Aired January 28, 2014 - 21:00   ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DR. DREW PINSKY, HLN HOST (voice-over): Tonight, Kanye West and the Confederate flag.

Toronto`s crack mayor.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Maybe I should start doing crack cocaine. This guy, we -- I never knew who this guy was and now everybody knows who he is.

PINSKY: And Justin Bieber in bed.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: As a parent, I`m happy that he`s getting some rest.

PINSKY: Yes.

It`s the best of the Behavior Bureau.

Let`s get started.

(MUSIC)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

PINSKY: Good evening.

I`m joined by co-host Jenny Hutt.

And tonight, we`re looking at the best of the behavior bureau.

And, Jenny, we`ve got a lot to look at -- a lot of good material out there.

JENNY HUTT, CO-HOST: Oh, indeed and your behavior bureaus are, wow, Dr. Drew.

PINSKY: Yes, they are.

So let`s start with this. Politicians doing drugs, kept the behavior bureau working overtime. Lots of stuff to look at, lots of material. Check this out.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

ROB FORD, TORONTO MAYOR: Holy Christ, say hut, hut.

(INAUDIBLE)

FORD: Here we go.

You`re not wasting any time, are you?

Three thirteen.

I do not use crack cocaine.

ANNOUNCER: The booze, the dope.

FORD: So sick and tired of these allegations and all this (EXPLETIVE DELETED), excuse my words.

This is (EXPLETIVE DELETED), brother. I just need to go (EXPLETIVE DELETED) by myself, in my (EXPLETIVE DELETED) underwear. I want to go with this guy.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: You didn`t pick her up. Your staff picked her up.

FORD: No, I picked her up.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

PINSKY: Crack Mayor Rob Ford`s antics had us all and all of you wondering what the heck he was thinking. Well, fellow Canadian and comedian Tom Green joined the behavior bureau to discuss the so-called crack mayor. Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

TOM GREEN, COMEDIAN: Well, you know, I think another thing we have to remember is he may be a victim of the cell phone Internet culture, you know? Here he was trying to be a man of the people, would go to festivals and bars, and have drinks with his constituents.

And what happens is people take advantage of him. He`s out there, he`s got a drinking problem. All of a sudden, there`s a cell phone, all of a sudden, somebody is trying to get him to smoke something, maybe some crack.

JILLIAN BARBERIE, SOCIAL COMMENTATOR: It happens.

PINSKY: But, Tom, Jillian --

(CROSSTALK)

PINSKY: Tom paints the story in an interesting way. It`s like he has had predilection. He was trying to be sort of with the people, and maybe got a little too hard with the alcohol and too close to the substances for his biology.

BARBERIE: I look at Bill Clinton as a man of the people. He had some slip-ups along the way.

PINSKY: Oh, yes.

BARBERIE: But I think what we find so fascinating here is that it is a bit of a train wreck, it`s going off course, and we`re all watching.

And you know, you brought up a point last week, Dr. Drew, that we sort of build people up to tear them down. And I was thinking, I don`t recall building this guy up at all. I mean, he got into office --

PINSKY: Well, he`s the mayor, we build him up. We elevate them in status.

BARBERIE: Right. But did you know his name before all the scandal? None of us did.

PINSKY: No.

BARBERIE: So, we didn`t build him up in that way so we could tear him down. He`s doing a good job of it himself.

I have to applaud his honesty in a sense, but I think it`s the same honesty flash coco for cocoa puffs craziness, that is going to eventually be his demise.

PINSKY: And, Jenny, you know, people have -- when they`re using, they have their own definition of honesty, which is usually obfuscating honestly. It`s like you`d ask me the right question. It`s why addicts of alcohol have to maintain rigorous honesty, rigorous honesty.

HUTT: But, Dr. Drew, can I go back to what Tom was saying a minute ago? That he feels like he`s almost gotten himself, he got in trapped in a way by people because of the culture. But, look, I have food issues, and you find me in Canada and somebody puts a place of poutine in front of me, I`m going to eat those yummy cheese fries, right?

PINSKY: Yes.

HUTT: But then, once I`m caught on that video camera situation, I`m going to be contrite about it and I`m going to say, oops, oh no, I ate the poutine.

The problem is he doesn`t say he`s not admitting to anything, because what you said, Dr. Drew, that the inherent dishonesty that he veils or says is honesty, right?

PINSKY: Jennifer, your view on this? Jennifer Keitt?

JENNIFER KEITT, LIFE COACH: Yes, I think to Jenny`s point. That`s an excellent point because --

PINSKY: Poutine tastes good, is that the point? Poutine is yummy, is that the point?

KEITT: The fact that he is not admitting anything, he is showing kids how to not take responsibility for what they are doing in their lives. I mean, look at the pictures of him taking photos with children, with young folks, and I don`t think he`s thinking about the broader ramifications.

This saddens me, because as adults, that`s the only thing we have is our reputations and our characters, to show the next generation how to live.

And look at what he`s showing us. He is showing us how to hide, how to run, how to deny, how to still be in power, but how to skirt the real personal responsibility. It`s just so sad.

