Aired December 26, 2012 - 22:00   ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

A.J. HAMMER, HOST: Tonight, a special top 10 SHOWBIZ Countdown of the year`s most explosive reality shows that have us asking "Click It or Kick It?" "Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo," "Dancing with the Stars." Which show will get the boot or live on in reality infamy? It`s a special SHOWBIZ Countdown, "Click It or Kick It."

Hello, I`m A.J. Hammer. Thank you for watching. We`re going to find out which shows are battling it out for No. 1 on the "Click It or Kick It" countdown coming up in just a bit. But right, it`s our first countdown of the night, the "Biggest Bombshell Breakups" of the year.

You could barely take a breath this year without hearing about yet another Hollywood split. And these were some of the most solid star couples ever. So what happened?

Let`s kick off the SHOWBIZ Countdown of the "Biggest Bombshell Breakups" with No. 5. It`s Heidi Klum and Seal.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER (voice-over): It`s a virus that`s wiped out countless Hollywood marriages. It`s the seven-year curse.

Some of its famous victims: Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, announcing their divorce after seven years of marriage. Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher announcing their split a few months shy of their seven-year anniversary.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries splitting after 72 days. OK, it`s not quite seven years, but there`s a seven in the number.

Well, the unlucky seven virus claimed another huge victim in 2012, Heidi Klum and Seal, who announced their split in January, yes, in their seventh year of marriage. Things got extra nasty when it came out that Heidi Klum had started dating the family`s bodyguard, Martin Kristen. An angry Seal accused Heidi of deciding to, quote, "fornicate with the help."

HEIDI KLUM, MODEL: He has a very unique choice of words.

HAMMER: On Katie Couric`s talk show, "Katie," Klum took issue with Seal`s comments, and she raved about her new boyfriend.

KLUM: I trust him with my children`s life. He`s a great man, you know.

HAMMER: Heidi Klum and Seal, another Hollywood super couple to go from gushing...

SEAL, SINGER: She`s the most important thing in my life.

HAMMER: ... to nothing in just seven years.

From the moment these two stars got together, it seemed like every other celebrity mag featured an article about how these two love birds made their marriage work. And in their interviews, the two gushed about their marriage quite often.

PIERS MORGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Do you feel lucky to have met Seal?

KLUM: Of course.

HAMMER: We mean really often.

SEAL: As far as we are concerned, we are best friends first, lovers, and husband and wife.

HAMMER: I mean a lot.

MORGAN: And how have you managed to sustain such a happy relationship?

KLUM: I just think because we love each other.

ROBI LUDWIG, PSYCHOTHERAPIST: Sometimes there are couples that like to present a certain image. But what goes on behind closed doors is something that`s really very different.

HAMMER: Psychotherapist Robi Ludwig tells SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Heidi and Seal`s lovey-dovey public image may have been hiding problems we didn`t see.

LUDWIG: You have to always question whether somebody who is always talking about how in love they are and gushing about their romance and even all over each other publicly, whether that really reflects what`s going on between two people privately. It isn`t always the case.

KLUM: People always saw us, like, laughing and smiling. And, you know, but it`s not always like that.

HAMMER: On "Katie" in September, Klum tried to explain what went wrong with Seal.

KLUM: It just didn`t work. Like I tried my hardest. You know, he tried his hardest.

HAMMER: Heidi Klum and Seal, another sad reminder that no Hollywood couple, no matter how happy they may seem, may ever be fully immune to the seven-year curse.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

HAMMER: So here`s the dilemma, then. After being so open about their union, should they have been so public about their split?

Joining me in New York, Terrence Jenkins, co-host of E! News. Also, in New York, Jenny Hutt, host of the Sirius XM radio show, "Just Jenny."

Seal and Heidi, as we all know, were notorious for putting their relationship out there in music videos. They renewed their vows every year.

JENNY HUTT, HOST, SIRIUS XM`S "JUST JENNY": Yes.

HAMMER: It was just so saccharin sweet and so rare in Hollywood. So, Terrence, I`ll start with you. I imagine that you`ve got to agree that it was one of the most shocking splits of the year.

TERRENCE JENKINS, CO-HOST, E! NEWS: It was definitely shocking, you know. They were one of everybody`s favorite couples. The Halloween parties were always a big hit. Everybody loved them. And when they broke up, I think it kind of shocked everybody.

HAMMER: And I think they created a problem for themselves, because they were so forward about their successful marriage, you know, it really presented this big dilemma when things finally came to an end. Do they talk about it, don`t they talk about it?

