ANDERSON COOPER, CNN HOST: I mean this, for me, is the most extraordinary like 15 minutes in New York City every year.

ANDY COHEN, CNN HOST: So sweet right now. It's a real sweet, tender, gentle moment for our city.

COOPER: It really is. And it's so fascinating because I grew up in New York City. I never came here as a kid. I never had been here and I always kind of hated New Year's Eve. And coming here, it brings me back every year just to witness this.

COHEN: There's a real peace about it.

RICHARD QUEST, CNN HOST: I've got something for you. Actually, it's not for you. I was in London for Christmas and ...

COOPER: Aww.

QUEST: He needs to be looked after.

COOPER: He's a Beefeater bear. I love it. Or -- he's not a Beefeater, he's a Cold Stream Guard.

QUEST: He loves his costume.

COHEN: She loves a costume.

QUEST: And this is for lily.

COOPER: Oh, that's very sweet.

COHEN: Oh, for Lily the dog.

Who doesn't love clothes for dogs? Anderson is such a dog clothes guy.

COOPER: I do sort of feel like dogs have existed for thousands of years without clothes and somehow they've made it.

COHEN: Someone sent me boots for my dog today.

QUEST: I'd pay good money to watch you put it on.

COHEN: I would like to see that too, Richard. Boy, you look very sharp.

COOPER: My God, that tux.

COHEN: This is your midnight drag?

QUEST: I don't do drag except at Christmas.

COOPER: It's a very British thing. Only at Christmas. It's like the royal family. They only do it at Christmas.

QUEST: No. I believe in dressing up properly for the occasion. 2020 is going to be a good year.

COHEN: 2020.

You think?

QUEST: Yes.

COOPER: What are you looking forward to most in 2020?

QUEST: Oh, it's easy. I'm getting married.

COHEN: Oh, mazel tov.

QUEST: Thank you.

COOPER: When?

COHEN: Have you set a date?

QUEST: In March in London and then we'll have other events as the year goes on.

COOPER: Other events. I love it. That's great.

COHEN: Green card marriage?

QUEST: Shameless.

COHEN: That's great. Congratulations. So happy for you.

COOPER: He's a Brit?

QUEST: What are you looking forward to? COHEN: I am looking forward to just more time with my son. Tomorrow morning we are heading out somewhere warm together and I'm going to just hang with him and chill out. He's at a really cool age right now, where everything -- he's trying to walk and smiling a lot. He loves Anderson.

COOPER: He's a great kid.

COHEN: And he's a good boy.

What are you looking forward to this year?

COOPER: The honest answer?

So I always thought I would die by 50 because my dad died at 50. So my plan was always up to 50. So when I hit 50 --

(CROSSTALK)

COOPER: -- well, no, I'm sorry. You wanted an honest answer. It's not a depressing thing.

COHEN: I know.

COOPER: I realized, OK, I did everything I wanted to do and I've lived an extraordinary life. But I want a second act. I want something new and something different. I'm incredibly excited at discovering what that may be.

COHEN: I am excited about watching you discover that and gently helping you along the way.

Speaking of gentle guidance, Randi Kaye is live in Key West.

[00:15:00]

COHEN: I think Sushi is there.

COOPER: Randi, sweetie. Randi.

COHEN: Sweetie, I have been here before. I know what you're going through. It doesn't end well. That's all I'm saying.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It is a tradition that I kiss the correspondent.

RANDI KAYE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Oh, love you. We are having the best time. Take a look at this crowd.

COOPER: Yes. Randi.

COHEN: Randi changed clothes, I think.

COOPER: Well, she was bathed in gin.

COHEN: Rum.

COOPER: So, yes, of course, she changed clothes.

COHEN: I think it was gin. It may have been some other --

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We're having a wonderful time.

Anderson, you should come down here with us next year.

KAYE: Anderson and Andy, they need you here.

COOPER: We would love to be there, although it's hard to beat New Year's Eve --

KAYE: They're freezing their buns off in Times Square.

COOPER: If you got in The Shoe, they can get in The Shoe. Let's give them a dare.