PINSKY: Yes. And, Cheryl, so Jennifer brings up a good and interesting point.

So, what is happening in people -- this is the behavior bureau after all -- what do you think? What`s your assessment of people who are choosing to stand behind this guy?

CHERYL ARUTT, PSYCHOLOGIST: Well, first, I`ve just got to say that I think the French speakers have to be having a field day with this behavior bureau. Just when you see it again, you will see why.

But I think what`s happening with people is that I think a lot of people legitimately like his political and social positions.

PINSKY: Right.

ARUTT: But when it puts him in a position where they have to then also accept that -- yes, he`s honest once there`s videotape evidence, and he keeps -- the poor things he said about his wife, I mean, my goodness, it just, you know?

BARBERIE: Wait, and then he trots her out there publicly. No one has seen her since he was elected --

ARUTT: Can you blame her?

BARBERIE: I know. And then, all of a sudden, this happens, and he`s trotted out like the lovely wife.

PINSKY: Let me ask my friend Tom Green about -- you heard those comments, right? What the mayor said about --

GREEN: About having plenty to eat at home?

PINSKY: That`s the line.

GREEN: Yes, yes.

PINSKY: What do you think?

GREEN: I thought, you know, it was a little bit outrageous. Clearly, he has a hard time editing himself in front of the camera. I think that`s what people like about him, but also what fascinates people about him. That`s just unbelievable that somebody in that position, a mayor, who`s in front of cameras all the time, isn`t able to have an edit button in his brain.

BARBERIE: And it`s not even that he said he gets it at home, it`s what he said before that, about the other woman, and his office was claiming that what he wanted to do -- that to me was the outrageous part.

GREEN: I didn`t want to say that part because, you know, we`re in the behavior bureau.

ARUTT: Yes, it was both outrageous. But like a woman to really come up and make something like that up that he --

PINSKY: And, Cheryl, the lack of edit, lack of insight, is there a little bit of bipolar quality here, too, or hypomania, or is that all substance- related?

ARUTT: Well, it`s disinhibition. I`m not sure exactly. I could be brain injury, it could be bipolar stuff. It could be drug induced, because that disinhibits all the executive functions. It could characterological. But it`s a problem. It`s a really big problem.

The guy really needs some help.

GREEN: I think the real irony here is this likable loud-mouthed quality that he has is probably what got him elected in the first place. Now because of this video, people are able to come in, seize on that and turn it obviously into a negative.

PINSKY: And, Jillian, your family is Canadian, right? Or your --

BARBERIE: Yes, my family lives in Toronto. I have two families, my birth family and my adopted family, all of them in the greater Toronto area, some in the downtown area.

And, you know, I told you I have a family of liberal arts people, scholars, and I think this is the time -- they voted for him. I don`t think that they are happy now, they definitely want him gone. They want his role diminished as much as possible, because it`s what Tom said, you know, this is not a good representative of who we are as a nation, not that he has to be.

PINSKY: But, let`s be clear -- Tom is ecstatic, as are other Canadians, that it`s part of the 24-hour news cycle here in the United States without having to come down to the United States, like Tom and Jillian, you did. He didn`t come down here to perform a scandal, no?

BARBERIE: Listen, I think part of the appeal is exactly what Tom said. We love -- we are straight shooters. Canadians are no B.S. We like to call it how we see it. I do think he`s got major issues that go way beyond --

PINSKY: All right. Fair enough.

Tom, last word.

GREEN: It can be frustrating sometimes as a Canadian, when people come up to you, they always say, oh, you`re so polite, Canadians are so polite. And I think -- well, we`re not really that polite. We`ve got a crack- smoking mayor. So, it`s kind of nice that people do see --

(CROSSTALK)

BARBERIE: And then Tom tells them to go piss off after --

PINSKY: Yes, let me be the first for congratulate both of you. So, thank you very much.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

PINSKY: So there`s what we learned, Jenny, that Canadians aren`t that nice because they have a crack smoking mayor.

(LAUGHTER)

HUTT: It`s a whole situation is just still so perplexing, Dr. Drew. How this guy --

PINSKY: Yes, the object fuss indicating, disassembling, deflecting, as Cheryl said there, the disinhibition, as Tom said, the lack of editing, in spite of him in front of cameras all day, I think that`s what we have trouble with. He`s not drinking right now, I think. We`ll see how he does in the New Year.

HUTT: Yes, I hope he does well once the holiday season comes to a close.

I have a question for you, though. At some point in that behavior bureau, Cheryl had mentioned the French-speaking population would take issue with our bureau. I`m wonder what word we said incorrectly?

PINSKY: I wonder what that was -- I think it`s the poutine. I think it has a different pronunciation.

HUTT: It does not. It`s poutine.

PINSKY: I think that`s what she`s talking about.

HUTT: No.

PINSKY: We`ll finish up here. Let`s call Cheryl and find out what the heck she was talking about. But a second before we were talking about the French. The picture was up. You guys can show that again of the before and after with the mayor. You can see he`s less bloated, that maybe he has not been engaging in his binge alcohol episodes there. You see him on the right --

HUTT: He looks so much better.