And Seal was the one who was the first to speak out. He spoke to Today F.M. in Australia, and he said he owed the public an explanation. Let`s listen.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SEAL: You know, when you publicize your marriage as much as our marriage was publicized, when you renew wedding vows, when you do all of those things, what you are saying to people is you are giving them a picture of an ideal relationship, a relationship that people aspire towards. And so when it goes south, you can`t, all of a sudden, take -- you know, take the philosophy of a Celestine monk and decide to go for a vow of silence. It doesn`t really work like that.

It works, you know, I respect my wife when she said to not talk about that. I felt that people at least deserved some kind of explanation why their kind of picture of the ideal wasn`t what they thought it was.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Thank you, Seal. I thought that was so refreshing. I think he had a great point. You can`t have it both ways.

Jenny, do you agree?

HUTT: Listen.

HAMMER: Heidi and Seal kind of owed the public an explanation because of what an open book they`d always been?

HUTT: Listen, I have to break it down first at the beginning, which is this, A.J. I think there is no ideal relationship. And I think the fact that they put it out there as this relationship of perfection right there was a tell that maybe things weren`t going to work out forever after. That`s just -- a long-term relationship that`s real and engaging can never be perfect.

Then I think do they owe it to tell us everything about the messy stuff just because they talked about some of the pretty stuff? I don`t know. I kind of think somewhere they can -- they can divulge what they`re comfortable with.

HAMMER: Well, yes. I mean, you don`t have to do all the nitty-gritty and the really ugly stuff. And by the way, Jenny, may I point out you just look lovely today?

HUTT: I do? Thank you so much.

JENKINS: You didn`t tell me I look lovely, man.

HAMMER: Actually, you look very handsome.

Let me move on right now to our big No. 4 on the "Breakup Bombshells" countdown. I don`t even know why I`m going there right now.

But let`s talk Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. They were a lovely couple.

HUTT: Yes.

HAMMER: They always looked lovely together, as they do right here. Their breakup was revealed this past year, of course. Now, when they got married back in `05, of course, there were a lot of naysayers out there. People doubted, mainly because of the age difference, that this thing was going to last.

You know, Demi was 43, Ashton 27 at the time. Then, as we all remember, Demi became known as the ultimate cougar. In fact, I think the term was born right about then.

HUTT: Yes.

HAMMER: We really thought that they had proven critics of their 16-year age gap wrong, Terrence. Is that why their split came as such a surprise?

JENKINS: You know, for me it wasn`t a surprise. You know, in the beginning a lot of people didn`t think it was going to work. I hoped that it worked. They seemed really happy when they were together.

But you know, with that age difference and Ashton just starting off in the height of his career, not sure always if that level of maturity in the beginning was able to translate to, you know, a long successful relationship.

HAMMER: Yes. I think a lot of guys were like, are you insane, Ashton? Really? You`re going to settle down right now? I actually -- I was never cynical about it, but I was also realistic about it.

JENKINS: Exactly.

HAMMER: We know that Ashton started dating his "That `70s Show" co-star, Mila Kunis.

HUTT: Yes.

HAMMER: She`s 20 years younger than Demi.

Now Jenny, I`ve got to believe the breakup of Demi and Ashton had cougars up in arms across -- across the nation.

HUTT: Well, look, as a 42-year-old woman, if my husband, who I`ve been with for 17 years, if he then was with someone who was half my age, yes, I`d be really, really upset and definitely jealous. I mean, to be young and beautiful like Mila Kunis and to have my husband with -- ooh, ouch, ick.

HAMMER: Yes. Your husband would be insane.

HUTT: Thanks, A.J.

HAMMER: Let`s move on right now to our No. 3 "Big Bombshell Breakup" in our countdown tonight, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis. These guys were together for an astonishing 14 years, huge numbers in Hollywood.

By all accounts, this couple, you know, who were always very elusive, were one of the happiest couples in Hollywood. They kept their family life far from Hollywood. They lived in France. Given that they went out of way to stay private to keep their lives with their two kids balanced, this breakup really did blindsided everyone, didn`t it, Terrence?

JENKINS: Absolutely. But I mean, this just goes to show you Hollywood is a tough place to have a relationship last. You have examples of couples that are all the way out there like Seal and Heidi. And then, you have Johnny Depp and you know, it`s just tough to make it work, even if you have a lot of privacy like they had.

HAMMER: Yes. It`s brutal in any case. But you know, we always talk about the Hollywood spotlight making it that much more difficult.

Well, Heidi and Seal, Ashton and Demi, Johnny and Vanessa, such huge breakups, obviously. But not the two top breakups this year according to us.

