the senior editor at "In Touch Weekly" and also Jeremy Kyle, host of "Jeremy Kyle Show" beginning this new season September 10th.

OK, so guys, SHOWBIZ reached out to Kim Kardashian but she didn`t get back to us by showtime. But Kim is reportedly telling friends that she`s honored and that she loves this song and that she knows Kanye didn`t mean anything bad by it. But I`m thinking this is so not OK.

KYLE: Ladies first.

TURNER: So Jeremy -- OK. But let me get to you because I actually do want to hear what you have to say about this. If Kim is fine with this, then maybe I should just shut up and be fine with it, right?

KYLE: I say -- I was thinking about this today. And I was thinking, if I said that in England that word, if I called my wife that word, I`d be out of the house for three days. Without any shadow of a doubt. That`s a done deal. And I`ve been married 12 years. So rest assured I`ve never said that.

But it`s really difficult because we sit here and we think, well, if she`s all right with it, that`s their choice, I guess. I mean is it a -- is it a ploy? Is it an attempt to sell records? I don`t know.

TURNER: You know, artists use music, though, to share their deepest feelings about love and life in their songs. And I guess maybe I don`t know. Like Jeremy said. Are people making too big of a deal out of this? If they like it, we love it, should we just chalk this up to his creativity?

KIM SERAFIN, SENIOR EDITOR, IN TOUCH WEEKLY: Yes, you know, it`s surprising because Kanye West really never speaks his mind. He really never says anything controversial. I`m kidding, of course. You know, this is Kanye West. And reportedly this is a nice song. It`s a song about how he searched for other women. He dated other women but finally found the perfect one.

So, you know, I think these two are perfect for each other. They seem to really care about each other. This seems to be a great relationship and again, it is kind of a romantic song. And if neither of them are offended, he`s professing his love --

TURNER: Yes.

SERAFIN: -- then I don`t think anyone else should be offended at all.

TURNER: You know there are people that say they`re both kind of ego maniacs and they do make the perfect couple. And by the way, don`t forget, Kanye does have a song called "Inwards" in Paris. So he doesn`t really play with the safe angle to much.

Kim Serafin and Jeremy Kyle, thank you guys. And please don`t miss an all- new season of the "Jeremy Kyle Show" September 10th. Check your local listings for show times.

And get this, the Kardashian family just got a little bit bigger. Tonight, SHOWBIZ introduces you to the next generation of the Kardashians.

Plus, Vegas goes country. The superstar duo that`s bringing Nashville to the strip.

And Gaga`s new move to help Lindsay Lohan`s career. How Mama Monster is taking Li-Lo under her wing. That tops the BUZZ today.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

TURNER (voice-over): A Gaga gig for Li-Lo. Lindsay Lohan will reportedly be Lady Gaga`s next music video star. A brand new story in the "New York Post" claims that Lady G. is helping Lindsay get her acting career back on track by casting her new pal in a music video for her upcoming album "Art Pop." Lindsay just wrapped shooting back-to-back films, "The Canyons," and Lifetime`s "Liz and Dick" so she could squeeze in the potential Gaga gig.

Faith and Tim`s Vegas getaway. Faith Hill and Tim McGraw have just announced they are bringing some country to the Vegas Strip. They`ll be commuting from Nashville to Vegas for a run of 40 concerts at the Venetian starting in December and running through April 2013. The shows will be weekends only so the couple can commute from their Nashville home where their three kids are in school.

Kardashians` newest kid. Kourtney Kardashian`s brand new baby girl has just made her public debut. Kourtney poses on the cover of the new issue of "Us Weekly" with her new daughter, Penelope Scotland Disick and Penelope`s older brother Mason. Kourtney tells the magazine, nothing could prepare me for how hard I fell in love with her. The brand new Kardashian clan member arrived just a month ago on July 8th.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

TURNER: I love that Mason, too. He`s so cute.

All right. Moving on tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is revealing the best done movie remakes of all time. What`s your favorite? Maybe Johnny Depp`s brilliant performance in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." That remake of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" was a huge box office hit. But is good enough to beat out other amazing remakes like "Casino Royale" and "Father of the Bride? It`s the SHOWBIZ "Countdown of Remakes Done Right."

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

TURNER: Tonight, Michael Phelps` secret girlfriend revealed. Michael Phelps made huge waves in the London`s Olympic pool. Now the revelation of his model girlfriend is making huge waves on dry land. By now you`ve seen the pictures of Olympic great Phelps with Megan Rossi. But are they a good match or is this mystery woman hurting Phelps` incredible Olympic reputation?