PINSKY: Yes, he looks a lot better. That redness, that plethora is all signs of heavy alcohol consumption.

So, he`s a binge alcoholic. He can control it for a while. We`ll see how long it lasts.

Coming up, the best of behavior bureau. We`ll talk about Kanye West, Justin Bieber behaving badly, and more.

Stay with us.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Some time ago you decided you were drinking, out drinking and you decided to drive. There was an accident.

You`ve been here with us for some time. This accident took place back in 2013.

Mr. (SOUND DELETED), 2023. You`ve got in a coma for the past 10 years.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Where`s daughter at?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Your last memory before the night.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Out drinking.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Do you feel that? Feel that?

UNIDENTIFIEDMALE: Yes. Yes.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You have five DUIs. Five DUIs.

(LAUGHTER)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Five.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes. I ought to kill you both.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Dennis, five DUIs. Five (EXPLETIVE DELETED) DUIs. It`s not funny. It`s not funny.

You can`t have lost your daughter. Ten years wasted away here. Ten years.

Dude, you`ve got to stop the (EXPLETIVE DELETED) stop (EXPLETIVE DELETED) laughing.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

PINSKY: Back with Jenny, looking at the best of the behavior bureau. Reminder if you have questions or comments, you can tweet us right now @DrDrewHLN #BehaviorBureau.

And that was all fake, Jenny. Everybody we watched there.

HUTT: I know. Yes. I also -- listen, I thought it was really fake, actually. I`m not sure that the drunk guy ever really thought that it was to 2023 or whatever it was.

PINSKY: It was a viral video of a guy who had repeated episodes of drunk driving. The friends allegedly staged that set up, hoping to scare him into getting help and stopping the behaviors.

HUTT: Right.

PINSKY: Here`s what the behavior bureau had to say about it.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Hello. This is Amy (INAUDIBLE) with a new update. Former song stress (ph) and actress, Miley Cyrus, is facing eviction from a bullet county Kentucky trailer park for refusing to stop defecating on neighbors` yard. This isn`t the first incident Cyrus has had with the mobile homeowners association. You may recall back in 2015, Cyrus was busted for cooking meth in her double wide.

President Hillary Clinton has vowed to attack Canada if the nation does not stop granting citizenship to Americans who flee the U.S. due to the mandatory Clinton hair care program.

And finally, Justin Bieber and his lifetime partner, Dale Earnhardt Jr., celebrating their ten-year anniversary in Charlotte, North Carolina along with their dogs pit road and drum blue (ph).

(END VIDEO CLIP)

PINSKY: Now, there are those criticizing the pranksters for having made a joke of this man`s addiction. And I think it was Sam, you said, if you humor gets him treatment, you don`t care what --

SAMANTHA SCHACHER, SOCIAL COMMENTATOR: Well, Dr. Drew, here`s a thing, he`s a comedian, OK? This guy is in a YouTube community. Tom Mabe --

(CROSSTALK)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I`m good. I`m good.

PINSKY: Yes. I`m just saying. We`re a live TV show. We make sure our guests have a phone that`s barely working. So, it`s perfect. Way to go, Tom. I`m just pulling your chain a little bit.

SCHACHER: I think it makes sense with certain people, Dr. Drew. With comedians, it does. If he`s a prankster, he`s well-known, he`s actually a clean comedian. He`s a lot of respect and a lot of people following him, a lot of kids on YouTube.

So, yes, if Tom makes a video that resonates with one child out there to not drink and drive, then I have to give him kudos. But I would hope that his friend gets some treatment. Have they not tried to sit down and stage an intervention with him?

PINSKY: Yes. And Tiffanie -- I`ll let Tiffanie and Cheryl ring in. First to you, Tiffanie, this guy is really chronic alcoholic with seven DUIs --

(CROSSTALK)

PINSKY: This is not someone who`s going to be -- I mean, it may be waiting for friends to get through to him. You know, you never know when you`re going to get through to an alcoholic, but it`s not going to fix his alcoholism in any way.

TIFFANIE DAVIS HENRY, PH.D., PSYCHOTHERAPIST: I would have to imagine that they have gone to him several times, and Tom -- I mean, he sounds like a great friend, and he`s trying to get to him in any way he possibly can. And so, I would imagine that he`s going to him several times in several different ways.

I mean, he`s like, you know what, this is like the last straw. I have to agree with Jillian in the last segment, I would have probably up the ante to handcuff him to the bed, maybe tell him his testicles caught on fire in the accident.

(CROSSTALK)

PINSKY: Speaking on fire, you guys are all on fire tonight.

Cheryl, what`s your response, Cheryl?

ARUTT: Well, Tom`s friend has to be such a serious alcoholic that if the man wakes up ten years later and doesn`t wonder why he`s still drunk, OK? So, let`s think about that. You know, this is a really serious, serious problem. I think the guy was trying to reach people, but I really feel like there was a missed opportunity to really let this seven in, maybe building on Jillian said.

But I was this thinks of "It`s a Wonderful Life." I know it`s a whole other age group, but what might have happened over those ten years if he hadn`t been there to protect or take care of his daughter or did he kill somebody? This guy had an amazing lack of curiosity about what happened --

PINSKY: Well, but again, and to be fair guys, remember, in reality, he was just waking up from a big bender. He`s completely out of it. Danine, finish me up.