Who occupies the top spots in our SHOWBIZ Countdown of "Biggest Bombshell Breakups"? Terrence, Jenny, keep looking pretty. Stay right where you are. The top two revealed next.

And in another SHOWBIZ Countdown tonight, reality TV shows certainly hit a fever pitch this year, thanks to stars like Honey Boo-Boo Child.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ALANA THOMPSON, REALITY TV STAR: I`m going to do the Rhinestone Pageant. I`m going to get ready. Who likes my glasses? Who likes my glasses?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I love your glasses, Honey Boo-Boo. Also, Sugar Bear, Uncle Poodle. Great entertainment this year, but have we had enough? Are people hoping for the next season to be "There Goes Honey Boo-Boo"?

And 15 seasons of "Dancing with the Stars." Blisters, challenges, the mirror ball trophy. Now that the all-star season`s behind us, should it be the last show ever? Which reality hit will top the SHOWBIZ Countdown, "Click It or Kick It"?

This is SBT, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, on HLN.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: The SHOWBIZ Countdown, "Big Bombshell Breakups" continues now. Now, let me get you up to speed.

At No. 5, the notoriously lovey-dovey Heidi Klum and Seal split up after seven years of marriage.

At No. 4, Demi and Ashton`s cougarific union falls apart, breaking cougar hearts across the country.

At No. 3, the couple famous for staying out of the spotlight, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis.

And now it`s time to reveal our No. 2 on the SHOWBIZ Countdown of "Big Bombshell Breakups," Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

Katie filed for divorce after five years of marriage, stunning the world and Tom himself.

E! News host, Terrence Jenkins and Sirius XM`s Jenny Hutt back with me now.

So guys, a lot of people thought that Katie really pulled off "Mission: Impossible" this past summer. She seemed to blindside Tom. She filed for divorce papers in late July. And by the end of August, Tom settled the divorce. Easily one of the quickest divorces I`ve ever seen in Hollywood. Their dilemma was, of course, what about Suri, their 6-year-old daughter?

Terrence, was this one a bombshell because it was just such a smooth split?

JENKINS: I think that was the most surprising element of it all is how fast the split took place. Things seemed to be handled really, you know, in a mature manner. So we`re all excited about that.

But when he jumped on the couch, when he jumped on Oprah`s couch, a little piece of me wanted it to work for Tom and Katie.

HAMMER: Yes.

JENKINS: Unfortunately, it was a mission so impossible even for Ethan Hawke.

HAMMER: Yes, exactly. I never had a problem with the couch jumping thing.

But Jenny, it was so methodical.

HUTT: Yes.

HAMMER: And it really was almost like mission -- I mean, you think about it, how precise this divorce was.

HUTT: Well, I kind of feel like that`s how precise the marriage was. And I think in that way that`s where it`s not that big a shock. I mean, it`s upsetting because like you guys I wanted it to work, too.

HAMMER: Yes.

HUTT: It had some fairy tale feeling for it and about it. But I don`t know, I think a lot of us felt like it was a little bit maybe not an actual real marriage.

HAMMER: A lot of people said that. Not everybody felt that way. But if they`re not No. 1, who could it be?

Time now to reveal who`s No. 1 on our SHOWBIZ Countdown of "Big Bombshell Breakups."

And for us, it`s Hollywood veterans Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman. These guys were married for 30 years when they announced their split in the fall. Reports say they`re going to remain friends.

But Terrence, this was not only a bombshell in my mind. It was just plain sad to see.

JENKINS: Oh my goodness. When I got the E! News e-mail real early that morning that they were breaking up, and I have to admit, I jumped out of my bed. And it was super shocking. I`m a big fan of "Cheers," I`m a big fan of "Twins." I can`t believe one of my favorite couples broke up, especially after 30 years. At 30 years, I just felt like they should have rode it out.

HUTT: Yes.

HAMMER: Yes. Jenny, very quickly, yes or no, did we get it right?

HUTT: You got it right, totally. Totally shocking. And I figured they`d last forever.

HAMMER: Oh, well. Sad. Sad. Sad. I`m still sad about it talking about it right now.

JENKINS: Me, too.

HAMMER: All right. Terrence, Jenny, thank you both so much.

What a year it`s been for reality television. But was the drama on "The Basketball Wives" too heated for TV?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Shut up.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: What did I say?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No, you shut the (EXPLETIVE DELETED) up.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Classy. The knock-down, drag-out fights on "The Basketball Wives" had a lot of people crying foul. But should the series stay or go?