Well, joining me here in Hollywood with the exclusive reputation rundown is Howard Bragman, vice chairman of Reputation.com.

And Howard, thanks for coming in today. Now, OK, 22 medals, record- breaking performances. You know, this has been an incredible Olympics for Michael Phelps. And some argue that he`s the greatest Olympian of all time. But the question I guess we have now is this revelation of his girlfriend here. Does this help or does this hurt his golden reputation, for lack of a better phrase?

HOWARD BRAGMAN, REPUTATION.COM: You know, his reputation was -- I was going to stay sterling but you are right. It`s golden. It was golden before and it`s still golden. He`s in the 90 percent positive range which is outrageous in this society because even people we love, you know, there`s 15 percent of people that I can`t stand them. Everybody loves Michael Phelps.

If he was engaged to this woman, there`d be a lot more scrutiny. They perceive him as a young guy who`s worked really hard, who`s blowing off some steam, having fun with a pretty girl. Everybody loves it. This guy is Teflon.

TURNER: Can`t touch him right now.

BRAGMAN: He`s in the stratosphere.

TURNER: (INAUDIBLE) right now.

BRAGMAN: In the stratosphere.

TURNER: OK. Let`s talk about this next star. He`s probably Hollywood`s hottest newly available leading man. And of course we`re talking about Johnny Depp, right? He stepped out for the first time as a single guy since splitting with Vanessa Paradis. And the buzz seems to be really positive, right? I mean what exactly is he doing that`s so right since they split up?

BRAGMAN: What he`s doing right is he`s having fun. He`s acting like a single guy. And yet he`s being true to himself. We saw him with his hat and his hair and his kind of unusual outfit that he`s known for, but he went on stage, he jammed with Aerosmith, he went to the after-party at the Pink Taco. He was flirting with the ladies. People are loving that. And he`s close to 55, 60 percent positive. So people are really responding to the single Johnny Depp.

TURNER: Right. Now, quickly, let`s talk about Miley Cyrus, because you say everything that`s going on with her, kind of down right now, right?

BRAGMAN: Well, I think -- she dyed her hair blond, she did an interview where she had to defend her engagement. What I`m sort of feeling is people don`t like her growing up. And that`s what`s fueling her negativity. We like -- we want her to grow up but we want her to grow up slowly.

TURNER: Yes. Yes.

BRAGMAN: And yes, we don`t realize when she was playing a 14-year-old girl she was like an 18-year-old girl.

TURNER: There you go. Let`s let Miley grow up a little bit, shall we, Howard?

BRAGMAN: Let Miley be Miley.

TURNER: All right. Thank you very much, Howard. We appreciate it.

And now the SHOWBIZ lineup. Here`s what`s coming up at the bottom of the house on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

I love "Father of the Bride," it`s an absolute classic, right? One of the best movie remakes ever. Tonight, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT is naming the top five remakes done right. I`m talking about movies like "Father of the Bride" and "Ocean`s Eleven" that were even better the second time around. So which remake do you think should top the list?

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

TURNER: Right now on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, the SHOWBIZ countdown. Remakes done right. George Clooney did it with "Ocean`s Eleven." But what made it work? How do you make a big screen deja vu a masterful moneymaker?

Tonight, the SHOWBIZ countdown. The do-overs that won us over. But which classic double take had us cheering the most the second time around?

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT continues right now.

Welcome back to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. I`m Nischelle Turner.

Tonight, Hollywood do-overs. Is it me or is Hollywood turning out new versions of movies we`ve seen even 20, 30 years ago? It`s like deja vu. Case in point, "Total Recall" starring Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale. And that movie was a big old flop. So why does Hollywood insist on remaking classics? Is it lack of ideas or is Hollywood just chicken when it comes to new stories? The experts tell us, it`s a little bit of both.

Here`s SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter with a look at Hollywood recycled.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KAREEN WYNTER, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): It was supposed to be a hit. Recalling the fans and fortune of its 1990 predecessor.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What do you know about recall?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Stay away from them.

WYNTER: Instead the new "Total Recall" bombed.

BIANCA GOODLOE, ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER AND CONSULTANT: They alienated their core audience.

WYNTER: Bianca Goodloe`s entertainment firm has overseen the financial development of blockbusters like "Harry Potter," "Lara Croft," and "Lord of the Rings." She offers these keys to successful Hollywood recycling.