DANINE MANETTE, CRIMINAL INVESTIGATOR: Yes. Dr. Drew, I really think that they should have told him his daughter was killed in an accident and he wrapped her around a tree with a car, because I want him to like feel the pain, maybe of what these other parents feel and these other family members when they get that phone call and that news.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes.

MANETTE: And maybe if he can put himself in their shoes to have that empathy.

PINSKY: Tom, the critics agree.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We should have killed the kid.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

PINSKY: Well, the critics agreed you should have gone further and done less. I love it when the behavior bureau agrees not at all.

HUTT: I mean, look, this is the thing with that, Dr. Drew, if this video helps somebody to abstain from driving while under the influence, fantastic, but I don`t think this video is going to make a difference in that man`s life.

PINSKY: It`s the non-alcoholic that gets affected by this sort of messaging, the alcoholic, who is the person more likely to drive drunk, it`s like -- just say no, those aren`t the people affected by these messages so much.

It`s please, everybody. This has been the message all year round, get help before you hurt yourself or somebody else. How many people are going to get hurt because of somebody with mental illness, somebody with addiction doesn`t get help when they should. You were not respond for your condition, you are responsible for your recovery.

You agree, Jenny?

HUTT: I do. But, Dr. Drew, so if you suspect that somebody is driving under the influence or might drive under the influence, do you get in their face? What do you recommend that people do?

PINSKY: You call the cops, you give the driver`s license, the license plate to the cops, you say there`s somebody driving dangerously. That will catch the alcoholic`s attention, that will get them into treatment, either because they wake up to it because this gets through to them, or because it`s mandated by the court. In either case, you may have saved a life that night, or in the future. The police are there to help with situations like this.

Next on the behavior bureau, we`ll talk about Kanye West wearing a Confederate flag on his sleeve. More with the behavior bureau after this.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

PINSKY: Back to my co-host Jenny.

Now, Kanye West is no stranger to controversy. He recently stepped in it again when he was seen wearing a Confederate flag on his sleeve. Merchandise he is selling on his tour Yeezus tour, is that how to pronounce? Yeezus, is emblazoned with this polarizing symbol.

He spoke on it with Los Angeles Amp Radio, 97.1. Take a listen.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KANYE WEST, RAPPER: You know, the Confederate flag represented slavery in a way the way -- that`s my abstract take on what I know about it, right? So, I made the song new slaves. So, I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag. It`s my flag now. Now, what you going to do?

(END VIDEO CLIP)

PINSKY: It kind of reminds me the logic about the "N" word, kind of similar thinking?

HUTT: To me it`s an epic fail, that`s how I feel about that.

PINSKY: Well, I asked Ms. Ali what she thinks of it. Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

SHAHRAZAD ALI, AUTHOR (via telephone): I The situation is so ridiculous. How is it that every time a Black man get with a White woman, he first start trying to prove how black he is and how much he love black people.

Kanye West is just half racist. He doesn`t want his own woman that God gave him, he went and got him a White woman --

(CROSSTALK)

PINSKY: Hold on, Miss Ali, hold on, because Tiffanie is having a very powerful reaction to what you`re saying. I can`t help but go right to her. Tiffanie, what do you want to say? And you`re feel free to talk to Miss Ali.

TIFFANIE DAVIS HENRY, HLN CONTRIBUTOR: You did not have to do that. I was really enjoying what Miss Ali was saying.

PINSKY: Well, she can continue.

HENRY: Didn`t have to call me out like that. I understand where Miss Ali is coming from. I think my take on this is Kanye knows exactly how inflammatory this flag is. He knows what it represents.

Maybe he doesn`t know what it represents, because maybe if he did, maybe he wouldn`t put it on his jacket. But I think what he`s trying to do is take back the power that this symbol had.

PINSKY: No, we get that. Yes, we get that. And is it not the case --

HENRY: Yes. But is that necessary?

PINSKY: Ms. Ali, there`s --

HENRY: Think about it this way, too, Dr. Drew. A lot of people have said that they do the same thing, but the "N" word, you know, Black folks will use it, and we`ll take the "N" word back and we`ll start to use it, it empowers us, but it continues to enslave us as well. So, I don`t really agree with that --

(CROSSTALK)

PINSKY: Ms. Ali, how about that? It`s the same thing as that argument for the "N" word. The African-American people can -- take its power away.

ALI: That`s nonsense. Kanye is what you call a little pimp rapper. He had pimped Jesus, you know, used him to get attention in that way. He wants this as his form of rebellion. Now, let me tell you what I really think is going on with this guy.

PINSKY: Don`t scare me.

(LAUGHTER)

ALI: I`m not. But ever since his mother passed, I think Kanye needs some grief therapy, because he has been rebelling. He`s been doing a lot of erratic behavior things, and just doing a lot of silly stuff.

But for him to come out and claim he tried to defend the rest of the Black people against slavery and racism, that`s absurd. He`s a major racist. He doesn`t even like his own self. He with somebody else, you know? So, I think that that`s silly that he`s doing that.