And Whitney Houston`s family gets real the same year we lost Whitney. Do we really need the show to go on? And which show will outdo the other in our top ten SHOWBIZ Countdown of reality shows that have us asking, "Click It or Kick It?"

This is SBT, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, on HLN.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Could it be that you need someone just as much as Jonah does?

MEG RYAN, ACTRESS: Yes.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: That is No. 5, as we kick off our countdown tonight of our favorite romantic comedies and of course "Sleepless in Seattle," starring the great Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. And Meg and Tom teamed up again for our No. 4 pick.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HANKS: Don`t cry, shop girl. Don`t cry.

RYAN: I wanted it to be you. I wanted it to be you so badly.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: So badly. "You`ve Got Mail." I still love watching that movie.

It was a hot debate in the SHOWBIZ TONIGHT newsroom as we had to pick our top five "Favorite Romantic Comedies." There are, of course, some classics that simply can`t be touched. But for our picks we kept it pretty contemporary.

And that brings us to No. 3 in the SHOWBIZ Countdown. It`s "Love Actually."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ALAN RICKMAN, ACTOR: Maybe the time has come to do something about it.

LAURA LINNEY, ACTRESS: Like what?

RICKMAN: Invite him out for a drink and then, after about 20 minutes casually drop into the conversation the fact that you`d like to marry him and have lots of sex and babies.

LINNEY: Do you know that?

RICKMAN: Yes. And so does Carl.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. So many great love stories wrapped up in one film. But why does this one seem to stay with us?

Joining me from Hollywood, Tara McNamara, who is a film columnist with Fandango.com.

So Tara, I`ve got to know from your perspective, why do you think "Love Actually" still connects with so many people?

TARA MCNAMARA, FILM COLUMNIST, FANDANGO.COM: Well, I think that it plays to the female fantasies of love as well as the male fantasies of love, all in one really hilarious, well-written, well-acted movie.

I think that the thing about "Love Actually" that`s so great is you have -- you have the characters like Colin, the English guy who can`t get a girlfriend in England, so he goes to America thinking that with his English accent he`ll get the girl. And he does get the girl. He gets lots of girls. And it actually plays out just like he wanted it to.

And you know, and then you`ve got the little boy who falls in love with a cute 10-year-old girl. And you`ve got the guy who won`t break the bro code to, you know, share his feelings with the girl he really loves. So you have all these great stories that people can kind of relate to and know.

HAMMER: We`ve got something for everyone in there. All right, coming in at No. 2 in our SHOWBIZ Countdown of our top five "Favorite Romantic Comedies," Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in the classic "The Notebook."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

RACHEL MCADAMS, ACTRESS: I`m a bird!

RYAN GOSLING, ACTOR: Stop it. You`re a bird.

MCADAMS: Now say you`re a bird, too.

GOSLING: If you`re a bird, I`m a bird.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: OK. Maybe this is more of a quote/unquote "chick flick," but I love this film, too. So many memorable lines from the movie, as well, including, "We`re going to have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you."

I don`t think audiences will ever get enough of this movie, Tara. Ryan took this role very seriously, as well, didn`t he?

MCNAMARA: Yes. In fact, he worked very hard for it. He actually moved to Charleston, South Carolina, before filming. He rode the Ashley River, rode it for two months every day, built furniture every day to prepare for the role of Noah. In fact, the kitchen table that you see in the movie was made by Ryan Gosling.

HAMMER: True method acting. Nice going, Ryan.

Well, that leaves us at No. 1 on our SHOWBIZ Countdown of our top five "Favorite Romantic Comedies." What could it be? It can be "When Harry Met Sally," starring Billy Crystal and the brilliant Meg Ryan. Who else but Meg could pull off this scene?

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

RYAN: Most women at one time or another have faked it.

BILLY CRYSTAL, ACTOR/COMEDIAN: You don`t think that I could tell the difference?

RYAN: No.

CRYSTAL: Get out of here.

RYAN: Oh. Oh, ah, ah, oh, oh, yes, yes, yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes! Oh, oh, oh, oh, God. Oh.

ESTELLE REINER, ACTRESS: I`ll have what she`s having.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: And the scene lives on in infamy.

Tara, did we get our No. 1 right?

MCNAMARA: Absolutely. We all want what Meg Ryan is having.

You know, I think that the great thing is when this movie came out, men learned stuff they didn`t know about women like from that scene, and women learned stuff about men because it`s written from both perspectives. You know, and also I just think that we want someone to love us for whom we really are. And that`s what "When Harry Met Sally" delivers.

HAMMER: And it`s great fun to watch.