GOODLOE: Finding a story that`s old enough to be universal, such that the marketplace is conditioned and everyone is familiar with it. Being faithful to what made it classic in the first place. And make it damn good.

WYNTER: Good, Goodloe says, like blockbuster remakes "Ocean`s Eleven" and "The Italian Job."

GOODLOE: Very smartly and shrewdly, I think the studios pulled together a strong ensemble cast that appealed to a broad demographic and they set them in international locations that appeals to global audiences.

GEORGE CLOONEY, ACTOR: I`m not sure this belonged to me.

WYNTER (on camera): While there are many examples of successful remakes, the very idea of dusting off an old title for a new gain sometimes doesn`t sit well with moviegoers or moviemakers.

Is there one film that you would love to breathe new life into?

MARTIN SCORSESE, FILM DIRECTOR: You mean remake? No, not remake. How could you even remake what you did back then? You`re a different person then.

WYNTER: It`s no secret that movie remakes also fuel criticism that Hollywood lacks originality and with even more cinematic do-overs on the horizon why do studios keep cranking them out? Well, as it turns out, there are a few reasons. Starting with fear.

JASON E. SQUIRE, USC, SCHOOL OF CINEMATIC ARTS: Not mentioned much in the press, there really is a fear of your job.

WYNTER (voice-over): Jason Squire is a professor of cinema and business at USC.

SQUIRE: Certainly original ideas much more courageous to try to put forward and if that doesn`t play at the box office, that`s a tough one.

WYNTER: And when things get tough like back-to-back flat liners, "Arthur" and "The Three Stooges" --

GOODLOE: You need to look for cover. It was a classic universal story. It has worked time and again. It should have worked. It wasn`t my fault.

WYNTER: Aside from fear, nostalgia can be a driving force.

SQUIRE: Yes. There are directors, in fact, who have remade their own movies for that reason.

WYNTER: Sometimes new technology motivates an update.

GOODLOE: Like "Planet of the Apes." The CGI was on the vanguard of filmmaking and it was just very well done movie. Can`t say that about "Footloose?"

WYNTER: And finally some of the world`s biggest remakes don`t feel like remakes at all. Movies like "The Tourist."

SQUIRE: A trend has been to acquire the English language rights to a popular movie in a local language. And these are remakes.

WYNTER: Oh, and Martin Scorsese`s Oscar-winning film, "The Departed," based on the 2002 Hong Kong movie "Internal Affairs."

JACK NICHOLSON, ACTOR: I think we could work something out.

WYNTER: With a growing list of Hollywood remakes being worked out and no end in sight, film lovers will decide if they are getting real movie magic or more of the same.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

TURNER: Doesn`t everyone love a good remake, though? And the emphasis on good because when the remake is done right, it`s box office gold. So tonight, it`s a special edition of the SHOWBIZ countdown. Remakes done right. We`re counting down our top five remakes. Are you ready?

Coming in at number five on our countdown, 2005`s "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" with Johnny Depp.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Mr. Wonka?

JOHNNY DEPP, ACTOR: Huh?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Why would Augustus` name already be in the (INAUDIBLE) song? Unless --

DEPP: Improvisation is a part of change. Anyone can do it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

TURNER: You know, that movie was really well done. But the original "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" was released in 1971. It starred Gene Wilder. And at the time, it was considered a box office disappointment. But went on to be a cult classic. And by the way, one of my favorite movies ever. But the Johnny Depp remake was directed by Tim Burton so, you know, need I say more. It grossed $470 million. That is a remake done right for sure.

And joining me here in Hollywood, Paul Dergarabedian, president of the Box Office Division for Hollywood.com, and Nikki Boyer, host of "Daytime" and "No Time" on Yahoo! TV.

OK, guys, I`m going to need you to help me out here.

BOYER: OK.

TURNER: Because admittedly, I don`t usually love remakes. But Paul, I got to ask you, what was the secret to "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory`s" remake success? Was it Tim Burton in his corky filmmaking style or was it Johnny Depp`s acting?

PAUL DERGARABEDIAN, PRESIDENT, HOLLYWOOD.COM BOX OFFICE DIVISION: I think it was both.

TURNER: Yes.

DERGARABEDIAN: And Johnny Depp and Tim Burton together is irresistible. And it lends credibility and a legitimacy to doing a remake like this when a visionary director like Tim Burton gets together with his muse, Johnny Depp, and creates a kind of a re-imagined Willy Wonka --

TURNER: Yes.

DERGARABEDIAN: -- as, you know, as Johnny Depp portrayed him. And I think that really, really worked.