KAYE: I wish they would get in The Shoe. Not me but maybe them.

Should we dance it up?

Whoo. Happy new year!

COHEN: OK, Randi Kaye is feeling no pain.

What does Randi Kaye usually cover on CNN?

COOPER: Everything. She's a great correspondent.

COHEN: OK. More celebrities, more celebrating when we come back and Christina Aguilera performs. Welcome to 2020.

COOPER: You'll ring in the new year in Nashville coming up at the top of the next hour.

COHEN: Except for us.

COOPER: By the way, if you haven't been to Times Square by 12:20, which it is right now, this place clears out.

COHEN: Everyone is running for the bathrooms.

COOPER: Bars, bathrooms, whatever it may be.

Welcome back, Times Square.

COHEN: 2020. I'm here with Drunky McDrunkerson.

COOPER: I'm not drunk.

COHEN: We are going to Vegas for a special performance by Christina Aguilera, who is headlining at the Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood.

CHARLIZE THERON, ACTOR: Hi, Anderson, Andy, I just wanted to congratulate you guys on hosting the most incredible New Year's Eve's party, also the hottest.

COOPER: Hey, welcome to Times Square.

QUEST: "Memories" -- I can't remember the words.

KAYE: Let's go, boys. We are being carried. Check this out, right?

Do I have the hottest transportation in town?

COHEN: Move that Chyron. Take her name off the screen.

BILL WEIR, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Andy, I have so many thanks to give you because when I was a young punk, a long time ago --

BILL WALTON, NBA HALL OF FAMER AND GRATEFUL DEAD FAN: Hang on, Bill.

COHEN: Bill Walton, everybody. Bill Walton, yes.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

PATTI LABELLE, SINGER: Where's my brisket?

Where are my background singers?

COOPER: No, you look like a Viagra-fueled like retiree.

COHEN: Well, I am a Viagra-fueled retiree.

Have you ever been to Times Square for New Year's Eve? UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Absolutely not. I'm out here, trying to find a nice young man who just wants to take naps.

COHEN: Oh, my God.

COOPER: First of all, all I do is take naps.

But, yes, then nothing else is going to happen.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Mermaid in a bathtub here?

I don't think I've ever seen a tail so huge.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: That's not the only thing that's huge here, honey.

BROOKE BALDWIN, CNN ANCHOR: Shut the cluck up.

DON LEMON, CNN ANCHOR: Shut the cluck up.

COOPER: Yes, it's 50 Cents. 50 Cents is going to be here.

COHEN: No, 50 Cent.

COOPER: 50 Cent. Yes, that's what I said.

COHEN: Not 50 Cents.

COOPER: I know.

COHEN: There's a petition --

COOPER: Oh, my God, you were almost -- are you OK?

Oh, my God, are you OK?

Is he seeing anybody?

QUEST: If I were a rich man.

COOPER: If I were a rich man, deedle, deedle, deedle, do.

(MUSIC PLAYING)

COHEN: You've got a lot of makeup all over your collar and maybe a little blood right there.

What has happened?

WEIR: I got an announcement I would like to make to the world. This is my daughter, Olivia, her show. This is my fiancee, Kelly. And this is our son. There's a little hippie in here, who's coming in 2020.

COHEN: It's Barbara Walters.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Who farted? And the upcoming presidential election since this is 2020.

COOPER: I hope you have had an amazing night. We certainly have. It's been really --

COHEN: It's been the best.

COOPER: -- the best. We've done it for -- this is the third year. Best one so far. Thank you again. Thank you, Andy, for joining us. I really appreciate it.

COHEN: Drink some water before bed tonight, buddy.

COOPER: I'll take some aspirin, too, probably, not a bad idea.

Thank you to the city of New York, to everyone here in Times Square, to the Times Square Alliance, to Don Lemon and Brooke Baldwin. They continue the party for us.

And to Bill Weir and Randi Kaye and everybody here who has worked so hard. Thank you so much. I hope you have a healthy and happy new year to everyone.

COHEN: Happy 2020, guys.