And Tara, I thank you very much for being here.

HAMMER: Well, it has been a banner year for reality TV, and now that the year`s almost through, I`ve got a special top ten SHOWBIZ Countdown of reality shows that had us asking, "Click It or Kick It?" Like the return of "The Bachelorette."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Emily -- will you marry me?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: One of the longest-running reality shows there, but is it time for the show to hand out its final rose?

"Dancing with the Stars," another fan favorite. But now that the all-star season is over, should the show hang up its dancing shoes?

Which legendary reality show will top our SHOWBIZ Countdown, "Click It or Kick It?"

This is SBT, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT, on HLN.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: Right now, on the SHOWBIZ Countdown, the top ten reality shows of 2012 that have us asking, "Click It or Kick It?"

"Dancing with the Stars" is one of the most popular reality shows on TV, but after the all-star season blowout, should we keep clicking it or kick it to the curb?

We also saw the worst of reality TV this year, like "Jersey Shore" spinoff "Snooki and JWOWW." Was it so bad it was good? Should it be brought back? And who will top out top 10 count down on SHOWBIZ TONIGHT click it or kick it.

SHOWBIZ TONIGHT continues right now.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

HAMMER: Hello and thanks for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer, welcome back to this special edition of SHOWBIZ TONIGHT.

And tonight, we`re counting down the top ten reality shows this year that made us ask, "Click It or Kick It?" The competitions, the clashes, the real life breakdowns, breakups and make-ups that have kept us on the edge of our seats. Just wait until you see who made our top ten list.

And coming in at number 10, "The Bachelorette". Now, you know the routine by now, right? We wait to see who`s going to get that rose and if that last man standing will actually put a ring on.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I want you to know, that what I`m about to ask you aren`t just empty words where it`s a few weeks, a few months or a few years. What I want to ask you is for everything. Emily, will you marry me?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Brings a tear to your eye, doesn`t it? Certainly a beautiful proposal there. But with "The Bachelorette`s" new couple failure rates so high, and the happily ever after so low, why is it the fans are still holding out hope?

I want to bring in entertainment host Jenn Hobby. She is in Atlanta. From Hollywood tonight, Hyla, the host of "Daily Buzz" on celebuzz.com.

Great having you both here. And you guys know, we almost always know how it`s going to end every season. There is no suspense. They rarely find true love.

Jenn, off to you first. Is it simply time to give "The Bachelorette` series the old heave-ho? Shall we kick it?

JEN HOBBY, ENTERTAINMENT HOST: Absolutely not, A.J. I love the show. I am one of those fans, and it`s every girl`s dream to be able to choose from this menu of men laid out before you at the beginning of the season. So, click through "The Bachelorette." And it doesn`t matter that the relationships don`t work out. We love to see who she`s going pick and the romantic music, that really helps you get into it, doesn`t it?

HAMMER: Yes. It almost puts you to sleep too, sometimes. But no, I appreciate the romanticism of it all. And the truth is we know the contestants are going to make it interesting. They`re going to bring the drama on the show. That obviously can make for some great TV. But for a lot of them the drama they bring could actually be their way of finding a more permanent place in the world of reality TV.

Hyla, for you, is that reason enough to tune in?

HYLA, HOST, "DAILY BUZZ": Yes, absolutely. This is a click, maybe a different reason than Jenn. First of all, her choice of words, "menu" -- men are not meat. I take offense to that. Number two, you know, I love watching it because Chris Harrison is like the madam of reality television passing out these overnight suites to all these people. I love watching that.

And you talk about -- the ABC has done a good job of making "The Bachelor" a tabloid picture. It wasn`t like that at the beginning, then you have like producers hooking up with some people and they were on the cover of the magazines. This is an absolute keep it show.

HAMMER: OK, got it. Click it for both you. And Jenn, how dare you objectify men like that?

Let`s move on to number nine on our SHOWBIZ Countdown, "Click It or Kick It?"

Bristol Palin may have stumbled into a career in reality TV, you know, from the family`s TLC Alaska reality show to a two-time appearance on "Dancing with the Stars", followed up, of course, with her own lifetime reality show called "Life is a Trip."

Now, Lifetime touted that series as a way to get up close and personal with Bristol as she finds her way in life as a young single mom. Let`s look at a bit of that.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I want to make sure that it`s like consistent. It`s weird, let`s see if he picks up. I`ll guarantee that he doesn`t, or his girlfriend picks up.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Your call has been forwarded. The mail box is full.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: OK, I`m thinking a lot of people obviously clicked it out of curiosity because there`s been so much Palin mania out there for the past few years. But right away the fans turned away from the show. Jenn, were you shocked that they didn`t want to see more Bristol?