TURNER: Well, let`s go, though, from a movie based in total fantasy to one based on a total real life situation. A wedding. OK?

Coming in at number four on our remakes done right countdown is "Father of the Bride." In 1991, "Father of the Bride" was remade starring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton. Now the original "Father of the Bride" was made in 1950. It starred Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor. So let`s take a look at the clip from that movie.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SPENCER TRACY, ACTOR: All you have to do is take my arm and lean against me and relax. I`ll do the rest.

ELIZABETH TAYLOR, ACTRESS: Oh, you are wonderful.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

TURNER: OK. That`s kind of movie magic for me. I know Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor are tough acts to follow but, you know what, when you watch Steve Martin and his portrayal of a dad having a really hard time letting his little girl go, that gets me every single time.

So Nikki, you know, there were 40 years -- 41 years actually between the making of these two "Father of the Bride" movies. But the theme still worked.

BOYER: Yes.

TURNER: That`s just kind of the classic story line that never gets old, right?

BOYER: Never gets old. They can make that story again 40 years from now and I believe it will be interesting to the group of people that happen to be watching it.

TURNER: Yes.

BOYER: It was so magical to watch the first version of that with Liz Taylor. And there was a deepness and a darkness and a -- like a -- to the movie, you like that`s a description? An ugh, and then Steve Martin brings this whole lighter version of it and the kind of dad that I feel like our generation had.

TURNER: That everybody would want.

BOYER: Absolutely. So I feel like -- I feel like that was my favorite remake ever in movie history.

TURNER: I love that. Let`s move on, though, now to number three. Nikki loves number four. But we move to number three in our countdown. Remember this one?

(MUSIC)

TURNER: You know that`s got your toe tapping, right? That was the original "Footloose" from 1984 which launched the film career of Kevin Bacon and got everybody dancing in the aisles. So I have to admit, you know, when I heard that "Footloose" was going to be remade, I had serious doubts because I loved the original.

BOYER: Me, too.

TURNER: But I want to give credit where credit is due. Watch this.

BOYER: OK.

(MUSIC)

TURNER: What I liked about this, Paul, is that this remake kind of stayed true to the original story. You think that`s why this was a success?

DERGARABEDIAN: I think so but it`s sort of this whole teen angst and sort of being a rebel with or without a cause.

TURNER: Yes.

DERGARABEDIAN: Really worked for audiences back in `84 where, in my house, was on constant rotation on the VHS. And --

TURNER: I love the VHS.

DERGARABEDIAN: We loved that movie and John Lithgow was so great in it and Kevin Bacon, of course. Again, that was an iconic movie, that performance by Kevin Bacon was iconic.

TURNER: Yes.

DERGARABEDIAN: So how do you live up to that? And it did a good job with this new one.

TURNER: Yes. That`s correct.

DERGARABEDIAN: And so sticking with the blueprint sometimes is the best way to go. If you`re going to remake something and totally change it?

TURNER: Yes.

DERGARABEDIAN: You better be a really good director, writer, producer.

TURNER: Exactly. Exactly.

DERGARABEDIAN: To make that work.

TURNER: And do it well. All right.

DERGARABEDIAN: Yes.

TURNER: We`ve got three down. We got two to go. What will come in at number one on our SHOWBIZ countdown of remakes done right? Don`t go anywhere. You guys don`t go anywhere. You guys don`t go anywhere. We don`t want you to miss our pick for the top spot.

Now she jumps out of cars, she leaps from disaster. She`s the woman who takes the hits for some of your favorite leading ladies.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LUCI ROMBERG, HOLLYWOOD STUNTWOMAN: I doubled Abigail Breslin on "Zombieland." I`ve doubled Anna Paquin just for one episode on "True Blood." Hayden Panettiere on "Heroes."

(END VIDEO CLIP)

TURNER: Tonight SHOWBIZ TONIGHT gets on-set secrets of a true action star. What`s it like really putting yourself in danger just to make a star look good on screen? A stunt woman`s secrets from the set coming up.

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

TURNER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s counting down the top five remakes done right. Here`s where we are so far. At number five 2005`s "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" starring Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton who really put his stamp on this remake.

Coming in at number four, 1991`s "Father of the Bride." Who could resist Steve Martin as the heartbroken father giving away his daughter.

And our number three movie, "Footloose." The 2011 remake of the 1984 original made a believer out of me that remakes can be done right.

And that brings us now to number two on our remakes done right countdown. At number two, "Casino Royale." The 2006 remake starring Daniel Craig as the new James Bond was a huge hit at the box office. It brought in $588 million.