PINSKY: Hold on. Lynn, is she onto something there?

(LAUGHTER)

LYNN BERRY, HLN HOST: Dr. Drew, good luck with that. Way to throw me to the wolves.

Listen, honestly, Ms. Ali, something that I think is really offensive in what you`re saying is that you`re calling him a racist because he`s with someone of a different race, and I think that demeans interracial marriages that many people find happiness and love and I really think that that is what I take offense with.

ALI: Well, you can be offended, I understand that. But I`m talking facts about something in our community, how we define this. Once again, all people want to do is to tell us what things are defined for us and what they mean to us.

Kanye is a joke to us. We understand what he`s doing. And as I said, he pimped his own woman.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

PINSKY: Jenny, peace and love, peace and love whenever ms. Ali is around. Just feel like I want to make the peace.

HUTT: I have to tell you something -- sometimes she says things that, yes, she says some things that are inflammatory, but then she has wisdom so many of the times.

PINSKY: Absolutely. You have to listen very carefully. She`s speaking on behalf of an emotional state that a lot of people feeling, justified or not, PC or not, you have to listen and rather than dismiss it or shrink away from it, don`t you think?

HUTT: I do. Especially when he started talking about how lost he seems since his mother died. I totally get that. I went through a lot of that when I lost my mother 5 1/2 years ago, so I get what she`s saying. I never thought about Kanye like that before.

PINSKY: See, Ms. Ali, there`s always this pearl of wisdom. That`s why I love talking to her, even though she -- Lynn`s point was well taken. I mean, it did throw a little -- it cast an aspersion --

HUTT: Oh, yes. That part? Yes. That`s not --

PINSKY: On interracial marriages, which should diminish racism.

HUTT: It`s just a marriage, right.

PINSKY: OK, listen, more on Kanye and more with Ms. Ali. Ms. Ali, part two.

Remind you, you can find us on Instagram @DrDrewHLN.

Back after this.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

KANYE WEST, RAPPER: I think about when I`m on -- winter moment like that mountain goes really, really eye (ph). And if I slip to my leg happens (ph) like you never know and I think about my family, I`m like, wow, this is like, you know, this is like being a police officers or something, like war or something like you literally going out to do your job everyday, you know, knowing that something can happen to you, you know, verbally from the press bashing you, something can happen to you from, you know, from people not liking you anymore.

You can actually slip on that stage, but it`s like we walk in, you know, this tightrope and fighting for creativity and fighting for ideas and fighting for thought.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

PINSKY: Back with Jenny, and we are talking with the "Behavior Bureau" about, well, the interesting and controversial Kanye West. That little conversation, I didn`t quite get. I mean, mean he`s risking his life by dancing on the stage?

HUTT: Yes. Listen, he takes himself very seriously. And who am I to judge that exactly? I don`t know that I love that aspect of Kanye. I like a lot of his music.

PINSKY: You know, I do, too, but he`s probably a likable guy, too, but there was something on his facial expression that bothered me. He had a little expression -- too bad we don`t have Janine Driver here to look at this, but a little expression of contempt. He had some contempt.

HUTT: That`s part of it, yes.

PINSKY: Yes. I don`t know if he didn`t like the interviewer or does he always has a little sense of superiority and contempt? I want -- see, look as his mouth, that kind of down -- it`s not so prominent there. Later in the interview, it got a little more obvious.

HUTT: Yes. We don`t need to be and I love her, but we got this, Dr. Drew.

PINSKY: Excellent. We`ve learned something from Janine by worked with her through the year.

HUTT: Yes.

PINSKY: Now, I want to read a tweet from @Robinlynn. We`ve got a response to it. It`s, quote, ""I think Kanye is an example of classic narcissistic behavior, but he also appears immature in thinking if that makes sense." Well, I asked Ms. Ali of what she thought of that tweet and that theory. Take a look.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

VOICE OF SHAHRAZAD ALI, AUTHOR: Well, I certainly think he is immature, but more importantly, I think that effects our young people who kind of worship him sometimes is that he`s an exhibitionist and the worst kind of way. And there`s one part of a back story here I want to mention, Dr. Drew. Now, historically as Black women, we have always been known as being, you know, voluptuous and certainly having the biggest buttocks of the women in America.

There`s nothing wrong with that. That`s attractive to us and to a lot of people. However, Kanye and his woman, Kim Kardashian, we can`t have nothing. We can`t even have the biggest butt. White women are getting all these butt implants and injections and getting their behind blowed up.

(CROSSTALK)

PINSKY: I`ve got a White woman here who needs to talk. Sam --

(CROSSTALK)

SAMANTHA SCHACHER, SOCIAL COMMENTATOR: I want to move back to what we were originally talking about, not Kim Kardashian and her artificial buttocks.

PINSKY: Is it artificial, is that true?

SCHACHER: There are rumors. Yes. There`s plenty of rumors saying that they are implants.

(CROSSTALK)

SCHACHER: OK. We`re not going to talk about that. I want to talk about - -

ALI: No, we can talk about that.