HOBBY: No, I`m not really so shocked. I say kick it on this one. She`s just kind of dull. I mean, I don`t mean to insult her, and maybe being dull as a young single mom is a good thing in her life and for her son, but for reality TV, I just think it is boring.

HAMMER: Yes. I guess the question comes down to, if she were not a Palin, what would the interest factor be in just her, as we just saw her in that last scene? But when you think about it, at just 21 years old, she already does have a pretty amazing life story. However, as we said, the show`s already been canceled.

Hyla, did Lifetime make the right decision to kick it?

HYLA: Well, here`s a thing. What else are the Palins going to do? Sarah left the governorship. She left Alaska so they could become famous. Bristol is now a full-time reality star. You got to put her like a Lauren Conrad situation. I would feel bad, she has nothing else to do in her life. Click it just so save the family.

HAMMER: Well, sadly for them, not for this show, it`s not going to happen, already done.

Next, the controversial "Basketball Wives" reality series, coming in at number eight. You know the buzz. Critics and fans outraged over the violent women-on-women clashes on the show.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: She`s being immature.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You were the one talk about we was cool.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I`m so fine with you, I don`t got an issue with you. You`ve got the issue with me. I`m so over it.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: What did you hear me say about it?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Pretty much hell-signing, everything that Evelyn says.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: All you want is like her follower.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Everything that comes of the of her mouth is a lie or made up. Or this person told me this or the internet. Get out of here.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: What did I say?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No, you shut the (EXPLETIVE DELETED) up.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You`re lucky, oh, you`re lucky, you`re about to get it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: You know, I mean, every time that comes on, I just don`t know what to say. Everybody says that, really, that right there is everything that`s wrong with reality TV. And the matchups like that sparks this major protest. People are boycotting the show, boycotting the network, demanding big changes from all of reality TV. These are fans who have just had enough of this.

But Jenn, you have the fistfights, the verbal matchups, I mean, is it that worth reality TV has become these days? Do you agree with the outrage calling to kick this series off the air?

HOBBY: Listen, I don`t want to be on TV promoting violence or anything like that in real life, but when you`re watching reality shows, drama is what we want. And you know, I mean Jerry Springer learned it a long time ago, fights on TV keep people watching. So I think they have actually got something here and I say click it. I`m sorry, but it`s what makes reality TV a guilty pleasure.

HAMMER: Don`t people feel ashamed when they`re so amused by what they`re watching? I mean, I sit here and I`m laughing at this. And the women, finally, caught on and they started to speak out saying they were ashamed of their own behavior on the show. And they promised changed.

But, Hyla, is that enough to give it another shot or should we kick it?

HYLA: No, you got to kick this. This is junk. This is garbage. You can have good reality television. You know, "Bachelorette", we talked about that. "The Bachelorette" is good reality TV. OK, I used the word term kind loosely here. But for the arena in which we are talking about, it is good reality -- you don`t need a bunch of women just throwing punches at each other and fighting with each other. I understand, it is a cheap way to get ratings. I feel they can put another group of women, African- American women who are doing like really good things, also apply some drama, that doesn`t make them look like, you know, a bunch of idiots.

HAMMER: I don`t know. People really seems to be drawn to it. And I can see from s producer`s standpoint and from the network`s standpoint. It`s hard to resist that easy dollar and easy ratings, but hopefully they will continue to evolve. Let`s at least ask for that.

So, Hyla, Jenn, stay with me. We still got our top seven reality shows to click or kick, like "Jersey Shore`s" spinoff, "Snooki & JWOWW."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: By the way, I`m pregnant.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You`re pregnant?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Yes. That`s how we all reacted. The show may be Gym Tan awful to a lot of people, but did the fans want to see more of Snooki as a mom?

And Whitney Houston`s family stepped out on their own this year, but will you always love their reality show? Could the Houston`s tops Snooki in the top 10 SHOWBIZ Countdown of reality shows that have us asking, "Click It or Kick It?"

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Check out.

CROWD: Chest out, chest out. Thumbs up. Thumbs up. Chest out.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I actually done that. That is ABC`s "The Glass House" that comes in at number seven in the SHOWBIZ Countdown, the top ten shows that have us asking "Click It or Kick It?" Series debut back in June touching off a nasty legal battle between ABC and CBS, who claim that the series was too much like it`s hit reality competition, "Big Brother."