All right, back with me now, Paul Dergarabedian, president of the Box Office Division for Hollywood.com, and Nikki Hoyer, host of "Daytime and No Time" on Yahoo! TV.

So Nikki, you know, the original "Casino Royale" starred Peter Sellers. That was in 1967.

BOYER: Right.

TURNER: Peter Sellers and Ursula Anders. It was a spoof.

BOYER: Right.

TURNER: Of James Bond-type of movie but it certainly didn`t pack the same punch as the remake. I`m wondering why this remake was such a big hit. I`m thinking maybe Daniel Craig.

BOYER: I`m going to go ahead -- I`m going to go out on a limb and say yes. I was not -- when I went to go see this in theaters, I was not a fan of James Bond type movies. I don`t even know -- I think I was covering it for a job. And I thought, all right, I`m going to go see it. And I kind of fell in love with it.

I believe there`s a built-in audience for any type of a James Bond remake and I also believe there are new women in the audience that will go with their boyfriends, go with their husbands.

TURNER: Yes.

BOYER: And then become a fan. And now I would actually go -- I`m a fan now of Daniel Craig because of this movie "Casino Royale."

TURNER: He`s a good James Bond. Yes, he is.

And now the moment we`ve all been waiting for. Kind of feel like I need a drum roll here. At number one, on this SHOWBIZ countdown of remakes done right is, "Ocean`s Eleven." Yes, I know. You`re thinking how could we pick the 2001 remake with George Clooney and Brad Pitt over the 1960 original with the Rat Pack? But, look. It really all just came down to this.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BRAD PITT, ACTOR: This town your luck can change just that quickly.

ANDY GARCIA, ACTOR: Find out how much money we have down there.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Sure.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

TURNER: I`m a sucker for George Clooney and Brad Pitt. What can I say? You know what? This remake was more fun than the first. And that first heist, that high scene, one of the best robbery sequences of all time.

So, Paul, I know the `60s version had Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

DERGARABEDIAN: Yes.

TURNER: But the 2009 version is George Clooney and Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts. So was it the star power that made the difference in this remake?

DERGARABEDIAN: Yes. It was star power. When you saw the lineup. I mean, first of all, big shoes to fill with the Rat Pack and the original, right? So how do you do that kind of one upsmanship that you have to do in a remake to get people`s attention? Put every conceivable star in the movie and then just tell everybody about it and sprinkling on top of Steven Soderbergh.

TURNER: Right.

DERGARABEDIAN: Great director. Great street cred. This is a guy who`s a terrific filmmaker.

TURNER: Yes.

DERGARABEDIAN: And the whole package just totally worked.

TURNER: It did. It definitely worked.

Thank you guys very much. This is so much fun. We appreciate you coming in today.

BOYER: I love being here.

DERGARABEDIAN: Thank you.

TURNER: Lots of fun.

So tonight, she is the woman who takes the hits for the most famous women in TV and film.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ROMBERG: I double Abigail Breslin on "Zombieland." I doubled Anna Paquin just for one episode on "True Blood." Hayden Panettiere on "Heroes."

(END VIDEO CLIP)

TURNER: SHOWBIZ TONIGHT goes on one on with the stunt double dynamo who takes a licking and keeps on ticking. The stuntwoman to the stars reveals secrets from the set next.

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

TURNER: Tonight, a SHOWBIZ Special Report. The surprising secrets of Hollywood`s top stuntwoman. She flips, she kicks, she leaps from tall buildings in a single bound? We`re taking you behind the scenes with legendary stuntwoman Luci Romberg who does all that to keep Hollywood`s A- list safe and sound.

Here`s SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter with the secrets of a superstar stuntwoman.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

WYNTER (voice-over): High-flying jumps. Jaw-dropping flips. And gravity defying moves. It`s no wonder that world champion free runner Luci Romberg is one of Hollywood`s most sought after stuntwomen. And here at the Tempest Free Running Academy in Los Angeles, Romberg is spilling her secrets on stunting to SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

ROMBERG: It is a great job. I love it. I love what I do.

WYNTER: And Hollywood loves her. Romberg`s performed stunts in more than 40 TV shows and movies like bar brawling in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," escaping disaster in "The Green Lantern," and being thrown from a moving car in "Zombieland."

(On camera): How do you make these stunts look so real on film?

ROMBERG: You know, stunt people, you know, in my mind, they`re professional athletes. So, you know, you need to be well rounded. The biggest secret is keeping your body healthy because your body is your engine. This is what makes you money. And so, you know, taking care of yourself, you know, getting massages, going to the chiropractor.