SCHACHER: I think we need to talk about the fact, and listen, I`m not normally one to defend Kanye West and his narcissism, but in this case, let`s say that he did have a sincere intent to try to re-appropriate the meaning of this disgusting -- I`m just saying, I`m playing devil`s advocate, what if he was trying to --

(CROSSTALK)

ALI: He ought to re-appropriate the meaning of the Black family. That would be something good for him to do. That`s where we`re having problems with. That`s what`s being destroyed in our community. That`s where we`re lacking images and video to show our younger people that this is what it looks like. This is how it can be successful. This is how you survive in today`s world.

PINSKY: OK Tiffanie, you want to follow -- Tiffanie, go ahead.

TIFFANIE DAVIS HENRY, PH.D., PSYCHOTHERAPIST: Well, you know what, I will agree with one thing that Miss Ali said. We have seen a lot more of this narcissistic acting out, and the things that he`s done that we`ve all just kind of had this strange look on our face after the passing of his mom.

And I think even in his interview, he did state that some things have -- you know, he kind of went out of place out of line, stuff with Taylor Swift, all of that stuff happened after his mom`s passing.

So, you know, I think he is really grasping for straws, grasping for some sense of normalcy, some sense of family. But this thing today really, really shocked me. I shouldn`t have been surprised, because it`s Kanye West. But again, I`m surprised because it`s Kanye West.

PINSKY: OK. Lynn, finish me off here.

LYNN BERRY, HLN HOST: I would say it`s not about the message, it`s about the messenger. If you want to send a message, I would say Kanye West is probably not the best way to do it. Miss Ali, if you`re talking about a community and who needs to be setting an example for community, I would not start with Kanye West as the best --

PINSKY: But, Miss Ali --

ALI: Well, I would start with him. I would start with him, because he is the one that our young people are looking at and imitating.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

PINSKY: She has a point. I mean, the idea of -- she said misappropriating the African-American family. There could be a good role models out there for helping, as she said, could work. That`s a good message.

HUTT: Well, that is a good message, but the message that Kanye West is doing what soldiers are doing or police officers are doing is just completely misguided. And Dr. Drew, I believe you probably know that there was this open letter written by a police officer I think from Ohio saying just that, like, let the Taliban -- or let somebody comment at Kanye and let him return -- let guns come at him and let him return with a song. What`s that going to do?

PINSKY: Yes. Listen, again, that was, in my opinion a contemptuous comparison to say I`m going to raise you to a ridiculous extent and that argument just makes no sense. It sort of demeans his argument, but look, we started with the confederate flag, Ms. Ali, had as usual interesting interpretations to that. We ended with positive messages for African- American children. I`m all for that. I think, as usual again, Miss Ali, you got to listen very carefully to her.

But listen, next up, what I want to get into is Justin Bieber. We`ll go in depth With Justin Bieber. That`s right.

HUTT: Great.

PINSKY: That`s exactly what`s going to happen. Back with that after this.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Justin Bieber also, like you mentioned, another one of those younger stars who seems to have their ups and downs. He certainly hasn`t lost many fans. People, talk about Beatle mania, there`s Bieber- mania, people gathering outside his hotel wherever he is.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It just feels like he`s having a little bit of an identity crisis to who he is and where he wants his music to go.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He said he feels like the public bullies him.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The reality is he`s filthy rich. So, if he wanted to go find himself, he has enough money where he could go and spend six months on an island and grow up.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: All right. That`s fair enough. If you have all the money in the world, then we have no sympathy if you`re getting bullied.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

PINSKY: Back with Jenny and the best of the "Behavior Bureau." Again, tweet us at @DrDrewHLN #BehaviorBureau to get into the conversation. And not too long ago, a video of Justin Bieber appeared everywhere. It showed him, well, in bed, there he is, with a young woman blowing a kiss his way.

Jenny, I`m not quite sure -- it was a little distressing to me that got so much attention. I actually felt bad for him that somebody broke in and filmed him God knows where and then sort of implied something goofy was going on. What do you think?

HUTT: Right. Well, it`s unclear what exactly the circumstances were, Dr. Drew, but I find that girl super-creepy. And here`s what I can tell you about Justin Bieber, that a couple of years ago, I took my daughter to work with me at Sirius/XM where Justin was for the day, and we got to meet him. And he just seemed like a really hard-working, exhausted little boy.

PINSKY: Yes.

HUTT: And so, I`m sure growing up with the way he has, with much exposure and power and fame and fortune all at once, has to do something -- and he`s tired.

PINSKY: I`ve met his mom and spoken to her on great detail in several occasions. She is lovely. She`s got her own issues with depression -- very public about that and she`s appropriately involved and concerned with her son who lives a very strange life. Well, here is what the "Behavior Bureau" had to say about it.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

SCHACHER: OK. Well, first of all, within the first 12 hours, they garnered, I think, just over 2 million views. But, this girl -- so, apparently in Rio, De Janeiro, Justin Bieber, he is touring right now all over Brazil and he went to -- afterwards to his own house, and they had a house party. And, they invited 50 or so something people. And, apparently this girl, according to Justin Bieber`s people snuck in and took this video.