Welcome back to the special edition of SHOWBIZ TONIGHT. And tonight, we`re counting down the top ten reality shows this year that made us ask should we "Click It or Kick It?" Bringing you the best and the worst reality TV had to offer.

We`re at number six on the SHOWBIZ Countdown with the ever popular reality TV duo of Snooki and JWOWW, who temporarily gave up life on the "Jersey Shore" for luxury apartment life in Jersey City. And count on Snooki though, who is keep you guessing. She just stunned her "Jersey Shore" pals and fans everywhere revealing news of her pregnancy on the show.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You guys deserve time and Nicole looks like a bag of cheek and bones. I have never seen Nicole this type of nervous.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Thank you. It`s my cake. I love it.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We have to see the top on it.

(INAUDIBLE)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: By the way, I`m pregnant.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Holy -- what?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You`re pregnant?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Oh, a classic TV moment that will live in infamy. Snooki, a mom. Who would ever thought we would see the day.

I want to bring back entertainment journalist, Jenn Hobby. Hyla is the host of the "Daily Buzz" on celebbuzz.com.

Look guys, Snooki has involved, do we have to give her that? We saw the changes take place in her life in the beginning of this spinoff series.

Hyla, do we really want to see Snooki as a mom in this next season. Click it or kick it?

HYLA: Click it, man. I love meatballs. I love me some Snooki. I want to see what kind of mom she is. That is so fascinating. It is natural evolution. The "Jersey Shore" is over with, we`re done with that show. We want to see -- you know, she`s going to be a star coming out of this. This is great for her to continue this. What kind of mom is Snooki? This is amazing television.

HAMMER: OK. We`ll see what happens.

Well, coming up next, VH1`s "Love and Hip Hop" in at number five on tonight`s SHOWBIZ Countdown, "Click It or Kick It?"

Now, critics complain that the show is degrading to women. Let`s watch a bit.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Wait, wait, wait. Wait, wait, wait.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Stop.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, my God!

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Stop, ladies, stop.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: OK. See, the thing is, the fan base is just growing. They seem to love what they see. Supporters have been granted the gift of an Atlanta based spinoff. Jenn is our Atlanta based talent tonight.

Critics are complaining, fans are there. Do you stick with what works or is it now on the shoulders of these reality stars to actually change what we see? Click it or kick in your mind?

HOBBY: I say click it. I`m a little biased because any show based in Atlanta. But at the same, I think this does give us insight into the music community and insight making a hip-hop album and being a part of that community coming up. Now, I also think they need to chill out on the violence a little bit and maybe re-create those story lines a little bit differently.

HAMMER: Hyla, is this a kick it for you? It`s looking that way.

HYLA: Yes. This is a kick it. I mean, my take away is it`s just a bunch of rappers who don`t want to, like, commit to their women. That`s what this show is about. That`s not a good reputation for the ATL, is it, Jenn?

HOBBY: No. Not really.

HAMMER: Not really. OK. Well, Jenn and Hyla, we are just getting warmed up here in our SHOWBIZ Countdown, "Click It or Kick It?" And we want Atlanta to be well-represented.

Here`s a reality star now that we just couldn`t get enough of in 2012, "Honey Boo Boo".

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

HONEY BOO BOO, REALITY STAR: I`m going to get riddy. Who likes my glasses, who likes my glasses.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: I like your classes. Honey Boo Boo child who ruled on reality TV this year. But can this pint-size show stopper keep the train rolling into the new year?

And "Dancing with the Stars", a surefire reality hit so far. But you know, after the all-star season, it may be time for the stars to hang up their dancing shoes. And can dancing cha-cha its way to the top of our SHOWBIZ Countdown, "Click It or Kick It?"

This is SBT, SHOWBIZ TONIGHT on HLN.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I just love America, this place is fantastic. It`s really the land of milk and honey.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: $6,000.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I think I`m just going to have to take it.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Coming in at number four on the SHOWBIZ Countdown of the top ten reality program this year, that have us asking "Click It or Kick It?", it`s Bravo`s "Shahs of Sunset", which follows a group of rich Persian-American friends who like the party and awful lot.

Of course, there was a lot of controversy from critics who did say that the show did not nothing but reinforce negative stereotypes. Still, after one season, "Shahs of Sunset" was renewed for a second. I guess now fans said click it instead of kick it.

We`re counting down the top reality shows this year that have us asking should we click it or kick it to the curb?