WYNTER: Because it is so grueling on those sets and making it look real.

ROMBERG: Exactly. I mean, you know, stunts are calculated risk. You know, they go to great measures to make sure that it`s safe but, you know, we are still abusing your body. You`re still hitting the ground hard, you`re still falling down a real set of stairs. The better conditioned you are in the less likely you are to get injured.

WYNTER: And these are the things that the stars don`t want to do? Why do you jump in and say, hey, I`ll be the one for that?

ROMBERG: You know, the stars aren`t allowed to do this stuff. You know, if they get injured, production is out, you know, however many weeks, however many millions of dollars, you know, that the star is not available to work because they are injured.

WYNTER: And some big named actresses that you`ve also worked with on film.

ROMBERG: I double Abigail Breslin on "Zombieland." I doubled Anna Paquin just for one episode on "True Blood." Hayden Panettiere on "Heroes." I got to double Mary Lou Rettin, which was really cook. She was an Olympic champion.

WYNTER: What was that like working on the set of "Indiana Jones"?

ROMBERG: It was so much fun. I was in the scene with the college kids and "The Greasers" and they all come together and fight. I was lucky I got to jump on the back of one of the bad guys and he runs out of the diner and flips me on his back. So it was really cool getting to work with, you know, Steven Spielberg.

WYNTER: You worked on a stunt on "Indiana Jones." We want you to re- create the stunt for us right now.

ROMBERG: OK. That was mean.

WYNTER (voice-over): Along with performing students, Luci says she also trains many of Hollywood`s hottest starlets to do action scenes, including Jennifer Lawrence for the thriller "Hunger Games." But today it`s my turn and Luci is showing me the secrets to what she calls the safety vault.

ROMBERG: You`re going to run up, put your left hand down, your right foot up and you`re going to push through. Yes, nice.

WYNTER: Thanks, Luci but don`t expect to see me sliding over any car hoods any time soon.

But don`t let her fearless demeanor fool you. Despite her experience, Luci says she still gets nervous before the camera rolls.

(On camera): Do you ever get scared?

ROMBERG: Oh, yes, of course.

WYNTER: And you have the butterflies going?

ROMBERG: Yes, I get the butterflies even with the simplest stunt. Because you know, you`re there are to do a good job, like, you know, you hold yourself to a high standard. And yes, you want to make everybody look good. You want to -- you know, you want to get rehired for the next gig.

WYNTER (voice-over): And as those gigs in Hollywood keep coming, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT can tell you that this stuntwoman`s career will continue to soar.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

TURNER: That was so cool. That was SHOWBIZ TONIGHT`s Kareen Wynter flipping out.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT goes one on one with Jennifer Garner. The superstar mom of three reveals to SHOWBIZ why she can`t stop being a helicopter mom.

This is SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

TURNER: Now for SHOWBIZ true confessions. Jennifer Garner may have played the mom of a 10-year-old child that appears on her doorstep in "The Odd Life of Timothy Green." But in real life she`s the mother of three with husband Ben Affleck. And yes, she admits to being one of those moms who hovers. But after having her third child this year, she tells us she`s learned to relax.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

JENNIFER GARNER, ACTRESS: I catch myself and I say back off, but it`s hard. That`s just the time that we`re in now. We`re all so focused on our kids. I`m sure it`s too much. I mean, I think back and I realized my parents gave me a lot of space to become who I was and to be quirky and they didn`t really worry about it too much.

And as Cindy Green is so wrapped up in if her child -- how he`s going to be perceived. If he`s going -- in order for him to be happy he has to be perceived as normal and will he -- will he be all right if he doesn`t have every possible -- every possible thing in his backpack to take to school on his first day.

I mean, this movie is all about that. It`s all about familial love and it`s all about just the tangled web of a family, but that in the end, that`s what you have. So to let go of judgment, to love yourself and for who you are. I mean, when you are a first-time mom, that`s where you are. You can`t help it. You really do walk around with five different kinds of diaper cream in your bag and 50 diapers and seven changes of clothes.

And, OK, that`s not going to kill anybody. That`s fine. Now with my third, I toss a diaper in my purse and I`m good to go. I can figure the rest out as I go along.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You`ve got this down to a science.

GARNER: You know, and it`s not that. You just realize that none of it is that important. You know? If the clothes are a little bit dirty, the kid is going to be all right.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

TURNER: I love that attitude. And she does it all. I love that, too.