Of course, other people are speculating is she a prostitute? Other people are saying she`s not a prostitute. The reason why, people initially speculated that she was a prostitute because Justin also earlier allegedly visited a brothel, and I say alleged, because he was covered in a sheet. But, you can clearly see he had the same tattoo --

PINSKY: Wait a second. Sam, he`s covered in a sheet, therefore --

(CROSSTALK)

SCHACHER: It`s -- we have to say alleged, because you could not see it was him, but you could tell it was his wrist tattoo, which peeked out from underneath the bed sheet.

PINSKY: OK. OK, whatever.

HUTT: And, that cute face he has.

PINSKY: And, my thing is Jerry, I`m actually disturbed by this. I mean this guy -- Somebody walked into his hotel room basically and starts videoing him and it goes out to millions of people. Isn`t that sort of a violation?

JERRY SPRINGER, HOST OF "THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW": Is it against the law to fall asleep?

PINSKY: Right. Right, exactly. I`m your sheet what we`re fighting out. To be under sheet is against the law --

(CROSSTALK)

SPRINGER: Oh, yes. Honestly, I want to be concerned, but I can`t. I`m just really finding it difficult to get excited about this. But, I wish him the best of luck.

PINSKY: Yes. You know what? You know what, Jerry?

(LAUGHING)

PINSKY: Jerry, I`m actually with you. I am with you.

SPRINGER: I hope his career goes well.

HUTT: Me too. Right.

PINSKY: Yes. I am with you. Now --

SPRINGER: And, as a parent, I`m happy that he`s getting some rest.

(LAUGHING)

PINSKY: Yes.

HUTT: I felt the same way. By the way, I totally felt like that, Jerry. I was like where is his mom?

PINSKY: His mom is in his life and is concerned with him and works with him. We`ve all met the mom and she`s lovely.

HUTT: Yes.

PINSKY: But there have been some behaviors that have given people concerned. Do you have guys have that list? I think you might it even have a full screen of this where he`s been out here -- he stormed out an off stage. Apparently, he run-in with paparazzi. He was speeding through the neighbor in his Ferrari. He lost his --

SCHACHER: He has Ferrari.

PINSKY: Yes, but --

HUTT: He`s 19. I mean, come on!

PINSKY: Let me get from Wendy, whether she has any real concerns? Have you watched this and have a real concern about it?

WENDY WALSH, PSYCHOLOGIST: I have watched it. I don`t think this girl just walked in there. Whether or not she hooked up with him is really the question. What she wants everyone to think is that she did hook up with him, so more than anything she`s an opportunist.

HUTT: OK. Wendy -- Wendy. He`s Canadian. I don`t know.

WALSH: I know. Canadian --

PINSKY: This is all Canada night just so you know. Danine, anything from your standpoint?

DANINE MANETTE, CRIMINAL INVESTIGATOR: Yes. You know, I love Justin Bieber. I`m going to have to admit that right now on national television. I saw his movie. I think he`s great.

HUTT: I cried.

MANETTE: I just wish people wouldn`t bash him so much. I get so annoyed with a grown man beating a boy --

PINSKY: All right. So, here`s the deal. Sam, I`ll give you the last word, but I`m going to put this to rest. Sam, go ahead.

SCHACHER: OK. So, there is some questionable behavior. So, let`s not dismiss that. Some people are saying he`s spiraling out of control. For that, I would say that`s ridiculous. I think he`s representing more of behavior of someone that`s entitled. He`s got a whole lot of money at 19 years old. A whole lot of pain, and sometimes, he act a little douche baggy.

PINSKY: OK. Well, fair enough.

SCHACHER: He`s 19.

PINSKY: Jerry, is he entitled to that? Little D-bag behavior, is that OK with you?

SPRINGER: Is he entitled to it?

PINSKY: Yes.

SPRINGER: Well, if he sells that many records, yes probably, you know.

PINSKY: It`s OK. Fair enough.

PINSKY: Jenny, when did --

HUTT: So, Dr. Drew --

PINSKY: Yes, please. You first.

HUTT: You have 21-year-old triplets? And they`re great kids, right?

PINSKY: Yes.

HUTT: Have they ever have sort of douchy moments?

PINSKY: If they have, they`ve been kept from my view, but I have two 21- year-old males.

(LAUGHTER)

PINSKY: And so, I don`t know any 21-year-old males that don`t have douchy moments once in a while.

(CROSSTALK)

PINSKY: Right. He`s under 24-hour -- scrutiny like this. I can imagine some things would bleed through. What I want to know, though, is when did Jerry Springer become a yiddish semana (ph). All of a sudden --

(LAUGHTER)

PINSKY: As long as he`s healthy, as long as he gets adequate sleep and takes his vitamins, I`m happy. It`s like, Jerry what happened to you?

HUTT: Wait a minute, can you just talk like that the whole rest of the show, Dr. Drew? That would make me really happy.

PINSKY: Are they laughing in the control room? Am I being funnier? OK. They like it. OK. They like it in the control room. So, thank you, Jenny.