Coming in at number three, the show that follows Whitney Houston`s family as they deal with life after Whitney`s death. It is called "The Houstons: On Our Own" and it actually features Whitney Houston`s only daughter Bobbi Kristina. But since the show launched, a lot of critics have been questioning whether it`s just too much too soon.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BOBBI KRISTINA BROWN, WHITNEY HOUSTON`S DAUGHTER: Nobody knows anything about our relationship, and they never will, because it was just meant for us to understand and that`s it. I don`t think my family can handle that.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: And back with me now, entertainment guru`s Jenn Hobby and Hyla.

And I guess, the Houstons wanting to share their story, guys. But there`s been so many reports about Bobbi Kristina`s struggling since her mom`s death. It just feels like too much too soon for her to so many people.

Jenn, off to you. Do you say, "Click It or Kick It?"

HOBBY: I say kick it, A.J. It`s just too much too soon, it hasn`t been a year yet since Whitney`s passing, and all of the sudden, she is living her life in front of cameras. This child needs some private time and some time to mourn and to heal and get through whatever she`s going through. This relationship with the adopted stepbrother and all of these things going on, her reactions in mourning, and she hasn`t given herself time to do that without the public`s scrutiny. I just think, kick it.

HAMMER: Yes. Easy to agree with that.

All right, from the Houston family`s drama playing out on TV to dancing all-star drama, "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars". It`s at our number two spot in the SHOWBIZ Countdown.

Alyssa Croft, who became famous after getting joked on "The Bachelor" and her dance-pro partner Tony Dovolani, were crowned all-star champions. This was a season of fan favorites. They returned for a second chance to win the mirror ball trophy.

But there`s something to be said about seeing new blood on the dance floor, Hyla. Click it or kick it?

HYLA: I`m going to kick this one. Why? Because I like the version where we`re bringing in new people and I like to see the growth every week. That`s what I like about this show, you see somebody that`s really bad and at the end they could be a really good dancers. Here you have kind of like decent dancers getting a little bit better. Not so much fun to watch.

HAMMER: Perhaps a good one off, but maybe leave it in the past.

That leaves us at number one in our SHOWBIZ Countdown of the top ten reality TV shows this year to have us asking, "Click It or Kick It?" Which show will be crowned with all the glory?

Jenn, Hyla, do not move.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

HAMMER: I have been having a blast counting down the top ten reality TV shows this year that have us asking "Click It or Kick It?" It is finally time to reveal at the top of the hip. Who else could it be?

Coming in at number one, crowned with all the glory, it is pageant princess bona fide reality star Honey Boo Boo child who took the world by storm on her family reality show, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo."

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Sometimes when he (INAUDIBLE) it sounds like he`s saying Alana. Alana thinks that Lucy`s talking to her.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: My ma don`t be Glitzy.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I`m going to let you go, you stinks. The pig stinks.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Mama didn`t need glitzy, Honey Boo Boo. What could go wrong with glitzy, the pig. And how could we not give the top honor to Honey Boo Boo. Of course, if you are true fan of the show, you know that Glitzy is gone because Mama and Sugar Bear, Honey Boo Boo`s parents, they couldn`t take care of him anymore. But the family certainly really latching on to the hearts of millions of viewers.

Jenn Hobby, back to you. Click it or kick it for the next year?

HOBBY: I absolutely would say click it. This is such an honest family. They are just living life and not caring what everybody else thinks about it. And how can you not love the show that coined the charmed redneck at night?

(LAUGHTER)

HAMMER: Yes, I would have to agree with you on that. But people did have their issues with it. Let`s not forget it: it was Mama June who horrified us with her go to formula for Honey Boo Boo called Go-Go juice, a nice little mixture of red bull and mountain dew, Hyla. I do agree the family has a lot of charmed though. Click it or kick it for you?

HYLA: OK, this is tough for me, because I`m down for laughing with people, not necessarily at people. In a lot of interviews, you see June Boo Boo, if you will, saying hey, they are having a good time. So as long as they`re having fun, I`m OK with that.

I say click it only on this, if they could move forward by doing something positive, maybe they get healthy, they can still be crazy, red neckerized in all they want to. But like the soda drinks, that`s have got to stop, the restaurants they eat at need to stop. Maybe like a "Biggest Loser" type of intervention comes into play. I would like to see them become better.

HAMMER: But I will say, and I will have this to what you are saying, Hyla, I think where they do good for the country, is they do bust down some stereotypes, such compassion and sort of openness that you see coming from a family like this, you wouldn`t necessarily expect.

But we are going to leave it there. Whole lot of fun counting don with you guys.

Jenn Hobby, Hyla, thank you so much for being with us for this countdown.

Thank you for watching. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. You can catch SHOWBIZ TONIGHT Monday through Thursday, 11:00 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.

HLN continues right now.
