BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Hello, I'm Bill Hemmer live in CNN center in Atlanta. I want to update on the very latest we have in Quebec City.

President Bush and leaders from the Western hemisphere, 33 others in fact, have arrived at the third Summit of the Americas. The main objective is to create a free trade zone throughout North and South America that would expand trade, help lower prices and create new jobs, but the free trade summit delayed by protesters today, smashing through a security perimeter. Protected by a mass from the clouds of tear gas, they engaged in running battles today with police, hurling rocks and bottles their way.

SERGEANT MIKE GAUDET, ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE: You can understand that there are probably a number of individuals that are intent on causing or leading violent acts to take place. We are going to continue to investigate into those.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HEMMER: We continue to track the very latest out of Quebec City throughout the night tonight. More coming up at the top of the hour in "WOLF BLITZER REPORTS." I'll be back at 10:00 Eastern, we'll see you then.