All right. Next up, blaming the customer because the pants don`t fit, therefore, it`s the customer`s problem. We are back with an outraged "Behavior Bureau" and the man that said that had some consequences. We`ll be right back.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

PINSKY: Back with Jenny and we`re looking at the best of the "Behavior Bureau." So, if you`d like to make a group of women angry, just blame a woman`s body if the clothes don`t fit, right? I got that right?

HUTT: Yes. That is so not cool, Dr. Drew.

PINSKY: No. It`s not cool at all. Listen to what the now former head Lululemon told Bloomberg TV.

CHIP WILSON, LULULEMON FOUNDER: Some women`s bodies just actually don`t work for it. Just, you know, really with the rubbing through the thighs, how much pressure is there. I mean, over a period of time and how much they use --

(END VIDEO CLIP)

PINSKY: I think you`re still reacting to that guy? Yes?

HUTT: Yes, he`s disgusting. And that`s why he`s the former head of Lululemon.

PINSKY: Well, here`s what the "Behavior Bureau," the women on the "Behavior Bureau" all had to say.

WALSH: Lululemon is a Canadian Company. They have been banned in many Canadian high schools, by the way, because they ride so low and so tight and they have that see through butt -

HUTT: Yes, because the mayor can`t fit in them. So, he said --

WALSH: Exactly! But, obviously, this has nothing to do with women`s bodies.

HUTT: No.

WALSH: And, if this guy is promoting eating disorders so that young girls can get the thigh gap, then he needs to close his mouth right now because the mothers and the women of world do not want to hear it. He needs to find better fabric to manufacture in China that does not ball up.

PINSKY: Sam.

SCHACHER: Yes. Well, first of all, from a business standpoint, Dr. Drew, I`m a business owner and you never blame the customer. Business customer - -Customer service 101, you own up to it. And, there are actually studies that prove that you can gain more trust and more loyalty in a customer when you presented this negative situation just by being helpful and sensitive to the customers, so they completely dropped the ball -- PINSKY: All right --

SCHACHER: -- And, I am sorry. If I was going to wear $100 pair of yoga pants and do a downward dog, you better hope that the person behind me cannot see my v-jay jay.

HUTT: That`s right.

PINSKY: I`m seeing Jason in a wind up here. Go ahead, Jason. Have at it.

JASON ELLIS, SIRIUS XM RADIO HOST: First of all, I just want to say, what a thrill it is to be on this panel. Drew, you`re not that hot, but look at the things in between us. This is awesome.

(LAUGHING)

ELLIS: I feel like being in these pants -- if anybody is getting ripped off, it`s me to fight like you because of your pants and then we go home and then you take those pants off and your butt falls off. Well, then I got ripped off.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

PINSKY: Wow! Jason Ellis, always bringing it.

HUTT: Listen.

PINSKY: Please, go ahead, Jenny.

HUTT: I was just going to say, it`s a lot of false advertising with us. I can admit it.

(CROSSTALK)

PINSKY: It`s all good. We like it anyway.

(LAUGHTER)

PINSKY: I`ve got an update on the gentleman who made those comments. A number of resignations followed this pants problem at Lululemon. The company founder announced that he`s stepping down from his role as chairman sometime in the next six months. Speculation is whether or not, you know, the -- that stepping down has something to do with this. Also, a new CEO has been named.

But Jenny, let me ask you this. Is there a way he could have said something like our clothes are not for everybody without being so offensive or is it just territory to stay away from?

HUTT: Well, first of all, it`s extra-offensive, because these are fitness clothing. So, is he only intending people who are already in shape should be wearing his clothes that are meant to be used for fitness? It just doesn`t make any sense.

PINSKY: I think that answer was -- yes, I think the answer is stay away from it, just judging by your answer. As a male, there`s certain stuff I can wear and what I can`t wear, and it`s just the way they design it and that`s the way it is. So, it`s sort of not that big a deal as a guy, but I think you`re right. For women, it somehow becomes, you know, very unpleasant to even bring that up.

HUTT: Yes.

PINSKY: All right. Here we go, let`s go to the "Last Call". That`s up next. I got a surprise for you, Jenny.

(COMMERCIAL BREAK)

PINSKY: Time for the "Last Call." And Jenny, it goes to our good friend @zorbitor who has a little present for you that I`d like to share with you. It`s a picture you of and me on the top of a wedding cake. If I can scroll it up there --

HUTT: Oh my God! When did he do that?

PINSKY: Isn`t that a lovely picture?

(LAUGHTER)

PINSKY: He`s done a wonderful job once again. I don`t know if that`s him and his wife or girlfriend in the background or something, but he definitely sent us a picture so we can identify him and get that up there, too. That is too damned funny. Is there an app down there?

HUTT: I don`t know, but I think I look afraid.

(LAUGHTER)

PINSKY: Well, if you were on top a wedding cake with me, you should be.

(LAUGHTER)

HUTT: Yes.

(LAUGHTER)

PINSKY: Well, anyway, thank you --

HUTT: I always say that, poor Susan.

(LAUGHTER)

PINSKY: Well, she`ll tell you about it. So, Jenny, thank you so much. Thank you all for watching. Thanks to our "Behavior Bureau" members. We`ll see you next time. Good night.
