THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED. JASON CARROLL, CNN ANCHOR: Just a few moments ago, we did get some breaking news that we want to tell you about.
Chinese officials are planning to hold a news conference. That is going to take place at around 7:00 a.m. Eastern time. No details have come out yet about what this news conference is going to be about. We do know that the U.S. ambassador has left the U.S. Embassy and is on his way to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
LINDA STOUFFER, CNN ANCHOR: That's right. And just to remind you, this is the 11th day of this standoff, on a day that the Chinese state-run media has being playing up the word "sorry," picking up some comments from Colin Powell over the weekend.
Observers have told us that looked as if the Chinese were preparing their people for some sort of deal. Again, we have this press conference in just over an hour. We can't be sure what will be said there, but you can bet we'll be following it. Twenty-four crew members from the Navy spy plane have been detained on Hainan Island in China. And we'll just have to wait to see what is said at that press conference. But, again, we'll follow every development for you.
